very frustrating app. There is no standard for lawn care providers. If you get assigned a good one, be sure to get their cell phone # in case the app randomly assigns you a new one out of the blue. One time youll get a great one, the next one youll get a guy that has no business cutting anyones lawn.

SO MANY other companies/people that will actually come out and cut your grass before your grass gets taller than you. Proceed with caution using this company!!

Absolutely awful the guy they sent ripped out our grass and lawnstarter did not compensate or arrange for repair.

This service is ridiculous they outsource to local companies! They are not reliable or have anyway to contact customer service on the weekend.

I was previsouly with this Lawn Starter a few years back and used them for a couple years. I temporarily stopped service in 2021 after my routine Lawn Starter crew, which I adored, quit the business. I resumed service with Lawn Starter in March 2023 and I must say I am very disappointed. I was with the service for over a month with weekly scheduled cuttings. During that time no crew ever came to my property. They attempted to send two different service crews after I complained of weeks going by without cuttings. Both crews continued to cancel and reschedule my cuttings against my wishes and eventually failed to show and ceased communication all together. I was then informed by Lawn Starter that no further crews could/would be sent. For being a previous customer of theirs and having a track record of on time payments with zero complaints in the past I feel that I have been used abominably by this company and would not recommend this lawn service company for reliable lawn servicing in the future.

Normally, on time, professionally cut, rarely ever cancel appointments.

Marked job as complete, charged us, but NEVER cut the grass. When contacted, he said it had been raining too much and he would be there the next day. First off, the job should have never been completed/charged until it was ACTUALLY done! Secondly, he was a NO SHOW the next day. Then, the next scheduled cut was SKIPPED because the grass was TOO TALL. (NO DUH, it was never cut). He wanted me to approve an EXTRA FEE to cut the taller grass. What?!?! Are you freakin kidding me. It s now been a month and he still has shown up to cut the grass. If I hire anyone new, I will end up having to pay an arm and leg for the tall grass. So frustrating! So disappointing! CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE he is shady and unreliable!

We have received lawn care from Lawn Starter for at least 5 years, but their service has been deteriorating for at least the past 2-3 years. They will post that service has been completed, when no service has been received. The provider keeps rescheduling our service without our input and sometimes doesnt show up until hes ready. So, we are on the phone trying to cancel and they are insisting on a balance due for service that has not yet been provided. I have been on the phone for 30 minutes, trying to cancel by way of a supervisor, but to no avail! UGH!!! We will not refer any friends and hope to cancel service without issues.

Initially had an issue with my service but it was the contractor and not the company that caused the issue. Since then they have taken care of me very well and made things right on their end.

They always sent me the text and asked me how do I like my lawn but no one ever showed up to mow the lawns!!!!!!

Scheduled a cut for two weeks out, crew never showed. Got assigned another crew who delayed my service for another week until my grass had not been cut for ~1mo. I tried to call to cancel service but was told that since my crew was scheduled to come that day (after being continuously rescheduled), they could not cancel my cut and I would have to be the one to get in contact with the crew to work out the scheduling issue. Absolute joke of a company and would never recommend this garbage to anyone.

BUYER BEWARE!!!! This company has some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered. They sent a crew to my house to cut my lawn with a weed whacker! The lawn was completely uneven and I called them to request someone come fix the job. Their response was to offer me a $15 credit. They refused to send out anyone to fix the horrible workmanship and told me that if I wanted another crew to come out before my next scheduled visit in two weeks, I would have to pay full price! Obviously I canceled immediately! This company doesn t deserve my business and shouldn t be trusted with anyone s business! Terrible company!

I love that I can schedule and pay and everything through the appl! I used to have to go to the atm at the bank bc I don t usually keep cash on me. This was so simple. Love it!

Do not be fooled by the 5 star reviews. They farm 5 stars by asking you to change a low star rating. I gave a 3 star based on the performance of the app. They called me to talk about the issue and then asked me multiple times to change my rating even though the reason I reviewed a 3 star was not improved. I still give the app a 3 star, and customer service a 2 based on shady practices

Abby has been so professional and does such a great job. The price is also very reasonable. She s always on time and my yard has never looked better. It s amazing how well she does in such an efficient amount of time.

This type of middle man business will never work because Lawnstarter cannot compel providers to actually do the work. I signed up, was scheduled two days later and then rescheduled continuously for nearly a month. If the provider doesnt show, all Lawnstarter can do is find another provider, usually days to a week out (who also wont show). Youre much better off finding a local lawn care company that can do the work (hell, even skip the middle man and call one of their providers directly). Without having a guarantee that the provider will show up (like FedEx or UPS, for example), theres no reason to have a Lawnstarter middleman involved in this transaction. Dont fall for the low introductory rate, pay someone who will show up on time and you can contact directly.

Scheduled on Saturday and was told if a company accepted the request I could have service the next day or for sure on Monday. Monday I called and expressed a urgent need since my property needed to be shown but couldn t because of the yard condition. Dallas was the contact that accepted the assignment on Sunday and never responded. The two day window was for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday was the commitment final day. Tuesday I began calling at 9AM waiting for service since I had a showing for 4. Dallas never replied to me or Lawn Starters. Lawn Starters were very accommodating but they have no control over their subs but, should have back up to accommodate customers. Being the large global company they claim to be they need to schedule this. I was jammed and had to cancel the shoeing. As we speak, I hired a great guy who felt sorry foe me for twice the price and he is working now at 8Pm still. Your company needs to factor this in.

I requested a team that I had used previously....didnt get them. This other crew promised me that Id be #1 the next day. I saw the schedule had changed though. Altogether it was 3 no-shows in a row.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with in any industry. I signed up for them on 6/14/2022, and it is now 7/1/2022 and my grass still has not been cut. There have been 3 different delays and changes of service, and they didnt inform me of any of them - I had to call in to find out why my grass was not cut as scheduled. Now my grass is out of control and I will have to pay another company a long grass fee to fix the mess LawnStarter created. You couldnt pay me to recommend this company - not even to my worst enemy.

The answering service and management at lawnstarter are unprofessional at best. The female that answered the phone the first three times a crew never showed up started yelling and hung up on me. Rescheduling because of weather is one thing and out of everyones control. But, this company states if there is a need to reschedule, they will get someone out within 24-48 hours. That hasnt been the case with our service. They also say they will contact you when you submit an issue, yet something else that hasnt happened.

Signed up on July 10, 2022 for lawn service for July 22, 2022. They set it for July 22, 2022- July 25, 2022. July 29, 2022 they informed me I will not get service because there was no one to do it. This company is a joke. They wouldnt let me cancel because I had to do three services first. I couldnt get them to come out for one service let alone three. I wish they would allow me to remove my card info off the page and completely delete my account. I want nothing to do with this company. Question thats asked to give this review is.... did I use this business. Well sadly no they never bothers to meet my simple needs. A need for my lawn to be cut. Save your time and money and call your own lawn care service.

I do not see that someone weed eating the entire yard is any where near being mowed properly. the past two time my yard was done it only weed eater that use and several missed spots where visible and the yard entirely was uneven . Now my new provider just tried jack up price to over $146.00 just one time mowing. That needed due lack responsibility of previous provider cancel service on july 21st prior to next scheduled mowing on july 25 that due.and now it aug 1st and new provider found. Over charging and now caused my service to be canceled completely with out my permission .i not very happy with lawn starter and their service providers i now be force buy a lawn mower doing services my self

I wish I could give this lawn service company 0 stars. I ve called 7-8 times to get my lawn serviced and no one would ever come. All I got was excuse after excuse after excuse, along with I m so sorry I m so sorry. Waiting for them caused my grass to get 2X as high. I m so angry I can cry. Do yourself a favor and call someone else.

Literally the least professional company I have ever experienced. The customer service is terrible, lawn care providers can cancel your service without providing a reason. I signed up for lawn service on August 29. It is September 7 and my lawn has still not gotten cut. I ve called customer service three times, and they have not been able to help me. Unreliable, unprofessional, complete waste of time. Do not use this service for any reason at all. Absolute garbage. Edit: even wilder that they managed to respond to this review within 12 hours, but have yet to respond to either of the emails Ive sent in the past few days.

Never show up when scheduled. I have been a customer for four years. At first everything went very well. This last year was horrible. I went through at least six different people to cut my grass. And now, for the last four weeks I have been begging for them to come out to cut my grass. Every time I call, they say someone will be here in the next few days. Now the grass is so high I have to pay another company $100 to come out and cut it! Very poor service! Horrible to treat a four-year customer in thisManor!

If I could give 0 star, I would. The crew came out to cut my grass and damaged my AC. When I filed the claim they told me it was not covered because their insurance only covers major damages like if their crew causes a fire. I have since waited over a month without my grass being cut, but they sure are charging my card saying it was completed! I thought going through a business would be better, especially an insured one! Joke s on me. Please, learn from my mistakes and find someone else, anyone else.

No one showed up to cut my grass

The lawn people broke my bathroom glass and refuse to return my email about it. I m waiting for my house to get sold but I can t since the window is broke. Plus I scheduled to get my grass cut after the fact and nobody came. Really bad experience and poor customer service

They were vague. I did not know where they were coming from or going. No address. No phone number. No total price.

My team kept putting me to a later date. 11 times total. I called the 800 number and got no results. The parish cited me f or high grass 2.5 feet. They knew this and still never bothered to even text when they didnt show. DO NOT USE THIC COMPANY. PLEASE PASS THIS ON SOCIAL ME F IA.

Stay away from this company and I promise you ll thank me later . I m actually still in shock a week later as to how this company operates. I was looking online for someone to do some yardwork and cleanup and I looked at quite a few. I had put in my email and phone number on their site to request an estimate and they called me back on Friday asking for my business and promising that they could get my yard done and could come out on Monday or Tuesday. I thought too good to be true right? I definitely wasn t expecting them to be out in 3 days. Well guess what??? It was too good to be true! Received a message, by email mind you, con Monday stating that they cannot find a crew to perform the services for me after they called me telling me they had a crew ready to roll for me. Why? Why are these people calling from Texas to schedule lawn care through different companies and they don t even live over here why? Stick with the independent small business man and you get better work and better results. I called the guy I m using now on Monday morning after getting the email and he came out that evening to cut my lawn and give me an estimate for the bush trimming and clean up. That s what I call a 5 star company! So glad I found him after this big disappointment!

No show for 3 weeks until after I cut the grass myself. They pushed back the schedule every 2 days after missing the scheduled service date. It s happening again right now.

Was given 4 different dates that someone will be over to mow the lawn. On the 4th date I received message they would be here at noon. No one ever showed up. Called the service and they had no explanation why this happened, cancelled my contract. Used another company who came out the same day I contacted them. Would not recommend Lawn starter service.

I signed up for a membership for them to not even show up. When I called to see what happened, they said a crew was not assigned and couldn t even tell me when they would get out to my property yet reminded me that they charge extra for grass over 6 inches. Not reliable. Would not recommend.

They stopped servicing without notice, then promised to send another crew and that they would not charge extra for the long gras. I waited 3 weeks and nobody showed up and no new notifications

I actually spoke with a person over the phone after being sent multiple texts offering services. The person on the phone was nice and sent me dates that crew would come out but then day of services I was saw that is was canceled and if I wanted anything done Id have to pay and set up a another appointment. When I contacted their customer service they advised there were no crews in my area period, let alone one that could come in the future. Dont waste your time.

This is not a local company. This is a referral service of some kind. They had horrible communication and two days after they were scheduled to arrive I had to call them to find out what the person had canceled. Would not recommend. I much prefer Get it Done Lawn care or Bowman landscaping in New Orleans and Jefferson parish

My lawn was cut and edge by the contractor as I requested, neat and clean. Great work!

The crew showed up at 8 at night to cut my lawn. They were turned around at the gate because we have strict Community rules on lawn services which includes no Services after 6 PM., none before 7 AM. and none on Sunday. When I told the lawn guy the rules of the community he was extremely rude and told me I can just cancel his name from the list. I called customer service all day without so much as a phone call back. I finally reach them by email and they told me that they had a three cut minimum and that I was still scheduled despite the fact that no one has showed up yet. I dont know who is vetting these people, but clearly they are undesirable. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Really confusing pricing, very expensive for what they did. I requested more services and they just didnt do it. For example, I asked them to trim vines and the pictures shows that was clearly not done. Now Im locked in for two more services and each time Ill have to do everything they promised but did not deliver. They also left the gate open which endangered the dog. Would definitely not recommend.

Their customer support is nonexistent. After receiving conflicting information between them and my designated lawn care person, they refused to specifically address the issue. They did nothing whatsoever to find a resolution. I would not recommend their services to anybody.

I used this service for almost 3 months, set up for biweekly cuts, using two different crews. I had the grass successfully cut twice or maybe thrice. Most of my services were either skipped or worse yet, they were marked as completed and I was billed, when no service had been done. This would require me to waste my time calling these people trying to get my money back for services that were never done. The reason for this is that Lawnstarter (and their crews) cant handle the most basic of instructions. I have a gate, I live in the hood... SOOOO, my gate stays locked. Their expectation is that you leave your gate wide open during the 48 hour service window. Im not doing that. The service is based on an app, which allows you to put in instructions regarding your property. I entered this information myself. I left instructions in the application to be called upon the crews arrival, so that I could come out and open the gate. To my mind, a basic and reasonable request. Me or my SO were home during every single scheduled service. It took extensive messaging (via the app) between me and the crews to ever get this simple request (a 5 second phone call) accommodated. The next scheduled visit the crew would go right back to skipping services without attempting a call, despite the previous conversations. After having this problem multiple times, I called and the representative advised that they would make a note on the account reflecting this same information, and that the crew could not miss this information upon pulling up my property. Today, following another skipped service, I called and they said too bad, but the crews are not obligated to follow the instructions you provide them, but I could try switching crews once again and maybe, if I was lucky, I might get one that can accommodate my one simple request. I told them, you know what, never mind, Ill take my money elsewhere. I would recommend this service to no one at all. I guess if you dont have some crazy stuff like a gate on your property, it might work out okay. But as far as any instructions you give them regarding anything being followed, it is not happening. The whole point of getting your grass cut is convenience, and that is not what I got at all. Instead I gave myself a headache requiring multiple phone calls and messages to resolve. Im very confident that if I had called a lawn care service directly and set up a service with them (rather than using a middleman, which Lawnstarter effectively is) I would have no problem getting my one. simple. request accommodated. DO NOT USE LAWNSTARTER!!!!!!!!

I was very skeptical about LawnStarters at first. My original lawn service guy ended with disaster. When Lee arrived to my door, he was courteous by announcing he was here and went straight to mowing my lawn. Then he completed a weeding project and did simply an amazing job. I could not be more satisfied with the services provided by Lee. Highly recomnended!

Lawn starters has completed 2 services for me and I am very happy with Cathleen and her crew. The lawn looks very neat and tidy now & what an improvement in the flower bed! It was very overgrown & so was the lawn and now all looks great! Thank you Cathleen for a job well done!

Love the company and the services they provide! It is so easy to set up to have your lawn cut weekly or biweekly and the prices are great too. The guy that was assigned to do my lawn is Raymond, he does a great job every time he comes. If you haven t tried this service before I suggest you give it a try.

I am currently signed up for bi-weekly mowing, but this month I opted for a one-time full yard clean-up service, and I couldnt have asked for a better result. Roberto has done an excellent job for the second time. He did everything that needed to be done and with LawnStarter I didnt need to supervise or do the communicating. I can left all written instructions thru LawnStarters message service. Also, I dont need to be there to pay him in cash. LawnStarter simply charges my credit card after the service is done. The fee also was a little less the person who previously cut my lawn charged and required cash payment

I am an older gentleman and set in my ways. I am very very particular about my yard. Due to a recent shoulder surgery I have been unable to take care of yard. I tried paying a couple of past workers from where I had previously worked - very disappointing. I saw an add for LawnStarter and thought I would give it a try. Having won Yard of the Month previously, I was a little apprehensive. Before LawnStarter came out I received a call from Junior who introduced himself as the technician who would be taking care of my lawn - very impressive. Well, I laid it on him about how picky I am, Yard of the Month, etc. I am so impressed with Junior. I never thought I would find someone who was good as I was - well, Junior is OUTSTANDING. I am so blessed to have Junior take care of my yard. Even when I heal from my surgery, I am keeping Junior. Les in Sunfield, Buda

The only reason I knew he was there was because I walked out side and my lawn was cut, I slept right through the whole thing, twice so far. Lawnstarters ask for a 3 services commitment but the price is very affordable. Im sure my neighbors will be very happy, since my yards usually the bad looking one.

Charging me close to $100 to come mow a couple of small strips of grass and edge my ankle high bushes. Did a poor job at that. Grass is very uneven, lots of stray weeds left, edging inconsistent, clippings left everywhere. I expressed all of this to Juan after the first cut. Nothing was done to remedy the situation. Avoid.
