Sharp Lawn Inc in Nicholasville

I've used Sharp Lawn for our Christmas lights installation up for about four years and they do a good job. I decided last summer to give them an opportunity to take care of my front yard landscaping and it's obvious I'm not a big or important customer to them. Steve the owner really knows his stuff which is great. Unfortunately, it seems it's the other staff or back office that can't get their act together. I'm promised 2-3 weeks for them to come out for fall landscape clean-up, had to call twice, and 5 weeks later they came out. I decided to employ them again for our 2023 Spring yard clean up and even called early in March 2023 to get on the list, Steve came out, we confirmed 3 weeks, I'm now sitting at five weeks even after we called the office and they told it me it would be early to mid last week. Unfortunately, I thought since I was giving them my business for Christmas lights yearly which isn't cheap, I would be treated more like a valued customer but that doesn't seem to be the case. I would recommend for Christmas lights but steer clear from other jobs unless you want to take on the work of constantly following up with their team to confirm when they'll be out and how far off they are from their original estimated time.

Here is it… December 2, and our Christmas lights are still not installed. We always turn everything on by Dec 1. I’ve called twice and always some lame excuse. Also we paid upfront back in the summer.

These folks put in a paver patio at my home. There are three areas where the pavers have dropped, specifically one area of about 25 to 30 square feet is particularily bad. The water ponds badly in two of the three areas. I had them give me an estimate for repair. I have followed up multiple times to try to get them to fix these areas. I have talked to Alex, who always answers the phone, requesting that Steve the owner or Ryan, the owner's son, get back to me to schedule a time for repair. Multiple calls have been made and each time I talk to Alex, she says she's passing the request to Ryan. No responses from the owner Steve or his son Ryan.

They were very responsive. Scott came out to give us an estimate. He was friendly enough. He said he would get back to us the same day, he wanted a colleague to look at our project. That is where good ended. He never came back nor would he return and of our calls. It was the most unprofessional experience we have had in a long time. We never did get an estimate explanation or anything else, he just left us hanging,

Owner was onsite to review my project and advised I would receive a call back in a couple of days with the estimate. More than two weeks later I still never received a estimate or a return call. I made several follow-up calls leaving messages with the polite gal in the office where she even confirmed they indeed were interested in bidding the job, and still nothing.

I'd give ZERO stars if I could. Two young men arrived back in April to check my irrigation system and confirmed repair was needed, said they would gather the parts, estimated $300-$400 for repairs, and never ever called me back. I have called the office and left message after message after message to no avail. If there is anyone else in town that repairs irrigation systems, call them and not Sharp Lawn. They obviously don't need the business.

Been using Sharp for several years with good results. Dealt with Ray Maggard (now retired), who went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. Had an appointment with another guy recently to discuss another job I wanted them to do. Even got a text to confirm the meeting, but the guy was a no call no show. When I called to ask where he was I was told there must be some misunderstanding as he was at a doctor's appointment. They rudely made me feel it was my fault, even though they scheduled the appointment and confirmed it. I've been a customer for 7 years, but this incident left me with a bad feeling about them.

I have spent thousands of dollars with Sharp. Suddenly, I get no responses to multiple requests. They do not show up for or call to cancel appointments. I was overcharged & will not be reimbursed, even though I have the paperwork proving the over charge. Michael is unreliable and makes unreasonable excuses for his lack of professionalism. He sent an employee onto our property unannounced AFTER I told him in writing NOT to do so. We no longer use Sharp Lawn.
