Absolute Landscaping in New Orleans

Poor customer service.

The Absolute Landscaping staff is always responsive, and they always do a great job in our beautiful yard at our vacation home in Uptown New Orleans. We have been using their services for many years!

I called to get someone to come out for an estimate on sodding, landscaping, fencing, and pergola installation. I was told I am outside their service area. A true New Orleans business that doesnt do business in all of New Orleans.

Jake worked with me when we have to move the planned project times. The team came out and was able to facilitate the work and a change order on the materials needed last minute! Great team and great value!

Does not appear to care about securing a client and stubborn about work time versus completing the job right and making a client happy. Crew calls a front yard a flower bed and refused to edge or clean leaves despite the contract stating so. Left the job unfinished, charged my card without my permission for work complete and no one responded during the day to make sure everything was done right. Disappointing.

I hired this company and did not have a good experience. While being out of town, which I had told them and therefor trusted them, they did not take good care of my lawn and garden. I was shocked when I came back! If you can not supervise the workers they send, do not hire them!

didnt do any weeding/flower maintenance even though i was paying for it. emailed me not even half way through the contract to let me know they were increasing the monthly rate or cancelling the contract (funny because if I tried to cancel it would be $$$). my target day was saturday, so basically my back yard was held hostage until they showed up which sucks for a weekend day. wasnt a hard decision to just let them cancel it. now i pay a guy from my neighborhood $5 less per trip and can schedule as needed.

Beware of this company! I was ignored after I tried to call and file a complaint about water from the subsurface drainage install not draining properly and all of the water is not exiting on to the street. I have to scoop out the water in the exit box out to the street. Awful company because they make sure that they take your money first and then ignore you if you file a complaint because they dont provide a guarantee on their work.

This company is the best! They show up consistently, rain or shine. I have watched them complete mowing and clean up TWICE by running to the truck and throwing on rain gear. Always pleasant and trustworthy too.

Hiring this lawn service was the worst experience I have ever had with a business. I was a loyal customer for nearly 2 years for lawn mowing services and had no real complaints other than the fact that they would move my trash cans into my neighbors yard and not put them back. This was an annoyance seeing as I was paying so much for this service but not a big deal. Then the front of my car was scratched during their service one day. It was a deep scratch that removed the paint and I was even home when it happened and saw my car immediately before and after they serviced my lawn. Communicating with the owner about this was an absolutely horrific experience seeing as he was completely irrational, antagonistic, and refused to take responsibility or even apologize. I filed a formal complaint through the Better Business Bureau (there are others there as well which I highly encourage you to read). Please be careful when considering this service- read previous reviews that were negative as my experience with the owner was very similar to theirs as well as lawsuits filed against this company all of which are public record.

This company will provide you with an estimate really fast, but when its time for actual service, the price will increase significantly!

UPDATE: prior to this incident, I paid a deposit of $180 for a job that has yet to be completed. I have sent several emails, a voicemail, and two text messages asking about the status of this job, and can not get a response. There are many inconveniences associated with using their weekly lawn service. First of all, they come whenever is good for them each week. This can mean they show up when you are entertaining in your yard, having a pool party, or sitting down with your family to eat dinner on the patio. They will not give you a heads up before coming (the Head Lawn Mower claimed this would increase their costs too much), & they will not commit to coming on a specific day of the week. Another problem is that you do not get the same crew each week, which means you never establish a rapport with the actual people doing your lawn, & the quality of work is inconsistent (for me, that was a problem with how well the sidewalks and pool deck were blown off). I stayed flexible with all of the above, even though it was a bit of an annoyance, because I liked a couple of the employess that I had chance to work with. There was probably also an element of acquiescence on my part because I did not want to deal with finding a different lawn company. The inconsistent quality of work, however, became increasingly frustrating to me with regard to how well my pool deck was blown off. Today a crew came and only serviced my front yard. Frustrated, I sent an email letting them know that once again my pool deck had not been adequately blown off, & asked if they could please come back & clean it up. The response I got from the Head Lawn Mower (Robert Rogers) was short, curtly stating that a note in the system said the dogs were in the backyard (my dogs being in the backyard had not ever prevented them from servicing my yard before this day). My request that they come back to clean it up was not acknowledged or addressed, and he was not apologetic in the least. Even more frustrated, I wrote back insisting that they return to clean off the pool deck, and pointed out that the dogs in the yard had not prevented the crew from doing their job in the past. I also expressed my frustration with having had no way of knowing when to put the dogs up in anticipation of their visits. The Head Lawn Mower responded to that email by calling me. Right off the bat, his tone was gruff and rude, he hardly said hello before steam rolling right into let me review our business policies with you, as if I had done something wrong by bringing up my concerns with him, and as if my frustrations had no merit and were out of line. He was not interested in working with me in any way to find a solution, he only wanted to prove me wrong for being frustrated in the first place. The conversation went down hill quickly, & when I asked that we please get to a solution, he replied that his solution was to cancel my maintenance contract. That was an ass-hole move in my opinion, this late into the summer, & when I told him that, he went after me for swearing. The conversation was extremely upsetting - I felt belittled and bullied by this man- I hung up the phone in tears. BUT, before I could hang up, he was quick to squeeze in some last minute verbiage offering to come finish todays job, and to help me find a new service- offerings that seemed extremely odd at that point, & was certainly not out of any level of benevolence on his part, only an effort to be able to claim he made this offer in the event that I should post a negative review. I NOW REALIZE THAT HEAD LAWN MOWER, ROBERT ROGERS, IS THE OWNER!!! Can not believe a business owner could possbily treat a customer the way I was treated. Absolute Lawn Care is ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH the price you pay to do business with them. I will most certainly be filing a complaint with the BBB because of this incident. And I now see, after some research, that my experience with this owner is not unique.

I hired them for the whole year and signed a contract, and in the middle of the year received and e-mail that my contract has changed and they would now charge me DOUBLE the amount that they initially asked me to pay. Very unprofessional, DO NOT HONOR CONTRACTS!

These guys were great. Professional, timely and they did a thorough job.

Absoulute garbage. Avoid them like the plague, seriously. See my review and pics on Yelp too. I requested landscsping and grass cut and got jipped on everything! I paid for a new garden and to fix the landscape in the front area of my yard. They DID NOT put any barrier under the mulch. They just dumped extra mulch on top of existing mulch. I paid for garden to be added in my backyard and side of my driveway. Again just dug a hole and thew down mulch; no barrier laid and weeds, grass, large ant piles just grew threw all of it. It is so horrible! Then I requested to have lawn care maintenance. This guy came through and cut the grass and left. No weed killer, edging, etc was done. It was so bad the only reason I knew that someone came out was because he left tracks from the riding lawnmower all over my driveway. I called about it and was told someone would be out the following Tuesday, just know as of this day no one ever came out. Seriously, do not use this service. They dont care about their customers, just their customers money.

I wouldnt recommend these people to anyone..they charge you for everything not professional plus they under pay their workers...I wish I could give them zero stars

Ok, so Im not sure what other services these guys provided for the positive reviews, but they were a terrible service provider for me. I contracted them to come and give me a quote for laying sod in my back yard. If I knew what I was paying for I would have hired a couple of guys from the neighborhood to do it. First they really want to lock you into a contract, I tried to talk to the landscape guy Reid about some items that he had told me I could get that werent on the contract, but wouldnt talk to me about the contract until I signed it. The guys came out and didnt do any of the items that Reid had told me were going to be included like pulling up an old irrigation system so I could run a new one. They also didnt roll the grass down and guess what, the sod can basically be pulled up in squares. They were supposed to sod around the pavers in my yard and it was a good thing that my wife was here, because they pulled them all up and laid them wherever. I contacted Reid a couple of days later to try and figure out what all went wrong and he didnt want to talk to me about the work. They double billed me for the delivery of the sod that they charged me for. They really really want you to also sign a contract for their lawn service too, which is really expensive and they nickel and dime you to death with any additional services, like trimming. Additionally, if you are unhappy with the work you have to tell them within 24 hours. I dont know about you but it usually take a couple of days if not a week to figure out if they did a nice job with some projects like sod. If it all dies, too bad you have to replace it all because theyre imbiciles. Pass on these guys, I would maybe get a referral through jefferson feed or someone you know well. Dont pay attention to these reviews they might have posted them themselves.

Quick response to my request for a quote. The actual quote took about ten minutes. I requested a quick turnaround that was unreasonable and they delivered. I would recommend them to anyone that needs their gardens and hedges spruced up. Jay

Once again I left a message and again got NO return call. This makes a total of six messages left with only one attempted call back from them. original review: Cant reach a live person. Got maybe one callback after four tries. I guess they got pissed after missing me that once, so they ignored the rest of my messages..

Working with Absolute Lawn Care was fantastic. My yard was a hot mess with the top 6+ needing remediation. They manually removed the material, filled it back in and laid sod. Throughout the whole process they were extremely knowledgeable, communicative and always on time. My yard looks wonderful and I couldnt be happier. Thanks again!

From the beginning, it was a pleasure doing business with Ben. For busy people, it is great to have someone available by email and he was very prompt in his responses. The crew worked hard and long in putting in a drainage system and some landscaping and we have been very pleased with the result! This has been a huge relief and solution to a longstanding problem. Absolute Lawn Care saved me from myself (and my brown thumb). My lawn stays short and pretty, my garden bed is flourishing, the Ligustrum and Asian Jasmine (oh THATS what that is) out front have made my neighbors envious, and both sales and crew were a pleasant surprise. Go local and call these guys so your house looks as pretty as mine.

In April of 2011, we decided to remove all the over-grown landscaping that had been done many years earlier. Having a clean slate to work with, we didnt exactly know where to begin. We found Absolute Lawn Care on the internet. After sending an e-mail, we quickly received a response from Ben. We scheduled an appointment, which he made convenient to our work schedules. He had a vision and promptly created a drawing, while explaining what each plant/bush would look like. On a time-line convenient for us, we had an entirely new landscaped home. Being on a corner lot, meant there was plenty of landscaping to do. Not only has everything continued to grow and become even more beautiful, the maintenance provided has been the best. With every two week visits, everything always looks perfect. Customer service has been excellent. Couldnt ask for anything/anyone better!

Absolute Lawn Care turned my scraggly citrus tree into a beautiful, thriving tree. Their service was prompt, friendly and affordable. The invoicing system is VERY user friendly. I will definitely call them again for my lawn needs.

We had a bunch of work in our backyard done, and Robert took really good care of us. We had a couple of trees removed, the yard elevated, and landscaping done, and all of our preferences and requests were addressed. Most impressive were: (1) the timeliness of the work (2) Roberts attention to detail/responsiveness. In terms of #1, the bulk of the work was done in a week. As for #2, Robert literally came to make sure everything was OK with our landscaping DURING Hurricane Isaac. Very pleased.

Absolute Lawn Care is the best! I found them on Angies list and sent an e-mail requesting someone to call me. Ben called within a few minutes and that was the start to a great relationship of amazing customer service. Absolute Lawn Care comes to my house every two weeks to maintain my yard. They leave a note stating what they have done and make suggestions when I need mulch, fertilizer, etc. My entire property is fenced with a locked gate. They are so trustworthy they have a key to the gate. All of the employees are professional and courteous. More than once, they have carried in my groceries for me! That is what I call service! Honestly, they are amazing and I highly recommend Absolute Lawn Care.
