I used TruGreen many years ago. I moved to Florida where are community was taken care of by our HOA. I moved to Illinois in the country. Contacted TruGreen because I know what an outstanding job they do. My lawn looks amazing. My TruGreen tech Jack B knows his stuff. I wouldn t use any other company.

Here is the short & sweet version: TruGreen is a terrible lawn care company. - They have terrible communication. Technicians show up late, dont show up at all, or dont apply products to the entire yard. - Expensive - Their technicians/sales people/customer service are not qualified. No knowledgeable of this areas local biology and how things grow here. I recommend finding a local lawn care company instead. Long version: I have used TruGreen for the last 3 seasons and with each season my yard has gotten increasingly worse. The first 2 seasons I worked in an office and was usually not around when my services were being performed. I began working from home and so I was able to watch many of the services as they were being performed last season and here is what I noticed: - technicians either showed up late, didnt show up at all, showed up without warning, or showed up and then left with no communication in any of those scenarios. In one scenario, they had informed me the *day of* that they were going to come and perform aeration and then scolded me that the technician couldnt complete the service because the grass was too high - my lawn is on a carefully scheduled maintenance routine and so if my grass cutting day is scheduled for Thursday, and you show up on Wednesday to aerate, yes - the grass will be high!! I would have been able to communicate this to the company had the company even attempted at reaching out prior to the service. - I was able to personally witness on multiple occasions that not once was treatment applied to the entirety of my yard. Every tech would completely skip the backyard or do half of it but you better believe that they charge me for the entire yard! To wrap it up here is the reality.. the service and sales people arent familiar with the local climate and growing conditions thus they take neither into account when setting up your services. The technicians arent required to have any real horticultural training or experience. My recommendation - find a LOCAL lawn care company whose sales/service people have even a miniscule (because thats more than youd find of anyone at Trugreen) of knowledge of this regions ecology. Your lawn deserves it!!

As a school, we made the mistake of hiring them. I do not know if they even showed up to the appointments but they definitely send the invoices on time. They do not responds to my emails nor phone calls. I do not recommend this place.

So far I ve been misled. Additionally I see no improvement from the first lawn treatment application.

I requested a quote for a lawn aeration, and it was absurdly expensive. I can literally rent an aerator and a truck for long enough to do my whole neighborhood for what they wanted for .15 acres. On top of that, theyve called several times after Ive told them Im not interested.

We caught this company not showing up for appointments but billing are credit card 3 times in a row. Cameras around the house to prove it. Even show up and bill us but never get out of the truck. We cancelled by phone three times, and now 6 months later I am getting something from a credit collection agency as we disputed the last charge they tried to put through on our credit card. I will fight this all the way through. I would rather spend 2000 fighting it than 200 to pay it.

This past year, the service has been excellent. My lawn has improved nicely, and most bare areas have filled in. Ive had issues in the past where technicians have dumped too much fertilizer in some areas and burned out the lawn. They appear to be paying more attention to detail. Thank you!!

First and only time using TruGreen. They came the first week of March when the ground was still frozen and treated the yard. After not seeing them for 9 weeks I spoke with a rep who said theyd be out immediately. They scheduled an appointment for the next day and never showed up. After waiting another 2.5 weeks they tried to reschedule. Canceled and going with a different company.

Do not use this service!!! They charged my credit card without authorization after I asked for a full refund due to no service. I gave them my credit card for the first purchase. I did not receive any service!!! I was told that their representitives could not find my home!!! Google Maps can help find most difficult places. Thereafter, I found an additional payment for $343.45!!! A second payment unauthorized!!! DO NOT USE THIS SERIVCE!

Ok the quick and easy of this one star. I signed up for services at the beginning of the season. 1st service they where only going to treat the front yard luckily I was home and got them to complete the job with treating the back yard. 2nd service was rescheduled, I get weather was bad, new date was 5/11/22 got notification services provided, FALSE Tech Jason Held didnt stop and do anything to my property. I have video to prove it. With that I havent received call backs from any sort of management person,I would assume this is something they would want to correct quickly but I guess not. I have posted the name of the tech so others can be cautious if they see this persons name as the tech that provided services and they can make sure something was done. based off what I read I am not the first person thats gone thru this with the company overall, so I am doing my part to make sure others are aware too and keep eyes out for this cause it sounds like they make lots of money from charging people with out providing services. I am an honest person and will update post as things change if they even do.

Terrible! The service tech completed less than half of my yard. I asked him to complete the service and he gave me attitude saying it doesnt look like you use that part of the yard Im not going to spray for mosquitoes, thats stupid The service was to spray for mosquitoes and bugs, poor service and I ended up getting a refund because I have it all on video. If I could not give any stars I would this is a -10 in my book.

Excellent from start to finish! Placed a call to inquire about services. Call was returned within minutes. Jordan was very thorough. We have had two service calls so far: lawn service by Frederick Metcalfe, and Hort Plus service by Paul Pattyn. Both knew exactly what to do. I had a problem setting up my online account. Brian figured it out and I can access the account easily. My thanks to Jordan, Frederick, Paul and Brian.

Been out twice already plus a service call, yard is coming along we got a lot of weeds to get rid of, so I guess it will take time.

Horrific company from top to bottom. I attempted to use Trugreen on two separate occasions but opted to cancel my contracts due to a long list of issues. The combination of poor Customer Service, missed appointments, lack of accountability, and poor weed control made it too frustrating to continue. After my first cancellation, I received a visit from a regional sales manager that assured me that the issues I faced had been resolved. Unfortunately, the issues continued throughout the second contract. I have no idea what Senior Management is conveying to their associates but it is apparent that customer service or client retention is not a primary concern. (Just read the most current reviews on Trustpilot)

You can never get in touch with local franchise so I am posting this. This is my backyard after two years of Trugreen service.

They could not get the weeds under control. I gave them 3 chances. I had to reseed half my yard to get rid of the weeds.

This is the most unreliable company I have ever used in the area. If you have contracted their services, better you follow/witness every single application. It is the fourth time it is happening with me in less than a year, and Im done with TruGreen. My service was scheduled for today, I was waiting them in my front porch, the professional didnt show up and sent the confirmation of the service by email. If I was not waiting for them and aware that this happens, I would pay without having my service done. There is no local contact person when you need issue a complain. I already spoke with customer care managers, they changed they guy but same thing is still happening. It is just their modus operandi.

Scheduled them for a lawn aeration and overseeding. Company no-call no-showed twice in a row. No follow up, no explanation given. Unprofessional, inconsiderate, unreliable, and just poor.

I had more weeds than ever And there people dont even know what weeds are what or what there spraying.

We prepaid for the most expensive service (TruComplete Lawn Plan). For that, we received: a completely dead lawn, tech spending months doing only our tiny front lawn (like 10ft x 10ft) while completely ignoring our back yard, and an aeration/reseeding guy who shows up and leaves repeatedly with either no reason or completely false reasons (claims we have sprinkler heads or an invisible fence we dont, guy didnt even walk up on our lawn, I have a Nest camera and saw him just drive up and drive away). Worst company ever. We paid over $400 for this. On top of that, they spam us with text messages and phone calls from spoof numbers that I cant even block trying to upsell pest services, mosquito spraying, and shrub services. So end result: were out $400, have a dead lawn, a technician that drives up and drives away and then lies about it, and TruGreen spamming us day and night to pay for more services. I kind of cant believe it.

My lawn is brown and dry. I requested irrigation services. I was told I had to wait until August to receive this service. I waited the day the technician came out he went across the street to my neighbor did their yard and then never came to my yard. Now I have the real time tracking and it stated he was at my house so I go outside and ask him is he supposed to be doing my irrigation work. Long story short he leaves and says the weather was bad he couldnt complete my service. I have canceled my service with trugreen and I have also requested a refund. TERRIBLE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES WHO APPARENTLY ARE ALSO BLATANT LIARS.

It seemed, everytime I got treated, it trained. Id call, and they would come re treat. Rain. Retreat. I wanted A specific weed gone. Its very invasive and almost if not completely impossible to get rid of. They said they could. They recommended the treatment for the year. I couldnt follow thru. My grass throughout my yard was dead! They told me it was dormant. My neighbors yards are beautiful... no treatment.....I canceled. Nice customer service, but not the outcome I was hoping for.

Worst customer service experience ever. They schedule my tree and shrub service 3 times and each time they were a NO SHOW!!! I will be looking for a new lawn service. You would think for a all of the money they charge the would be more attentive to your needs.

Im very happy with TruGreen Lawn Care service. Ill admit that in the past I havent always been so pleased, primarily in the area of customer interface, but over the past couple of years Ive seen definite improvement. Their online system is now easier to use and theyve recently rolled out their mobile app which tells me when my next service is scheduled and when the service tech is on the way.

I have never been so disappointed in a lawn treatment service, I lost nearly 70 percent of my lawn after 7 treatments this summer. Awful service, I recommend choosing another lawn service .BUYER BE AWARE

My second time trying their service. First time I used them my yard was same as when they started 4 months later. This time the manager promised they would take care of the weeds but after months still the same. Waste of money and I will never use again. Update, received call from manager saying they will come out and see what was going on and respray . That was 3 months ago, have not heard anything. Not surprised !!!

I was very pleased with the services of TruGreen because they sent a specialist out ASAP after my wife called to say she wasnt satisfied with all the weeds appearing after the last application. We had recently had a fertilizer application and then it rained a lot so we needed the weeds killed. Every employee we have waved to or talked to has been very nice and friendly and always answered our questions. We always try to give them a bottle of water or Gatorade.

For the most part my lawn has improved using this company. Having said that, I still have some weeds that just resist being eradicated.

This company is absolutely terrible. Lawn is not green unbelievable amount of weeds. They can not be applying any weed control or fertilizer to the lawn. You will be very sorry if you use TruGreen and wasting your hard earned money.

I am extremely dissatisfied with TruGreen lawn care service and so are multiple others I spoke with in the neighborhood. This is the second year I have used them instead of using a different service. Problems started a month or more ago and they came out and said they would take care of it by applying some product. Things started to green up a little but soon turned worse and are now even worse. Others in the neighborhood who are using other lawn services have much better looking lawns. I called and I was told they would be out for a free service call yesterday and that the service manager in Monroeville would call me (Still waiting for hear from someone) to find out what the problem is and for them to correct it. (part of their so called program guarantee). According to an email I received they did come out to look at the lawn yesterday but did not do anything. No information was left at the door and since we were home no one came to the door to let us know they were there or to discuss. To date no one has contacted me and things are no better. The attached photo shows what my lawn looked like early yesterday morning. It is an absolute mess...and I am paying for this service???? My next door neighbors lawns look no better. Their back yard looks like brown hay field. This is not a watering issue as we and the neighbors do have sprinkler systems. When I mentioned to my neighbor that I was supposed to hear from service manager they too have been calling Trugreen to report problems. I also then checked with my neighbor across the street and they too were calling TruGreen as they are not satisfied. Very disappointed and will be discussing with others whose lawn looks fine to change to the lawn care service they are using.

I would give them a D+. For what it costs, and what you get sometimes, the service is not worth it. I bought a bunch of clearance lawn care chemicals recently, and for that cost compared to what a TruGreen application cost, I think I would go with the store bought chemicals. I know you can always call TruGreen, and have them redo the application, but that is a PITA, and it seems a lot of the time they redo it, it really doesnt make much difference. I dont know what to say, I just wish their products worked like the way they are advertised. I just want to have them take care of it the first time, and not have to chase after them all the time when it doesnt. They are very customer friendly, and I like their representatives when I see and talk to them when they are applying the treatments. But I do need an effective treatment for my lawn that I can depend on. Sorry Trugreen.

Reason I left the other Lawn Care because I never knew when they were coming out I thought you were coming out every month but you never been out in May now its June

The tech guys were very informative. I was not happy with the results of the treatments. There was not any significant change in my yard.

Switched to tru green this year and my yard is in the worst condition in the 17 years I have owned my home. I noticed a small patch of nut sedge in June-I have never had this with other lawn care company. I called to have sprayed. They show up 14 day later fertilize my lawn and put down grub control nothing for the nut sedge I called about. I call to tell them it is spreading, I have broad leaf weeds and I am seeing some dead spots in my lawn. Nothing happens. 2 weeks later I call and again they come the following week and fertilize and do not spray the nut sedge which has now spread to a 15 by 15 patch. After 2 more calls over the next week where I ask for someone to come look at my lawn as the number of weeds has grown, nut sedge spreading and dead brown spots growing in number and size. Lee did finally come and called me and left a message to call him. I called 5 times over 2 weeks ,left a message for him to call me,registered a complaint and nothing. Now I have nut sedge throughout my entire lawn, my front yard has virtually over 100 dead spots from 12 by 12 inches to some 4 feet but 4 feet and I have broad leaf weeds through my entire lawn. It will take me a year lots of work and $ to get my lawn to the condition before Tru Lawn. I called and cancelled my service detailed my complaint and the poor service I received. They said they would send a note to branch manager and they would call me.That was 2 weeks ago and no one has called . Very poor customer service, lack of willingness to take responsibility, total failure on their guarantee of customer satisfaction, no remorse for what they did to my lawn and they don t seem to care.

There communication within the company is TERRIBLE! Not sure what areas to spray, send a rep out, he never shows up, keep calling to check and see how things are going, tell them a problem nothing is done about it.the right hand dont know what the left hand is doing. I stopped my service . They would have to pay me if they wanted my business again.

The treatment is generally very effective for keeping undesirable plants out of my lawn and if weeds persist youll come back out and retreat if necessary to get rid of the weeds. The lawn looks green and lush

We have been a customer of Trugreen for over 8 years, and for the past several years I have been complaining to any one I could talk to with no results I have weeds, weeds, and more weeds in my lawn. My neighbor had the same problem she told me she posted on here and got results, they sprayed this past week and the crabgrass is dyeing.

I have had Scotts doing my lawn for about 5 years or so. It has always been beautiful, lush and green. I dont go out much when its hot so I didnt notice until my brother asked if I fired my lawn company. OMG, my lawn is a joke. I cant even describe it. Many times neighbors walking their dogs have commented how beautiful my grass is. NOT ANY MORE. TruGreen bought out Scotts and its in a downward slide now. Was on hold for 20 minutes TWO TIMES.
