We had a big backyard project and Western DuPage Landscaping was excellent. They actually finished earlier than targeted - imagine that! Each day, they had a good sized crew that was very professional, quiet and clearly worked hard. When we saw things that needed attention, they responded immediately. The finished job was fantastic and we couldn't be happier with DPL.

Matt Ewert was our Landscape Architect. He did a great job of listening to our needs and responding with a well thought out beautiful concept and finished design. He was patient and responsive as our needs or thoughts on the plan evolved. He was hands on all the way through the project from start to finish with 1 point of contact which we appreciated. The job also included a beautiful low voltage lighting plan with 2 zones and smart controls. Plants to be added in spring.
We are absolutely thrilled with the way everything worked out with Matt Ewert and Western Dupage Landscaping! Our goal was to do a major backyard renovation with a new patio area so we could spend more time outside with family and friends (and for our kids) in a very comfortable and enjoyable environment. We had to work around some tricky issues with the existing layout of our backyard, but Matt did an amazing job in coming up with a great design plan. I didn’t really know what I wanted, but Matt listened to what our goals were, and worked everything into the design -- and also was very helpful in providing balanced guidance on where to spend more money, and where it would be ok to keep the total cost in check. We had numerous social gatherings outside this fall, and without exception, everyone has been super impressed with the layout, look, and feel of our new backyard patio area! It’s also worth mentioning that WDL finished the project on budget and on time! As with any significant renovation project, issues will arise during the construction process. But the WDL team handled them all in stride, were great at communicating with me, always professional and responsive, and literally fixed every issue that popped up. They were amazing to work with!
Western Dupage Landscaping is made up of great people - and that made all the difference for us. Tyler and Matt were both so earnest in their desire to make things perfect for us. Their crews are very friendly, hard-working and they also aim to please. They don’t miss the details; like a thorough cleaning and tidy up at the end of each day’s work, which is important - so there is zero reason for complaints from neighbors or the village. They have all the equipment- large and small machines, which was a great benefit to us because the configuration of our lot required machinery that could fit into tight spaces. The design process with Matt was a delightful experience. He really listens and cares about your vision. He offers a wealth of knowledge and advised us well. Tyler is extremely efficient at managing the crews and coordinating material deliveries. He made sure every detail was attended to before the project was completed. Great experience with Matt E. We are impressed with this operation. The entire experience was wonderful. He designed our front landscape. We didn’t know much about anything plant wise. Matt took the time to educate us and understand our needs. WDL’s crew was professional and top notch. Ran our project timely and ahead of schedule. Everything was clean and orderly. Juan and his crew could not be more professional. After it was all done, Matt came out to walk us through how to maintain our plants and what to expect throughout the season. All in all, we got a landscaping company that we will be working with for a while.

Western Dupage Landscaping recently completed an entire demo/renovation on our front yard and we would recommend them to everyone we know! The customer service, ease of contact, and follow through from start to finish makes this company one that well be working with for all of our future landscaping needs. Our landscape architect, Eric, completely transformed our front yard garden bed and created a design that perfectly fits our style home and incorporates so many beautiful plantings. He was great to work with and provided top notch customer service and support and is truly an expert landscape architect! Bill and his team were also fabulous and he made sure to follow up after installation was completed to see if we needed anything else, which was so appreciated. The landscaping team was so thorough, they mulched portions of our yard that were not in the quote, and even took the time to pull weeds in a part of the garden bed that they didnt work on! Matt Ewert of WDL is an uncommon and remarkable landscape architect. Matt did a fantastic job of designing a space that complimented and enhanced the architectural ascetic of our new home. He has a marked command of hardscape design and could easily teach university courses on perennials, hardwoods and native plants. The best decision I made in the process was to stay out of his way and adopt his designs. Im truly excited to see the evolution of the plants and trees over the upcoming years as our space matures. When we bought the house the landscape was a total disaster. Alan Upstrom and his team (Jose,Louise, Anthony and one more I do not know his name) helped us bring it to life. Alan is amazing at recognizing the problem and suggesting fixes. His ideas are given shape by his very diligent crew. They are perfectionists and would go above and beyond to do things the right way. We are so happy with how it turned out and are going to be their customer for the rest of our landscaping needs. I would highly recommend Western Dupage Landscaping if you would like to show some love to your landscape and to your home overall.
Matt Ewert and his team at Western Dupage Landscaping did an amazing job with our backyard patio project and front yard refresh. We first met with Matt to discuss our thoughts for the project. He came back with a beautiful patio design, took the time to discuss changes, and helped us to visualize and align on a final design. Throughout the entire project Matt was very responsive to emails, quick texts and phone calls with questions. The two crews who worked on the hardscaping and landscaping were great. Kevin, the manager, was very helpful and responsive with the few modifications we needed. Not only was the entire project completed in the timeframe Matt laid out, it was also fun to watch progress on the build (think HGTV) and pretty stress free due to their helpful attitudes. We would definitely recommend the team to anyone who wants an outdoor setting that looks beautiful and professionally done.
My family contacted Matt at Western Dupage landscaping for a large project that we wanted to be completed in phases. We were happy that Matt was willing to accommodate our timeline and budget constraints since we couldnt do the full landscaping project around our entire property at one time. Matt quoted exactly what we wanted in phase 1. We were impressed with the level of detail and professionalism not just with him, but with his digital drawing of the plans. We talked to Matt in late 2021 and at that time he gave us an estimated completion date sometime in May or June of 2022 depending on availability of the plant products we chose. Matts crew came out this month in May and completed the project within hours! The landscaping in the front of our home looks fantastic and exactly what he drew up on the plans. What I was most impressed with is that we told Matt that we wanted a minimal yet functional look and he delivered! We put a lot of pressure on him to satisfy what we were asking without giving him specific flowers/plants/shrubs we wanted. We put the ball in his court and he gave us a slam dunk. Great job team! We will be contacting Matt back when we are ready for phase 2 / up lighting for outside.
We interviewed several landscaping companies for our pool and backyard landscaping project. We ultimately chose Matt Ewert and Western Dupage and have absolutely no regrets. Matt was extremely knowledgeable, creative, and patient during the design and construction phase, especially during the times when issues arose (they always do). The installation team was also courteous, quick, and professional in every phase of the project. Matt and Team were able to achieve exactly what we wanted and we could not be happier!

We were looking at making changes to our yard in an effort to try to sell our home and was referred by a friend. Matt met with us to discuss our needs and look at our yard. After giving him our budget he came up with a proposal and met with us again to present it all. He was very professional, knowledgeable and worked to fit our needs. We sold before we signed up to do the work, but were planning on moving forward if we didnt. Would definitely recommend!

We have been clients of Western Dupage Landscaping for over 10 years. Matt Habor with WDL has designed all our landscaping, hardscaping, and outdoor lighting including upgrades over the years. Everything looks stunning - many people ask who designed our exterior landscaping and we are only to happy to refer people to Matt and WDL. In addition we have WDL perform all annual maintenance which keeps everything looking fresh. Finally we also have 3-4 annual flower plantings in 8 large flower pots each year. They always do a fantastic job on our outdoor planters. Overall we are extremely happy with the quality of WDL design and maintenance services. No concerns referring them to our friends, neighbors and family!
We had major drainage issues that needed to be addressed. We needed to remove our current falling down deck and replace it with a smaller one. We also wanted a new patio area that could accommodate eating and also a firepit. After getting we attained a few quotes we decided to go with Western DuPage Landscaping, and I am so glad we did. Matt Ewert came out and listened to what we needed to get done. He came up with very creatives ideas to help solve our landscaping issues. He was very patient with all of our revisions we made along the way. The crew that worked on our project were always polite, professional and very responsive. I am beyond happy about my experience with Western DuPage Landscaping!! My husband and I recently moved to Glen Ellyn last December 2018. We tried to spruce things up a little, but it was extremely daunting not to mention I got poison ivy three times! I had called up WDL after receiving info from a family member, Matt was great came onsite (Pre-COVID) to discuss a plan. He set expectations, let me know his ideas and where I needed to give some TLC. Due to everyone having the same idea of landscaping, I had about a 6-8 week wait, but it was WELL WORTH IT!! Im so proud to drive up to my home and see the beautiful work theyve done. They even went above and beyond with extra mulch they had left over and filled some of my other flower beds, weeded and transplanted plants I would like to keep!! Unbelievable!! Would recommend to any family and friends, they do amazing work!
