Lawn Doctor has come to our house multiple times - putting down grass seed, fertilizer and chemicals to kill grubs. There has been a big improvement. The staff is prompt, efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend.
Four months ago, I reached out to Doctor Lawn's office for a quote on backyard services. Despite my hesitation due to negative reviews, their representative offered me a complimentary first-time service to showcase their quality of work, with no obligation to continue unless I was satisfied. However, the briefness of the service—barely two minutes for a substantial area of over 2,500 sq ft—prompted me to decide against further services from them. Despite this, I was billed $103 for what was supposed to be a free trial. When I contested the charge, reminding them of their initial offer, they denied the existence of such a promotion and proceeded to send the bill to collections. This experience has shown me that the company may not be as trustworthy as one would hope, and I caution others to be wary when engaging with them.
Horrible Service recently. I have been using Lawn Doctor for quite some time here in Middlesex County, but this year I had a dreadful experience. Techs are very inexperienced and ill-informed. The tech is telling me that it is my responsibility to fertilize the lawn. Incorrect, my services include all weed control and fertilization. I understand dead grass could be a result of heat stress and numerous factors, but I am also convinced their inexperienced workers don't know what they are doing. Still doesn't explain why my lawn is full of various weeds. This will be the last season I will use Lawn Doctor, time to switch to another company.
Lawn doctor just came by To treat my neighbors lawn. As stated by a previous reviewer, I am assuming that they notified the customer that they would be Coming for service today. The technician opted to park in front of my home and Place his ramp on my freshly sodded lawn with a bag of seeds. I’m assuming to complete the work next door. When I saw this, I took a photo first then I went outside and remove the ramp from the freshly laid sod and the bag of seed. I waited for the technician to complete his task And asked him if he noticed that the lawn Next to the one he just treated had sod laid down. He did NOT answer my question. I then stated to him that it would’ve been better option to move his car forward my neighbors driveway. (There were no cars parked in the driveway) So that he could put his ramp down and place his bag seed there so he would not impact the neighbors around him. He never made eye contact. He did apologize and said he was leaving now. I thought to myself if lawn. Dr. is trying to gain my business,, this tech did not make a Positive impact on me. I’m waiting for a callback now. Lawn Doctor of Somerset has been maintaining my lawn for over 3 years. I used to have a different lawn care prior to them. Ever since I switched to Lawn Doctor my lawn is lush and weed free. They text you the previous day to let you know that they will be coming. The technicians are polite and respectful of your property. I highly recommend Lawn Doctor of Somerset you will not be disappointed!
I have never used a service such as this before. I noticed my neighbor used Lawn Doctor and her lawn looked great. I called and set up a program with Lawn Doctor and noticed a difference in my lawn within weeks. They notify when they will be coming and the the info on the technician. I am very satisfied with Lawn Doctor. I would do this myself with the Scott’s program. This service costs about the same as buying the lawn treatments and I don’t have to lug the bags or do the work! Highly recommend Lawn Doctor!
Excellent service. I had never used a lawn service before. To put it bluntly my lawn was a mess, an embarrassment. I contacted lawn doctor and they advised me that although I missed power seeding season, they could start treatment. By late summer, the lawn was better but far from stellar. On Sept 6 I had the lawn power seeded. I watered it per the instructions. I have never had a more verdant lawn. It is full and looks amazing. If you follow the instructions you will get results. I did some prep as well removing as much crabgrass as I could. I believe the treatments and power seeding brought back my front lawn. The price is very reasonable and the results are fantastic.
I started my service with Lawn Doctor just a month and a half ago, and in that little time, I have seen such a vast improvement. My lawn has never been so green and lush and full. The weeds are almost non-existent. I can't wait to see the results after a full year of service! The workers are always pleasant and willing to answer any questions I have.

Always have been right with the weather and not like my neighbors lawn care service just before the storms that wash away the service. My lawn looks great and Im able to enjoy being outdoors in my yard, which I could not do for years! I am a very happy customer.
I have never worked with a company that is so dishonest. Hired them to kill off the entire grass, but they did all but what we asked for. Every call made sure they were going to kill the grass, but eventually figured out they were doing altogether a different process. Pascal even blamed us, saying we were lying of the process and claimed to have all the call recordings. When asked for recordings, they came back saying there is a miscommunication. Now that there is proof of their wrongdoing, they are not answering the calls. Every time we call, he is either with a different customer or on the road and never calls back. Before replying saying that we never called, you should have all the call recordings, so please go through them before coming back and saying we are lying.

Anywhere you see the green thumb flag you re likely to see a nice green lawn. That s why I hired them. Their bug control is noticeably effective as well.

Update - now with them 5 years and still have no complaints. They are even treating my dreaded bent grass this season. Been using Lawn Doctor for 4 years now, major difference in my lawn with there products compared to what I would buy from Home Depot. Signed up for there Mosquito control 2 years ago mainly to control Lantern Flies and only saw 1 LF this season. The service technicians are always very professional and informative when I have questions.

I had Lawn Care come and put down my first application. Their machine malfunctioned and it burned my grass in several spots. I called. They apologized and promptly came to dig up the small areas and re-seeded it. They made no excuses as some companies would have done. They fixed it. Kudos to Lawn Care!

Haven t met anyone, except by email. However, I m impressed with response to my emails. My Grass looks great with the weed control, however I m starting to see weeds grow, although I ve only had one application service so far out of six. Wish they had a system that provided me a date on when they d be at my house. I m a planner and always want to see the person that is providing the service, guess I m old school in that way. They only provide an email that same day they will come out. Overall, the business is on top of their game.

I started using Lawn Doctor two years ago, after marginal success in maintaining my lawn on my own and through local landscaping companies. Currently, my lawn looks better than it ever has. Rich, thick and even. It is surprising, to me, how a series of their applications has so dramatically helped my lawn and I do recommend them. You need to give it some time, but the end result may surprise you if you have had limited success in the past. It certainly surprised me.

Service was completed on Halloween. It is always stated to not walk on grass for 24 hours. It is a holiday where people I do not know are walking on my property. Impossible to prevent them from walking on the grass. The service should not have been done on this day.

Save your money! Yard actually look worse. When i spoke with Manager about dissatisfaction of results met with nothing but excuses. Spent over 1200$ for power seeding and treatment. Not one bare spot has grown grass after following there recommendation. I had concerns that they did application during heavy rains and they promised me it wouldn t effect results. All im left with is heavy ruts in our yard with no grass, and out all the investment. Dont waste your time or money with this company.

My front lawn has been in trouble for years. Lawn doctors power seed and the subsequent lawn care makes it look a lot better.
Been using them for 2 years now. After the first two treatments I immediately saw a difference. My front yard is immaculate. My backyard on the other hand has not had the same results as the front. I ve had a few issues with Lawn Doctor about them not doing the full property, the power seeding not taking successfully in my backyard, and raising their prices and every time I speak to them, the people on the phone are rude and accusatory. If it wasn t for me having the nicest front yard in the block, I would not be using them. But at this point, my yard is more important than customer service. Just disappointing that my backyard doesn t have the same results and the fact that they don t seem interested in customer service.
Quality of product is great. Lawn looks beautiful, but I take issue with when they clean up. The previous person for this franchise would use a leaf blower to clean up on the walk ways, I thought that was a great idea and added a professional touch.

I have lawn doctor service for many many years. Before getting their service I spent hundreds of dollars to keep lawn weeds free but no results. Once I hired lawn doctor my lawn has no weeds problem, thicker and green grass. Lawn doctors staff is very courteous and knowledgeable. They send an email day before lawn service, If you don t want service that particular day due to any reason they will re-schedule very gladly for next visit. I highly recommend this company and their service! My lawn has been under their care for several years now. My lawn is green and weed free each season. I receive a notice the day before arrival. This is handy if Im watching any pets so they do not become exposed. The treatment is quick and I notice results that are explained on the notice afterwards. If their is a problem they do not hesitate to address. I never have any chemical burnouts or any issues with them.

Wish I could put zero stars. I do not recommend their mosquito service at all. They come to my yard, fake spray for two seconds, then leave. Bugs still eating us up like we are the flowers.

We love the service, fertilizations, weed and bug control. We were not as pleased with the power seeding as last years application though. Many spots missed and did not grow. No seedlings at all and bare spots. I was told this will be rectified in the spring. Other than that, great service.

I have had Robert and his team for the last 3 years doing weed control and fertilization. I have the most beautiful lawn on my block and have gotten compliments from my neighbors. I have been using Lawn Doctor for the last two years. I should say, they are OK but not great. I don t understand why they have several services like pest control, weed control, sod etc., When we want our lawn to look good, they should handle fertilizer that contains weed and pesticide control and turf building combined. Also they should be able to hell with providing some seed for patch work where some small patch of grass is damaged as a bald spot. If they cannot do that, I don t understand how they can be qualified as.a lical small business who are friendly. They act like any other corporation who goes by strict profit oriented rules by book. I am not saying they are bad. They are good and deliver the services they promise. Bottom line to have a green lawn one has to irrigate it properly in summer. I recommend Lawn doctor without hesitation.

First application was good. Second left something to be desired. I said I wasnt happy but nothing done to satisfy me. I think the tech was in too much of a hurry. Did not spread product around edges.

I used lawn Doctor services and I am a happy customer for over 3 years. Our lawn looks lot nicer and greener after switching from TruGreen. I even saw my neighbors starting to use lawn Doctor services. They are always very professional, prompt in response, give you an advance notice when they come for service. They also come back and review the lawn if the problem is not resolved after their application. I will recommend this business to anyone who would like to have a beautiful lawn.
I have been using Lawn Dr for more than 30 years. The company that does my Landscaping has been trying to take over the Lawn Dr work for just about the same amount of time. My comment to them has been. I have no reason to change, Lawn Dr has been doing a GREAT job.

At first they charged me a fee in which they said it included everything, but when they did not show up on time, and I did not see them at my home. But when I called them, they told me that they already came and did their service. I did not see any difference, so I had called them, and they told me that I needed to pay an extra fee for more services that they before told me was included. When I told them that I wanted to cancel, they got very aggressive with me on the phone as well. Don t use this service.

Used them for 1 service and the whole process back and forth with the sales manager to signing up and first service was awesome, wish they had tree and shrub care which I need but they don t offer, which is why I went with another well reputable company, green lawn Fertilizing and they have good pricing for all services.
They come out and do our fertilizations and weed control. They also come out for our yard guard against pest especially tick and mosquitos. Since we have had the service our grass is very green, and full. The bugs have been under control so now we can enjoy our outdoor patio and deck areas. Friendly, clean and thorough.

I had a weed issue on my entire back lawn and they cleared it up after only one visit. I also called them a few times prior and they were extremely professional, friendly and helpful.
The maintanence program is great. If I have a nutsedge problem they camee back even if the initial treatment needed was done. They never questionedmy assessment of the lawn. We have gotten many compliments on how well our lawn looked.

Our service started fine up until the 3rd month when my husband and I started receiving emails stating that they couldnt provide service because our back door was locked when it wasnt. At first we didnt think too much into it, but it became more and more frequent. We installed cameras all over our backyard and front lawn and discovered that they werent even coming, yet our service was continuously cancelled because the back door was locked. I cancelled their services.

This is our 2nd year using Lawn Doctor. We could not be happier with their service. Our yard is almost an acre in size and we couldnt keep up with its care. Our lawn has never looked better. I hired them for repairing my lawn with their seeding operation and the lawn has been restored to almost 100% now. A few patches remain but overall very good. The weed control program is also effective and lawn is weed free. The technicians coming in (particularly John Johnson) are good, give suggestions and do a thorough job. Recommend them

Lawn Doctor has provided our house with weed control for years. They are reliable and follow special requests consistently (They stay out of the backyard because of our dog). They always notify us when they will be coming so we can make sure we didnt leave any sports equipment out. Cant beat it!
I have been using Lawn Doctor for a number of years for weed & feed applications. They leave me a voicemail a day or two before and leave a detailed report of the service they performed. Lawn Doctor has been very dependable and the prices are right.
Unfortunately I was told that my yard had received its treatment last year when in fact it had not. Had I not been home on that particular day and witnessed the technician do half of the yard I would have been billed for the entire yard treatment. I no longer trust this company and have been trying to cancel ever since. I was just told in order to cancel someone must call me back. It sounds like I am going to have to reach out to the Better Business Bureau in order to cancel this service before it starts for the upcoming year.
Our friends and neighbors always tell us how green our lawn looks. We are very pleased with the service and results. They notify us ahead of the scheduled visit. They do their job and leave us a write-up of the visit and also send it to our phone and email. They do an excellent job. Thank you.
UPDATE!! Lawn doctor responded to my review very quickly and sent a technician to evaluate my lawn. The technician was very courteous and seemed knowledgeable. He even went through my yard and planted seed in all my bare spots. We will see how it grows in but the important thing is THEY MADE IT RIGHT!! To be clear, the power seeding was the only service I was unhappy with. The regular maintenance has been great and I ve noticed a real difference in my lawn in general. So far I m not overly impressed with my service. I started approx 1 year ago. Last October I paid for a power seeding. Was a complete waste of money. Also had them seed a month ago. I m told by my neighbor that the guy does not even cover my entire yard. I contacted lawn doctor a few times and they were not interested in my issue. Their guarantee that if your not happy they will come back and fix it is a joke. Might want to look elsewhere for your lawn needs.
This was my second application for the season. I had not used Lawn Doctor for quite a few years. I am so happy to be back. Neighbors come by and admire my lawn. Great value for the money!
In my opinion, they are middle of the road, I have continued to renew due to a discount to renew but they have done nothing beyond what the have been paid to do and have not impressed me with their service. They provide plenty of notices (voicemail and email) but often cancel due to weather or other issues. Have killed grass in spots within the yard by spilling fertilize. Of course, they are always trying to sell additional services which I have no interest in entertaining unless they can do what I am paying them to do correctly.
i like the schedule and info of the service by lawn doctor technicians after the job is complete. However, i do see some areas of the lawn with patches and i wish that something be done to fix this issue.

Very unhappy with their service and the results. My lawn was lush green at the beginning of the year. But after their second service, I started seeing my lawn dry and die in patches (not sure if they put excessive fertilizer). When I called them to take a look before this years heat wave, the reason I was given was excessive water. I was asked to change my sprinkler schedule and duration. I did that but no change in the lawn. They dont show up for my next service for several weeks (Ive prepaid on their yearly plan). I have to call them to complain about the lawn and ask when is my next service due. At that time, they say it is scheduled for tomorrow!!! No advance notice for service?! Seemed to me they put me on service because I called! Anyway, on this next appointment, the new guy says the lawn is dying because of the heat wave AND that I have bent grass in my lawn, which dies with heat. Solution this guy gave was to rebuild the entire lawn, with thousands of dollars in cost. It is ridiculous, theyll blame on everything else for their failures / unprofessional service. Ill never recommend their service to anyone.
I used them for 3 years but this year the grass got damaged with bare spots all over after weed killer application. My neighbor grass which uses another company has no damage whatsoever and we give the same amount of water. Lawn doctor response is that seeding is needed. Not happy with what they did this year.
I have used this company for 3 years now and I love it. If after they do a treatment u still have bugs, they will come again for free. Great company!

Great service and the lawn looks great. Bought the house 2 years ago, lawn was Eh...ok looking. Lawn Doctor came in this Summer 2020 and did their thing...nice, green and plush. Had a large tree removed from the front lawn leaving a 36 circle of dirt. After a few sessions, grass is now growing and you cant even tell there was a tree there. Definitely plan on using next year again!!

Our yard had patchy grass and was almost entirely overtaken by weeds, when we contacted Lawn Doctor this April. Its December, and there is no empty patch in our yard and it is beautiful, lush green everywhere. Highly recommend their services.
My front lawn was treated and looked manicured. Back yard did not need treatmebt as no lawn, but charged for whole property. No discounts for front lawn only. Always had perimeter weeds, I always called about this issue for 2 years to pay attention. , Will use another service in 2021

I have been using Lawn Doctor of SE Mercer & Middlesex County for almost 20 years. My very sunny southern exposure backyard grass is always greener and weed free compared to my neighbors on either side (without any irrigation/sprinkler system installed). The technicians are very helpful, always quick to point out issues during the season and safety is a priority for them. Lastly the cost of annual service has not increased dramatically over the years making it one of the best values in the industry.
So far so good as I am still evaluating the quality of service from this provider as I have only had two applications and I feel as though it s too early to give an honest assessment of the service that the company provides. So the jury is still out and I will be commenting again on the companies quality of service later on down the road.
My Lawn Doctor is always evaluating my grass and always makes great suggestions on how to take care of the lawn.
