I have been using Beyond Landscaping for several years now and I am so glad that I switched to them. We have a difficult property in West Vancouver - steep rockface in parts, loads of blackberry bushes, irrigation system among undergrowth and years of ivy and other plants that take over. The crews from Beyond Landscaping have consistently done an amazing job. (Often lead by Ciaran). Whether it was digging up large areas filled with roots to plant new beds, climbing the rockface to clear out blackberry bushes, or trimming both sides of a large cedar hedge (one side that hadn t been done as no other crew would attempt it), they did it. They are awesome!! The other aspects that I really appreciate about Beyond Landscaping is their ownership and administration. They always respond promptly and are always pleasant, easy to deal with, and professional. They also go out of their way and come up with options to work within your budget. They are a fantastic company.

Great service

We had a patio installed by this company in October 2021. We had problems with them in more than one way. Before the installation of the stones, a couple of trenches had to be dug for better drainage. Our security cameras told us that took no more than 45-50 hours between three workers, which ended up being the first problem as we were charged for 104 hours at the end and no amount of trying to reason helped Cory the owner to back down. Added to that, the drainage they put in ended up not being effective and we had to use a sump pump to deal with the overflow. Ultimately, another company had to be hired to remedy the drainage problem. One of the other problems was regarding the polymeric sand that was supposed to provide a seal between the stones. To our untrained eye it was evident from the start that the sand hadn t set properly but we were told it was going to happen over time. We took their word. About a month later, we had a flood in the basement which we were told was caused by two reasons. One was that the sand had indeed not done its job of sealing the gaps between the stones and the other was that seals around the patio doors had been broken during installation of the stones and should have been redone. Not only were the seals not replaced by Great Lawns but it was never even brought to our attention, and therefore we had two very large surfaces completely exposed to water. When we called and explained what had happened, Richard from the company came and added some polymeric sand at which point, we thought we had remedied at least part of the problem, but we were wrong because we had a second flooding in the exact same way and we noticed the new sand hadn t set either. We also had to hire someone to fix the paving stones on the side of the house, where the Great Lawns workers had wheelbarrowed in the new stones, causing the area to drop about 2 inches, which in turn started a pooling problem. When we emailed Cory, and explained the damage their work had caused, he replied on Feb 20, saying this email is a little unjust referring to the problems as these small issues and that Richard will call you early next week to go over the details of your email . We never heard from them. A week after the last email, we gave up on this company having the knowledge or desire to remedy and contacted another company that came and removed all the initial sand, replacing it with sand that actually set this time. We were told the sand Great Lawns had used was cheap quality, inferior sand. Even though Cory denied this, the proof was/is in the end result. What Cory insensitively referred to as small issues ended up costing us an additional $10,000.

I contacted Great Lawn for a garden clean up and maintainence estimate because they had super high google reviews. The wait time for an estimate visit was a bit longer then the other companies but it was totally worth the wait!!! I was so glad I waited for it to happen before choosing others. First of all, Great Lawn quoted me 1/3 of the price of other estimates with the same amount of time required to do the clean up. Second, Bobby the manager was easy to reach and always available to answer my questions. Third, the crew did an impressive job cleaning up the garden, exactly how I wanted it to be done. I do plan on continuing with them for maintanence service. I highly recommend Great Lawn!

The staff pruned and trimmed a large cedar hedge that runs the length of my property. Besides the considerable work involved in this, the clean-up is also extensive. We are new customers to Great Lawns & Beyond in 2022. Our contracts included 1. Tree Trimming Services 2. Spring Lawn Care Package and 3. Seasonal Lawn Mowing Services. Our trees were trimmed & pruned exactly the way we requested. Post-trimming clean-up work was done very well. Overall we were happy with the work done this year. The Spring Lawn Care including aeration, seeding and fertilizers produced a lush green result by mid-spring. We were very happy with the results. This year s lawn mowing work needed some fine tuning early in the season and Cory s team responded quickly and to our satisfaction right away. Once the weekly schedule and work scope were sorted out we were very satisfied.

We needed some spring lawn repair after the dogs did a fair amount of damage over the winter. We had originally planned for a power rake, but on the actual day the guys thought an aerate would be better suited, along with some seed, soil and fertilizer. The results look great and they saved us a few bucks in the process. Also very responsive to emails and questions, usually about 15 minutes which is pretty excellent. Would use them again next year if the grass needs some love.

I used this company to replace my beetle destroyed lawn with synthetic grass a couple of years ago. Cory came and explained the process, made suggestions and gave quotes for different options. He was professional, knowledgable and friendly, as were his staff. I have been really pleased with the resulting landscaping and lawn. They came back recently to make a small repair caused by my dog and wouldnt take payment. I would use them again for any future projects.

Great Lawns and Beyond is fantastic! We had regular lawn maintenance done this year as well as their Spring and Winter clean up package. They are reasonably priced, professional and always arrive when they are scheduled. I also like that they are honest, during the hot weather this past summer our lawn did not need to be cut and they were the ones to suggest it. I would highly recommend them.

Corey and his crew have been helping me maintain my beautiful 70 year old garden on the North Shore for a couple years now. Last year, I designed and built a small backyard studio (pre covid) as additional space and classroom for my new career. Robert from Great Lawns helped to create and execute the vision for the surrounding landscape in which our little studio is nestled. A new path now leads students from a dedicated gate into the lower yard. The new low maintenance Japanese garden is absolutely beautiful now and blends right in. Where once was a mossy neglected part of the yard, now is a vibrant little oasis. Great Lawns did an extraordinary job in creating this slice of paradise in our own backyard. I have been sharing their name with friends and neighbors. They are a wonderful group of hard working energetic young people. Cory and his crew from G L & B have been working in our yard for almost 2 years now, pruning, spreading mulch, brought the lawn back to health, building boarders etc. They are efficient and so reasonably priced. Cory and his crew removed the old turf from my and my neighbours boulevard. They did a great job. I had previously contacted one of the other large turf installers that services the North Shore, actually contacted twice and never heard back. Cory was joking with me that half of his business is obtained because he simply calls back and shows up to do the job. Customer service and follow up to make sure I was happy was great.
