We have been long-time customers of Don's, and we are disappointed with the service we received today. We requested CLEAR weed control & our info is noted on file CLEAR weed control rather than GREEN as we have 2 dogs & would rather not have green dogs & green floors. I’m sure they had several lawns in the area & chose to ignore the NOTED request since they had a truck full of GREEN weed control. When my husband called they acknowledged that we are to have CLEAR weed control & apologized but did not offer any compensation!!!
I have waited a full year before reviewing the results and health of my lawn. After the first spray using dye, I could see results. Weeds began dying off and the overall look of my lawn was great. Each spray after that was dye-less, and I always had weeds. My yard was last sprayed in early December and the strip of yard to the west of my house has more weeds than it’s ever had. There are also patches of weeds in my main lawn as well as to the east of my home. I wish dyed sprays were standard for each visit because I’m not convinced that my entire yard is being sprayed thoroughly. I just so happened to be home for the first application and the technician did a great job, but I was not present for the other times. I will be canceling my services and seeking the services of another lawn company for the future.
Tyler is very knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to speak with. Our lawn has become so much better since we have been utilizing Don’s Lawn services. In addition to the great, healthy and green look that our property has from the street view, in addition, mowing the yard is much easier without all the various weeds and different heights/types of grasses that we used to have to deal with. Another great advantage of having Don’s‘ Lawn service your yard, is the absence of mole cricket dirt mounds. Recently, when we had lots of rain, I noticed that every yard in the neighborhood either had dozens of mole cricket dirt mounds in their yards, or zero dirt mounds (including ours). My wife and I discussed what the difference might have been. Then we noticed that every yard that was absent the unsightly dirt mounts, had a Don’s Lawn sign in their yard! Don‘s Lawn service is really top-notch. They let you know via text ahead of time before they come out to spray your yard. They are fast, friendly, their product is very effective, and I like that I’m helping to support a local company with people that are obviously ready and willing to do their best work for their customers.
My husband and I have been long-time customers of Don's, and we are disappointed with the service we received today. Eric V. came to apply a post-emergent treatment (our seventh service for the year), and while he was pulling his hose back to his truck, he broke two branches off the shrubs planted near our driveway. If he had placed his hose on the opposite side of the shrubs, rather than laying it over the tops, he could have easily avoided damaging them.
I cannot say enough good things about Don’s Lawn and the incredible work they’ve done on my lawn over the past year! My yard has been completely transformed, and I’m thrilled with the results. Most recently, Steven came out for a treatment, and I have to say he’s the most knowledgeable and professional lawn care expert I’ve ever met. He knows each product inside and out, and he took the time to explain the treatments and offer valuable suggestions on how I can best maintain my lawn between visits. Steven’s expertise and professionalism are truly unmatched, and it’s clear he genuinely cares about his work and his clients. Don’s Lawn has earned my highest recommendation!
These guys sound good when you talk to him on the phone but when it comes down to it they're not worth the hassle. After four or five times of them coming out I still had Dallas grass in my backyard so I called and requested a spot spray. They come out sprayed didn't notice any difference over the next month. I called them again and they tell me they can't come out and spray again till it cools off. When I signed up I was told they would come out and spray anytime after the 4th or 5th application that I noticed weeds and that has not been true. Play try to tell me the Bermuda grass will choke out the Dallas grass but there's not enough Bermuda grass to do anything. As you can see in the pictures my backyard is still full of Dallas grass after paying them to take care of it all summer nothing but a waste of money.
**update** You're correct Stephanie! I received ONE call from you after I wrote my review after numerous calls and txt.... What I've gathered from this situation.. * Kyle and Stephanie agree that it's normal for flea and tick treatment to fry anything growing in your backyard. The plants and flowers will live they'll just be brown, black and crusty with burnt buds = no blooms. Gotcha. * Kyle will only refund your money for this damage if you "DO NOT POST PICTURES". Gotcha. * Don's technicians will power wash your plants/ flowers in the heat of the day while standing on them (camera footage) * They will ignore your calls and messages until you write a review. Gotcha. Now refund the money I paid you guys to destroy my garden 🤷🏻♀️ - I will update post DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They came out to do a flea and tick treatment and burnt up all my flowers! I/2 my garden turned brown, crusty and some black. I called to report the incident and Kyle the "field manager" was completely rude with no remorse for the damage done to my property. Like most customers with a passion for gardening anyone can understand just how devastating this is. A lot of time and money goes into this. The company had requested pictures which I sent. Kyle told me he would replace any plants they died and acted like this was normal. Told me he couldn't "sprinkle fairy dust" and make my garden better. I asked that he reimburse me for what I paid the company to fry my garden to which he replied "I'll do that for you if you DON'T POST YOUR PICTURES" - tells me everything I need to know about this company. I've called multiple times including today to talk to someone else but they've ignored me. I’m done losing my peace over this, although I do every time I step outside and I'm reminded. I thought about just going to the office and showing my face but nothing will change the FACE of this business. DO NOT USE THEM and tell this story! Show my pics of all my hard work ruined this year from their negligence. Including the pic of the technician standing on my hostas while power washing them in the heat of the day (3:00pm) I have full footage of him. USE ANOTHER COMPANY. These people don't care. This is just a few of many pics.. I'm still finding damage.
They are very customer oriented and it shows in all the interactions I have had with them from initial inquiries to signup to my first treatment. They were knowledgeable and answered all my questions and made it all very personal and easy. It is refreshing to find a company that truly values the customer and puts the customer first. Zane, the tech doing the treatment, came to the door and let me know what the treatment included and what I needed to know. He did an excellent job applying the treatment and was personable, polite, knowledgeable, and representative of the customer centered service they provide. I couldn’t be more satisfied. Update - March 18th, 2024: I was having trouble understanding the messaging I was receiving from them and wrote to them saying I had "serious concerns". Within 5 minutes, I received a call from Emily who called to discuss the content of my email. That in itself surprised me as that type of customer service is becoming more and more rare. But that isn't all the story here ... she was very helpful in working through the items I listed in the email and did so by carefully listening and then helping me by carefully explaining each item clearly and thoroughly. She did this in a way that was gentle, understanding, and showed concern for me as their customer. Talk about rare ... nobody does this anymore. She took the time to talk with me and wasn't rushed trying to get to the next call she needed to make, she was more concerned about me as their customer. I don't normally write reviews much less update them, but this was worth noting and I feel it worth others knowing as well. It is clear Don's Lawns values their customers and are centered around serving them. They are exhibiting everything for me to say - They are an OUTSTANDING company!

Im leaving my positive review below from a couple years ago, because they HAD been good until the last few months of my service.... This past summer and fall my lawn started to falter, in spite of Dons service. My wife commented that our lawn has never looked worse--hard to argue. The 2nd to last fall treatment seemed to kill off patches of my front yard--fescue. I was looking forward to re-seeding and getting it back in shape when the weather cooled, but they (accidentally?) applied pre-emergent to my entire front/fescue--something they are aware they shouldnt do and when I called they said they had not--but I found the tag they left on my door that indicated the did indeed use pre-emergent. Long story short, I have a lot of dead swaths and patches in my front yard which is historically beautiful--especially in the cooler months. I overseeded with a couple rounds of different varieties of seed (and hundreds of dollars) and had a 0.0% germination rate--this is seed of multiple varieties form multiple stores. Ive left Dons and disputed ONE months bill--pretty reasonable Id say. They have, for a few months of back and forth, said theyd investigate and send someone to check out (Ive sent emails, calls, texts, pictures) and what did I get yesterday--a call from a collection agency for ONE months bill. I re-checked my email to see if they ever replied to our thread, and no--just turned me over to collections for ONE months bill in the midst of our discussions about their service. Im super frustrated and cant wait for the pre-emerge to wear off so I can get my lawn back to looking respectable. I will say, their pre-emerge worked like a champ. __________________________ My first time using Dons, but they are very professional, great communicators (texting and emailing) and Steven L was nice enough to go over the plan he had for my yard before he started spraying--I have a feeling thisll be a great experience and my yard will look better than ever after my full program. So happy to no longer have to mess with weed control myself---Im not very good at it apparently.

Don s Lawn Service has helped our lawn so much. We have 4 acres and ~1/3 was weeds. We tried everything to get some grass to grow. We couldn t understand why our front lawn looked so bad until George came and diagnosed grub worm infestation. They sprayed to get rid of them and then they put down weed killer. This time we put down bermuda and it really started to grow. Curtis came this last time. He let me know when he arrived and what he would be treating. We are really pleased with the results and service Don s Lawn has provided!

As always service schedule was messaged the day before and they are always responsive to specific requests such as areas to avoid and where special attention is necessary! Ryan always takes notice of special requests before spraying! Update to previous 5 star review: They did great when we started a few years ago but price increases and the wiping out of 3 years of wildflower growth as well as killing other plants took a toll. Then they call with an increased cost of approximately 25% while I am still looking at dead plants. Ill walk through stickers before Ill have them spray my yard again.

Don s needs a lot of improvement when it comes to communicating with their customers and their technicians. They will advise you of their need to service your lawn after you have left for work and are unable to secure your pets indoors. Or they will cancel your service in the middle of the day, stating your technician called in sick, all the while your dog is stuck inside for 9 hours unnecessarily. The last scenario occurred twice this past season. Don s has done a really good job in controlling my weeds. I would recommend them if you don t have pets to contend with.
Steven L. was very knowledgeable about lawn care and friendly to speak with. Id say he was the best lawn care technician I have ever had the pleasure to deal with.

River P came out and sprayed our front and back yard for our 4th treatment of the year since starting in March/April. Most weeds are very well controlled, which is challenging because none of my 3 neighbors control their weeds. Im pleased with the results, but am hopeful they can turn the tide on the Dallisgrass type grass which had overtaken my yard since spring 2023. No complaints as long as we can use this upcoming dormant fall/winter to rid ourselves of that last pesky weed.

They really push the happy customer and give us the speech. But when it comes down to it, they delivered less each treatment after their blue dye 1st treatment. I have had weeds through the year, and then they would say give it a week more. Nothing changed. Dont buy into the hype.

Today, my yard was treated for the first time this year by Eddie, he was very professional and courteous, and did a wonderful job. He definitely represents his servants heart. I have also bedecked helped by one of their employees in the office several times and her name was Emily! Emily went above and beyond more than anyone there ever has to help me. I experienced wonderful customer service. She definitely has a servants heart and Dons Pest And Weeds Control is very blessed to have her as their employee. I would highly recommend their service, And the bonus is, if you pay by the year you get a discount which is well worth it, so you need to check them out if you re needing to get your yard taken care of for the year!

I have been using Dons Pest & Weed Control service for over four years now and I have a great lawn. They keep my lawn looking thick and green and kill any weeds that try to spring up. I look forward to the new lawn I will have this spring! Their tech Eric V came out this week and did a fantastic job covering every inch of lawn, as usual. I highly recommend their service and have recommended them to my friends and family. Many thanks.
This is my first using them. Back in May they sent an employee to spray the yard. He used the wrong chemical and KILLED ALL MY SHADE GRASS. It was dead and turned yellow in 3 days. They tried to tell me I was wrong on the phone until they sent two other employees out to the house to verify. They offered to reseed the yard. But didn t offer any money. So I ll have to pay for the extra watering for the seeds and hope the seeds make it. But they re only allowing a FREE SERVICE for KILLING MY SHADE GRASS for the Fall. If it didn t work come Spring. I m S.O.L. I will NOT be using them again after this year. They were supposed be here to seed the yard yesterday. Never showed up! Sent emails and texts saying the machine went down and I d be added to the schedule at a later date.

Dons Lawn is amazing! It was very easy to sign up for a service package on their website. They called the next day to confirm and answer any questions. They got me on the schedule quickly. My first treatment was completed by Eddie Heffley. He did a great job! He reviewed the process, explained that the soil analysis would be emailed later in the day and completed the first treatment. The weeds were dying off within hours....woo hoo! One of the things I really appreciate about Dons Lawn is that they text the day before they are coming and then text about 30 minutes before they arrive. This allows me to ensure the dog is inside and gate is unlocked. My lawn looks great and is thriving. I highly recommend Dons Lawn if you want an amazing, lush lawn!

I have been using Don s Lawn & Weed Control for about 2 years.Before that I was the one fighting the weeds.The last summer I was doing it myself I counted 13 different kinds of weeds. I lined them all out across my bench and said no more.Now my yard looks great.Communication is big at Don sThey always send out a email letting me know what day they will be coming.Just like today I got a text letting me know that Timothy was on his way to service my yard.I really appreciate that.It gives me time to unlock my gate and get my two dogs in the house.Timothy wasted no time getting out there and taking care of my yard.It sure has been nice not to have any weed problems.If you have given up like I had, Give Don s a call and they will sure take care of it.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! The technician, Ryan Scott, was very professional and did a great job spraying however soon after the spraying was completed I received a text and an email from George at the office stating the following: This is George, the head of Quality Assurance, here at Dons Lawn. The technician that completed your lawn treatment noted some thin fescue on your lawn. Fescue, unlike Bermuda grass, does not spread on its own so when its thin the only way to thicken it up is to overseed it with new grass. We do offer fescue overseeding as a service. Typically we recommend overseeding your fescue once per year (in the fall) until its as thick as youd like. The fescue seed we use is actually genetically modified so it does spread on its own, much like bermuda. We also apply the seed at a much higher rate (about 2x more seed) than the label calls for. This helps to ensure the seed takes. Only one problem, I have zero fescue in my yard. So this leads me to believe that either they are trying to up sell to people and take advantage of them or Ryan has no clue what he is looking at. I will be dropping them after my 7 treatments.
