Cory & his team did a great job at our property! Professional & highly recommended! I would use them every time

We used the services of Griffin Landscape for over 15 years with 0 issues, until the owner retired and gave his customer list off to J&L Services (Cory). Since using the services of J&L, not only did the quality of the service provided go down drastically, but they also damaged a water sprinkler and refused to fix it. As a result, we terminated their services and found a better option, however, J&L sent their team to our home regardless to proceed with their services (after already having their services officially terminated in writing and acknowledged by Cory via text message) and caused further damage to our property by breaking the base (water container) of our basketball goal. Upon initially reviewing it with Cory, he simply stated that it was likely Amazon (no deliveries that day) and that his team never cut the grass around the basketball goal that day (they did as seen in the attached picture), claiming that it was not his team’s fault but that he would come take a look the following day, already essentially insinuating that we were lying about the situation and even chuckling about the sprinkler that had never been fixed, making it very clear to us already that he would be difficult to deal with. He finally arrived (several days after the day he had mentioned over the phone), went directly up to our basketball goal without asking or announcing his arrival first, removed all the tape we placed to temporarily fix the base damage, and then proceeded to ring the doorbell to claim that it was not his responsibility. My Father answered and made it evident that his service to our yard was terrible, pointing at all the weeds, uneven cuts and dead spots on our yard (picture examples attached), to which Cory responded that it was normal. Upon asking him about the basketball goal, my father noticed the tape had been taken off and got upset, as that was the only thing keeping the goal standing, to which Cory simply responded it was not his responsibility, and that it was going to leak anyway. My father noticing that Cory was not going to attempt to help in anyway or even re-tape the goal, told him to leave. Cory then called me, briefly detailing the situation that took place at the house and then repeating that it was not his responsibility, claiming that he saw no marks, paint or cuts from his equipment and stating that we have no proof to prove that it was him/his team that caused the damage, further stating that it was old anyways... I made it clear to him that at no point did we ever ask for a new basketball goal, that it was the principal of the fact that they were not even supposed to be there and respect that mattered to us, and while we had no specific proof, it was obvious it was his crew that caused the damage, as absolutely NO ONE else had been on our property on that day and not once in 15+ years has that basketball goal ever fallen. I stated that we simply wanted them to at least attempt to fix it and if not possible to replace the broken part/base, he simply continued to refuse it was his responsibility, to which I responded that it was fine, but that we would leave a review reflecting his poor services, to which he proceeded to call me childish and was attempting to speak over me in a rude tone until I told him the conversation was over, thanked him for his services and ended the call. All of this to simply say that if you value your property and receiving good honest services for your hard-earned money, we recommend taking your business elsewhere!

Cory is always responsive and helpful. A rock busted a double pane window while they were weed eating and Cory came the next morning and ordered a new one and had it replaced as soon as possible. That is honest work that you don’t find everywhere. Good people that do a great job!

Very high quality and professional work. Cory and his crew prepped and laid our sod on time like he said they would. Turned dirt into a beautiful yard. Highly recommend them
