Steve & Brother Landscaping in Montclair

We've worked with Steve & Brother Landscaping twice now, once last fall to install a French drain and again this spring to perform a spring clean up, mulch our entire property and do some tree trimming. This company and their team are wonderful to work with. I've worked directly with Sandro and found him to be super professional, communicative and most importantly, thorough. They legitimately care that they do the job right and at a fair price. I absolutely will be working with them going forward and more so, recommending them to my friends and neighbors.

I was undecided as to whether or not to write this review since we did not end up using them, but this was a very unfortunate experience that I felt the need. They came to our home on Aug 27th and covered all of the details with us. We went over the installation of adding backfill, top soil, sod as well as the purchase and installation of 10 Arborvitae trees. They advised us they would get back to us with pricing the following week. After we did not hear from them by Thursday Sept 1st, we had reached out and were given a price for the top soil and sod, to which we replied that was ok, but we wanted the full job including the arborvitae's. They stated they did not have the opportunity to get the 6ft, 8ft and 10ft pricing but they would get back to us the following week. At that point we said this was ok as the final landscaper was coming to our home that day to give a final estimate, and we were going to make a final decision that following week (by Friday Sept 9th). That week came and went. We had many good messages going back and forth but around Sept 7th or 8th, we had reached out and we were once again told, the owner will be going that following weekend to look at the trees and get back to us. After this there was no more communication. Here is the unfortunate part of this... We really liked the team that came to our home, and we were considering going with them regardless of the cost (you get what you pay for when it comes to service). The fact that we waited so long and there was no urgency was going to put us weeks outside our deadline which we had been communicating from day 1. The good thing is we found another landscaper that has been AMAZING with providing responses, understanding our needs so we signed them up. They've arrived on time and just started the job today.. Thus far, I am extremely happy with the work and service I am getting, I'll be signing them up for many other maintenance services as their work thus far has been impeccable. It is very unfortunate that Steve and Brothers did not get the job due to lack of communication. I can't say we didn't make many efforts, but after waiting 3 weeks for tree pricing, we could not wait any longer.

My yard needed a lot of work. Lots of rocks and overgrown bushes, etc. Steve and team were great to work with from start to finish. The prices are reasonable and work done in a timely but not rushed manner. Steve really knows his stuff when it comes to landscaping.
