Bellingrath Bros. Landscape & Design is a landscaping company located in Newington, Connecticut. We started in 1999 while our owner and his brothers were still in high school. We’ve grown to provide a complete range of landscaping, landscape design, hardscaping and excavation services. We do both residential and commercial work as well as municipal work for the town of West Hartford. Our shop is located in Newington but we service West Hartford, Avon, Farmington, Rocky Hill, Bloomfield, Avon, Berlin and beyond. One of the things that sets us apart is our customer service. We will use Bellingrath Bros again. We wanted to solve the problem of water in our basement and re-do our backyard and pool deck. Mac took on a large and complex backyard project with many moving parts and stayed within budget. The drainage solution he offered was truly sensational and a basement that was getting water frequently has been bone dry through two "once in a lifetime" storms. For the backyard and pool deck he guided us and really his vision produced a phenomenal looking final product. Predictably through the process of digging and re-grading Mac uncovered issues with work that had been done by others throughout the years, these were addressed and in the case of our propane line upgraded at no cost to us. Mac was responsive and available throughout. Timelines were more fluid than I'd have liked but again I will use him again in the future. The dedication to producing excellent work is truly top notch.
Bellingrath landscaping did a great job with a really tough back yard. After installing 6 dry wells, and many tons of crushed rock, and grading the lawn, it got rid of most of my drainage issues. I recommend these experts for any yard drainage project. They really know what they are doing.
Bellingrath Bros makes the search for a landscaping company easy. Just go with them. Attention to detail, excellent follow up, professional. I required a shed foundation and leveling process and all was done to standard. I will hire this company for future projects and highly recommend Mac and Co.
Mac and his team did wonders with our property. We bought a house only to find out it had serious water issues, making a big part of the yard unusable for much of the year. Water was seeping into our basement walls, the yard was constantly wet, and we were worried about long-term damage to the foundation as water was pooling near it. Most contractors we talked to gave up before they even started, saying they couldn't do much about it. But then we found Mac. He didn't back down from the challenge quickly giving us a plan, and immediately took action when we gave him the greenlight. It was initially expected to take two days but we hit some problems when the team ran into issues like the original underground gutter extensions that were mis-installed and contributing to the seepage in the basement. At this point he already had other jobs lined up so to meet his commitments Mac and his crew worked on evenings and weekends to get the job done. When most crews turned in for the day they'd get started. I can safely say I've never seen a group of people work so hard - it was likely due to the pride each member of his team took as they stated "we are the best at what we do - don't worry - we'll fix it". I think their success was due to their knowledge of landscape design as well as drainage solutions - they were able to combine the two to solve our problems whereas other companies specialize in one area or another. They ended up improving grading of our yard, installed new gravity drains, building a stone retaining wall, and hydroseeded it so we'll have an amazing lawn our kids can soon play on. They didn't skimp on the quality of the materials either - the old pipes we had issues with were a fraction of the diameter and much thinner than what they used. Having seen what they did step by step I know it will last. Our yard is now dry, and we can finally enjoy it without worrying about water issues going forward. Everyone that has come by has commented on the beautiful job they've done - its truly a night and day difference from the soggy yard that we had to our own slice of paradise. If that wasn't enough our neighbor has had similar issues for years and the solutions he tried never worked. Once he saw the great work that Mac did he decided to hire them to fix his yard - I expect there will be more as word gets out. I'll recommend them to anyone that has similar problems.
SPECTACULAR! Never could I have imagined this project turning out as it did… Mac's guidance and his supreme crew really created a masterpiece in my side yard. My vision of a privacy hedge coupled with the Cape Cod-type plantings he chose resulted in landscaping perfection! I am so thrilled with my project. Mac is responsive and passionate- his crew members are kind and VERY hard-working. He also completed an excavation project here to help alleviate water in my basement via dry wells. This project was scheduled quickly and done very carefully. Would recommend Bellingrath Brothers above everybody else!!
Mac and his crew were thorough, efficient and friendly. They were able to terrace my yard with a beautiful boulder wall with steps exactly as I had imagined. Having just moved into a home that needed a new driveway and help for a front garden, Bellingraths arrived and addressed those needs as well as designing a new walkway in the front. They also did several little odds and ends they saw was needed and it was much appreciated. Ive signed them up for more service. They are a great team.

Belengrath Brothers Landscape and Design is owned and operated by Mac Belengrath. He s 29 years old and started working at a very young age. Mac and his crew are a cut above the rest. He understands the importance of a happy customer which, along with his strong work ethic and get it done right attitude is the reason behind his success. Highly recommended.
Top tier landscaping outfit, great customer service, you won t find better work ethic. These guys are very passionate about what they do, always going above and beyond for there customers. They take great pride in the work they do. I have used there services on many occasions pavers, retaining walls, new landscaping installation, maintenance, snow removal, drainage issues, tree and stump removal, they also do light concrete work and have a terrific mason on the team. I highly recommend Bellingrath bros for all your landscaping needs.
If you want a job truly well done, you need to go with BBros. Mac uses top of the line machines and materials that make a difference in the final product. His attention to detail really shines through when the job is done! Once I hired another landscaper for less $ and then hired BBros to come and re-do the job! I learned my lesson, it s beyond worth it to go with the quality landscaper who knows what they are doing. Especially when it comes to proper drainage - BBros completely saved our yard!! Not to mention, he started this business with his brothers when he was 8 years old! Talk about life experience!!
I highly recommend Bellingrath Bros! Mac and his team did an amazing job landscaping my front yard. They transformed it from an overgrown mess to an incredible design with all new plants, borders, turf, and mulch. It looks wonderful! The entire team is very friendly and hard working. The project took about a week and at the end of every day the team did a complete cleanup of the yard and surrounding areas so that the neighborhood was not disrupted. In fact, a few of my neighbors were so impressed with their work that they also hired Bellingrath for landscaping projects at their own homes. Since this project was such a success I now have Bellingrath do my fall and spring cleanups, snow removal, and other miscellaneous projects around my home.
Had to find a new lawn care company as my long term provider went out of business. Bellingrath Bros had already been doing work for my neighbor and their yard always looked top notch. Spoke to Mac and he met me right away to discuss my needs at two different properties. His crew was at both places within the week, and the work was done perfectly. Mac and his crew removed very overgrown bushes and trees from the front and along the sides of my house to clear it for future work. They were fast, professional and took care to avoid damaging other trees, walkway and the house. Mac kept me informed of what was going throughout the process and checked in with me several times to confirm that I was happy with the work. Great to work with and would highly recommend.

Mac Bellingrath and his team transformed our property within budget while staying within our requested time frame. We found this company on line after a couple missteps with other local landscapers who seemed disinterested and overpriced. Mac responded to our call promptly on a Sunday morning and met with us that same day. He listened to our concerns regarding our admittedly overgrown, tired, weedy property. Mac collaborated with us and shared his own vision to transform and beautify our modest yard. He incorporated our ideas with his awesome design concept. They mulched, edged and removed poison ivy, and saplings. The team removed dead/diseased bushes and two ugly trees and relaced them with gorgeous hemlock bushes, a Japanese maple , ornamental grasses, hibiscus plants ...We were especially pleased and surprised that he chose the lavender plants that we love. We recognized Macs clear talent in landscape design and once we gave him the green light he thoroughly impressed us with the plantings and design he created. He mentioned incorporating large rocks, and used these to create a side lawn retaining wall that was both beautiful and practical. Mac immediately impressed us with his enthusiasm, knowledge and energy. He stayed personally involved throughout the process and his team did a great job under his direct supervision. He clearly communicated the timeline with us and our neighbors and always left the property cleaner than when he started. Once the transformation was complete we were impressed when he came by daily to water the new beautiful plantings. We enthusiastically recommend Bellingrath Bros landscape without any reservation. Backyard was in desperate need of an overhaul. Many areas were overgrown, and wanted a natural solution for additional privacy without having to install more fencing. Also wanted small garden in front& back yard, containing peranials& low maintenance shrubs. Worked closely with Mac on landscape design. Was attentive, had good creative solutions. We set a budget at the beginning of project, and touched base throughout to ensure we were on track, while still ensuring maximum inpact.Brought live shrubs, flowering trees& plants to review which lent vision to project from concept to finished product. Ended up tearing out entire lawn, and agreed on split seeding. Would highly recommend as front has major slope & is southern facing. Had minor delay starting the job, but once began project moved quickly. Due to all the activity, grounds needed watering daily, and team took extra care of plantings. Worked well with Mac, good communication throughout the project. It is great to work with a Commpany that takes pride in their Service & results. Recieved many compliments from neighbors,, often requesting to see backyard results as well! Will look forward to several followup projects. If you are considering any garden or landscaping, would strongly recommend .
