We’re a full service landscape design, build, and property maintenance company based in Solebury Township, Pennsylvania. Established in 1984, we’ve been serving the Bucks County, PA and Hunterdon County, NJ communities for 40 years. We’re proud of the work we’ve done beautifying hundreds of properties in the small historic towns along our stretch of the Delaware River. Our business has grown exclusively through referrals and word of mouth recommendations from our extensive network of established customers. Bluestone is an exceptional choice for landscaping and hardscaping. They are collaborative, detail-oriented, timely, and easy to work with. We had their team out to tackle a challenging hardscaping project as well as multiple softscaping and landscaping requirements from a designer. They executed flawlessly, left the job site neat every single day, showed up on time but not too early, and delivered a beautiful end result without us needing to manage the project at all. In our particular case Bluestone and team were recommended to us by a landscape architect who focuses on native and natural plantings, but it is clear they have extensive range across a variety of styles. Matt Stachel of PLS created a lovely landscape installation (plantings, new mailbox, and corner fences) that has enhanced the curb appeal of our home. Matt and PLS treated every facet of the project with outstanding care and professionalism. Matt promptly visited our property, listened attentively to our ideas and questions, and created a detailed proposal with a range of options that beautifully reflected our vision. He helped us select the perfect plantings for our setting and was very flexible in adjusting the plan when we chose to add a few elements. Matt is now bringing his talent to our new landscaping project: creating almost 2000 feet of walking trails on our property. Matt’s expert recommendations, clarity of communication, and positive energy again brought our ideas to life. The final project is impressive—at once grand and natural—beautifully integrated with the landscape, and perfect in every detail.
Our backyard was a mess: rocks, stumps, old concrete masonry units all broken up laying about (previous owner, not us!) and a 4' high berm running through the back making it extremely difficult to use; Matt & his team cleaned up the rocks, stumps, concrete and cut down the berm, put in 60-80' of boulder retaining wall (I originally called with the idea of doing a timber wall, but the boulders are far more impressive and natural in the woodland setting) and filled in with 125 yds of topsoil to make it overall leve; they then built us a bocce court complete with gravel foundation, drainage, 6"x6" frame and filled it all in with a mix of polymer fill that provides a firm playing surface that will require minimal upkeep; they prepped the topsoil, grading it away from the house and put down seed. It is still just a dirt field, but it is 1000% times better than it was, and in a few weeks we will have a grass filled back yard that my wife won't be afraid to go out into. Matt kept us informed about the status & what was going to be done each day (had a couple poor days of weather); it's a tough location that they couldn't necessarily get the big trucks to, so they made do with what they had, kept the runoff from the neighbors and pressure washed the street when they were done. Overall, they left the place looking far, far better than before they arrived. That is the sad part, no matter how good it looks now, people that didn't see the mess it was to begin with will have no appreciation for the work Matt & his team put in! PLS built a custom retaining wall with natural rock in our back yard. Matt took into consideration our future plans and current issues with water/drainage to create a completely new back yard for us. The quality of the construction is exceptional and the entire team was wonderful to work with. We look forward to seeing what they do with phase two!
We are beyond thrilled to have found Matt and Professional Landscaping, Inc. While we are in the beginning stages of our landscape design for our backyard paradise with our new swimming pool, I am confident Matt and his crew will be amazing. I was in a jam and needed to have a couple of my new trees relocated before the pool install. Matt was great and he and his guy took extra care and dug up and moved my trees. They gave me a fair price and I was happy with the results. I'm excited to see what Matt will design for our new backyard and feel very confident the rest of this journey will be professional and most likely more than I expected, because that is who Matt is as a person and a professional. On a sidenote, I observed a really nice quality in Matt and the way he supports and teaches his crew to do different things and makes them feel appreciated. That right there is an awesome quality! We recently bought a house built in 1841 which was in dire need of some foundation repair and waterproofing. While we thought we would just need some landscaping, we worked with Matt for an assessment - he was extremely thorough, even reaching out to historical restoration experts for advice on our particular situation. Despite the recommendation of a French drain and foundation restoration being about four times the cost we were anticipating for what we expected to be a much smaller project, we could not be more confident in our decision after seeing the exterior condition. Matt was extremely helpful throughout the entire process, and our foreman, Bene and his crew, were absolutely delightful to have onsite for the three week project - even making suggestions unrelated to this project that ended up saving us a good bit of money. They left the site super clean with clear instructions on follow up. Truly can not recommend this team highly enough - looking forward to working on several other projects down the line with the PLS!
We are very pleased with the design by Matt and work done by his men. Matt was on site every day up to three times a day, answered all our questions and made sure we understood the process. The men performing the work were very friendly, liked our four labs and cleaned up every night before calling it a day. We had requested that the men be done and gone from the premises by 5 PM and they kept with this request. We cannot thank them enough for making our walkway, front landing and patio beautiful. Great experience from start to finish. We didn t know how big or small our job would be as we could not figure out our vision. Rebecca their Landscaping designer met with me; and was such a pleasure to work with. I gave her our budget and we worked together to figure out what would work best! Clear communication through the process. The Landscapers who are completed the work were professional and very respectful! Would absolutely recommend.
Jeff helped redesign our landscape with the goals of reducing bed sizes, low maintenance, and beautiful, simple plant materials. We loved the design proposal from the beginning and the entire process, start to finish, exceeded our expectations. Jeff and his team are punctual, professional, and stand by their work. We are extremely pleased and looking forward to starting phase II with them soon.

PLS just completed installing a patio and landscaping in our backyard. We are extremely pleased with the service and professionalism of the staff. Matt created a design that is unique and aesthetically pleasing,. He listened to our ideas, asked us questions about how we envisioned using the patio. His design was a product of our dialogue. PLS used Techno Bloc pavers; and the landscaping complements the patio design. The installation crew were hardworking, and cleaned up at the end of the day (they were on site three days. They knew their craft and set the pavers efficiently in an eye catching design using different sizes and shades of color. We have already received many positive comments from our neighbors. Thank you PLS for working with us to create a wonderful outdoor space.
The name says it all! Very professional job, well done, and on time. Our landscape looks better than it ever has. The owner Peter had done some work for us here on our lot more than 20 years ago before we built our house, so when it came time to begin working with a professional service, we naturally came back, and werent disappointed. PLS Landscape provided excellent response time and turnaround with a quote. I called over a dozen places and most did not even respond. Although I did not use them for the job because my budget was tight it was clear that they do top notch work. I wanted to write this review because I appreciate that Matt/PLS responded so quickly and was very professional. If budget were not a concern I would have easily gone with PLS.
I just cant say enough good things about PLSBlue. What an incredible experience! I was completely blown away from start to finish. My project was to add a stone patio around my house. I really wanted something unique that looked like it was always there, something special. I didnt know what that would look like and how I would express it to Matt our PLSBlue designer who headed my project. But given Matts ability to ask the right the right questions, give honest answers and his unbelievable design talent, he magically created a design that fit ME. He even incorporated into the design my boulderous landscape by using what was already there. The workers were amazingly professional, efficient and before leaving each day always cleaned up and made sure I was able to get around the job. I didnt realize how much more I could LOVE my house. In the wake of Ida, several stone walls on my property were totally destroyed. One wall was washed into my neighbor s lawn and I needed someone to come remove stones blocking a waterway and restack part of the stone wall. Otherwise, the next rain storm would surely flood my neighbor s property. I reached out to PLS in the evening and promptly received a call back from Matt Stachel. Matt visited my property and gave me a quick and very fair estimate that night. He was able to get a crew in there the following morning. The work was done, as promised, within a single day and Matt even took care of a few extra issues for me. He s an excellent communicator and he clearly documented every phase of the job s progress through completion. There were no surprises along the way. The PLS team and Matt really came through for me and I was relieved to one big problem resolved so quickly. Kudos to a great company! I d use them again in a heartbeat.
