Vargas Landscape in Nipomo

My husband and I are sooo thankful, this past April 2024, we found and hired the incredible Nipomo Landscape Architect Contractor, Gary Vargas, who is a creative genius, to design & transform our "blank slate" 3/4 acre backyard of dirt, sand and tall weeds into a jaw-dropping, magical, park-like, paradise oasis that exceeds our wildest dreams! From the first time we met with Gary, he was so warm & friendly, open to any of our suggestions and requests, but for the most part we relied on the many years of his unique, visionary landscape expertise and also his extensive knowledge of all the flowers, shrubs, fruits trees & ground cover that is indigenous to our wonderful area, and would flourish over the years, because of his years studying Horticulture, as a young man, at Cal Poly. Over the four months of this huge, extensive project Gary was in constant contact with us, either by phone, text or in person, walking us thru every phase, getting an approval from us, even if he needed to make just a small tweak to his original design, he was a consummate professional, but always so charming & open. Under Gary's guidance, with his remarkable large-scale design in hand, Gary's amazing landscaping crew and also a few excellent sub-contractors, for certain phases, created the following -- a state-of-the-art putting green (which my husband nearly LIVES on every day), whimsical, winding concrete & DG pathways, dozens & dozens of flowers, shrubs, fruit trees, queen palm trees, ground cover & a succulent garden, a dramatic, curved, accent retaining wall, and top-of-the-line luscious, green artificial turf, in key areas of the yard, and also his crew tore out our horrifically, gopher-ravaged front yard lawn and replaced it with this same marvelous turf. And his shining glory, centered in the middle of the back yard, to complete his landscape masterpiece, is Gary's SIGNATURE - his Wild, Winding, Dry Creek Bed of smooth river rocks, huge boulders and wispy, feathery, river reeds - just breathtaking!!! Not to mention Gary's crew installed a whole new irrigation system & drip line system in our back yard. And now I would like to take a moment to give my respect, admiration and huge thank you to Gary's two main landscaping employees, that have been with him for years, Pedro & Eloy. These two men are the most talented, tirelessly hardworking employees, with big smiles on their faces and a hello, every morning, from the very first day of our project to the last two men standing on the last day it was completed. I'm going to miss Eloy and Pedro, and of course, sweet Gary. Gary Vargas is a very good man, and a wonderful family man, who has been married to his high school sweetheart, the lovely Gina, all his life. Thru all my talks and getting to know him over these last four months, I am proud to call Gary Vargas my friend. I give Vargas Landscape an A+++ rating and would MORE than highly recommend his company for all your small & large landscaping needs.

We are very happy with our landscaping! Gary’s crew are the best hard working, respectful and dependable guys. Gary is a very skilled designer as well. The best part is that he is easy to work with and after the rains we recently had we had a puddle at the beginning of the walkway so he and the crew came out to install pavers in that area and tweak a few thing for us.
