We ve used The Narrow Lane since they started. This spring s project involved replacing foundation plantings in the front of the house and replacing the grass in the small back yard with wildflowers. From the design process with Nicole and Brendan to the installation with the crew under their direction all went beyond our expectations. They listen, they adjust, they clean up, they re great to work with.

The Narrow Lane designed and installed new landscaping, bluestone and lighting for our front yard. Despite having to resolve issues over the following season, The Narrow Lane kept true to their word and handled every frustration. We now have a landscape that we are proud of and enjoy every day.

We contacted Narrow Lane with some ideas of how we wanted to change our backyard and front yard, but they helped to transform them into a beautiful space beyond our expectations. We had an uneven backyard covered in crabgrass, surrounded by a broken fence. The driveway was 40 years old, with more crabgrass covering the front yard. The Narrow Lane team executed flawlessly, including leveling the backyard, a new paved patio with a pergola, a new fence, electrical work and irrigation, a new driveway, a porch refresh, and a beautiful front yard. Matt and his team were very professional and mindful of our neighbors, not leaving debris behind. They worked meticulously without cutting corners. We hired The Narrow Lane to redo our backyard and driveway. Before starting the project, we had a sloped yard that was overgrown with shrubs with little to no usable space. We didn t know what was possible, but after talking to Ron began to understand its potential. Over the course of the next few months, Ron and his team completely transformed our yard into a serene outdoor living area. I hired the Narrow Lane to help me with a landscape design for my yard and I am thrilled with the plan they created for me! I moved into a new construction home recently and the yard is a completely blank slate. I dont have the budget to hire landscapers to do everything for me so I want to do much of the labor myself. However, I am a novice gardener so I wanted help envisioning a design and pointing me in the right direction. I filled out the consultation form on their website, and the owner Ron reached out promptly to schedule a call and discuss my needs. I had debated going with a virtual design company such as Yardzen, but after speaking with Ron, I knew I made the right choice going with a local company. Ron and the landscape designer Alison came out to my property to get a feel for the space and understand my vision. I showed them inspiration pictures and what elements I wanted for the yard. They also had someone come out and take exact measurements of the property. Alison is a true artist! She understood my vision and created beautiful 2D and 3D renderings for me to reference. She also listed all of the plants and materials I will need and exactly where to put them. For $1500, I think this is a great deal, and I am very happy with the excellent services they provided (Yardzen charges about the same and they dont have someone come out in person)! Alison also offered to go to the plant store with me this summer and pick out plants together. The whole team is super professional and they seemed really excited to work on this project with me! I highly recommend the Narrow Lane.

The Narrow Lane does amazing work! Jeremy really brought our vision to life and broke the entire design down into digestible phases that wouldn t break the bank. The crew showed up early one Monday and we re done the following Monday. Professional and communicative from start to finish. Can t wait to have them back for the next phases of our project.

We really love the work the narrow lane did to replace our front lawn with more drought resistant plants. It looks beautiful and we love to sit out on the front porch and watch the bees buzzing around on our flowers. Jeremy did a great job providing exactly what we wanted, and he was very responsive and professional, which I appreciated. We re satisfied and would highly recommend!

The Narrow Lane was fabulous to work with, and their results exceeded my expectations! They installed beautiful granite-slab steps connecting my upper front yard with my lower back yard, and the result is gorgeous -- the talk of the neighborhood. We used Narrow Lane for a new stone patio and firepit in our yard. The process was seamless, starting with a custom design consult. They were professional, courteous and very communicative throughout the project. We worked with the Narrow Lane to completely renovate and redesign our lot after a major construction project. The landscape architect (Alison Williams) was a pleasure to work with; she is very professional, creative and attentive to our requirements and came up with a final design that perfectly compliments the lot and the house as a whole. My wife and I worked with The Narrow Lane in Summer and Fall 2023 on an extensive landscaping and hardscaping project. The crew was meticulous and did a fantastic job redesigning our backyard and patio area, installing an outdoor kitchen and new brickwork. They successfully fixed water issues we d had and installed sod across both the front and backyard, keeping in mind the urgency with rainstorms and our sloped property. We can t say enough good things about Jeremy and Jat, who managed our project and addressed any concerns over the course of the project. We highly recommend using The Narrow Lane and look forward to continued work with the team.

I just finished a project with Alison and the team at The Narrow Lane, and am absolutely thrilled with the results. My property has a very steep slope to it (the first floor at the front of the house is a full story up at the back of the house), and I wanted to integrate the front yard with the back yard in a better way. The Narrow Lanes talented crew demolished a decrepit old concrete staircase on one side of the yard and built a beautiful stone masterpiece in its place (that you can actually walk down without taking your life into your hands), and transformed an unused area underneath my back deck into what is going to be a shady little oasis in the summer. They installed fencing in the front and side yard and connected it to existing fencing in the back yard, so that my aging dog could access the whole yard from the front of the house since he can no longer make it down the full flight of stairs off my back deck. Alison made great design recommendations on new plantings and hardscaping materials, and she was incredibly patient with me through a couple of unexpected twists and turns that impacted the project. My only regret is that I didnt do this a long time ago and that I now have to wait until we get through a Boston winter before I can really take full advantage of everything that they did! All in all, a great experience and I cant recommend The Narrow Lane highly enough.

Thanks to Jeremy and Narrow Lane we have a beautifully landscaped backyard. They did hardscape by creating a fire pit area for us. Plus, they put in sod and new plantings. Exceptional vision, execution and process. We did a complete renovation of our backyard, including tearing out an old retaining wall and huge tree stumps, leveling the backyard, building two patios, a (highly) customized fence, and complete excavation and replanting of the front and backyards. Given the scope of our project, we evaluated a number of companies, including the larger names in the industry and smaller local companies, before choosing Narrow Lane. What sold us was Jeremy s vision for the space, their ability to do everything so we didn t have to contract with multiple parties, their willingness to work with us to get the project within our budget (and kept it there), and their commitment to ensuring it is a good process for their customers. I cannot emphasize this last point enough; they truly lived up to it every step of the way. In addition to carrying out such a significant renovation, we were navigating a challenging boundary dispute with a neighbor. Not only was there not a challenge we came up against that they couldn t handle (and did so with good humor), but they also helped us think through options and build in contingencies and customizations. Jeremy was our project manager, and he was frequently onsite and when he was not, there was nearly seamless communication between him and the team. Every team member on-site was thoughtful, courteous, skilled, and seemed to take pride in the outcome and ensuring a good process. Finally, not only is Jeremy perhaps the most patient guy I ve ever met, but we truly enjoyed working with him and valued his input and guidance on decisions for the project and his partnership throughout the process. There were a couple times when we were evaluating adding an option, and his perspective was the benefit wasn t worth the cost, or he had a recommendation on what he thought would really make a visual impact, all to help ensure we were investing where it mattered and would get the best result. We could not be more thrilled with the outcome, and we frequently get asked who did such beautiful work.

The Narrow Lane has been maintaining our property for many years now. Their crews have done a beautiful job caring for our landscaping during the growing season, doing our fall cleanup, and keeping our driveway and pathways clear of snow in the winter. They are highly reliable in letting us know when work will be done, and in responding to needs as they arise in a timely manner. We are very satisfied customers!

We moved into a new house with a large backyard that needed a lot of work. We contacted the Narrow Lane and met with Ron Goode back in August 2021. His landscape design was exactly what we were dreaming for a backyard. Thanks to his vision, we have a large space for our young kids to play, an in ground trampoline and a variety of perfectly placed pine trees around the yard. We needed to take out some trees, level the ground, trench drains, new irrigation, a fence and lighting around the yard. He managed the whole project from start to finish. Ron and his team were very professional and always available to answer questions. We have a great experience and recommend his services to all of our friends.

We hired the Narrow Lane Company for a yard design of our small backyard in Cambridge. We had a really excellent experience. They came and measured our yard to get exact dimensions and listened to our needs and requests. We were provided with two versions of potential layouts, both of which were amazing. It was very detailed and each layout took into account our specific needs of the space and design. I attached an example picture of what were provided, tailored exactly to our space. We really wanted pictures to get a sense of what it would look like and it looks great!

I can not express how great Ron and the crews were through our entire project. He dissuaded me from putting sod down (without irrigation) 2 years ago during a drought (2020) because it would have failed and been a waste of money. These guys care. The designer that was assigned to our project was fantastic an experienced local person who has a deep understanding of horticulture, visual creative direction, balance, and respect for nature. Ron and the designer had a vision for the space as soon as they walked onto the property. They knew a weak Norway Maple had to come down to support the goals of the experience. THATS what they asked and what the team focuses on What is the goal of your experience? Is it young kids running around? Is it entertaining adults? Is it both? Do you have aspirations? What about lighting? What about this? What about that? They are very creative, quick and responsive. The crews. The guys work was meticulous and deliberate. They dont rush. They pay attention and take their time. This should be at the top because my wife and I were continually impressed by their craftsmanship. They also clean up after every day, very thoroughly. Weve had many (just ok) subcontractors over for the past year and this crew knocked it out of the park. AND they time it all up too they start cleaning up on time so that our family can operate during dinner time safely and without any inconveniences to the crew or us. There is nothing I can say that went wrong or any kind of negative. Companies like this need to be held on a pedastal because they barely exist these days. Do NOT hestitate on Narrow Lane. Book them as soon as you can because they are busy :)

They came to clean my neighbor s front yard and blew all the leaves to my yard and also side walks. They left without cleaning it. Everything is caught on video.

Ron and the Narrow Lane have taken care of our landscaping needs for over ten years. They do a great job, are always polite and considerate, and are very responsive if/when we need special consideration such as mowing for a special occasion etc. Most recently, they were extremely helpful with masonry repairs and planting flowers to help us get our home ready to put on the market. Weve been using The Narrow Lane for the past few years. Ron and the team helped transform our backyard from a dead grass wasteland to a place that Im now proud to call home. We started by completely revamping our border with new trees, plants and grass and an irrigation system to keep everything alive and well. After we saw the quality of work that was produced, we next moved on to a larger project to build a new bluestone patio. This project is currently still in process, but the work so far has been wonderful and we are very excited to see the final result. The team has been friendly, professional, and great to work with. Ron & Co. are now carrying out our second project. When we moved in, our backyard was drought ridden and overgrown with tall weeds, and the tiny patio badly needed repair. He completely dug out and relandscaped the back, giving us an elegant new patio with retaining wall, ornamental trees and bushes, and a gorgeous lawn. The variety of flowering bushes and shrubs in the front of the house are well designed. Now we are having flowers and bushes planted along the perimeter of our backyard and the driveway. Throughout, Ron has answered our questions and made design changes to meet our needs. We also use Narrow Lane s maintenance services throughout the year and have been happy with the results.

After interviewing a number of designers, our final choice, The Narrow Lane Landscape Co of Needham, MA, did a large project for us. Ron patiently designed it within our budget.
