James and his crew did an excellent job reviving our front yard, from initial consultations through follow-up. James was on site every single day, and he and his crew were very careful with their work. No machinery was necessary to put in a fountain, a score of heavy landscape rocks, shrubs, walkways and irrigation to it all. James kept us informed and graciously heard our thoughts and teamed up with us on what we wanted. And from his and his father's years of experience, he is plugged in to the local industry, so when some of the work necessitated a plumber or electrician, he found good ones to have on hand as well. I had James and his team replace the hardscape and the majority of the landscape in my sloping front yard. In my hillside backyard, they replaced a 95' long retaining wall, installed several plants, installed beautiful bark, and replaced the side yard fence and gate. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly recommend James for any work you want/need done in your yard. He brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and design skill to his projects. Incredible service from the first call to months after completion. James (the owner) helped me understand the best options to redo our front yard, and was honest about estimates and pricing. I ended up giving him a ton of freedom to design what would look great, and it turned out perfect. James also follows up with helpful tips to maintain the landscaping, and has stopped by several times since completing the work to program the irrigation and make sure the new plants are doing well. Will be hiring them again to do our back yard!
James did an exceptional job on our huge hillside transformation. We’ve lived in this house for two years and have never used our backyard until now! James and team were very professional, reliable and even completed the project sooner than anticipated. James Bennett just completed a front yard project for our home. He was easy to work with and provided us with helpful design advice. The project was completed on a timely basis and stayed within his initial estimate. Overall we are very happy with James and our project.
Lawrence Bennett landscape Design and construction was incredible. We had an ugly blank slate of a backyard before they started. We had them build 2 beautiful decks that increased our usable space and made use of our incredible hilltop view. We also had them build in an outdoor kitchen with flagstone walkway that included a small retaining wall to maximize space. They also added built in stairs on our hill along w flagstone pathway from the grass to the upper deck. They designed beautiful ground coverage of our hill with different plants that flower at different times with different colors! They designed a great front and backyard including requested fruit trees like pear, apple, lemon and 2 avocado trees (an and b plants for cross fertilization). They built incredible raised beds that are raised to hip hight allowing easy gardening. They also installed an amazing chicken coup that is both functional and provides a nice architectural element. All of this was done with California water restrictions in mind, low water plants, new drip system, irrigation for the raised beds, automatic watering system set up. We had amazing communication throughout, there were no unexpected expenses. The process was smooth and we were actually sad when it was done since James and Lawrence treated us like family. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Lawrence Bennett Landscape helped us with an area in our back patio that was in desperate need of drainage. They installed a French drain along the side of the house that directed the water appropriately. James was friendly and had great communication. We will definitely be calling them for our next project

James is an absolute pleasure to work with!!! We recently had an addition done to our house that impacted our foundation and the backyard planning in unexpected ways. James was so helpful throughout the entire process. Our builders inadvertently cut the line to the sprinklers to our backyard. James came to our house on the same day I called to troubleshoot, as he was very sensitive to the potential for the small heat wave that could ruin our existing lawn and plants. Upon arrival at our house, James gave us a temporary solution to keep the sprinklers working as well as a long term fix once the construction was complete. James worked with the contractors directly which alleviated the stress of payment and scheduling of services. James also had to work with us for backyard solutions once the addition was completed. He was able to help us contract pavers to allow for a beautiful modern design that included a new pave design, a new drainage system, mulch, stones, and new plants. Once again, he showed up to our house with the pave designer to talk things through so that we could ask questions and talk about options and potential shortcomings. He is a great listener and is willing to offer his own take on what could be done to make things look really nice. The new configuration and design was a definite improvement from our outdated, weathered cement look and gave us more patio space and options to host outdoor backyard events. He was able to carefully work within the constraints of our budget as we were pretty maxed out after the addition remodel. James also had to relocate our sprinkler system and its main unit underground due to the relocation of a fence and walkway that he helped design. He also had to resod areas that were indirectly impacted by the remodel so that everything remained level. I did not have to do anything as he even programmed the water system in our garage to make sure the new sod would get enough water to root itself to the ground. He also informed us when to lower the water. Our next project once we get more funds is to add more color to our backyard as it is mostly green with plants and trees. James has already made some suggestions in different budget ranges to make this happen.
