We would 110% recommend Croatan Landscaping Company! First and foremost, Nate responded to my initial online inquiry regarding an urgent drainage matter almost immediately (on a Saturday)! It may have been 10-15 minutes, tops! He made a site visit to our home 48 hours later, as did another drainage professional on his team. He gave us several different options for the project - (1) to tackle the immediate problem and (2) to tackle the immediate problem AND have our yard properly regraded and re-sodded, so that everything would come together in an effective, efficient and beautiful manner. We chose option 2, and we have no regrets. The outcome was outstanding! Throughout the process, Nate and his team of professionals were responsive and very communicative, as we had a lot of questions (we're landscaping rookies in many ways). They were always happy to help give feedback and guidance every step of the way. The entire team was friendly and so hard-working! They made the most of every moment they were onsite! On the day the project was to be finished, they were here at 6am to get the ball rolling, since the forecast called for heavy rain later that afternoon (the first rain we've seen in what seems like weeks). They finished around 3pm, and around 5pm, the most wonderful storm rolled up and thoroughly drenched our beautiful, newly-laid sod. The project and the timing came together so beautifully. It was a true blessing - just like Nate and his team. If we have any additional landscaping projects in the future, they will be our one and only call. Hats off to Nate and the Croatan crew! True professionals, through and through!
The landscape design was done beautifully. All questions were answered, and the work was done on schedule. Nathan informed us of any weather delays and used care to use equipment mats to prevent lawn damage. All plants and trees were planted with care per the design layout look great improving our property. Overall, we are very satisfied using Croatan Landscaping Co for our landscaping needs and highly recommend them as a reputable contactor.
Nate and team did an amazing job on a complicated wish list. They added beautiful, colorful privacy shrubs between tall pines behind our home. They removed sickly rose bushes and added crepe myrtles in the front. They removed an old fire pit and box garden to create a beautiful bed. They connected all of our rain gutter downspouts to underground drainage away from the foundation. Wonderful design ideas, written estimate, great communication, and fantastic cleanup of all areas involved. Thank you!

Oh my goodness my yard has never looked so good! We recently had them landscape our yard and from concept, to contracted approval, to digging up the yard to a beautiful yard they were punctual and professional. I’m so happy with everything they did and I can’t wait to do more! Update!!!! We did more and it’s even better than the original! He custom built me the most beautiful arbor you have ever seen and is trellising jasmine( my favorite❤️) such a great company can’t say enough!
Nate and his crew installed sod in a large area of my front yard in the Spring of 2019 following the removal of some large trees. They showed up as promised and completed the task on time and at the agreed price. I was impressed with the care they took to prep the area and lay the sod. The sod quickly established, and turned out beautifully.
Nate and his crew did a fabulous job repairing hurricane damage in my backyard. My backyard is not easily accessible and so they had to drive over my neighbor’s yard. They repaired any ruts that their machinery made to my neighbor’s yard. They arrived when they said they would, did all the work on the estimate, and then contacted me several days later to make sure everything was OK. I would definitely recommend this company for any landscaping job.
I recommend them for any landscaping needs! I submitted my request for a quote and got a response in less than 30 minutes. Nate came to my house 4 days later with his recommendations and provided several quotes to give me options. I got the quotes within 24-48 hours. Nate was available to come very quickly to complete the landscaping. Nate and the crew were on time and began working right away. They had 27 6 ft. Green Giant Aborvitae trees planted in one day!!! I decided a few days after the trees were planted that I wanted Nate and his crew to bring and distribute mulch, which they did within a week after I requested this. They were so professional and friendly and even gave our dogs some pets. I was very happy with every part of the process and will definitely hire them again should I need their services. I felt that their prices were very fair and was confident with Nate's knowledge of what trees he recommended. Nate also sent us an article and video that explained what he told us about the trees and care for them. I was happy to have this to review in case I needed it for future reference. You don't need to look at any other landscaper to compare. This is the one to choose, hands down!!

GUYS WHERE PROFESSIONAL......THANKS NATHAN...
Hired this company based on the owner stating that they provided professional trimming of landscaping plants. We hired them for a professional trimming and cleaning out beds of monkey grass, azaleas, Burford Holly, and roses, as well as cleaning out small volunteer trees in beds. Was told they know how to trim the various shrubs and plants in our yard. They DO NOT! Volunteer trees removed looked like they were hacked out with machetes! I studied horticulture in college and have owned a landscaping business. Croatan Landscaping Companys version of knowing when to trim various plants is to hit them all with a gas powered hedger and hedge everything during winter! They scalped our azaleas, oleander, and nandina leaving ugly pikes with mangled ends (cutting the end of nandina effectively kills the stalk by the way!). The estimate of 8 hours of work ended up being about 3 total hours of work; driving time, breaks, and lunchtime are included in quote I guess. If you hire them be aware that you are not paying for straight up time work is being done. This was determined after many texts with owner. At NO TIME did we receive a phone call to discuss our extreme dissatisfaction with the job performed. Very disappointed in the quality and amount of work. Giving them two stars only because the workers were polite and because the owner finally offered to come back to complete the job. Honestly after seeing the type of job they did, I didnt want them back on our property and just decided to take the loss. We are also at fault because they were released before making sure that they completed everything to our satisfaction. I was unable to verify everything prior to them leaving because I was at work when they left. Please be careful hiring this company! Trimming and pruning to them means hedging! They are NOT the same thing, also their use of estimating software will leave you on the short-end of the actual amount of work getting done.
I couldn t be more pleased with the job they did on my driveway. The price was really fair and the results were amazing. I would recommend Croatan Landscaping to anyone. Definitely a great company and people.
I have lived in Carolina Colours for 10 years and water drainage has always been a problem...I have spent time and money previously with little results. Nate and his team gave suggestions to help and after just two days of work, water off the roof is now in the creek beside us. Guys were on time, responsive to any questions, on time and yes a good value for the money spent. I will also be doing sod work with Nate as soon as the weather permits. Would totally recommend Croatan Landscaping for any of your landscaping needs.

I give Croatan Landscaping ten stars. They have done work at my old house and now, at our new home. They pulled up and hauled away massive old shrubs, trimmed other shrubs and hedges, created a lovely space for my mailbox garden, edged in stones, planted mail-order plants, planted azaleas which they brought to us, and pulled weeds and put down mulch! They are a well trained team.

The work was done in a timely manner. Great quality work. I was very impressed that this company is licenced since most smaller landscaping companys are not, it made me feel at ease! The employees are very professional. The owner Nathan Ellis was a pleasure to work with and got his hands dirty along side his employees. Overall a great experience!
