The only tree service I will use; they have been pruning trees on my property for over 10 years and always provide excellent service. They arrive on time, always double check on services to be provided before they start and do a full clean up after the job.

Tom, AJ, and Vinny were a great, conscientious crew. They did a first rate job pruning quite a few trees on our property. Especially challenging were a couple of large oaks near our pool that required them to climb and carefully take down a number of large limbs that were encroaching on the house. The gentlemen arrived on time with all the necessary trucks and equipment. They set to work efficiently removing a tree, cutting it into manageable size logs for carving (pre-arranged at my request), storing those chunks in my garage taking care to leave passageways open, and trimming back offensive branches to protect the house and gutters. Before they left, the yard and driveway were cleaned of all branches and sawdust. I was able to watch the smooth operation from beginning to end and was consulted throughout. I HIGHLY recommend them as being considerate, careful, and polite in addition to their knowledgeable professionalism!

Came with a crane. Cut and removed 20 trees from the side and rear of the house. When they left you wouldn t know they were here except for now we can see the sky. Reasonable price and no damage. I recommend highly.

Arrived on time and went over the scope of work. Removed multiple trees including a large fallen limb that was on the roof of my shed and wedged into another tree without damaging the shed or the fence that it was 1 away from. Marquis Tree Service are the only tree service that called us right back and even though it was a small job came out in a timely manner and got it done. They also worked in the pouring rain with a large brush pile and taking down the top of a pine that broke in a storm and wedged itself up in the branches of the tree. Great service! If we need more work done we will surely call them again.

Every few years we trim our tree canopy. This was one of the best, if not THE best, experiences weve had. They showed up on time to give an estimate and they showed up on time for the tree cutting appointment. They were professional and efficient. Marquis Tree Service was awesome. Prompt, super professional, full clean up after extensive work, and competitively priced.

These guys are amazing! A perfectly choreographed team of the crane operator, the guy that dangles down from the crane into the tree canopy to put the chain around the tree for the crain to lift up, repels down the tree to the ground and then cuts the tree off while the crane is pulling up, a person running the large Grappler hook to feed the 24 inch chipper and a general helper. They probably took down 50 trees for us ranging in size from 28 inches down to six inches in 7 hours. The crane work they did was amazing! The crane work is expensive, but in my case there was no alternative to deal with many of the trees since some where on the back side of our house and leaning towards the house but you couldnt get a bucket truck to them. They grabbed them with the crane and lifted them up over the house and fed them in the chipper! If you notice, with 500 reviews it seems like 499 of them are five star and one of them is a four star. They deserve it! With the crew and the equipment they have, I imagine they can tackle anything.

The Marquis crew removed a beloved ancient elm, huge, sprawling and located at a dangerous and well traveled intersection carefully, quickly, and despite all of its challenges without a single problem. The crew was professional, focused on task, and enjoyed their work. They were led by a terrifically skilled working foreman whose choreography of equipment and removal tasks was masterful. Their communication was flawless, their price more than competitive especially given the size and location of the tree. After removal if not for the tree stump you would never know Marquis Tree Service was there.

Fine job on removing the tree. Shakey on the customer service. First, we got an email with the date of removal, which I replied to confirming this date in writing because it was a Sunday, and got a second confirmation that yes, this was the date. A couple weeks later, they called to confirm the date and it was indeed a mistake, they do not work on Sundays. Second, the day of tree removal, the tree was removed from the backyard and all the wood was placed on our newly seeded lawn in the front yard. We were told the wood was going to be picked up later that same day. Then we got a call later in the day saying the wood was going to be picked up sometime later in the week. So, our front lawn is dead. My husband was working from homeand could have been consulted on where to put the wood. That said, everyone was very friendly and the tree did get removed.

Starting with the initial consult with Alex, who really knew his stuff and communicated superbly, we were very pleased with Marquis. They did not push us and were priced fairly. Chris and Derek were both excellent the day of the service. They were thoughtful and friendly, and they did great work thinning out our dead branches. They even brought our garbage cans in after trash pick up as a gesture. Really impressed and grateful for the work they did.

We have used Marquis twice to remove dying or unsightly trees from the rear of our property. There s absolutely no access to our backyard. They brought a giant crane and were able to fly the tree through the air, over our house, and into their wood chipper out on the street. It is an unbelievable thing to watch. They make something that is precarious and intense look so easy. They send a leaf blower guy around at the end to clean off your patio. They complete the job all the way. I wish I could say that about more of the pros I hire to work on my house. Excellent.

I first used the arborist service of Marquis Tree Service to verify that several clumps of red oaks in my yard were, indeed, dying (they had lots of dead branches). Alex, the arborist, was very knowledgeable and listened respectfully to my concerns and answered all my questions. When the estimate was emailed, it included the company s certificate of insurance, which I always consider a good sign. Yesterday the crew came out and removed the trees. They did everything with amazing skill and accuracy, and cleaned up nicely. I was told it might be several days before another truck came out to collect the huge logs, but they came out the same day. I have also asked to have a diagnosis on what was killing the trees, and the arborist will be sending tissue samples to the UMass lab to determine that. I am very pleased with Marquis and would recommend them.

Marquis was at my house two days, first to remove the larger trees and then to take smaller trees and do a big brush clean up. Their scheduling was easy, both trucks arrived right on time, the crews worked hard and efficient and did a wonderful clean up after the work was done.Prices are very reasonable. I have called Marquis during bad storms when a tree hit my house and another when a tree took down my power line. John has always come and assessed the damage and sent someone to take care of the issue.I cannot say enough positive things about this company.

Updated July 2024: Weve used Marquis Tree Service three times now - for major tree removals, small tree removals and pruning, and for chipping/cleanup. They are always responsive to our enquiries, and get an estimator out within a very reasonable time. Estimates and invoices are handled via secure online forms, and payment can be made online or by check. The office staff are great to deal with. The folks who show up to do the work are polite, efficient professionals - regardless of the size of our jobs. They are well equipped, and leave a clean job site. We will continue to use Marquis!

Really excellent service. The guys were quick, quiet (as much as possible), absolutely surgical, and did no noticeable damage to any other surrounding trees/plants/etc. They took down two HUGE deadfalls, chipped a 20x20 ft brush pile, and processed the trees into firewood-sized chunks all in a couple of hours. It all cost a little less than I expected and was an extremely good deal for the level of service provided.

Big job, did great work. 2 trees, the one in the picture out front that was rotting and one of which was in an inaccessible place in the back yard and they just lifted it out whole.

I was just amazed at the great job Marquis Tree did at my home, with regard to tree removal, not to mention my amazement with the equipment and what they could do with the equipment to remove the trees. I had several large trees removed from one side of my home, which entailed the use of their enormous crane. The trees were removed in 2 sections, the first part involved a person being brought to the top of the tree, securing it, then cutting it, and having the crane carry them to the other side of my home, which meant they went over my front yard and roof. Just amazing. In addition two other trees had to be trimmed back etc, again using the crane to get the person into one of the trees. I was in awe.!!! The crew was very polite, and professional. They knew what they were doing. And the cleanup was amazing too. You cannot tell they were even here, except for the absence of the trees. So impressed. I will use them again when needed and would recommend them to anyone. From the initial quoting process, to the actual tree removal, to my several calls to the office with questions. Great staff. Great follow through.

Super great experience. After a really bad storm we had a tree come down on our electric wire the only thing holding it up. I approached a crew who was working for the town bc our neighborhood had extensive damage. The foreman followed me to my house and while that crew could not help he sent a second team to take down the tree before it brought the line down. Communication was excellent. Price was reasonable. I am more then 100% satisfied customer who was forced by insurance to cut 4 trees growing close to the house. Access to the trees was not easy, house is up the hill and powerlines are running on the same side. Marquise company deserves to be recognized and praised for all aspects of running their business from promptly scheduling estimate visit , follow up communication for my questions to performing actual work. I had several quotes for a small job to cut down a rotted tree trunk, Marquis has the highest quote by far, and I ended up hiring another company that cost less than 1/3 of Marquis, and it was completed the next morning. What bothers me the most is that the company told me for this quote they could start the job the next day, otherwise, I need to wait for next month. I mean, really??

I had some large pines in a difficult area to reach of the backyard. I knew that a crane would be needed and was reluctant to get a quote as I was worried about the cost. I was surprised at how reasonable the price quoted was. The crew arrived punctually on the day scheduled and could not have been more professional or conscientious. Outstanding experience from start to finish. Scott Fitzgerald from Marquis Tree Service came to our property to assess and identify trees at risk of damaging our house. He recommended removing 15 large pine trees. We received a written proposal with detailed terms along with a current Certificate of Insurance. Thanks to Ashley, a crew was promptly assigned to remove the trees. The crane arrived early AM, on time, along with a new high capacity chipper and two trucks with chipper operators. Mike, Chris and Scott did an excellent job of reviewing the complete site before starting work. During the walk around, they all emphasized safety as a top priority. The crane operator was a very nice guy, had only good things to say about the company, including his boss John Marquis. I had a couple other tree guys look at my situation and John was the only one who actually looked at each tree and talked at length about it. The others seemed like they didnt care whether they got the job. I intend to have them back to continue taking down threatening trees.

Very professional. The team had to rescheduled our appointment because they were extremely swamped with emergency service calls due to the weather. However, once they arrived, the crew was extremely professional and efficient. I hired a 110-ton crane crew for one day. The team showed up on time and hit the ground running. The teamwork (translate to efficiency) was amazing. Like watching a well-choreographed dance. The crane operator was great. Really studied the site and asked questions about sub-surface structures. Big trunks not destined for the chipper were stacked neatly out of the way. Working with the back office on scheduling and quote clarification was very easy. Will happily work with Marquis again.

Marquis did an outstanding job from initial consultation and estimate to final removal. Work completed: - assess and recommend how to safely keep as much of a dying Birch tree as possible, ended up removing one trunk and trimming - now looks great and in shape for a few more years - trimming large branches from a Japanese Maple that was imposing on 2 stories of our house. Great iteration and consultation as work proceeded to get enough cut back to be safe and open up the area for better lighting. They even called me a few weeks early since they had a cancelation which happily accepted. Highly recommend and would be the first tree folks I would call again.

I requested a quote a week ago Friday. Their email response was immediate and they booked an appointment for their estimator, Peter to come out the following Monday. Within thirty minutes after Peter left they sent the quote. I accepted the quote and they immediately booked our appointment for Friday of that same week. They removed a tree in our yard, removed some overgrown limbs from a city planted tree in front of our house, and trimmed a zillion dead branches from our massive hemlock trees lining our property in our backyard. Marquis removed a very tall, large, and completely dead tree from the far corner of my backyard. It took a couple weeks to get an appointment, but they reconfirmed and showed up as scheduled. The crew did an excellent job and cleaned everything up nicely. The price was reasonable, considering the manpower, time and equipment required to do the job, and it was much lower than quotes I got from two other tree services. Id highly recommend them.

Marquis saved our house. We had a very large tree land on our home in a storm, we called Marquis, and they had a crew of 5 guys and a crane out lifting that tree off our roof within 2 hours. They spent 4 hours completing the job, working late into the night in bad weather, and even covered up the damage to our roof with tarping which was not their job but they went that extra step to help protect our home. Marquis Tree Service carefully and quickly removed all these trees. I cant say enough about the professionalism expertise, and diligence of the workers. They did a fabulous job! We have an overgrown maple tree that was hanging over the roof and antenna. Despite that, they removed some 15 feet from the middle to the top one barely noticed it. No damage to the law, and the clean-up was superb! We will use them again the next time!

We had a fantastic experience with Marquise Tree Service. The estimator was on time, and we walked the property together to identify the trees. We had 14 in total. We received an estimate by email that day but some of the details were off. It took a little bit to clear things up, but they worked with us cheerfully to make sure everything was clear. Great communication as our area had storms that affected many people who needed emergency service, so our appointment got rescheduled -- to an earlier time. Worked for us. The crew of 5 took out our trees, left me some firewood for us to process, and cleaned everything up in about 6 hours flat. It was amazing to watch whole trees sailing through the air. These folks were real professionals. Derek was a site to behold up in the trees and the ground crew kept everything moving and clean. You cant even tell there was a massive crane situated on our back lawn. Absolutely amazing service. We highly recommend them!

Very knowledgeable and provided great consultation about numerous trees on my property. Helped in deciding which trees to cut down and which only needed trimming. Trees included ashes, maples, and an old very large cherry, They did an excellent job and I would recommend for any tree work.

Marquis did a great job taking down 3 fruit trees in our yard. They were here on time and the crew was efficient at getting the tress cut and cleaning up. The stump grinding crew followed up a few days later and again did a great job of getting down into the ground removing stumps and large roots. We would use them again and recommend them to friends.

I used to work with Scotts Tree, who merged with Marquis. Scotts was always top shelf. I recently did business with Marquis. Responsive in getting out to quote the job, provide the quote, and schedule the work. The work was done yesterday, with very little complaints. The huge tree trunks left overnight did put some divots/holes in my grass but I repaired them today now that the tree trunks are gone. Every other part of the job was excellent. Ill continue to use Marquis in the future.

We had a terrific experience with Marquis for a recent tree removal project at the house. Six 100 + pine trees including chipping. The estimate process was professional and complete. Not the lowest bid but close to it and a more comprehensive proposal + reputation so we went with Marquis. Crew chief Dave and his team checked all the boxes. Showed up on time, very professional interaction to review the scope of job and they went to work. I was impressed by the speed and quality of work. They even rake up wood chips! And the truck showed up same day to haul the logs away. Super impressed with Marquis and highly recommend.

Marquis Tree Service recently took 22 large trees down at my house via crane. The crew was very nice, worked super hard, and took great care of my yard. The crew was constantly cleaning the area where the trees were getting chipped. The logs were picked up first thing the next business day. I would definitely use them again in the future!

He told me they would get the game plan going and start work removing three large trees. They cut down all the trees and didnt leave any debris. Marquis Tree Service did an impeccable job on some fairly extensive tree work we recently had done. They removed one trunk of a very large four trunk maple tree and one trunk of a smaller three trunk maple tree. In addition, they expertly trimmed the large maple both in our yard and the neighbors yard at her request. Stabilizing straps were also added to the large tree to increase safety. We were very concerned about potential damage to existing landscaping, but our fears were unfounded. Marquis used mats to protect the lawn where needed and were very careful when lowering and moving tree debris. Their cleanup after the job was incredible and almost like they were never there. We highly recommend Marquis Tree Service!!

As a homeowner who also has a large number of trees on my property, Marquis has consistently taken care of my tree removal needs over the years. Im not sure when I started using Marquis, but Ive used them at least three times over the years. I have an infestation of Black Locust trees that have always been problematic both from how fast they upward, how tough the wood itself is to cut, and how damaging their dropped limbs can be. As a result Ive had Marquis come out many times over the years to remove these trees as time and budget have allowed. Each time, them come out, listen to my needs, make suggestions, and provide a quote to have the trees removed. The trees themselves are often 40-50 ft tall on far ends of my property. Marquis has a professional crew that is backed by a crane, that can setup, cut the trees and remove them as appropriate. This time I had a last minute addition of one more black locust that I wanted removed as well. The on-site crew was able to remove it with no problem and no fuss. At the end, they were able to remove 8 large trees. Much of the brush and smaller limbs were able to be shredded up, and the large trunks stacked neatly on my lawn until they could be picked up the next day. The service _seems_ pricey, but to be fair Ive had no desire to look elsewhere. Id rather pay for excellent service, than save a few bucks and regret it in the end.

Big shout out to Chris and Mike and their crew for an exceptional job done. I needed to have a tree removed and chop down a few branches that were hanging over the driveway and posing a hazard for my cars parked underneath. Reached out to a few tree service companies in the area and had a couple come out and take a look. Of the 2, Marquis was one and their approach was way more professional, economical and methodical compared to the other guys. I had a definitive, comprehensive quote (with pictures!) from them within a couple of hours and the time/date they would do the removal. On the day of, they arrived on time, setup a game plan and executed the services efficiently. Cleaned up every bit after wards and left the driveway/area spotless clean. Reason for the 5 stars - they went the extra mile to take care of a few little things that could become an issue later on - removed a couple of extra dead branches overhanging the driveway, cut the stump down of the tree removed, down to couple of inches - barely noticeable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Marquis Tree Service if you are in need of tree services. The other guy was extremely unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with, I will submit a separate review for them.

They were actually early. I wasn t expecting them until afternoon. The guys were great, friendly, thorough. They had to come twice because as they were working on one tree one of the workers got attacked by yellow jackets or bees. Poor guy. They came back to complete the job when the critters went dormant. This company was great from beginning to the end. The contact for checking out the job was there 2 days after I called and gave me a quote which was a fair price. On the scheduled work day, the workers were actually early and we reviewed what needed to be done. They completed the job with ongoing communication with me and were very knowledgeable about tree trimming and what should be done for insurance and house protection. They also cleaned up so well, it was like they were never there! I would absolutely recommend them for any kind of tree service.

Yesterday, Marquis Tree came to our house to prune some trees in our yard. We have a lot of trees that needed pruning due to all the rain we got this summer. MT was fabulous to work with. They were responsive to my call, came out right away, walked the property with my husband, and had constructive recommendations. Their quote was fair for the amount of work to be done. They arrived when they said, did a wonderful job of pruning, cleaned up all the brush and left our yard and trees looking fabulous. We highly recommend MT for all your pruning needs. We contacted three firms for our complicated job. Marquis was the lowest bid. The job entailed taking down a very large dead elm located on a street corner but on our property above a retaining stone wall with branches that extended above and beyond the many overhead electrical and communication lines from a utility pole on the corner. The utility lines not only stretched along the main street but also ran along the side street around the corner. Marquis showed up precisely at the appointed time and quickly began work. From a bucket truck, limbs were carefully cut and dropped to the ground, avoiding the yew hedge below and perennial borders. Marquis at my request retained some logs for my use to cut up for firewood and moved those logs to my driveway where I could later saw them up. The removal was completed professionally, with logs and debris chipped, and the pieces of trunk that were too large to be chipped, picked up that day and taken off site. I would highly recommend Marquis Tree Service.

I have used Marquis Tree Service five times for trees grown at various spots in my property. They used cranes to reach trees at some spots in previous jobs, but this time the workers depend on their training alone on a tree far away from a place that a crane could reach. Marquis Tree Service did a wonderful job! We have a small backyard with a very large oak tree that needed pruning and removal of large branches. They only had about 10 ft x 10ft area where they could bring the branches down onto and there were many obstacles to avoid as well. Including our shed, our deck, fences running along the property boundary, our house and our neighbors homes. The crew was able to get the job done with no problems and demonstrated that they are truly professionals in this line of work. All of my neighbors are also very impressed with the professionalism of this tree crew and Marquis Tree Service overall.

Burlington, MA - We had a tree limb fall on the house during a recent snow storm. I called. Ashley was so pleasant and understanding. She set up an appointment for that afternoon to have it looked at. That afternoon someone arrived (sorry I cant remember his name). He was quick, easy to understand, and knew just what needed to be done. Ashley called later and said that the crew would be at our house in the morning around 9 - 9:30 (what a joy to not have a 4 hour window). The crew was there at 9:00. Very friendly, willing to fill me in on exactly what they would be doing. In short order the crew had removed the limb and cleaned up the debris, checked for damage (luckily none was found to the structure) and then moved on to their next assignment. It is wonderful to have a company that is so friendly, understanding of the information, able to communicate with the customer on our level, obviously take pride in their work, neat and clean, and so quick to respond.
