Owner tried to tell me since I had lost my receipt. He was gonna keep my generator. I told them they need to have other ways instead of one way to prove property is a customers. Like enter other info in a computer. He laughed. I finally found my ticket and went to go pick up generator. He said he was gonna charge me extra for storage fees. He tried to pull a quick one on me. On top of that. He asked at one point while he was supposed to be fixing my generator..if he could buy it. All bad
Prices are reasonable, and service turnaround isn't bad either. I have been to other places, and it would take a week or two just to get a tool serviced. I got my chainsaw and Weedwacker in 2 days.
Bought my Honda trimmer GX35 4 cycle 7 years ago from Simons, was starting to bog down, I usually change the oil and clean spark plug and air filter every max use of 12 hours, I tried to adjust carb, messed it up, so no go, so brought it in for service, got it back from them running good, after using it for 10 hours, still running great, thank you for great service.
Pour service I took my compactor to get fix and had no time to do the repairs I needed he ask be to bring it some other day. We need our equipment to work everyday . He should hire more employees.

I cannot claim to having been smart enough to choose Simon's myself. Asurion sent me there to have my EGO Electric Mower repaired under warranty. However, please allow me to share what a positive experience I had. When I called the phone was answered right away. When I brought the mower in, I turned west onto Van Owen from southbound Laurel Canyon. No problem finding a parking spot in the lot, but be alert because the parking lot entrance is not far from the street corner. I unloaded my mower from the care and went inside. The store has a large selection of lawn equipment and lawn supplies on display. I was greeted promptly with a smile by Alex. Alex is a good communicator and understood right away the problem I was having with my mower. He is very easy to talk to. He said that the mower should be repaired in 3-4 days. I was pleased but skeptical. 2 business days later, I got a call from Alex that my mower was ready. Whoa! Exceed my expectations why don't you. When arrived back at the shop, Alex clearly explained the problem and what they did to fix it. He answered all my questions to my satisfaction. Alex took the further step to explain how I could avoid the same problem by changing the way I stored the mower. That's taking care of the customer even if it means less business for him in the future. Alex insisted on helping me load my mower into the car which I appreciated very much. I now have a small equipment repair facility of choice and can recommend Simon's without reservation based on my experience.
I cannot speak highly enough about this company Alex fix up my pressure washer when I had serious problems with the muffler he went above and beyond to make sure that it works properly and found a solution in only two days. If you have a Pressure Washer lawnmower or any small engines you guys are your go to spot will take care of you and get the machine back in operation quickly five stars all around
Great shop very satisfied customer. I bring all my Honda generators and pumps in for service and I've never had a problem with him. He is very knowledgeable and helpful they have a ton of gear and machinery at very fair prices. I would definitely recommend this shop to anybody that is a professional in the landscape industry or just someone in need of a small engine repair, tune-up or service.

Ive taken my small Craftsman lawnmower to Simons for years. Father son operation and both are nice and very knowledgeable. They set reasonable expectations when your mower will be ready and their prices are fair.
These guys know their stuff. Even though they were very busy they knew what was wrong and had my generator serviced in 24 hours. The price was more than fair and they were very professional. Good deal. Check these guys out.

Nothing good service
What more can one ask for when a business is honest in dealing with their customers. I took my chainsaw in, thinking I had a major problem, only to find that I simply did not try to start it right. I thought I would need an overhaul. I purchased a new air filter (which was desperately needed) as a way to say thanks. This is not my first time at this business. They know what they are doing and I appreciate that since I am not any kind of a professional but a DIYer. Anyways, if you need what they provide, then check them out.

Terrible service if you dont have a mower from their tiny list of services makes. They wont tell you up front but instead make you drive there to just quickly turn you away without batting an eye.

They are very rude. Especially the guy named Alex who claims to be the owner. I called for a stump grinder and asked if they do half days because I only needed it for 2 hours. He was rude and then I went into the shop to get the stump and told him that since I was renting it for one day being that it was already 1pm that if I brought it back in the morning that should be okay. He yelled and then said no and that I have to bring it back the same day at 4:30 and if not that they would charge me another day. Then he laughed and took the stump grinder back which at that point I didn t want to do business with them anyways. Don t go there save your money, they don t care about them customers at all.
Excellent place to buy gardening machinery
I bought a new $ 5,000 bluebird, it failed at the first use, we brought it back and the owner was hostile, he said he fixed it but its already been 3 kisses that I bring it back because it keeps failing, you dont spend so much money for something that doesnt work, the owner is a hostile person, dont waste time and money if you dont want to spend one more moment !!

Simons technicians are the only people in this city I trust with my to repair my expensive rental machinery. Theyre quality mechanics who know so much about my small generator engines. Brought in a pressur washer pull to get fixed. had it fixed in an hour. i tested it out few days later and it broke.
Called and was told I could get same day service for generator repair, drive 20 miles, to find out that was not gonna happen. The owner just said it would take a couple of days without even trying to troubleshoot? Seemed less than trustworthy to say the least! Then it took three years for them to comment on the negative review, which I stand by!
I took a chainsaw to Simons to be tuned up for years. It needed continual work and eventually wouldn t run. I had an extended warranty with the manufacturer so I sued them and got a new saw. I decided to recycle the dead chainsaw so I used a hammer to break off all the plastic parts. Under the plastic shell, I discovered the fuel filter was completely clogged. When I say completely clogged I mean it was so jammed that it was obvious Simons had never changed it in all those years. They are nice people. But they know nothing about chainsaw repairs! Google doesnt allow me to file a rebuttal to a. response to my review, so go ahead and read their comments, then read this part- In my review, I noted had an extended warranty with the manufacturer and sued them. How did Simons respond? By saying I never sued anybody. Really? Did they scour the court records in the Van Nuys court system to discover I didnt sue Sears? No, they got confused (again) thinking I was talking about suing their company and responded in a condescending manner. Believe what you want. Maybe their company has greatly improved. Its been over 10 years now. Whether I brought in my chainsaw every 6 months or even 10 months is not the point. Fuel filters can clog with use, particularly with a gas/oil mixture. But when the filter is so clogged that the inside is a solid block, that doesnt happen overnight.

Couldn t be happier. I brought my Generator to Alex to service. He s a certified warranty repair shop for Duromax and other generators. My Duromax was only 6 months old but had been used nonstop for 6 months. I rely heavily on this generator and Alex did a valve adjustment and oil change and called me back to pickup the following day. AND The cost was 1/2 what I expected. I will be a customer for life.
I recommend it for all trimmers.
Never fixed my generator and refused to make it right. Even offered him ownership of it and another generator which he could have bought for less than what he charged me .and made money off me again, but refused so now I have to take him to small claims court. They do not back their work!!!!

I bought my Honda EU7000IS from them, got a great deal! They are very friendly and know their stuff about generators. They are probably the only place in town that has these in stock, as well as all the parallel cables, covers, oil etc. Dont waste your time going anywhere else.
Been coming here for years always courteous and friendly. Fixed up my Back pack Blower at a reasonable price and time to fix was 4 days. Usually when i send equipment out it takes weeks. That is why i go to Simons!

Been bringing our work equipment here for years, Alex is the best! You need any of your equipment/tools repaired? Bring it to Simmons they are very knowledgeable they get the job done quickly and correct the first time. They also have a great selection of tools and equipment to rent or for sell.
I ve been coming here since we lost our house in the Creek Fire. Suddenly there was a lot more power equipment in my life. He helped me troubleshoot generator problems over the phone before I was even a customer. Since then he s quickly tuned up chainsaws, trimmers, and my generator many times. After Alex stayed late to make our lives more comfortable by getting our generator back to us in one day I needed to tell y all these guys are great!

brought in my string trimmer because it wouldent start the maniger just pulled on the string to start it told me the engine was bad to throw it away so i went to another shop and it just needed a piece of metal that controlled the cold start and run costed me only 6 buks to fix
i bought the honda generator for my food truck here. great service and selection and they provide service, repair and maintenance at fair prices and fast turnaround. highly recommended. they open early, too. a big plus when you have a food truck schedule.

Simon and his son always have a solution for my problems, even when other shops are stumped. They were able to fix an issue with my mower despite several other shops being unable to figure out what was wrong. I was told by several mechanics that it wasnt worth fixing because it would be too expensive and SPE determined a $5 part was the problem! Saved me a ton of money, will definitely be back.
Came first time in this shop, got very unfriendly attitude from the manager even I was the only costumer in the shop at that time. Next time will go somewhere else.
I chose this place because of the great reviews. I dropped off my generator which was running a year ago but wouldnt start. He said no problem and then 25 minutes later he called me to tell me the computer was fried and it would take 2-3 weeks to order parts and cost around $600. I said it wasnt worth that to fix. He insisted I pay $25 for the diagnosis. I took it to another place near my work and they tested it for free And said it just needed fresh gas, a spark plug n an oil change. He fixed it in 2 days and charge me $75. I dont write reviews and would never write a bad review unless I truly believed it necessary. I would not recommend them to anyone.
Wow great shop friendly service took my generator in cause it wouldnt work for warranty work kept me in the loop called me same day to let me know he would request a new one from generac two weeks later got new generator free of charge would definitely go back to this place shop even thought its 20 miles from my house thats how good this place is

Wow, talk about a gem of a store. This is family owned and they carry a huge inventory of lawn equipment. From chain saws to mowers, week wakers, all equipment needed. I was really impressed and I had my mower serviced here and they did an excellent job.
