The day they started on preparing, the city water guys showed up to tell us we had s main line leak. The Elmwood guys were very patient and worked with us and the plumbers to schedule everything. Awesome guys, awesome job! Landscaping in the spring.

I have held off on my review allowing time for fixes and overall opinion to regulate. At this time 3 stars still feels adequate. Concrete work is great and it looks fabulous, I do wish thought had been put into the final step off my stairs onto the concrete as there is a substantial height difference in step. Sprinkler box is good with all valves replaced. The sprinklers were not finished at the time I signed the complete paperwork, I should have checked before signing. I buried the sprinklers back in and tried to adjust them, notified Elmwood and they said they said they would come adjust them 3 days ago, they have not. Plants are great and the individual care when selecting was fun. I also got a couple extra because of size difference. Front faucet replaced and looks good after placing a boulder in front of it. Drip line to each plant to conserve water is fantastic. Boulders are fabulous and great size. Red rocks are full and as thick as ordered after I asked for "remnants" to be added in. Gray rock is spotty in places with bare weed barrier in two spots and sprinkler line visible along the side of house. I was able to shuffle other rocks around to cover them, but there are spots that are only 1 rock layer deep. However, this shouldn't have been an issue, they had a truck load of extra gray rock that they could have used, and were asked to use in the yard. It ended up as base for the concrete instead. Weirdly there is a tree by the air conditioning system that they did not fully pull out during deconstruction. And I already have weeds along the edges again, gotta love crabgrass. Overall the people were nice to work with, friendly and asked questions when necessary. They struggled with communication about timeline and the sprinkler guy left a mess in the backyard, I am guessing because he wasn't done. I won't be using them again, but as their company grows and they learn from mistakes I am sure they will get better! Do your part as the owner if using them and make the time to double check everything before signing paper!
Can't wait to see how good it looks dried if it already looks this great freshly put in! Pleasure working with Jeremy and Fernando. Good communication to figure out what style and size would look good. Definitely recommend them.
We hide Elmwood landscape and they were amazing, Jeremy and Fernando are a good team, and the squad that come to my house were very amazing too, I asked them to extend my lawn and put in a new irrigation system, so I asked them not to damage the old lawn, and for the same price they did everything by hand, we even planted trees, bushes and plants, and then they spread gravel around it, I would recommend them 100 percent
These guys were so amazing! We hired them to fix a mistake made by a different company, to fix the curb and gutter in front of our driveway. And they were fantastic. We ran into several problems, but they just took care of everything. Very professional. Easy to work with. They took care of everything with the city. Everyone in our neighborhood was very impressed and we have had multiple compliments on the job they did. The were amazing. Thank you Jeremy and Fernando! You guys are awesome.
Jeremy was very helpful with extra tips on our landscape that we could do ourselves. Sometimes through the project the application was not according to the discussion with Jeremy verbally, by the crew, so it was beneficial that I know Spanish; but the foreman Fernando is bilingual. So even if I didn't, I know I could count on him to correct the understanding of the crew. They were going to skip a perforated pipe to gather surface water since they believed the solid pipe would be sufficient, but when I insisted that the discussion on having both a solid and perforated pipe there we as discussed verbally be applied, and in doing so, it eased my worries about the surface water from the hose and prior installed sprinklers, (and from very rainy days, that it too could be directed away from the natural swimming pool it created), I was happy with that. Thankfully, Even though they didn't think it was needed, they fulfilled my intuitive request.:) It is a good thing they did because when it started to pool again by the next day it was gone before it became a problem, usually it takes 2 days for that little pool to drain and usually towards the house. Now it drains down the hill as it should! They also did a good job with the draining with the flow well, but they came back thankfully the next day per my husband's request, to have it go below the surface of the hill as verbally discussed. They had to do some extra work for that, and they worked very hard but they charitably did so and I'm very thankful and happy in the end! They are great to work with as long as you communicate AND verify the project as they work! I might hire them again for installing a drip system when we are ready for that.
Landscape projects can vary in complexity, so it is important to baseline what you are doing. For this project we had a lot of concrete work, hardscaping, new plants and grass as well as a supporting sprinkler system. The overall design was a high mountain local scape which we did the design work. In transparency, my project would be considered by us as an 80% success highly driven by extensive oversite on our part. There is a bit of work we need to do ourselves to reach full satisfaction. In fairness to the Owner, he has offered to take responsibility to address the gaps, but his crew has not earned our confidence that they can do so without causing more harm than good. Below is the rationale for the ratings and details: Weight Ranking Weight Rating Project Management 25% 1 0.25 Execution to Print 15% 1 0.15 Concrete Work 10% 4.5 0.45 Sprinkler System 15% 2 0.3 Hardscape Install 15% 3 0.45 Customer Service 20% 2 0.4 Total Rating 100% 2.25 2 Project Management: Outside of budgetary elements of a project plan and high-level coordination of materials & resources being delivered on time, there was no actual tactical planning for this project. This resulted in many steps being executed out of order which required the customer to take a PM role and guide the project to closure. Execution to Print: Crew provided was not able to execute to a detailed drawing. We frequently had to work with the crew in reading the print and executing to the correct dimensions. There are parts of the project that despite our efforts, were not executed per our design which is very frustrating. Concrete Work: As noted with the issues reading a print and working through proper pad sizes and shapes in laying out the forms, the rest of the concrete work went fairly well. The finishing crew was very professional and diligent with the very large concrete pour this project required. Sprinkler System: Install of the sprinkler system was rudimentary and showed a lack of craftsmanship. Zones were created that should have been mirrored and equally balanced but are not. There were missing sprinkler heads which we had to request they be installed and there was significant push back by the crew on this. We even found areas where a low-pressure water line was not terminated but rather folded and stuffed under a rock. Hardscape Install: I'm being generous here with a 3 as the install of the chat was done very well. The cobble, however, was received mostly dirty with some rock. This also was the last batch of that rock type and we needed to go another route to complete the project. The agreed upon plan was to clean the dirty cobble and mix it with the new rock and then install. Execution was not per this plan, see PM above, and dirty rock was installed throughout the project. Elmwood agreed to fix this and replace it with the clean rock, but this again was not fully executed and only a few sections were replaced. As we personally took responsibility for cleaning the dirty rock areas, we found that many locations did not have weed barrier properly applied, or other areas did not have rock or weed barrier fully installed. Customer Service: When it came to overall customer service, it was a mixed experience depending on who we worked with. The concrete guys, the concrete edger, hydroseeding were all very easy to work with. The core Elmwood team: Owner & Crew was a mixed experience. As a very detail-oriented person that is paying a considerable sum for the project, I had no qualm about flagging issues. Unfortunately, I fear this resulted in a retaliatory behavior in some of the crew members which likely influenced some of the issues noted above. The owner was generally willing to fix most of the issues, however, by the end of the project overall trust was lost in his team to perform quality work and we had to part on negative terms.

I have not used Elmwood and I wont. It seems that their work truck is above the law. My house is on a 25mph road and one of their trucks just flew through here about 50mph. I waved my arms to get him to slow down. But he just went faster. Not someone I would trust to do business with. UPDATE!!! The owner of Elmwood promptly called me about the speeding incident and assured me he would have a conversation with his driver and this is not how he wants his company represented. Im changing my rating to 5 stars and will call them if I ever have landscaping needs. This is the way the world should work together!
Elmwood did a great job on a patio project in my backyard. They poured a concrete slab and perfectly executed the design elements that we wanted. Despite some challenging weather they pulled together and got the job done timely. Jeremy and Fernando were both a pleasure to work with and made sure things were going according to plan throughout the process. Would highly recommend!
I love how responsive this company is! I saw them putting in 2 different neighbors yards by me , and was blown away how quick they were, and how awesome the work was. Jeremy gave me a bid for our project, and quickly installed our fence and gate, and then we added cement curbing to it also! Will recommend to everyone.
**Edit*** We had a few issues with our sprinklers when they were installed and were assured that they would be addressed. We are still trying to get them fixed. Once you pay your bill and leave the requested Google review, they don t help you. $21,000 for landscaping and we have dead spots everywhere. Don t pay your bill until every issue is addressed **** Brayden and Jeremy were great to work with. Whenever we had questions or concerns they were very responsive and helpful. Our yard looks great and I know if there are any issues with our sprinklers they will take care of it.
I have used Jeremy for a few different projects now and have nothing but good things to say about him and his crew. His crew shows up when he says they are going to show up, are open to suggestions, and care about what they do. Jeremy is also very knowledgeable and gives good insight on questions that I have had. I plan to continue to use Jeremy and Elmwood Landscape in the future.
Jeremy Vai and his work team at Elmwood Landscape are simply the best. We have used this company twice for landscaping in our yard. We went waterwise in our backyard and they delivered beautiful results and Jeremy and his team were responsive and came to these jobs when scheduled. We have also used him for home remodel projects. Again, they responded timely and came to our home and worked hard and delivered great results. We highly recommend Elmwood Landscape and Construction.

Jeremy and his team are nothing short of the most unprofessional liars I ve ever had the misfortune to come across. I already can t wait to see his response to this review, which I m sure will be full of his continued excuses as to why our lawn is nothing but a dead pile of dirt in the *3 YEARS* we ve waited on Jeremy and his company to follow through on a single one of their promises. Jeremy was hired to complete our neighbor s property. We had an agreement our property would be repaired and replanted after they drove their tractors through it in behalf of our neighbors. Our neighbor s project was over a year past deadline themselves. We now have not had a sprinkler system for 3 years, our entire yard has died as a result, and getting ahold of Jeremy was like pulling teeth- it often took a few weeks, if not months, of frequent texts and voicemails to get a response from him, which were often rude, vague, or entirely unhelpful. Jeremy claims he was hired as a third party to do this job, but when we contacted the head contractor, he said he refuses to work with Jeremy any longer and they have no contact. Both parties refuse to accept responsibility and we re left with replacing our entire yard and sprinkler system out of our own pocket thanks to Jeremy s selfishness and unprofessionalism. Avoid at all costs.

Had Elwood Landscaping come out and do a fence and walkway to our fire pit. Excellent work it was quick work and looks amazing!
Had them redo my yard two years ago. They showed up promptly but that is where the good ended. I have been fighting trying to get the grass to look decent ever since. Had another company come in and look at it last year and the new pipe they used is really hard to work with. Didnt even put a sprinkler on one part of my yard so we have to hand water it or pull up part of the yard again. Also they didnt rake it flat and when I asked, it was not part of the contract. they only used the machinery to try to make it even so now it is still bumpy and uneven, that was the whole reason I had them do it. Spent a lot of money and now it looks worse than before I had them start. Would not use them ever again. Good luck to those of you who do. This is what one year after looks like

Elmwood Landscaping was wonderful! They arrived on time and were friendly and professional. They efficiently prepared the yard beforehand and expertly laid the sod. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to friends and family.
Bad experience! The sprinklers werent installed correctly so areas of my lawn died. One of the valves were broke. I asked for the yard to be sod ready for the weekend because we were putting down the sod It was left with Rocky dirt that was poorly grated and the front yard hadnt been touched! We lost 4 pallets of sod because we couldnt lay the sod! The actual design that was drawn up is not what was done. They added an extra design so ran out of the material needed to finish the job and expected me to pay for more. They brought fill dirt one day and dug it up the next day to install sprinklers. Bad timing on their part. I told them they needed to take off the fill dirt but refused. We didnt get all the plants that were on the original plan and he told me he couldnt provide de an itemized statement for the plants we had. We are 20 plants short of the plan. Toward the end there was zero communication to let me know when they would be there. I asked for a discount due to all the issyes and he refused. jeremy is a nice enough guy but the work is bad and he wont work with you. I had to hire a different contractor to finish the work. They felt so bad about us having to throw out all the sod ( which they hauled away for me along with some that was on the back patio that Jeremys crew was supposed to haul away) they didnt charge us any labor for part of what they had to re-do. I would not recommend Elmwood unless youre open to have issues.

The team did a great job installing our patio and did it with attention to detail and care.
I had them do a retaining wall with an extended rv concrete pad, as well as a separate xeriscaped garden area with some raised garden boxes. The final work looks great, and they were willing to make sure I was happy until the job was done to my satisfaction.
Hired Jeremy and his team to do some grading, remove dirt, add rotomill, and do some concrete work. Turned out awesome! And they were fast. Highly recommend!
Professional, on time, great work with our retaining wall. It s exactly like we wanted it. We will hire them again for our next project.
Edit: After this review I received a call from the business and got someone out almost immediately for an estimate. It was on the higher side and my husband and I are discussing what we want to do. Original post follows. Tried to schedule an estimate online, no response. Called to schedule an appointment. Took a day off of work to meet. Called when estimator was half an hour late with no word, office manager said theyd reach out and let me know what ETA was. Called again an hour later, no answer and a voice mail saying text. Got a call back while texting, said theyd text a time for the following day, sometime after 3. Never got a text for a time, never called back, no show. Called again and was told they were just busy today. I dont ask for a lot from a business, but I do at least expect them to respect peoples time, or let them know they cant keep an appointment. If the estimators and office managers cant keep simple appointments, the lead side of the business, I cant expect they keep anything else.

I normally do not like to leave a bad review, if I am dissatisfied with a service I would rather just not leave a review at all, but in this case a bad review is necessary. Very poor communication, poor service, poor company in general. And worst of all, if you leave a bad review they will seek revenge instead of being an adult and communicating in order to resolve the problem.
Elmwood showed up the day they said they would. They completed the job a few days early. The work was some of the best quality I ve seen and the entire crew was friendly, reliable and professional. We love how the our pool area was terraced and designed. I d highly recommend Elmwood Landscaping to anyone looking for projects down, big or small.
We needed a block retaining wall in our backyard and chose Elmwood Landscape and Construction and were pleased that we did. Jeremy was easy to work with, communicated well and offered professional advice. The crew was good to work with from start to finish. We would recommend Elmwood Landscaping without hesitation and will be contacting them for future projects.
Had an rv pad and patio placed along side our home. Jeremy came out, provided great suggestions on the project. Set up the pour within 2 weeks. Professional crew , set up forms created a runoff slope insuring no problems with water drainage. Concrete came in ahead of schedule, poured in 1 day, results were awesome, couldnt be happier. Thank you, Jeremy and team! I highly recommend them!
I m going to edit this post because I had an issue with my sprinkler wiring that is not some thing that Jeremy did and he came and fixed it for me so my grass wouldn t die I would hire him again now. I use his company several times two years ago and they did a good job now theyre not responsive way too busy they moved my sprinkler box and failed to hook up half of my sprinklers so my yard is not getting watered. I reached out to get that fixed and they are not responding at all very disappointed. Now I have to find someone else to fix what they did I pay them $340.
Buyer beware! This company lies to get you to hire them, then they fail to deliver and ignore the schedule they promised. When I hired them in February, the owner Jeremy made promises to start my project in April. His crew finally showed up in late May and worked for two hours then left. They came back in June for a couple of days to do some sprinkler work but left it incomplete and with leaks . At that point Jeremy demanded that I pay for all the unfinished sprinkler work, and pay in advance for curbing and sod. When I told him he was late on his promised schedule and had not accomplished much, he threw a tantrum and walked off the job. I am taking him to court now for Breach of Contract. Dont trust anything he tells you. He only wants money, and does not meet his commitments. At my home, they left leaking valves, leaking lines, and did not install drip lines or sprinkler heads. He considers this as completed work and demanded payment for it. If you provide honest feedback to them, they accuse you of treating them badly and refuse to accept responsibility for their problems. They expect to be paid in advance for incomplete and poor quality work. Seriously, find someone who cares about their clients because this company does not. Update: I won in court against Elmwood Landscaping. Jeremy Vais response was I dont care, I needed the tax write off this year anyway. This is the type of person and company you deal with, and they simply dont care.
We needed our curb replaced. The communication with Jeremy was great: he walked us through the project, was always super friendly and always available for questions. Jeremy also dealt with the city`s inspector, their requirements and paperwork. The quality of the work was very good and it was done quickly. His team even went the extra mile and fixed some additional items not listed on the initial work order. Overall very happy and I can recommend this company.

Out of several companies I called, they are the only ones that answered. They gave me some great advice on what I should do when I re landscape my property. They havent done any work yet since we have to finish construction first but Elmwood has earned my business so far.
I contacted Elmwood for a sprinkler repair. They came out determined I needed a new system. Mine was a mess and pretty ancient. Once space came available they showed up and had a new system done in two days. Great crew and very communicative about what was going on with my yard. I ll be recommending Elmwood and rehiring them for more work in the fall.
