We started Turning Green as a side job. Since 2009 we extended our services to include Tranditional, Transitional and 100% Organic Lawn Health Care, Tree and Shrub Health Care, Deer Repellent and Tick Control to every town of Fairfield County, Orange and Milford, CT. We have participated and completed the ''Bartlett Arboretum" & Gardens Programs for Arboriculture and Turf. We're proudly graduated from the Northeast Farming Association (NOFA )Land Care Program and earned the most prestigious Certificate of Accreditation.

Requested a quote for dethatching and aeration only. Received a quote that did not include dethatching but had prices for other services I did not request. When calling to discuss the confusion, the person I spoke to was rude, seemed rushed to get off of the call and hung up on me when I was still speaking.
Turning Green has done an excellent job on my lawn and plants. Everything is thriving even with this extreme weather of heat and rain. I highly recommend them!
Most of the work was fine. I had to have them come back several times to complete the work that was contracted. During this time I was constantly asked for payment. I had to explain numerous times that when the work is complete I will pay. Six weeks later there are still issues. I sent them a email and asked for a reply. They sent me another invoice. Just make sure you are home so you can guide the team. I am at a loss for words. Obviously you did not read my reply to your invoice. All I was asking from the beginning is for you to replace the perennials that you removed. I also asked for you to come back and complete the removal of the ornamental grasses. I understand how the team could have missed some. I have dug out at least six of these grasses over the years and they did not grow back. This wasn't a big deal. We were scheduled and waited all day on the 30th for your team and a manager. They never showed up. When your team showed up on the 5th I was told they were here to weed. I told them no, you are here to remove the rest of those grasses, that's all. I was told the work order said to weed. I again said just remove the grasses which they did. Like I said the work was fine, it just took a couple of visits. Next I asked that you replace some garden mums that I planted 5 or 6 years ago, that your team removed. The email I received from you stated mums are short term annuals and do not come back from year to year. This is partially correct except there are also hardy garden mums that are perennials. I called on the 7th and had a nice conversation about the mums which I was told will be replaced. I again asked for a email saying they would be replaced. Once I receive the email I will either send a check or come down and pay the invoice. I have been saying this all along, I have no problem paying the invoice as long as the work is done. I still have not received an email. By the way, the conversation I had on the 7th I explained that all you need is 2 hardy garden mums in 6 or 8 inch pots to be planted.
We've been using Turning Green since 2021 and we just keep adding services their work and teams are so fantastic. We started with fall cleanup which was fairly priced and I liked that they came a few times to keep the lawn from suffocating. Next we hired them to rip up and completely redo our entire lawn. They did an excellent job assessing, grading, planting and caring for it. We're going from literally zero grass to a lush green lawn over the years. Lastly, we just hired them again to cleanup, edge and mulch all our flowerbeds. Yet again, and to zero surprise, they did excellent work. Their fair prices are only part of what keep us coming back. Their office staff is friendly and responsive, the teams that come to the house are respectful and speedy and you can feel the pride they all take in their work. Highly highly recommend Turning Green for all your outdoor needs!

Scheduled an estimate and the owner came out to survey the lawn within days and presented me with a estimate shortly after. Would have helped if they provided me with a timetable on when the work would begin but once they started the work was done very well. They were professional and prompt. I would recommend their services to anyone and I look forward to hiring them for fertilization and pesticide control.
First year with them and we are very satisfied with the results! Highly recommended!!!

This is my 10th year working with the pros at Turning Green, and my lawn continues to look great!! I highly recommend them if you want to get the most out of your landscaping.
Never even got a quote. Called and asked for a quote for a spring clean up and bi weekly cuts. Was told that someone would come out and I would get a quote within 48hrs. Over a week later and no one even showed up to survey the property. When I called it was always we came out, you should get the quote by tomorrow. My cameras never showed anyone on my property. A week wasted giving this company the benefit of the doubt. Probably worked out for my best interest. Would give zero stars because I received zero service. Update: within hours of posting this review I received a call from Turning Green saying they needed my information so they can come do an estimate. What information ? The information I already provided when I first inquired about your services? After letting them no I was no longer interested in working with them, I then received a text saying they were unable to assist me and they were referring me to someone else. As if I would ever take a recommendation from them after such an unprofessional experience. Hopefully this review can save someone some time.

Exceptionally hard workers who are meticulous with details. Just did a spring clean up, bed edging and mulching. Waiting for House & Garden to hit me up for a photo shoot LOL!
Had Turning Green start their lawn care at my friends home in New Canaan this year. (2024) I recommended them since they did well with my lawn last year. Today they took soil to test and applied weed control and liquid lime. They let my friend know they were coming which she asked for when she hired them. Will update as the season progresses but so far so good.

I used them for snow plowing this year. This year we had a mild winter. There was only one plowable snowstorm. Because they will only do contractual arrangements whether there is snow or not, you must pay the contractual amount. During the warmer winter months, they would spread salt on my essentially dry driveway, unnecessary work that they invoiced for. I had them clean up the salt on one occasion. As a result, I have paid $1036 for the season plus tax ($259 per month plus tax). The one and only plow I needed was done by another plow person in the neighborhood at 10 am. Turning Green showed up at approximately 3 pm, shoveled a walkway and spread salt. The average number of snowstorms during a winter here is 8. If we had 8 storms, it would average $129.50 per plow. I have a short driveway. If you are a business and require extensive salting for any potential iciness, I imagine they work for that. I basically bought a snow plow insurance plan, designed to supply them with guaranteed income in winter months.
They did a great job Aerating my lawn, very prompt & efficient.
The initial contact was good. I was given a time estimate of 12/1 pm. When no one showed by 1:15 pm I called the office and the woman I spoke with could not find a record of my appointment. She was going to have someone call me back. When no one called I phoned back and was told it would be about an hour. When Oscar did show up at 4, I asked him why he could not text me to let me know that he was running so late. He was my initial contact and sent the first text with the time of noon-1. Instead of apologizing he said he thought he was right on time and the appointment was at 4. Again, he was the one who set the original time. My other major concern was the estimate. We received 2 estimates for vastly different $ amounts. Neither quoted us for the specific landscaping needs we asked about.

On the high recommendation of a friend I hired Oscar and Turning Green to take care of my lawn. It s been a number of years now and I could not be happier and my lawn has never looked better!! Turning Green has delivered on everything they initially told me We ll get your lawn looking great and if you have any issues or questions at all we will address them immediately . And over the years I have had a few minor issues and questions. But as promised they were always quickly addressed. Turning Green is a great company with great pricing and great service. Good service however, after seed and aeration was done, I still have many areas on my lawn (mostly the backyard lawn) that have bare spots where grass is not growing. I watered every day as instructed. It has been over three weeks since this service was done.

Got a quote for picking up and disposing of leaves and they tried to charge $650. Went with someone who only charged $280. They may be nice to work with, cant say didnt hire, but watch out as they look very expensive.

Guys from this businesses work truck randomly tried harassing and catcalling my girlfriend on her scooter when she was just passing by their business and trying to get to work. To anyone reading this, would you really want men like this in or out your home around your wife and children?
These girls do a great job. We are on our second year of working with them.
It s about money not service. This company is very aggressive in billing and collections. They bill weekly and individually and are quick to charge late fees. Even if you inquire about a service treatment will start. We started in 2021 with $1400 per year to $2500 in 2022.
Wonderful experience with this company. Prompt with coming for an estimate. Explained everything. Scheduled & showed up on time. Very hardworking crew & very nice. Cleaned up everything. Very knowledgeable about my problem with a tree that was dying. Recommend!
Oscar and his team really care that my lawn looks the best it can and is healthy.
I used them last year and they did a great job. My whole looked amazing, however this year they left leaves and didnt complete the job. I called and was told it would be completed and it still has not been. It is disappointing as I really was satisfied in the past.
I asked for a quote for plowing a driveway -- I usually pay about $1000 total for the season. They gave me a quote for $1200 total in writing. which seemed reasonable. Then when I asked for a clarification, Oscar changed the number to $5000. Either they misrepresented the number or they are really out of touch with reality. Either way, avoid completely based on the shiftiness of the experience of getting an honest quote.
Very Disappointed with this company. It was recommended to me by a friend as i need help with my lawn. I made three appointments with Leslie and nobody ever showed up. I guess they dont need any business.
They responded quickly and completed the project within a few days. However when weeds riddled my yard from the topsoil they installed, instead of rectifying the situation they sent me a proposal of more than $600 for week control. Totally unacceptable. I would have highly recommended them until they basically avoided this problem.
I recommend that you stay away from Turning Green. Last year I paid $1,600 for weed removal and control, dethatching, aeration, seeding and fertilizer. The weeds came back with a vengeance. I had a gardener out and he told me that the weed removal was insufficient and that I will need to repeat the work. The people who Turning Green has that come to your home seem knowledgable, but it appears that the people who actually due the work are poorly trained. I want people to know that I am legitimate customer who is displeased with the service that I received from Turning Green. For them to claim that I am a scammer speaks to their lack of professionalism and the way that they do business. I have asked them several times to remove this misleading post and they refuse. I will leave it to you if you want to do business with such a company.

Outstanding results! Turning Green has made my front and back lawns lush an healthy. Start in fall and follow their professional advice on the program for your lawn needs. I wish I did not spend a penny on DIY lawn repairs. It would cost me way less if found these guys sooner.
We highly recommend Turning Green; they are the absolute best at lawn care. I have lived in Greenwich for over 16 years and during that time we have tried many different companies to treat our lawn, from large national chains, to local firms - all great disappointments (our last was a Greenwich based firm and they were a disaster as we lost our lawn to chinch bugs). We hired Turning Green three years ago to save our lawn from this disaster and our lawn is now absolutely the best it has ever been, or could be. As I write this review, one crew is applying fungicide to our lawn and literally spraying/covering every square inch of our large lawn. Prior to that another crew arrived and applied fertilizer. Their attention to detail is amazing and they miss nothing. They are all extremely polite and answer questions knowledgeably. Contrary to other reviews the office staff is attentive/responsive and Oscar is a pleasure to work with. If I could give them more stars I would. All in all they are the best at their job and we could not be happier. PS. Our landscaper (who does not do applications) also comments on how good the grass looks.
I had a change in plans with my project. Contacted the office and they said they would get back to me with a new price. Over a week later and Im still waiting to hear back from them. UPDATE: There was some miscommunication and Oscar was kind enough to call me immediately to explain the situation. All is good and I will be moving forward with Turning Green
I am located in France street, Norwalk, CT and I love the way my lawn looks. Oscar is very knowledgeable, his technicians are friendly and professional. I highly recommend Turning Green for great results. Me and my dog enjoy our lawn.
We hired Turning Green to take care of our lawn for a year. Billing was smooth, and Oscar was professional and seem knowledgeable. I can not say the same of the crew who take care of our lawn. We have multiple issues with them: 1) When there is an issue / question, it will take you days (if not weeks) for them to get back to you. Sometimes there is someone there to answer the phone. Other times, you get to a voicemail (which is fine if the message was relayed and followed up on). On almost all instances, it takes multiple calls via email/phone call to get a response. 2) We have a security system pointing to the front of our house, and we do know in general what the quality and level of service we receive from all our vendors is (vs. just guessing). We only check the camera when there seems to be an issue. On one of the service visits, it just seemed the fertilizers / post-emergent was not applied to all areas of our yards. We checked the footage, and we confirmed that the crew only covered 10-20% of the surface areas we agreed to. We timed it. They were at our property for a total of 5 minutes, and charged us $80 for the service. Think about it, it takes a min to unload and load the equipment alone. 3) The last straw came when we are now in early spring (3/30) - literally the second week of non-frozen weather. My lawn is absolutely in the worst shape it has ever been. Its over-run by weeds. We drive to Wilton and Greenwich every day. Without a doubt, our yard is the worst I have seen in all 3 towns. There is not even a remote second. If you see a house that you think Oh My God! It looks like they havent taken care of the lawn in decades. - thats mine. And Turning Green has taken care of my lawn for a year (including aeration and power-seeding, and ALL the services they recommend). One can argue a number of things contribute to this (and we havent done anything differently to our yard btw). But I expect a phone call back when I called twice to them about this same issue. No one even responded. This shows me they neither care about their customers nor is competent in their work. 4) You may think they must be really cheap and you get what you paid for. But no, they cost $80/visit when other providers charge $50. So all in all, given the quality / cost of service, and the customer service, we have to terminate the contract. And I really would not recommend them to anyone else.
We have been using Turning Green for two years, now in our third. Our lawn was a mess when they started, crabgrass, clover, dandelions and bare spots. It now is better than I ever expected, at an affordable price. Couldn t be more pleased!
Oscar gave us a fast and accurate quote for putting down new sod on our front lawn. Installation went great and on schedule. Lawn looks amazing now! Very happy with Turning Green and would use them again...
I hired this Company because of the excellent advertising ,and likability of the owner , Oscar. I had serious bare patches in my lawn. Oscar misdiagnosed my lawn problem as well as 2 trees that he looked at .One of the trees had sap running out of it(quite normal) and he said it was a fungus and he would treat it for $200.. The other was a Cherry Tree that he said was planted too deeply and would die. He wanted to rent a machine to change the planting at a cost to me of $250.The tree was fine and was planted 20 years ago. I had 2 Arborists come to look at these trees and they both said the trees were fine. Oscar aerated my lawn, but in comparison to other aeration, his seemed meager. He not supervising his men and seemed distracted. His men overseeded the bare patches and used my compost over it, but the lawn looks exactly the same now as it did a few hundred dollars ago. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY... If I have time I will bring him to Court.. 4 OLd Hill Road Westport.. come take a look at my lawn...

I was very concerned about a mountain laurel in front of my house that was looking very sparse and diseased. Oscar came right away and new exactly what was needed and the tree is looking much much better!
A wonderful family owned business, that stays true to their word. My grass is plush and stays green all year round. We have well water, and are unable to water, and it looks fantastic. Very hard working company, and stands behind their work.
