I called Rices to get some growth cleared and tree removal. After calling, they came out very soon thereafter to look at the area and then provided me with a written estimate. Once I agreed, we scheduled a day/time, weather permitting. They came out, cleared and removed everything I asked. They also cleaned the area and hauled it away. They did a very nice job, and I will definitely use them again.

The tree was taken down to a totem pole of about 25 ft. The man who climed the tree and all the men that took this 65 ft ash down worked together for a very safe take down. The man in the tree knew his profession well. He was quite skilled. They cleaned up well. The price was fair and I would recommend this company. They were very good. My coworker referred RICE to me because out of 5 different tree service companies he had received quotes from, they were the best price. I called them and they were quite busy but got me on their list. Three weeks later they called me and said they would be here tomorrow. I left for work in the morning and when I came home the large tree in my front yard was gone and I could not tell that anyone had been here as my yard and the surrounding area was spotless. I was AMAZED. My neighbor told me that they were not here very long either. The job was perfection and the work was outstanding. I will refer this company to anyone needing tree services. Rices has been doing my mowing, spring/fall cleanup (leaves), edging, and snow removal for over 15 years. I sign a contract for the whole year and have never had to worry about anything. They take great care of my yard. I also use them for mulching, tree trimming and removal. They are very responsive and I never have to worry about a thing where my yard is concerned. Rice s was great to work with. They were on time and removed 10 trees in our yard (6 were old large maples) before I got home from work. They had cleaned up the yard and you barely knew they had been there.

I love working with Tom Rice and his crew. They are fairly priced, not the cheapest, but definitely not the most expensive. He has all the equipment and professionals it takes to facilitate a quick, clean tree cutting, chipping and trimming job. They clean up after themselves, and always give me the option of taking the logs and chippings, or leaving them. They are pleasure to do business with! We use them at home as well as at our office.

These guys were very efficient and left the yard clean when done. Will continue to use them as needed.

I had Rices remove dozens of dead trees, mostly ash, some standing, many on the ground. The large crew worked hard for two days to complete the work. The ground was fairly wet so they used mats on the ground so their dingo wouldnt leave huge ruts. They cleaned up very well after the extensive job and the area now looks amazing. Will definitely use them for future needs.

Rices Tree Service was quick and extremely well orchestrated, everyone knew their job. They were very careful not to harm plants that I wanted to keep. Very respectful of the yard, they brought and used special boards for their machines to drive over to keep the ground from getting rutted up. Clean up after was great. Will definitely use again.

The crew arrived with all of the equipment and manpower needed to do the job. The tree removal was a little challenging but the Rice crew managed it without damage to our house, a neighboring house, and nearby trees. All in all a good job and we will hire them again if needed.

The crew was on time and very efficient; they were in and out in less than 2 hours, taking down an 80 ft pine tree. Totally cleaned the area before leaving. They were careful about navigating their equipment through mine and the neighbors yards to minimize any lawn damage.

In 2022, we used your service for garden bed cleanup, mulching and weed control. It was great! This past year there was some sort of miscommunication and even though I approved the same service, it never happened. Thats fine as we will try again next spring.

I hired them three years ago for lawn service and snow removal. First of all, they are very expensive. They require full payment at beginning of the season. They charge for services they dont perform and are very unprofessional. They have charged for lawn cutting in the summer for a number of weeks they did not cut it. They charged for more leaf cleanups in the fall than they actually did. Their snow plow has damaged my driveway and dented my fence. The owner denied doing so, but an expert verified that the driveway was damaged by the snowplow. The owner of the company not only overcharges, but he does not own up to the damage they cause. I have had to have my fence repaired and now I have to have my driveway repaired.

Originally had a fair quote, then they came back and jacked up the prices. Pretty disappointing.

Had them come out to trim some trees away from the house. Also, they were flexible in cutting off a branch over my shed when I asked to add that on the day before they came out. They were quick in coming for the estimate and performing the work. The value was better than most companies willing to perform the work. Overall, would recommend.

We had a guy come out for an estimate to trim our magnolia tree. Once we decided to go with them, we got a call that theyd be out the next day. Minutes later they called back and said theyd need to reschedule. Since then there has been 2 times that they havent shown up. The second no show happened last week and we havent heard from them since. Well be taking our business (and $275) elsewhere. What a shame.

I got an estimate to remove a huge locust tree from my front yard. It was very close to power and cable lines and was probably 70 feet tall. Two days later, they said they had a cancellation and asked if they could come out the next morning. Yes, please! This morning, seven trucks showed up with a cherry picker, tow motor, wood chipper, and so many workers! It was cold and raining. They were done in less than two hours and the yard looks amazing! It was worth it just for the show!

Great job! We had 5 trees we needed taken down. 2 were very close to the house and 2 were leaning very badly on a sloped hill. The other was just very tall. We had a team of 6 or 7 guys that came and took everything down and hauled away the trees. We had no issues at all. We watched them periodically throughout as it was interesting to see all the different methods and each workers skill (it seemed like one guy dropped the big trees and a different guy was up in the lift and would section trees). It was neat to watch! They cleaned up everything and didnt leave the yard a mess (they had a big leaf blower then raked/shoveled the debris up). They also cleaned up the road completely. We plan to use them again in summer for an additional 5 or 6 trees.

Its Christmas Eve, 2022, and one of our pine trees was leaning on our wooden fence. We were afraid it would crush the fence. We called Tom Rice; and, within two hours, they had cut the tree down; and, we had an undamaged fence. All of this in minus 15 degree windchill! Very bad experience an issue they repeatedly ignored and left unaddressed. After 3 months, an emotional nightmare, and my threat that I would take action against them, the issue was resolved. I hired a different company to complete the job. I will not use this company again!

Rices Tree Service removed two 100+ foot trees from our property. Their quote was less than half of the next best quote, and when they needed extra equipment and labor to remove the tree that was close to our detached garage, they stood by their quote and did not charge extra. They did some very minor damage as they were cleaning space for equipment, which they told us about immediately and came back two days later to fix. I am very impressed with both their price and professionalism. I highly recommend them.

Great prices and wonderful service

After 2 hours of work they did not cut trees into the size they told me they would. We paid them just to drop the trees. I was told they would be left in 3-4 foot long pieces, that was not the case. We also had water bottles, cigarette butts, empty cigarette packs, food wrappers and some if their personal equipment to pick up. For spending 2600 to drop some trees is ridiculous in and of itself let alone having to clean up after the people your paying to do it. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Our overall experience was ok, Gregg was awesome on the quote. After that the communication was terrible. I understand things change with weather and other jobs etc, but calling the office the staff was not very nice or helpful. I just was trying to verify a date range and I was told they would call back,, a week later no call,, same thing. I just wanted a range, not an exact date.. I think they could solve the problem with a quick, what to expect next blurb in the email they send with the quote. I mean at one time I called to make sure I understood where to remit my payment and was basically yelled at about not understanding that the email would come after the work was done not before. Also they tax should be in the quote, because it was not and that was an additional $200. The work itself was great, the guys were quick, efficient and cleaned up well. The stump grinders were amazing, even when they found out the equipment would not fit and we had to remove a fence panel to make it happen. Overall I would recommend them, but will say I wish the customer service from the office was better.

Rice Tree is professional, punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable. Two of our friends were fatally injured trying to cut their own trees. Rice Tree provided their insurance and workers compensation information as part of their visit and quote. The work was done as promised and the clean-up was immaculate. They are honest and good at what they do. I would hire them again without question and have happily referred them to others who have also been satisfied.

I called Rices tree service 2 days ago for a estimate.They came out today, gave me an estimate to take down 2 pine trees. I said yes, 2 hrs. Later they arrived and took the 2 trees down. Im not sure how reasonable the price was because I have not used a tree service for atleast 20 years but was very happy about the quick service they gave me. Very professional.

Never contacted me for snow plowing service

Had gotten other quotes and contacted the service that I wanted to ho with three times and they never got back to me. My daughter mentioned Rices Tree Service had just worked in her neighbors yard and that their prices were reasonable. Called them on Tuesday, got estimate on Wednesday and they scheduled it for Friday. Told me they would be here at 8 and they were. Took care of the huge branch and brush that had fallen in my neighbors yard and took down the remaining part of the tree. Cleaned up and was gone by 11:30. Would definitely hire again.

A waste of time. I contacted them multiple times asking for a quote. Nobody called, nobody emailed, no action whatsoever from this company.

We have used Rices twice. They took down a number of old Blue Spruce. They cleaned up debris well. Our yard, fence, and remaining trees and shrubs were not damaged.

OVERALL GRADE: D- While they are a bit pricey, I was very happy with the work performed of grinding out a stump and installing a new tree. Except for looking better, you could not even tell work had been done. Fast, Friendly, and Efficient. Grade: A. My estimate contained some outrageous prices for things I could do myself, so I only approved the stump grind and the tree install. No revised estimate was provided. Pricing for this kind of work is all around high. Grade: C. My invoice that they expected me to pay included $100 for the stump grinding that was listed as $50 on the estimate. I made the appropriate adjustments, remitted payment, and called the office to advise. The woman on the other end first informed me that the extra charges were due to Tax! Then, she stated she was looking at the Invoice and asked where I got my estimate figure that was causing me agitation; even as it should have been part of their records, I included a copy of my estimate with my remittance. Charging customers double for a service because they might pay without reading the details of the invoice is Unacceptable Business! Grade: F.

I had seven trees removed by Rices and everything was quick and professionally handled. My only complaint would be several cigarette butts left throughout my yard, but that is a small thing. The important aspects of the work were exactly as requested, quickly and professionally handled.

This morning Rice Tree service removed some trees in my neighbors yard. The workers blocked my driveway with a truck. They repeatedly walked through my yard and set tools down on my property. I had to ask that the truck be moved and that they stop tramping through my yard. Which only slowed the behavior down some, it did not stop entirely. This is unacceptable.

Due to the Cleveland snowstorm and the aftermath, I found myself in need of a winching. Unfortunately, they couldn t do it with the amount of snow that still remained on the driveway, as my snowblower couldn t get through it all. A neighbor was using Rice for their snow removal and the driver came over to do my drive. As I look out the window, I m finding he was helping a few other people on the street, with what appears to be the apron where the city blocked driveways. Great job Rice.

Did a good job when they came out sent 6 guys but schedule and lots lies to we told them to chop them tree in auguest but they can t take oak down tell October they would never give us a day they would come and lie to manager would call they finally came at end of December with one day notice they need better schedule they don t give a time you need to sit at home all day I fight with office staff person to come out

If I could give a no star review I would. This review does not reflect upon their crew they were actually good this review reflects upon the salesman Graig and the owner Tom. When it came to my quote I was quoted $2250, 2000 for tree and 250 stump. when I told them that I was a repeat customer and I was going to be paying in cash my salesman Graig told me oh that would be $1800 I m like great for that price will do it well today when the tree stump grinding people called they told me I owe them $250 which I told them no I don t I paid in cash when I contacted Graig and the owner they both told me nope that wasn t the deal price and you owe for the tree stump grinding I would never use this company again I ve used them twice now and there might have been a misunderstanding but they didn t even try to accommodate me one iota don t use this company !!!!! No where on their bill does it say pay stump grinder separate!!!! This is a solid charge that does not get discounted!!!!

Unprofessional impolite. These guys dont know how to drive their own trucks. One came within two inches of hitting me this morning without a care in the world.

What the heck kind of scam company is this? I asked for a quote for my parents lawn to be cut and they emailed me a quote that was ridiculously outrageous. So I replied No thanks. Then a month later, a get an email of a contract asking me to sign and mail back, so I emailed back again No Thanks, youre too expensive. Then today, I get an invoice telling me I owe $249.75. WHAT??? I never signed anything and you never even did any work. Stay far away, I wouldnt even ask them for a quote or you too may receive an unexpected invoice.

Rices tree service came to my home today to take down three trees . They did an awesome job! They were very nice and did exactly what they said they would do. They did more than they said they would . They cleaned all the wood up as if they tree never was there . I would highly recommend these people . They do the job right. I requested online a quote for landscaping and maintenance. I provided all the information with my contact. 2 days later an employee from Rice s tree service and landscaping came in a company truck. Parked in my driveway, walked around the house. Went into my gates backyard and spent total 5 minutes walking around my home. I didn t get out , I was waiting on him to be done and come to door. But he never ever looked towards door and just got in the truck and left. I thought I would receive a call or email with quotes. Few days later after not hearing from anyone I called their office and spoke to a lady. She said they didn t have a record of anyone visiting my home. She said she would check with a guy she figured probably was the one that came to my residence and would call me back. That was a week ago. No call again or email. I guess we are not good enough for a job

I had a great experience with this company. They removed 6 trees and trimmed some others as well as removing 11 stumps. They were priced in line with the other quotes I received and their service time was similar to the others as well. The crew worked hard and was extremely organized. John, the crew chief was on top of everything, friendly and professional. Their stump grinding crew came a few days later and did a great job as well.

My mom has been using them for tree work for a few years. Always fast, efficient, and professional. She recently changed over to them for lawn care and I was very impressed with the work they do! She just signed up for snow removal for winter! Highly recommend!

I live next door to a client of theirs, and they just blow the person s leaves directly into my yard. When I ask them to stop, they say they re blowing them towards a direction where they re picking them up but that s a complete lie. Appreciate it a lot.

Our experience with Rices Tree Service was outstanding! We needed to clear a lot for a new construction home and were stood up by another company, the day before we were set to build. I called Tom at Rices at 3pm and explained our predicament. He immediately went to the jobsite, and after agreeing on the estimate, he was able to have the lot cleared that night!

Tried cutting tree ourselves, went wrong way and was stuck in the neighbors trees. Called after we tried for awhile and Rices had the tree down and bucked about 2 hrs after first call, on a Saturday. Did a great job, highly recommend.

Had a very large tree removed by Rices, they did an excellent job and the crew was awesome. Stump was originally grinded by a company that was unable to finish the job, but Lyzens Stump Grinders stepped up and did a fantastic job finishing up. Highly recommend Rices and Lyzens.

Very pleased with quote and work crew. They handled themselves professionally and communicated everything we needed to know and listened to what we wanted. We are calling them back to get another quote for some more work wed like done.
