We didn’t hire them - but they trimmed our bushes when they were working in the neighbor’s yard. It wouldn’t have been so bad but we had pruned them to maintain height as a screen between us and the neighbor’s patio. LKM did come out the next day and admitted they had mistakenly cut bushes on our property. We asked for a discounted quote to remove and replace the bushes with arborvitaes. It’s been two weeks - no quote, no follow up, and they won’t return our calls. We’re very disappointed with their lack of response and responsibility in this matter. Would not recommend them at this point.
We reached out at the end of the summer of 2023 and spoke with Daniel McClure. He came out to our house, had a conversation with us and we told him what we wanted. My wife and I were honestly not expecting the work to even be able to begin at the earliest spring of 2024. to our surprise, Danielle informed me that they would be able to get the work completed before Christmas. I really have to commend the crew that LKM Landscaping sent to my home. There was most times 6 to 7 people on my project and remained there until the project was completed. We put in a sizable patio and a patio around an inground pool. The guys even showed up in the beginning of December when we had some bitterly cold below zero windchill days and worked all day long in the backyard during the cold snap. We were elated that our project was completed. We were blown away at the level of professionalism, the quality of the work & they took care of every last detail right down to spreading grass seed and covering it with straw for spring growth. They cleaned up the job site. They did not leave any mess for my wife and I to have to deal with. We are most appreciative to Daniel and Mark McClure and their crew of guys and LKM Landscaping who did such a phenomenal job on our patio and our swimming pool patio. Thank you LKM Landscaping. You will most definitely be our first call for any future projects.
LKM team graded our yard after pool installation. The work was done quickly and exceeded our expectations. We were concerned with elevation transitions on two sides of the pool, and they made it look great while alleviating our worries about erosion/deterioration of soil
These guys are amazing. Put in a brick patio, landscaping and plants. The design was wonderful and we got exactly what we wanted. The guys that did the work we great. Cleaned up every night, swept all debris from the curb and even brought in our garbage cans the day we weren’t home. The were friendly and professional.
I had the most terrible experience ever with this company and its sales rep Mr. Trevor Dennewitz. Trevor and I had set up a date for him to come and look at everything I was wanting for my landscape needs. The first thing that happened is he cancelled on our first appointment, which is fine, things happen and I get that. He wanted to set up another appointment, gave me a time and day and I said yes that would be fine, he never acknowledged my email of agreeing to that time. I thought that was weird but still I was fine. May 27th at 2pm was the date we set. At 2:15pm I email Trevor asking him if he is still coming for our appointment? He said he was running behind but he was still coming. He arrives at 2:30pm, 30 minutes late and from the very beginning I could tell he didn't care about my business. I had done a full walk around my house and asked him about different items such as the rocks on the side of my driveway, the bushes in front of my house, a retainer wall in the front yard because of the slope and mud drainage during heavy rain like the past weekend. Trevor could care less, he snapped few photos and blabbered off possible costs, told me I really don't need anything different on the side of my driveway, just to dump some more rock on top of it. Things I asked for he basically told me I didn't need. As he was leaving I was completely confused as to what had just happened. I've never dealt with a business that didn't want business. I asked him so are you going to come up with a bid and email it or call? Trevor says yea he will get a bid to me that he was very busy but he would get one to me. Here we are 6/29/21, over a month later and no contact from Trevor. I would never use this business ever for anything. I'm not sure how someone isn't following up with his appointments and making sure things are getting done. Terrible experience.
We used LKM for bulk mulch delivery this year and were really pleased. We previously used another landscape co to get 5 yards of premium dark brown mulch a couple of weeks ago and their delivery fee pushed the price up a little more than we liked. That delivery ended up not being enough for our property, so after calling around a bit more for our second load, I spoke to LKM who advised that their standard brown mulch might be a good match. It was pretty close. It was a little more 'shredded' than the premium, and a little lighter in color, but all in all not very noticable, and we got twice as much for only about $100 more. I was able to order and pay via phone, provided delivery instructions, and they were here in a day for contactless delivery. Very easy and quick. I wasn't sure what 10 yards of bulk mulch dropped out on the drivewould look like, but it ended up taking an area of right about 15' x 15'

We worked with LKM several years ago on an outdoor lighting project that made us very happy, so when it came time to renovate our backyard patio, they were the only company we called. The primary reason we called LKM focused around two issues. Firstly, we have three trees that outgrew the brick circles LKM laid around them. It should be noted that LKM initially told us our circles would be too small due to the impending growth of the trees, and they were right. The roots eventually pushed the bricks up, making them uneven. The diameter of the circles needed to be increased. Secondly, the nine-year-old back patio settled incorrectly which resulted in a large crack. (It should be mentioned that LKM did not lay this patio—our builder did.) We asked LKM if they could enlarge the patio area in such a way that it could comfortably accommodate eight to ten people. I also floated the idea of a pergola because the sun beats down on our backyard as it sets. LKM sent Daniel McClure, whom we’ve worked with before, and he took into account our needs and ideas. He soon drew up a set of plans that we absolutely fell in love with. Now, to be honest, he gave us the Cadillac of plans. He probably assumed that we would scale back certain aspects. For the most part, though, we kept everything he designed. We plan to raise our kids in our current house, as well as to retire in our current house, and so we looked at it as a worthwhile investment that would increase the quality of our lives. From start to finish, it took LKM about two weeks to complete the project. This pace amazed us because they took down an old tree and removed its stump; planted five pine trees; tore out and replaced the brick surrounding three Autumn Blazes; broke up our small concrete patio and replaced it with one about four times its size; cut a pattern into the concrete of the new patio; installed new lighting around the new patio; wired that lighting; carried in the pieces of the pergola, stained the pergola, and constructed the pergola from the ground up; regraded a low spot; and planted dozens of new plants. Most amazingly, the same crew did all of this work. The guys planting the prairie grass were the same guys cutting the wood for the pergola and putting it together! Furthermore, the LKM crew worked relentlessly. They’d start at about 7:30 a.m. and work to 5:00 p.m. Other than a lunch break, they pretty much powered through the day, every day. And though we didn’t interact with the crew very much, they were perfectly friendly when we did. We found them all to be pleasant, accommodating, and respectful of the property. Now, just to be clear, this project proved very expensive. However, we knew the work would be done correctly, we knew LKM guarantees their efforts, and, frankly, we like working with LKM. This is a company that takes pride in its projects, its quality, and its customer service. If you’re thinking of completing an outdoor project, I completely recommend LKM.
We had excellent service from LKM as they removed our existing patio and wall that had moved over the years. The salesperson designed a new look, worked to keep the costs down while providing helpful suggestions to incorporate our desires with new features. The employees that they had do the actual work showed professionalism and worked extremely hard to provide the end product that was promised. They even provided additional solutions to make the patio even better. We couldnt be more happy with their work and follow-up.

The work was fine, but I got sent to collections after having received absolutely ZERO invoices. Absolutely appalling business practice. Ill never use them again. If you use them--be careful! Not one phone call....I had paid all my bills as soon as I received an invoice--didnt it seem odd that I didnt send a check? Nope. Ridiculous. Like I said--appalling business practices. Ill find someone else to hire.
Great service
We have been using LKM for about five years now. We signed up for their fertilizer program and have been very pleased. Not only are they on time, but they are always very kind and stop to chat with us and our girls (if we are home while they are there). LKM is an outstanding company with great employees. The salesmen in the office are very kind and friendly. If you are looking for someone to help you with your next outdoor project call LKM! You won t be disappointed!!
They leave a mess blowing grass all over your home,in your mulch,and all over your lawn furniture and completely miss areas with their mower. I strongly encourage you to go elsewhere!
We had written a disappointing review this summer on this company. They asked for a second chance, so we gave them one. Wow! We were not disappointed. The crew was very attentive to what we requested. The work they did was beautiful, and my wife and I were very happy with the outcome. The crew we had was great to work with. Their fertilizer program has my yard looking great!
Initially we were very pleased with our new patio and landscaping. We had it done in November and they said if any plants didn t make it they would replace them in the spring. True to their word they replaced them but we have three rhododendrons that have died . We treated them the same and you can see in photo that one is right next to the other. We called LKM to tell them and apparently in the contract it says they would only replace plants once. This was never pointed out to us and so now we are needing to buy and replant even though we spent several thousand dollars. The cement workers and stone masons did an amazing job and we were very pleased with all the staff who worked on our home. Just not pleased with hard line on replacing some plants that were obviously defective.
We moved to Normal in 2021. LKM was recommended to us. They have been great, including redesign of side of house, new concert pad, and full backyard sod installation. Trevor and the team have been response to questions and updates and the quality of work is world class!
We ve been using LKM for about 4 years. Their lawn crews are very efficient and thorough.

We ve had LKM perform seasonal fertilizing and seeding for 2 years. We re happy with the lawn work, but have had numerous problems with their billing system. Repeated calls and conversations with staff in an effort to solve the billing issues were met with immaturity and apathy. Emails were wrongly connected therefore causing multiple billing errors, confusion and accusations. Our frustrations with their unwillingness to solve their continued billing errors were reason enough to discontinue our service.

Excellent all around
Horrible company do not use. Tried them for the first time this year for my lawn maintenance. They have been consistently late for all of my treatments and my lawn looks worse than ever with all the weeds growing. I asked them to come back and spray for the weeds and no response. I called them a few weeks ago to complain about areas in my lawn turning brown and they said someone would call me back....no call at all. Now my lawn is infested with army worms and has large areas of dead grass because they wouldnt address my concerns. Today I canceled them and they acted like no big deal. I never leave reviews at all but I do not want someone to have this experience. Plenty of better companies out there who will actually return your call.
Went and picked up pellets for my smoker and they were easy to work with.
I am deeply disappointed in how my wife and I were lied to by LKM Mowing and Landscaping. We are seniors and for health reasons can not cut grass or shovel snow. We were explicit in our desire for lawn and snow removal services to be provided by LKM. We were told that snow removal is only provided for customers that subscribe to full lawn service. We agreed to full lawn service, which was expensive but well done, and that a separate contract for snow removal would follow before winter starts. We were given a price for both services. Last week my wife called LKM to follow up on the snow removal contract. LKM told my wife that our home is not scheduled for snow removal, even though we did have full lawn services. No snow removal spots were available, but we could be included on the snow removal wait list which adds customers by seniority. When my wife explained that this was not our agreement, she was told there was nothing they can do . At this point my wife was forwarded to someone who could cancel our account. Clearly LKM has more customers than they need and don t care about their agreements or reputation with senior citizens. Timothy Moran
I ve contracted for LKM s 6-step fertilizer program for about 3 years. They do a tremendous job. My yard looks so good, and so much nicer than when I tried to do it myself. The workers are all friendly and professional. I also had LKM do a small landscaping job for me a few years back. I was very happy with the result and would hire them again when the need arises.
Ive had LKM for a number of years. Theyre reliable and always do a great job. I stopped using them for 2 summers to save money and the quality of my yard went downhill fast. Wont make that mistake again!

Ive found LKM to be very engaging when it comes to my lawn care. There are many companies to choose from, but I am a repeat customer. Like any work to be performed by contractors, be sure to set your expectations up front.
LMK is a great local company. That hires local people that do great work. That s huge in my opinion right now. Let s keep our hard earned money, in our local community. They been Fertilizing my lawn, Aerating, and Mulching my landscaping for the past six season. Plus other bigger projects through the years. LKM did a beautiful job on our home! They transformed the south west corner and west side of our home into a gorgeous, long-lasting area. Their staff are incredibly efficient, knowledgeable, and the costs are absolutely fair and reasonable. We will be using them again for other projects and we can t recommend them enough!

LKM has been spraying our trees for Japanese Beatles and fall lawn aeration. I have always been pleased with the timeliness of this service and quality of the work they perform. They make a special effort to perform these service at the right time and the care they use when aerating the grass without damaging the lawn.
We have had a great experience with LKM doing our lawn maintenance. We initially thought we would be able to handle it on our own, but with our schedules in the spring and summer, we just didnt get to the treatments we needed to get done on our own. We let the lawn go for a good chunk of the summer and then the crabgrass and weeds set in. LKM came in September, October and November to catch us up on some lawn applications and within a week of the first treatment, we could see a noticeable difference in the crabgrass and weed control. In comparing their pricing to two others, we found theirs to be competitive and thus far, we have been happy. They leave a small sign on our lawn to let us know when a treatment was applied and they have been very accommodating to our requests when we have had to make an adjustment to the schedule. Josh Kaminski has been very responsive in emails and is prompt in providing an answer - this is so helpful to us in our busy household! We have been so pleased with what they were able to do in the last part of 2019 that we have already committed to the full treatment plan for 2020. Thank you, LKM!
LKM is a customer focused organization. We have been doing business for 5 years. They have completed landscaping projects and treated our yard. Every single employee in that time has been professional, listened, and done excellent work. I have done price comparisons and they are very competitive. I recommend LKM without reservation.

LKM completed a entire backyard landscaping project this year which included removal and installation of a new concrete patio. The entire project was well within our budget. I cannot say enough about the workers who installed the project with regard to their professionalism, communication and attentiveness throughout the project.

We had multiple things we needed done and Trevor gave us a clear breakdown and the cost for each option so we could prioritize and decide which project to do. The workers were very professional and the end results are exactly what we wanted. We would use LKM for future landscaping and lawn care needs.
From top to bottom they are great......ownership, management, office administration and field staff. They are professional, prompt and courteous. They do what you want and need. They leave the job site better than they found it. They stand behind their work and follow up after the job is complete to assure satisfaction and I like that added touch. They did our holiday lighting for us this year and it looks beautiful!! They did such a wonderful job and the crew was very professional. We had looked into holiday lighting with another company last year and their price was almost twice what LMK charged and I think their lighting looks better than the big bulbed lighting the other company uses anyway. Id highly recommend them!!!

LKM salesman and designer, Trevor Dennewitz, designed a remedy to our sloping pathway on the west side of our home. LKM workmen, Nate and Bryce, built a new retaining wall and rebuilt our existing retaining wall. Nate and Bryce produced a beautiful retaining wall which increases our curbside appeal and more importantly increases our enjoyment of our home. Trevor, Nate and Bryce are a great team with which to work.

We utilize LKM for our regular mowing and landscaping needs and they are wonderful. We wanted to highlight how wonderful they were with the ice situation that caused incredible tree and limb damage to our property in late December. We had a huge amount of branches and some broken trees all over. The guys did an amazing job. They worked incredibly hard and didn t even take a break that we saw. We would highly recommend LKM for so many reasons - and this is one of them.
