The individual who represented himself to be the manager of the Mooresville location was rude and unprofessional. First he tried to give me dried out yellow sod and tell me it was cut fresh today. It was obvious that they had rotated last weeks stock to the front to get rid of it first. Ive never been spoked to so rudely by a customer-facing employee.

Updating my original review from a few years ago. Continue to be a long time user and customer of Super Sod. As I stated previously, I was one of the first to sign up for their Lawn Coach program and top to bottom their customer service is unmatched. I recently reached out to Stephen at the Mooresville location to order some Soil3 compost for myself and let him know my neighbors were interested in ordering too. Stephen was kind enough to give me his cell phone and asked that each of my neighbors call and reference our neighborhood and he could get all the soil loaded on the same truck to be delivered. He did a great job getting it all coordinated and arranged and then the delivery driver Billy was phenomenal with the delivery at each of our homes. Once again, a great experience with the Super Sod team.

Landscapers beware! There is no telling when you will actually see your materials. As a small business planning is very important. My initial estimated drop off time was 11:41am. It is now showing 3:45pm and counting. This means I have now lost half day of work and paid labor. When contacting Super Sod I was simply told too bad you have to wait. That s why it s an estimated time. I could understand an hour or so but 4 hours and counting. Doesn t look good for Super Sod or my company. Thanks for helping my customer worry about if their project will be completed in the time I had promised!

They did not call or text before delivery us our sod. Called multiple times to ask for them to remove the sod but they will not. See pics. The manager at Mooresville, NC replied and stated that they would finally come to remove the sod from our driveway but at that time we had already rented a pallet jack to move them. He was very understanding unlike the main headquarters or main number line given on the website. Thats why Im updated my review.

This place has gone way downhill. Phone system terrible and inter company communication horrible. Customer service rude. Tall fescue horrible quality. Prices the most expensive in Charlotte. Aside from the nice displays out front I m not sure why anyone buys sod here.

***** Changed from 1-star to 5-stars ***** I reached out to the store manager, Stephen, and he was very helpful. This was before he saw the below review. We arranged to have the level mix delivered to my house the following Monday (yesterday) at no extra charge over the pickup the contractor was doing. He explained that they hadnt received the mix due to weather issues. He held the order even though it had been canceled and refunded so it could be re-paid once the refund had posted. Stephen was very communicative over phone and text in getting the new delivery setup. Only improvement I would suggest is that they should have notified the contractor beforehand that it was not available.I would definitely return. *********** Original review A couple weeks ago my contractor ordered 5 bags of level mix for pickup this morning to level my yard and paid for it. Today, upon arrival he was told they didnt have it and didnt know when it would be available. The contractor was reimbursed but was out the truck rental cost - not to be trusted. Now I have to figure out a new plan. Horrible customer service.

Miranda Head is a pleasure to talk with and her knowledge was spot on for what i did not know and what i did need to know. We had our small area (30x 40) sodded , two Falls ago. While the installation went well, weve had weed problems ever since. We reached out to them, but got no follow up to our concerns. We use Weedman for lawn care so were doing our part. Were back to fighting weeds yet again this Spring, work that shouldnt be needed if one gets sod installed, which was our reasoning for paying for sod. Given the sodded area, in the whole acre of our yard, is all that has issues, its obvious the sod came with problems. For the past two Springs, weve had to deal with about 20-25 clumps of Dalis grass, only to have it return. Very unhappy with this purchase, and no concerns on their part after installation. UPDATE: Supersod contacted us. They came out and made the necessary repairs. Very thankful that they did this, so Id give them a 5 star now. Manager was nice and helpful. Thank you!

Our delivery was prompt, communication was great, and our delivery driver, Matthew Bell, was very professional and polite. Two of the straps broke from sun damage, but he was able to get it down our sloped driveway with no problem. I haven t had a chance to evaluate the compost, but I will update with that information after some time has passed.

The top cover on one bag had holes caused by the lift forks allowing the soil to be very wet. It appears that the other bag had been setting in water causing the bottom of the bag to be wet. Gave the review two stars because of the price, otherwise I would have given one star.

Update: The store manager reached out after learning about the glass and offered to provide labor and materials to replace the sod. He said this is only the second time in his career something like this has happened. Great customer service! While our sod is now growing in nicely, we had some issues. Most concerning is the fact that there is a large amount of broken glass throughout our sod (>25 pieces, three different kinds of glass). We found some pieces while laying it, and now that it more established and we are starting to walk around we continue to find more (picture of what was found in second round of looking after thinking we had gotten it all). This is a huge safety issue as we have young kids and Im not sure when Ill be comfortable letting them run around in the new yard, which was the main purpose of getting new sod. Second, the delivery was late by almost two hours (wasnt delivered until after 4pm) which made it challenging to install as the help we had recruited couldnt stay past 5pm. Because of the late delivery, the sod was very yellow and stressed, but with lots of watering has recovered and is looking good now.

This review is about kindness, not sod. We stopped in because our jeep was overheating and we wanted to let it cool down. We went in to browse and I expressed interested in their herbs. Taylor took us outside to talk about them. (BTW theyre gorgeous because of the quality of their soil!). We told him about the jeep overheating and he asked if we needed coolant. He brought us out a jug and wouldnt accept any money for it. So considerate. Hes an asset tour our community....what a great guy!

We install a lot of sod in mooresville, Philip Jette was the delivery driver. He had already unloaded everything. We showed up as he was leaving, we asked if he could move all the pallets to the next block in the neighborhood so it would be closer for us to work with. He loaded it back up on the truck and moved and was very nice. That was a big favor and I really appreciate it! Thank you

Incredibly easy to place an order. Checked inventory and sent me a pay link. Made sure I had everything I needed. Jessica Lopez was wonderful as we placed two orders through her. When we picked up the order everyone there was very helpful and gave us all the info to ensure our sod was well-prepped and could thrive. They are available through email for ordering and questions.

Busy season caused some delays getting the landscape contractor scheduled but my two pallets of TifTuf Bermuda are now down. He also explained the preparation of the soil before laying the sod. He provided a written quote and when we agreed to the price, the process moved very quickly. We were contacted by Onorio Ruiz, the installer, and set up the ground prep work. After a swift and courteous delivery by Scott Lewis, our sod was laid. From start to finish was only three days! Although I thought I knew what I needed when I walked in, Lindsay (inside sales representative) noticed my lack of certainty as we discussed the products and size of my project (some sod, some new seeding, and some over-seeding) and she patiently walked me through it and completed the order quickly. Adam and Ian helped us out big time with a last minute weekend sod installation project. We took on the installation ourselves but they made sure we had what we needed to get it done. The delivery driver Brian also got it out to our house in about 2 hours!

Went into Super-Sod today to get some help with weeds and grass that wont grow in our back yard. I spoke with Adam Martin who was very knowledgeable and helpful in solving the problem. Adam suggested a landscaper that Super Sod uses, who will be able to help with the actual work on the yard. Extremely easy to order online and was reasonably priced. Scott Lewis our delivery drive was extremely helpful and was able to get the sod as close to the location as he could. He was also an hour early. Did a great Job. Now comes the harder part of laying it out.

I attended a garden show a week ago in Statesville where Super Sod had a display of the Big Yellow Bag. Lindsey Bacharack was good enough to explain the composition of the compost and calculate the amount of compost I would need for my new lawn. I went to the Mooresville store later in the week and spoke to Steve Raiford, the manager. I relayed to him the challenges I was dealing with for my soil, etc. He answered all my questions and explained to me how this compost breaks down the red clay so prominent in this area. He went over the best ways to manage a new lawn; when to seed and when not to, when to aerate, how much water to apply, what fertilizer to use and when, and the best way to fight disease, cutworms, beetle larva and other pests. The best part of his explanation was the scheduling plan. He said I would be notified what to do when and supplied with the product with which to do it and it is delivered to our door. We were tired of our weed factory yard. I stopped by Super Sod to get some info and Ian came out and measured the yard. He also put me in touch with a landscaper who handled the install of the Tall Fescue sod. The only hiccup was that we needed additional sod on install day, and the second batch clearly came from a different field and didnt look as good as the first batch. However, Ian was a total professional and came out personally to fertilize and track the grass, assuring me that he would get it looking just as good as the other grass. And he did. Everything looks the same now, and its outstanding. Extremely happy with our new yard.

We had a really great experience ordering and picking up our sod (they even let us pick up a day early because of weather AND get some extra last minute sod day of) which I am so appreciative of, however we followed everything they recommended to a T and all of our sod is dead just 5 months later. It s extremely disappointing that they have no guarantee. When we buy again in the fall we ll probably go elsewhere just so we can be backed by a guarantee again so we don t waste another thousand dollars.

Inconsistency- ordered 1 pallet that was dried out and falling apart (7/15). Had to try to lay it in pieces and most of it died. I ordered two more pallets which were slightly better (8/1). Ordered 2 more pallets (8/3) which were MUCH better (on a Wednesday). The following week I ordered another pallet and thought it would be better if I waited for Wednesday, but I just picked it up and it s the worse of all. It s falling apart before I can even get it down. Very disappointed and I have a party in 3 days. I purchase 6 pallets ($1830) in a 1 month period and only 2 good pallets. Update: the manager called and came out to take a look. His legitimate concern was refreshing and we will be meeting again in a month to correct this. The review will be updated again if everything is corrected. Raising to 3 stars based on manager concern/dedication.

Worst sod I have ever had. Not once but I have ordered twice from them and both times was terrible highly do not recommend this service. The only plus was they are always spot on time.

Skip the call, go see them for the best price. I received two different phone quotes while they were running some specials (from a centralized call center = iffy), so I decided to just go there to talk to someone in person. The price I received was $50 better and they even juggled the schedule to deliver the next day before an incoming storm so I had time to get the sod down ahead of the rain. Great service, highly recommended!

Scott Lewis dropped off my sod and was extremely helpful! Not only was he on time, but he also went the extra step and put the pallets closer to my backyard so I didnt have to move them as far.

My Big Yellow Bag was delivered today. Thank goodness Scott Lewis didnt give up trying to find my house on the dirt mountain road. Driving that big truck is not the easiest on steep narrow roads especially when it is easy to loose the GPS connection and easy to take the wrong road. I think he had a few harrowing moments trying to turn the truck around on one of those dead-end roads. Scott was terrific, a delight to talk with, and he was able to drop the bag just were I needed it to be with his super-duper three wheel forklift. I cant wait to start my gardens! Thanks so much! Excellent people, support, advice and SOD to get the job done right. Tracy and the SuperSod team helped us select the best SOD for our yard and provided step-by-step on preinstall yard prep. Once the SOD arrived, it was easy to roll out and was in great shape being thick and green. After a month, the yard has taken root, been growing great, is very thick and has great growth. I appreciated the personal touch of the SuperSod team and their knowledge. Looking forward to finally having a wonderful lawn. Step 1 : Listen to Tracy Step 2: Prep the yard by killing off old grass and bagging it. Wait 2 weeks. Step 3 : Use SuperSod soil to top off the yard and roll it flat. Step 4 : Install the sod and make sure the seams are really touching. Water often as you lay it down. Step 5 : Grab a beer because you did a lot of good hard work. Step 6 : Water entire yard. Step 7: Roll the sod flat. Step 8 : Water deeply for the next 2 weeks. Step 9 : Stay on the SuperSod plan for fertilizers and such. Step 10 : Sit on the front porch

The entire process from pre consult to delivery was really smooth. Scott Lewis was awesome as a delivery driver. He helped set me up for success by strategically placing my materials!

I very rarely leave reviews but I am compelled to in this instance due to the extreme swings in the customer service area. Super-Sod provided the TifTuf Bermuda for our backyard. I subsequently purchased a Husqvarna robot mower and the installation which was scheduled for what I thought was the following week. I was given a four hour window to expect the installer. The date arrived and the four hour window passed without anyone arriving and with no call. I then called Super-Sod and was told that I still showed on the schedule, so I waited until dark...no installer, no call. When I called back the next week I was told that the date I was scheduled for was the following month, not the current month, so I chalked the whole thing up to a misunderstanding, UNTIL the date for installation the following month came and went with the same four hour window with no show for the install and no phone call. I called and rescheduled for the next week - NO SHOW, NO CALL. At this point my patience had run out so I called to demand the installation for the following week or a refund of my money. I was scheduled the following week with Andrew Schlukbier who came from Raleigh to do the installation. Andrew called prior to the appointment to get the particulars on my yard, explained that he had a long drive so he would get to us as soon as possible and called again the day of the installation to advise of his arrival time. He did an excellent job installing the mower, provided outstanding information on the set up and operation and was a pleasure to interact with. He turned what was the most atrocious customer service debacle I have ever been involved with into a great outcome. THANKS ANDREW!

I didnt realize you had a survey form or I would have done this much earlier. For nearly three years we have been Super Sod customers. We are not large purchasers, but we are faithful. Every week or so we purchase a strip of sod for out outdoor balcony for use by our little Bicheon. Tracy recognizes our car and would get our order started before I even pulled into a parking place. She just makes you feel welcome and like family. Ive never seen her have a bad day. Our real blessing, however, has been Calib. Since we are now confined to home because of Covid, Calib offered to deliver our order directly to our second floor door on his way home in the evenings. Decided to give their fescue seed and fertilizer a try this year. Entire yard was power raked before I started and lime added. Will continue to use their products and advice. Very happy so for with the results.

Super Staff - I stopped on a Saturday for a few pieces of sod, and the counter help, actually was my loader... The price was right, the sod was green and the cuts were good (except 1 of 20 pcs). I am happy to report that the company worked with us to resolve the issue. We bought sod from Super Sod in the Spring. It all died. We have an absolute demarcation of where the sod was planted. We took great care to follow their instructions and watered accordingly. Long story short, they did not stand behind their product. You might as well buy from Lowes, who will stand behind the products. P.S. They gave us a bag of fertilizer, for dead sod and told us to overseed in the Fall. Purchased under Keith Bishop. We were contacted by Super Sod following this review and they are working with us toward a resolution. Much appreciated.
