We had a big project that had to be done over the course of a year. Gabriel and his team created a beautiful plan and then saw it through to a very successful conclusion. Both our front and back yards are now, not only lovely, but so useable. We also have a much lower level of water usage and maintenance. Gabriel's crew was at all times hardworking, professional and very pleasant to have around. They were with us for a long time! One of the most beautiful aspects of our job was the hardscape. The masonry work is outstanding. We highly recommend Gabriel and his team. Excellence in all things and a beautiful outcome.
Our experience with Gardens by Gabriel was excellent. Gardens by Gabriel transformed our practically unusable backyard into a beautiful oasis ready for entertaining. Gabriel was patient and attentive during the planning stages and came up with a gorgeous but practical design and plan. The crew was hard working and professional but also easy to communicate with. They were happy to answers questions and let us know what was happening on the project. Gabriel even came by after the project was complete to make sure we were happy and to see if we had any additional questions. He also provided a booklet with information on how to take care of the plants moving forward. It’s all native and easy to maintain but I appreciate that he realizes that not everyone knows a lot about plants or has a green thumb. The entire project was a pleasure from beginning to end. I highly recommend Gardens by Gabriel for all of your design and installation work!
We bought a home in Morro Bay that had a yard so overgrown it looked like a haunted wood. Gardens by Gabriel gave us a wonderful master plan for a low maintenance, drought tolerant garden. The trees were trimmed and all sorts of plantings put in and rocks rearranged, and now all the passersby compliment us on our beautiful yard. Everyone at Gardens by Gabriel were a pleasure to meet and they worked long and hard, plus Gabriel still comes by to check out how our plants are doing. We highly recommend this company if you want beautiful landscaping and kind, knowledgeable people to work with!
Gardens By Gabriel did a fantastic job creating a wonderful backyard patio and garden for us. Gabriel and his crew took a neglected area with uneven terrain and transformed it into a beautiful outdoor space. They were thorough and conscientious on all facets of the project. At the beginning of the project, Gabriel worked closely with us to define the plants and the layout. Gabriel has a wonderful eye and talent for choosing and arrangement plants for the maximum dramatic effect. Throughout the project, Gabriel worked with us to ensure that our ideas were incorporated into the project. All of Gabriel's crew is very knowledgeable about plants and passionate about their work. We enjoyed watching them work and watching the yard take shape. Gabriel and his crew answered all our questions and made some last minute changes that we requested. We are so happy we chose Gardens by Gabriel. They have given us a dream backyard that gives us much pleasure. We highly recommend them.
Gabriel and his team did an amazing job of transforming my front and back yards. I have a number of CC&R restrictions on what I can do with the yard, and Gabriel came up with creative solutions for all of those issues. His team was punctual and neat, and once the project was started, it went all the way to completion. Gabriel was able to do everything needed, including concrete removal, paver installation, and irrigation. Most important, I love the plants and the design of my garden. Many of the succulents are unusual, and the blend of succulents and native plants is great. The yard has already filled out and is a source of pride and joy for me!
The team at Gardens By Gabriel were professional, courteous, and organized throughout the entire process. Our project was a series of stops-and-starts before it finally got off the ground. It took our project 9 months to complete (other contractors not affiliated with Gardens By Gabriel were the tortoises, NOT them), but once we were ready for Gardens By Gabriel to come in and work their magic, it was perfect. At the beginning, Gabriel spent several meetings with us to discuss and choose designs and plants that would fit our wants. Gabriel was very patient and accommodating our specific requests, that often required going 'above and beyond', to make sure we felt comfortable with the overall design, as well as the more specific planting, lighting, and irrigation plans. Gardens By Gabriel came in under budget, and on-time. Changes were always communicated ahead of time, so there were no 'fun surprises' at the end. And as we all know, this combination seems to be a rarity these days. Thanks to Gardens By Gabriel for not only helping to create a beautiful space for us to enjoy, but for your patience, hard work, creativity, integrity, and professionalism. Gardens By Gabriel will be my first call for any of my future landscape project needs.
Gabriel and his crew took over our challenging front yard and transformed it. The watering system was carefully put in place and he designed it with artful texture and height. As I drive up I think it's the loveliest yard around. We had them come back for our back yard at a later time and they designed it with carefully spaced native plants and rocks into a pleasant garden setting. We had many ideas of our own that Gabriel incorporated into the garden scheme. He and his crew are very easy to work with and are professionals in work, knowledge and love of their work! We highly recommend them.

Wow, wow, wow! We hired Gabriel and his team to do a complete landscape overhaul on a recently remodeled house. At first we were a bit hesistant because the price was higher than we expected. It didnt take long for us to realize that we were easily getting our moneys worth. Out of dozens of workers that had worked on our home over the 6 month remodel project, Gabriels team far outshone every one of them. They were at the site every day, on time, without fail and worked a full day every day without fail. Every step of the process was clear and honest, with no surprises. The crew was perhaps the most pleasant, caring, and just plain wonderful team we have ever worked with. The attention to detail and care about their work was honestly beyond anything Ive ever seen. Pathways were not just gravel laid down on the ground, but elegantly designed, scaped, packed multi-layered elements that truly became a permanent part of the land. I have a lot of experience with landscaping and plants, and until Gabriels team, I had never seen a team that was always two-steps ahead of my thoughts and did things far better than I ever expected. Saying a landscape was transformed is a bit of an over-used phrase, but here it was quite literal. Looking at before and after pictures of our property, it was literally hard to believe it was the same place. Gardens by Gabriel was by far the best landscaping experience we have ever had, and one of the best experiences working with any company.
It was an absolute delight working with Gardens by Gabriel. The design was exactly what I wanted and the crew was nothing but professional every single person on the project showed their passion for their work by attention to detail. I would use them again and highly recommend them for your next project. They are a little pricey compared to other quotes I got but you get what you pay for and we certainly did!

Gabriel and his team of professionals did a fantastic job of creating a unique backyard for us. They are creative, attentive to requests and hard working. We are thrilled to have a beautiful, drought tolerant outdoor living space and highly recommend them. We moved to San Luis Obispo in August 2019 and immediately began looking for landscape design/installation company that could help us redo our overgrown yard, fix a number of drainage issues and incorporate citrus, avocado and a small vegetable garden, along with cactus and succulents and other drought tolerant plants that would create and maintain a low maintenance yard. This group did a great job of not only designing a multi-stage plan, but also installing a hardscape path and helping us with our drainage issues. At every step along the process, the team was responsive and willing to discuss the project. They were very understanding of our budget constraints and worked with us to best optimize what we could do and what was best to have them complete. They were organized, on schedule and on budget.
Our rural property was a blank slate when Gabriel arrived for our first meeting. Gabriel, a personable, passionate, degreed horticulturist, had an immediate vision how to best design our unique space to maintain the integrity of our natural landscape. We now have beautiful plantings of distinctive natives, succulents and proteas all with a purposeful placement both on the outside and from vantage points inside. It was a huge endeavor preparing our land for drip irrigation and plantings. Gabriels team with Victor supervising and working the daily project arrived on time, were hard working, respectful, knowledgeable of the various plants and meticulously worked with the design blueprints. We were happily surprised one day when they went out of their way to retrieve some large boulders on our property to use versus us paying for new ones representing a sizable cost savings. We appreciated the consistent communication with Gabriel and the team. The project was on time, on budget and there have been routine follow-ups from Mindy, their Project Manager, to assess the landscape project, and to address any problems or concerns. It is a pleasure waking up each day and admiring our thriving Garden by Gabriel.

After our first meeting we were presented with a number of unique plant options. After a while we began the transformation. The team that we worked with were courteous, always available to answer questions and just a joy to be around. Gardens by Gabriel created a mediterranean wonderland out of our our horrible garden. I was such a pain and he was so gracious and kind and got back to me immediately. The people he lined up to pull out trees and pour concrete were first rate. His advice is perfect and his crew were so great and so professional. They even put up with our dog and carried loads of rock into our backyard. From start to finish it was a perfect experience and I will use him again and again. I thought that our job was too small when I looked on his website, but he treated us like we were his top job. I cant recommend enough. Be open to succulents because now I wished that I had used them as they are so great and colorful and Gabriel is a pro.
We bought a neglected property early in 2012 that was sorely in need of love both inside and out. We contracted with Gardens by Gabriel for ideas, inspiration, guidance and eventually implementation. The Vision is much greater than the Budget (life is like that), so were having to work in stages. That said: the first stage was all that we had envisioned and more. Living with it now for a few months, it is always a pleasure to stroll through the garden and watch the plants grow and change with the seasons. Gabriel Frank and everyone on his team was knowledgeable, courteous, careful, efficient. I recommend this company to anyone contemplating new landscaping or the refreshment of some old tired landscaping.
