Just wanted to share my experience with Great Oaks landscaping. I live at the Crossing at Eagle Pond, the guy was mowing the lawn.,He hit a great big dog ball And it flew on my balcony and broke my lawn chair. I called great Oaks landscaping and Josh Delay Who is the project manager said that he would take care of it. Josh went all the way to the store and bought my chair and delivered it to my balcony. It was taken care of right away. He is pretty amazing and I wanted everyone to know, how wonderful this company is. Thank you so much Josh for helping out. 🌹
Just finished landscaping at my new home and I must say these guys do not disappoint. Everything went according to plan. These guys work HARD!! They are courteous and well mannered and attentive to the customer's needs. Don't hesitate to use them, they are pro's from top to bottom.
The company was a pleasure to work with! Juan Lopez and his crew worked tirelessly planting 21 trees around my home. I have never seen people work harder! They continued to ask me if I was happy with placement of trees, cleaned up and hosed down the driveway/street. They are professional and accommodating!
Made a formal complaint last summer when i noticed they were damaging cars with rocks flying off their tools. I said ill let it go, just make sure they are more careful going forward. Well this summer they are back, they continue to whack the curbs and fling rocks everywhere including right against our vehicles. This morning i even got a rock to the knee cap. If you must weed whack the curbs, at least keep it away from our cars. Not like insurance covers lawn company damage... never dealt with paint chips or wind shield issues till these past two summers if that tells you anything. Hire people who know how to use stuff.
We had a wonderful, and fun, experience with Jason Armbruster with Great Oaks! He made the process so fun and was very responsive to our questions and concerns. We can't wait to use him again!
Geoff and team are extremely knowledgeable and professional - and the best in the business with their landscsaping and hardscaping! Our backyard is an oasis and absolutely stunning thanks to the professionals at Great Oaks, and the plantings they selected to frame our pool area; along with the hardscaping and stone and pavers that encompass our entire back yard. The project is not only beautiful but well constructed. We highly recommend their professionalism and their expertise. And we highly recommend using Great Oaks - Reach out to Geoff Fornari, he is the best!
Not a business that I've used, but effected by their work! Apartment complex used their services to do some impromptu landscaping around the units without notice. Came home from work to discover that my internet was down. I knew immediately from what they were doing that they had cut the line. I called the leasing office who swore up and down that they shouldn't be doing anything that would cause it. Picture below show that they had a complete disregard for the property and just dug where they wanted? no ones going to be paying for the underground reinstallation I'm sure.
Absolutely fantastic work, and extremely professional. We worked with Jason to redesign our entrances, and are very happy with how things turned out. Jason also presented a very professional proposal with computer rendered plans to give us a clear idea of how the new flower beds would look. Jason was professional, very friendly, and just a joy to work with. Highly recommend for large landscaping projects!
They sharpen their lawnmower blades ONLY at the beginning of the year. Here we are in August the grass was just cut (pushed down) two days ago and is extremely long and uneven. Sharpen your blades GreatOaks

Great Oaks has done work for me for the past four years, including landscape & hardscape design, installation, and maintenance. They do incredible work and follow up on their commitments. Very responsive--and a great-looking end result!
I am a recurring customer who has used their services for landscape design, installation, repair and maintenance, hardscaping, patio installation, seeding, and a host of other significant services. I worked closely with Jason Armbruster who has some fantastic ideas and experience navigating city-specific planting requirements (I would highly recommend working with Jason if you get the opportunity to do so). The end product looks fantastic and I would absolutely hire them again!

For the past few days Great Oaks Novi has been installing a tree/shrub like fence in front of my apartment complex. I had no idea it was coming and honestly my initial thoughts were negative. As I watch this project come together I like it more and more each day. The work crew is amazing! This team goes hard ALL DAY LONG. It appears that they all work well together. Everybody knows their job and gets it done. They are clean, respectful, relatively quiet and extremely efficient. Great job!!

Great Oaks Landscape blows wood chips, dirt and grass clippings all over the place after almost every visit. Not only that, they take packages off of porches. I have video of them blowing a package off of my porch and then another employee picking it up and staring at it and putting it aside on the riding mower and driving out of view, never coming back. This was resolved with the help of local authorities, but I wouldnt recommend this company.

Great company, great designers, job managers, and Gary is a awesome owner! I own Cedar works deck builders and have worked side by side with Great oaks on several jobs over the years and have experience nothing but professionalism!
Great Oaks Landscape Associates designed and installed all of the landscaping around our home over the past few years. They did a beautiful job with considerable attention given to the variety of plantings and the balance of color from season to season. Their construction crews were hard working, courteous, and respectful as were the project management staff.
We interviewed 3 landscape companies for design and landscape/hardscape installation at our new home. We choose Great Oaks because Geoff listened to our wants and meet them all. The are very professional and delivered a great job. We continue to get comments from the neighbors that we have the nicest landscape in the neighborhood.
Geoff Fonari and Great Oaks was a pleasure to work with. My wife and I built a home in South Lyon and Geoff went over and above to make sure the project met my standards. For two years now he will stop by and make sure I dont need anything and they have been willing to removed and replace dead trees and bushes at no cost. Geoff has also taken time to come over and help advise me on how to care for all the landscaping. He is always quick to respond and get back to me with an answer. I couldnt be more happy with Great Oaks.
Very pleased with the landscape work performed by Great Oaks. We hired Great Oaks to landscape our backyard after looking at two other providers. Great Oaks prices were comparable but Geoff F. from Great Oaks provided excellent design work with multiple revisions based on three meetings with us and provided detailed cost breakdown for no fee. The landscape work was completed on a timely basis and Geoff met us on a regaular basis during the project to keep us informed and make sure the work met our expectations. Great Oaks provides a one year warranty on the plants and there was no issues in replacing damaged plants the following year. We were so pleased with the work in our backyard that we hired Great Oaks the next year to landscape our front yard. We would definitely use Great Oaks and Geoff for any future landscape needs.
Workers have no regard for plants, flowers or mulch. The cut everything and blow away the mulch. They move very quickly and are very hurried. The receptionist is very rude when calling the company.
Crew tried to run my car off the road. Horrible people.
Charges 25% more than competitors. Only does part of the work. Takes all day to cut the lawn. Your yard cant be used all day when they cut. Workers have lunch in your front yard and leave trash behind. Not trustworthy. My recommendation is to hire someone else.
Bottom Line this Company only does a half ass job!!!
