Jeff and Carew Landscaping did a fantastic job. We got lucky this Summer with all the rain but the yard and landscaping turned out great! We had a tree not looking healthy and Jeff replaced it immediately free of charge. They stand by their work. 10/10 recommend. Adam
I wish I could give this company no stars. We have had countless horrible interactions with this company including asking multiple times for a project quote only to see them on our surveillance camera doing the work. Without ever receiving a quote the invoice came in over 3x what we were expecting and they sent an invoice demanding they would stop the next day to pick up the funds. Do not use this company, they price gauge and wait until they are in financial trouble to act on invoices, then want payment to be taped to your front door so they can pick up the next day. Horrible bookkeeping, terrible communication skills, demanding interactions, decent work but it’s not worth the stress that comes from working with this company.
Just built a new home and called around for landscaping. Jeff met with me within a day or 2 and had a plan drawn up the same night! We had Carew do the entire yard which included the yard off the front porch down each side of the home under the deck, they built a wall around the patio and the rock with bushes and trees on a hill at the back of the yard. All of this work was done in less than two weeks after our initial meeting!! there were a couple of trees/bushes that I was not fond of, and they were taken out and something else in their place😀 They installed an irrigation system and have been readily available with our questions and helping us get our sod to take. Would highly recommend Carew landscaping, and will definitely use them in our future if they need arises. 10 out of 10🏆
Our house was built in 2003. Over the years the trench has settled significantly from the street into the basement where the water and sewer runs. Carew did a nice job of removing the sod, hauling in good black dirt, leveling and compacting the soil and replacing the sod. They did a good job of clean up and the lawn is nice and level now. Well done!
I do not usually leave a bad review but this time I feel that I should. My experience with Carew Landscaping is not optimal. As a first time homeowner, I signed up for their lawn care program which includes regular mowing (weekly basis), weeding, and fertilization. I only used Carew for two months before I switched to another company for several reasons. First, there are some serious communication issues between the office and the mowing guys. During the very hot and dry summer this year, I called in to change the weekly mowing into mowing bi-weekly. They said yes sure, will do. And then I even called one day ahead of time again to make sure that they are not coming on the next day as I switched to this bi-weekly mowing schedule. They confirmed it. And then guess what? The mowing guys showed up at my house on the following day. I was out of town and saw this from security footage. I was very angry. I had to call again to ask them to remove that visit from my billing. When the weather started to cool down, I called in again to switch back to weekly mowing, and then not surprisingly, they did not show up because the mowing guys thought that I am still on a biweekly schedule. Second and making things worse, it is also very hard to get a hold of them-the phone number on google almost always gets me into voicemail and I almost never gets a call back in a timely way. I had to leave multiple voicemails to get one call back a few days later. Third, they cut my grass too short during the summer. They also left mower's trails (with bare grasses) on my lawn because they made the turn without much caution. Fourth, when I called in and said that I would like to provide feedback stated above. I indicated the intention to switch to other places if nothing improves. The receptionist said "oh, it is your choice". No apologies. That was the point when I had enough of all this, and switched that afternoon. Though I would really give 1 star based on my experience, I am leaving 3 stars here because of my intention to support local business and my hope that a 3-star review can motivate Carew to do better in the future.
The builder of my new home had Carew install the sod and some landscaping for us and the quality of work they did was very good. I even had an issue in my backyard with the new sod, and Jeff and his team were able to take care of it right away. Would use them again for future projects.
For the past 7 years Carew Landscaping has done our condo association’s snow removal. We had tried many other companies prior to hiring Carew Landscaping. I have to admit in the beginning the service was not always ideal, but because of Jeff Carew’s willingness to rectify and satisfy his customers we have become loyal customers. As time has gone on, his service has become stellar. His crew is often out in the middle of the night clearing our driveways to make sure our residents can make it to work and he does all of this at a very reasonable price. If you want a great job with personal service and attention, I highly recommend Carew Landscaping for your snow removal needs.
Carew Landscaping completed two retaining walls for me, but I would not go with this company again. I felt that all workers and Mr. Carew treated me pleasantly, but I did not find several of their business practices customer-friendly, including: -No communication when project didn't start on schedule; I had to contact Carew Landscaping and ask what their plan was. -I was charged an additional $500 for services not listed or agreed upon in the invoice such as dressing all of the gardens in my yard with mulch and removing a stump (which I had already had removed by a tree service). Neither of these extra charges were discussed with me ahead of the final invoice. -Mr. Carew was quick to take my call and stop by my house for 50% down payment, but over a week went by on several occasions without his response when I contacted him about aspects of the project I felt were unfinished or improperly done, such as filling in around drainage caps and minor flooding in high traffic areas. I called back immediately regarding those, and yet since my concerns about those unfinished or problematic aspects were not yet addressed and my phone calls/emails not responded to within a week, I felt that the company was more interested in getting payment than making sure the job was done right. -The retaining walls themselves look to be well done, but a construction company that specializes in drainage/foundation issues looked at them and said that the wall should not have been built right next to the house because moisture would permeate the facade there, potentially causing moisture damage to the interior of the home. They also said that the dirt was piled up too high against the brick of the home, potentially causing the same issue. So, now I am planning to have at least one of the walls redone, at great additional cost.
They say they come once a week. They do not. They blow the excess grass up against the building which kills the grass. Makes it look horrible.
I was snowed in my driveway and they were the only company available to come that same day, which was a lifesaver. They plowed it perfectly and didn t mess up any of the solar lights in the driveway. Would recommend.
I have had them do mowing, trimming bushes, fertilizer on lawn. I feel they do great work!
Called ahead for a few loads of black dirt. The guys working helped me figure how much I needed (which was exact), and got me loaded right away. The dirt was ex Excellent and the price couldnt be beat. Highly recommend if you are in the market for black dirt or services for your yard or landscaping needs. Thank you guys.
I work at retirement community and Carew Landscaping has been doing a wonderful job! they decorated for fall and for the holidays and it looked amazing! they even gave our residents little goody bags

The builder of my home had Carew install the sod and some landscaping at my new home and the quality of work they did was poor. Uneven lawn, tons of rocks and gravel that should have been removed before sod laid, and very poor mulching and landscaping on the little bit they did. There are plenty of landscaping companies in the area that I would rather work with than Carew.
Moved snow from my driveway quickly. Robbie is the best!

Called them to come out, still waiting for them to come out, after waiting for almost a month ago of me calling them. Almost got it by one of their white trucks that ran a red light.
Awful communication--this is a consistent pattern if you look at the other posts here. As with all the others, Jeff was quick to take my down payment. As with all the others, he or his office assistant promised time and time again that they would show up next week to do the job but repeatedly failed to show and offered no follow up call or email. At one point, after 4 months of trying to nail down a plan, I was on the verge of getting a lawyer involved. They showed up the next week and completed a project that was a bit short of what I had discussed, been bid, and paid for. At this point Im just praying that the concrete work they did holds up.
Carew Landscaping laid some sod for us in our yard. They got the job done within 2 days. We also had a few yellow spots and 2 days after we called they came out and replaced them. They have been so wonderful to work with!

We had our yard graded and two retaining walls installed at the end of May 2014. After our initial consultation and down payment it was at least a month before we seen or heard anything from them. The crew showed up and went right to work and stayed on point. The workers were at our place for 3 days, grading an acre, and the job was finished. The stairs in the retaining wall were installed on the wrong side, the retaining walls were 5 short of the proposed end, no drainage tile was installed in the yard as discussed with Jeff, the final bill was extremely higher than the estimate with no updates about anything along the way. When asked for detailed billing to find out why there was over a 60% increase from the estimate we were told that they do not do itemized billing. So all of the costs are chunked together and there is no way to tell why the bill went up so much. The communication between Jeff and the crew he sends out to do the work is poor at best. There was no drawing so all the work that took place had to be communicated by some other means and somewhere along the line it was ill communicated since so much of the work was completed improperly or not at all.
