CHAMPION'S LANDSCAPING in North Plainfield

I tried to never leave bad reviews simply because you never know what others are going through…but after mowing my lawn today and just seeing how poorly of a job they did, I just couldn’t allow them to do this to someone else. Where do I begin, It was half upfront and the other half after they finish. They did not show up every day and sometimes wouldn’t even tell me or respond to me when they were gonna show up again. I asked them to grade my whole yard and to pave around my house because my house negatively slopes, meaning that water goes towards my house. Before I even decided to do the pavers, I had only requested them to grade my house and nothing else. They finally sold me the idea of paving around the house, which I didn’t mind because I had the intentions of eventually doing it. First mistake was that they did not put a weed barrier. I guess I should take accountability for going with the cheapest guy, you get what you pay. Second mistake was that they only graded around my house, but not my whole yard like I had asked. Third mistake, I asked him to take the roots around my house out and they took the roots off of the back of my yard. The only reason I wanted the roots around my house out is because they were going to pave. Mind you, they were planning on paving right over the roots.Fourth mistake, it wasn’t graded properly, so I have a lot of shallow parts where water now collects. Fifth mistake, they were very sloppy with the cement around the pavers and around the windows. Sixth mistake, they could’ve been more detailed with how they were going to tackle this project, I would’ve paid them more to make it look nicer around the borders. I know it wasn’t part of the project, but I have never done this before and I would not have known that it was going to look like this around the border. Last, but not least, unprofessionalism…. They ended up asking me for money before they finished. I finally gave in even though they said it was gonna be after they finish. At this point, I still owe them $1000. But like I said, they weren’t finished and that was the agreement. They ended up telling me that they were not going to put the paver sand until I paid them everything. I told him that I’ve gotten ripped off before so they finally came out after they saw. I wasn’t gonna pay them until they finished. I should’ve done it myself, because since it wasn’t done right, now the joints are all full of weed and dirt. I could be wrong, but I am almost certain that I would have paid them, they never would’ve came back to add the sand. Last time I spoke with them, I expressed they did not do everything. I had asked them to, and that I wasn’t trying to give them a hard time. Took accountability and said, maybe we didn’t understand each other, granted we speak the same language. But I get it, mistakes happen. So he told me he was going to come back to at least finish the grading of the whole yard because he did not want to look bad. What a shame… the service was great when they first started, but once they had my money, it all changed. I had even referred them to my cousin and was planning on using them for my other properties. Now I have to hire somebody to re sand, grade my whole yard and remove the shallow spots. I am still waiting for them to come back like they said they were….

Nancy and her team are amazing. They did an amazing job doing spring clean up and tree removal. They did an excellent and meticulous job even when it started to reign. I would recommend and will definitely use them again!

I signed up for a weekly lawn service and they stopped showing up after the first week. Byron tells me they’re coming, but they never show up. Unreliable. It’s a shame because when they did the work it was good. I paid you on may 16… check your Venmo
