Technician Kevin was excellent!!! I had the opportunity to discuss all my concerns prior to his implementing the backyard lawn treatment not provided at our last scheduled appointment. Kevin also explained reason (dogs?) the previous treatment was skipped to be rescheduled. I'm very happy with Kevin's work and hope that he will be our technician on all our treatments in the future.
It truly works! I tried other products including Sunday and struggled to keep a nice lawn. What a transformation in 1 year from when I switched from Sunday to TruGreen - see the pictures for proof of incredible results.

I have had multiple issues with this company s performance. I believe they have serious in house issues with communication. I also believe that they are honorable to their customers by the way they have responded to my communications to them about my complaints by phone and email. Their representatives are always courteous and friendly when I call. I think often times customers do not complain because they feel let down or that no one cares to listen. If you keep to yourself they can do nothing about it. My service today was free because they do care and do listen.

I have been pleased with TruGreen treating the plants in my Japanese-style garden for over a decade. I feel confident that my plants are well fertilized and treated for diseases.
TruGreen guy showed up at the wrong house and killed our bee lawn by spraying weed killer all over it. Were not even on the same street as the house he was supposed to go to - I know this because he left a receipt on our door with the other houses address on it.

Then let me know a free service was coming, aerated my lawn and broke my invisible dog fence. $211 to repair, still no reimbursement from True Green despite several phone call and emails with their customer service Dept. And they sent me a bill for over $400 for the free service. Done with them

Very sloppy and careless service. Multiple times they came early in the morning and left our front gate wide open after service, today my dog ran straight out the gate to the street without us knowing, and sent the entire house into panic attack.

In the summer of 2023, we had a terrible customer service experience with TruGreen Minnetonka. We had contracted for front yard spray of weeds, but they sprayed both front and back. The back yard had an intentional clover lawn and also backs up to a pond so it was full of summertime toads and other wildlife. Weve no way of knowing what happened to the wildlife, but we know our little dog (who has a dog door) ran all through the wet chemical. The clover lawn died. In the few days following, a trugreen manager came out and acknowledged the error and said that they would reimburse us for the costs to replant the lawn. Obviously, that is necessary, but a huge amount of re-work for us and a lost season of growth. With no other recourse we put hours of work into replanting the lawn and money into rebuying the seed. We have been contacting TruGreen on the regular ever since. After 3 months of hounding them, they refunded the charge for the chemical spraying (literally the least they could do). We have had NO other financial reimbursement for them killing our lawn. All phone calls and emails go to corporate and physical mail was returned. Weve gotten no further follow up. We are now beyond the 4 month mark. We are beyond frustrated at TruGreens horrible customer service and complete lack of desire to help us fix the problem they caused. I do NOT recommend them. If all is well you are probably fine but if not you are ignored. Go with another company - this one is terrible.
Horrible service, impossible to cancel -even after you do find a way. They still bill you. Not to mention their fertilizer is toxic and bad for your health
I cant say it loudly enough, STAY AWAY FROM TRUGREEN! I responded to a promo for a prepaid plan when I first moved into my house. Their service was sporadic and frequently rescheduled; they crammed too many treatments into short periods of time instead of being reasonably spread out throughout the year. The mosquito treatment and weed treatments were completely ineffective. The tree/bush treatment? Well they only sprayed one tree because the others in my yard were too big to spray (but not too big to charge me for the whole plan). Then, to watch the guy spray fertilizer on my lawn via my security cameras and realize that my splotchy colored lawn was likely because of REALLY poor coverage from the application. It was all enough to convince me that TruGreen is a terrible company. Then, to top it off, they apparently set me up for auto renewal (which I expressly rejected when I prepaid last year), so they tried to send people out this year to treat my yard again. Contacting customer service was like trying to quit the gym or Comcast... round and round and round trying to keep me. NEVER AGAIN! Run from this company and hire someone local.
Bad service burnt my front yard and charge my credit card even after stopping the service. I specifically asked/paid for one year service to try and asked not to be on auto renew. Was charged $100 again without approval and being told that I have signed up for auto renew. There is no paper trail from my end on that. This place is definitely setting them selves up for class action in my opinion!!!!!
Poor communication. They sprayed my yard with weed and feed, did not tell me they were coming, and sprayed all over my dogs toys.

Terrible Service!!! They told me they would cut my shrubs and trees and that service was never done! They charged me for a service they don t do and never did! Only reason why I signed up with them was because they told me they would do that service! My shrubs are so high because they never cut any of the shrubs!! Then they charged me again for another year!
This company is a joke to say the least! Not only once but TWICE we have caught them claiming they came and sprayed the yard. The first time the person came and just walked the outside of the yard only and was gone in 5 minuets. We have .75 of an acre and there is no way you can spray a whole yard this size in 5 minuets. The second time they sprayed the yard the person pulled the truck up in front of the house and didnt even get out!! This was all caught on cameras. If we didnt prepay for all of these services I would have told them to just never come back. Now here we are in fall and the have rescheduled the aeration and over-seeding twice. After marking the irrigation system yet again they are a no show! No call, no text, no email, no communication period. They now say they cant come for another week! This now is a waste of money because we rescheduled the winterizing of the irrigation system and had to move it twice and that company will not reschedule with us. How are we expected to wet the seed or even wet the ground as required by TruGreen before they aerate? Save yourself and find a better company!
This company burned my lawn with fertilizer. After many phone calls they admitted their wrongdoing. After offering a free areation and seeding they still billed me for wrecking my lawn. I am now Being persued by bill collectors for not paying them to wreck my yard. I hope $137 is worth all the negative reviews i will be posting.
Something has happened here- Impossible to get someone on the phone ! I was told it is a 3 hour wait. You are in the service business and if this continues you are going to lose business. HOW can a person talk to someone live? Negative
TruGreens chemicals are highly effective in weed control. I would fault them, though, on consistency. My first treatment for this season was deferred 3 times due to unknown circumstances. My daughter who lives in the same town, only 5 miles away from me, had 2 treatments before I had my first. Perhaps hiring and training of new employees was a factor?
Do not use this service. They ran a machine leaking oil around the perimeter of front and back yard. UPDATE 7/28/21 TruGreen set an appointment for a manager , the one who handles really critical escalated problems. I took off work because they would not give me a time of day for the appointment. I was told he would walk the lawn with me, survey the problem and we d come up with a solution. Didn t show all day! There was no phone call NOTHING! Few days later I get an automated call saying they re going to do a free aeration, the same thing that did nothing to solve the problem last time. Why? Because there is the soil is dead from the oil. Nothing will grow there! These are people with lawn care knowledge?!? See below for what I have to do now for the 4th time in 10 months. The process for resolving the situation: Call 800 number, they leave note for a manager Manager will respond within 24-48 hours If you happen to miss their call, they give you the same 800 number and you start over. Once you do connect with a manager, they tell you that another manager will follow up with you within 5-7 business days. Guess what you do if they don t show up. Back to step one. They have still not fixed the problem. My lawn still looks like this
1) Poor results; 2) Lack of an ability to internally communicate customer requests; 3) Poor account record keeping; and 3) Failing to keep their promise - as they love to advertise - to return for no cost follow-up sprays. POOR RESULTS: Ive seen more weeds this year than in my past 25 yrs. of hiring a lawn treatment company. This is the first/only/last time I will ever hire Trugreen. LACK OF INTERNAL COMMUNICATION: Apparently, they took away the ability of their customers to reach their local offices - at least as it relates to customer service calls. In my case, this happened (conveniently for Trugreen) AFTER I hired them and pre-paid in full. During my hiring/pre-payment call, I was speaking with my local office who assured me that I .... could reach out to us here anytime. That call took place less than a month before the transition to the call center, leaving any sane person to believe they knew it was coming. And now, because all calls get re-routed to their central customer service center, any important detailed instructions or requests get lost and never followed up on. Unfortunately, Trugreens policies/software programming/procedures/I.T. systems/policies make it even worse for their own cust. serv. reps. trying to log such requests. As a result, nothing of any consequence gets through to the local office/boots on the ground. POOR ACCOUNT RECORD KEEPING: Ive twice had to cancel an aeration appointment they made - even though I specifically told them from the first phone call and pre-payment that I didnt want aeration. Most recent need to cancel such an appointment was within the last hour. FAILING TO KEEP THEIR PROMISE TO RETURN: I have requested a return visit - which they love to advertise. They say that if weeds are spotted following a treatment (and given the requisite amount of time that proves the treatment didnt work), theyll come back to spot treat as needed. Ive gave it their mandated amount of waiting time, and central customer service promised to get to it, but they didnt show until the next scheduled treatment.
I hired this firm to provide mosquito control last summer. The service was modestly successful at best . The issue is that they will not go away. We did not renew. We do not want the service. They refuse to cancel our service and have been unresponsive when asked to cancel.
Their driver is excessively speeding through our neighborhood in excelsior while kids are waiting at the bus stop. Doesn t acknowledge families asking them to slow down. I d they conduct their service with the same attention to detail as the speed limit I would avoid.
Run!!! This was the worst experience ever. I have been dealing with them since May with a very simple request .please just give me the services I asked for! They mis-measured my property which resulted in techs coming on sight and then leaving without rendering service. The on site techs were quick to point this out, and all said they could have someone re-measure my property. I told them repeatedly I don t care how much the services cost I just want my property treated for weeds and fertilized each month. Another month would go by with no service. I would call and be promised that someone would come and remeasure or fix my issue. Around and around I went with this literally all summer. I have been getting the run around with no end in sight. I have called corporate. I have talked to their techs. After multiple attempts to rectify the fact that they were not giving me the services I to cancel. They used car salesman talked me into keeping it promising to finally fix it. Today yet another tech knocked on my door and again was completely confused. It is unbelievable how terrible this company is the only way to get service is to call their call center and there is zero follow through from them at the local level which means nothing gets done. All the while I ve been charged thousands of dollars by them because I prepaid for my services which were never rendered. DO NOT USE.
I cannot recommend this branch of the company. After burning my lawn during the drought they agreed to aerate and overseed to repair it. When my neighbor saw them aerate and seed one path around my yard the tech yelled and swore at him to mind his own business. The customer care person sent another team out that I got on security cameras aerating only and not applying seed. They were supposed to send yet another team out but they never showed. The customer service that is based out of state was nothing but helpful. Unfortunately this branch doesnt seem capable of finding reliable employees that care about their business.
I was skeptical at first. Our lawn was pretty bad, and this summers drought didnt help. But the before and after pictures say it all... On a side note: I had to call them back twice because they forgot to do the backyard. Im overall happy with my results Positive

Over the past year my yard has become significantly worse. I have seen zero improvement..more like a decline it the health and quality of my lawn. I called to let them know I was cancelling their service. They then asked to do a free application and will send a manager out to speak to me in person in the next day or so. 3 days rolls around and I saw a new sign in my yard. So they came without telling me or speaking with me. I called again. Another promising of someone will contact you no later than Monday. Tuesday night rolls around and still no phone call. What a joke. Ive wasted so much money on this company.
They did a poorly managed application of a 2,4-d containing herbicide on my neighbors lawn, which drifted over and killed my pepper and tomato plants and injurying my grapevines. In order for this mistake to happen, it means they had an untrained person doing the herbicide application and/or that person did not care to follow the label directions to prevent drift. I dont recommend them to anyone who gardens or who has a neighbor with a garden. Photo is of 2,4d damage on one of the pepper plants before it died.

This company has the most aggressive and unethical sales techniques I have encountered. I used to be a customer, but they would call all the time to push additional services. What s worse, is that they would use a script that made it seem like you had already signed up for it: When can we schedule x ? I would have to ask questions to find out it was not part of what I had signed up for. I asked them to put me on their do not call list many times and they do not respect it. I haven t been a customer for a couple of years and they have been calling me repeatedly, despite my request to be on the do not call list. If you have a great product or service, you shouldn t have to harass people to push your product.
R.I.P. TruGreen from 2013-2018. The lawn service was great the 1st and 2nd year. Progressively got worse and worse. My GF is a teacher and doesnt work during the summer. Last year she observed the technician spray the sides of the house but NOT the back yard. He was there for maybe 5 minutes. Two weeks later I have weeds in my backyard. I call in to talk with someone and they have the nerve to try and upsell me on mosquito control or grub preventer for my shrubs and trees. This company needs to take care of their own customers first and not worry about upselling. Their customer service is an absolute joke and are always calling from an Illinois area code.
I rate TruGreen Lawn Care 5 starts for customer service and transparency. Our service provider communicates before visits and knocks on the door during the visit to check in and answer questions. Our contract was emailed to us prior to beginning service and the company has guaranteed their work.
Called TruGreen last weekend to set up a consult for someone to come out to take a look at my lawn to determine what services I needed. I let them know it was urgent and they promised to set something up in 2-3 days. It s been over a week and have heard nothing. Contacted customer service twice, sent emails, nothing. No correspondence. AND they charged my credit card! Be careful! I would NOT trust this company.
We have a large property with woods and wetlands nearby. We have been mosquito free with our first application and then a redo after a big rainfall. We are very pleased so far, to say the least.!!
11/26/19 UPDATE (From 1 to 2 stars): ------------------------------------------------------------- I meant to do this a few weeks ago, but I always want to make sure the proper reviews are given, especially if the company did something in response to my original review. So after all was said and done for the 2019 year... TruGreen ended up following through and did the full treatment (according to the receipt left in my door). However, I spent way too much time and frustration on this to rate them any higher. The phone number listed in the company response below is just their generic customer service line. I couldnt even get in contact with who I needed to speak with. I just gave up, but the last receipt I got said they did the reseeding and such. So I dont actually know for sure, but Ill take them at their word. I cannot stand canned responses like the one below though. TruGreen could have easily increased this review to 4 or 5 stars had they actually made an effort to reach me. My name is right here. I gave enough info in my original response to reach out, but they did not. Customer service drives customer satisfaction and retention... and I feel after being a customer for a few years now, it has been on the decline. Hopefully that will turn around. Maybe Ill be able to come back here next year and bump them up another star or three..?!. ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- TruGreen was great for the 1st year, but after the 2nd and 3rd years, theyve proven to have terrible customer service. I was going to switch companies last year, so I called to see if they would price match. The rep who answered said no problem. We went over all the services, and since the price she came up with was much better than the competition, I double-checked to make sure it included ALL of what I wanted. She guaranteed me it did. And then she offered a bonus discount to pay up front. Of course, I took that opportunity like I do every year. Long story short, she did not sign me up for everything discussed. I asked for a supervisor to review the call recording. They would not. Bill from Minnetonka actually said he could not review the call because it was set with the call center and not the local branch. I asked for him to contact the call center and request the recording. He said he could not and he did not know which one it would be. Im pretty sure the computer should have the data saying how and where I signed up. They also would not stand by what they offered and refused me the services I paid for. And since they were not put into the system, there was no refund to get back either. I am very disappointed. Id like someone higher than Bill to reach out to me and make this right. I cannot believe he was willing to do nothing for a 3-year old customer. I also cannot believe that he said hed rather lose me as a customer than to just do the over-seeding with the aeration. Something so simple to keep a customer happy. The right thing for TruGreen to do was to get that recording of the phone call to prove what I was offered and what I paid for. Time to call Spring Touch and Spring Green back again. They were much more professional and considerate when I called them last year. Thanks
Poor service
Cheating companies, we talk about 6 time per years and the receptionist said 250$. Then I said let me with the other company and they said you don t need to check let me give you discount for 211$ and I said okay. After I paid and we hang up the phone I just found out they do only 4 times per years.
We were satisfied with true green from the past services the reason why we did contact them again for lawn care this year. Unfortunately, the guy who came in this morning to start the care was really rude and mean, he was black. I came out to approach him but by the time he got out from his truck, he was asking with a smirk on his face, what is the dog doing here? He saw our neighbor s dog roaming around within the vicinity of their yard. I answered, that is our neighbor s dog and it s ok because that is their yard, our yard is inside the fence. But he replied in a very rude manner with hand gestures, No! This dog should not be around roaming. Eventually my neighbor heard him talking in a very loud manner that she called the dog to get inside. This black guy, did not even introduce his name in the first place, he could have asked in a nice manner to tell our neighbor to let their dog go inside since he will be spraying a chemical but instead he talked in a very rude, unprofessional manner. I Told him to leave since I can t stand his rudeness and I said that I will call the company to cancel our service because of this incident. The worst part was that he replied, I don t care! and he immediately left. True green, we were very disappointed with this person that you sent to do our lawn care. Please address otherwise, you will lose a lot of customers. I don t trust this kind of person who will take care of our lawn.
We signed up for service over the winter - worst mistake ever. Never again. Service was scheduled for X day - no show, no call. Called and got national rep - you need to confirm the date scheduled for us to come out (where does it state this? No where!) Confirmed date for a week later - no show, no call. Called and got same BS - said that we had confirmed. National person said its because of the rain the last few days - What rain? Third date come and they show up - wife goes out to make sure they know where the lot lines are as our lot is oddly shaped - oh yeah, we know what we are doing - she observes them missing about 1/3 of our yard. But they were rude so she walked away. I called and said that they missed about 1/3rd of yard asking to have local rep call us. No local rep calls - they send another person out who then treats what they again thought was our yard - it was not! A neighbors yard and the neighbor is mighty angry with us. Call again - HAVE THE D*** LOCAL REP CALL SO I CAN TALK TO THEM. No call. Ever. Second treatment date comes - again no call, no show. When they finally do show up they again miss a large portion of the yard. Canceled service. Never again.
Update - When I called to cancel they offered me a discount to stay. EVERYONE SHOULD CALL AND GET THIS DISCOUNT, it seems cheap not to offer it to loyal customers. Had to pass it up based how bad my experience had been, but maybe those that are happy can save some $$$. Original Review - It boils down to this - I called and confirmed changes over the phone to my service last year to this year. Then on my first service they just executed the same plan from last year, which was wrong. They will call you a dozen times to upsell, but they do not listen when you are the one wanting to make a change. The applications seemed to control my weeds, but I assume there are many other companies who could do the same. Ive canceled, and I do not recommend using this company.
Had a TruGreen salesman come around and try selling me EAB treatment...........for my boxelder trees! Very crooked business to try praying upon unknowing property owners. Dont be fooled and swindled by them!
Was called for service but had to delay as we were not ready due to the fact that we wanted grass cut beforehand. Also we were going out of town. Service was put off until our return. We called BUDDY and he came on the day scheduled. We could not ask for better service! Thank you to BUDDY a most valued TRUGREEN employee!
Buyer beware! I ordered the series of mosquito control spray for the season. The first application was very thorough and the service man spent a good 20 minutes doing the entire lawn. The second service came and that application lasted 5 minutes and missed half the lawn, but somehow he documented using the same amount of spray as the first. Since I was home, I watched the process being done. When I called TruGreen I was told the service had been completed. I asked if he had somehow watched the application?? Then I was told why didnt I run out and get the service man before he left and tell him to finish. I did not know he was even leaving. He than became defensive and told me it was done. When I asked to speak to a manager, no-one was available? The customer service on the telephone has been non-existent the last two times I have called. If you have a choice, use someone else.
Matt is focused on service and satisfaction. We have benefited from his professional approach. I would request no one else. Oh, by the way our long look great! Satisfied!
Lawn Service ok. THEY CALL ME EVERY WEEK TO UPSELL ME. Im not exaggerating. every week!. I ask them to stop calling me! Nope. and the sales people turn rude the second you dont buy what they are selling. the only reason Im still with this company is I havent taken the time to change it yet.

I used them years ago and didnt think their service was all that satisfactory. I decided to give them a second try... NEVER, EVER USE THIS COMPANY! Ive got more creeping Charlie than I had at the beginning of the year. Customer service ?? You can forget That! Called twice, second time was told someone else who handles my are would call.... you guessed it NO CALL BACK! They are pretty quick to send you the bill for serivce. Send an email to their corp. Offices.... youre right again.... never heard a thing! Call again and was talked to as if I were in fault! Im in property management..... BELIEVE ME.... THIS WILL BE KNOWN. Dont use this company
This was the first summer I used TruGreen. I would not recommend them to anyone! I have had horrible luck with service representatives not following clear directions and for stating they applied certain applications to my lawn when in fact they have not. I know this because I watch what they do and what they say they do and dont do. They have falsely stated one thing and done another on multiple occasions. I have had to contact and complain about almost all service applications throughout the summer and request price adjustments. I requested the service manager contact me twice and it took THREE DAYS or more for a return call from the service manager. That is unacceptable. The service representatives that come to do the applications do not the name of various weeds or basic lawn care details from my experience. They are worthless. Rather, they are just trained to do the standard applications and are in an out of your property in less than 3 minutes. It seems like they really dont care about your lawn. Working with this company was more stress than good!
Used TruGreen over a decade ago. They flat out lied about doing service a couple of times as we caught them putting signs up without doing any spraying. I took a chance again this year. I had thought a couple neighbors were using them successfully (later to find out theyve both fired Trugreen). This time around they took my information, signed me up, and then disappeared. Its been over 6 weeks since i contacted them and signed up, and still havent heard a single thing from them. This is by far the worst customer service company Ive ever worked with.
By far one of the worst customer service offered I have ever experienced. Its as if no one ever tells anyone else about details of the service and their applications are NOT working for controlling weeds .... when I called they said a manager would call me ... I am still waiting for a call ... 2 weeks later
Very disappointed with poor results and lack of customer service.
I have two properties with you. The one is always in great shape with no weeds, but it also started on a good foot. But my other property started thin with many weeds creeping in from my neighbors lots. In one year the lawn has improved 300%. The grass is taking over and really full. I was thinking this may take 3 years to become established. But the results have been so fast that I need to work on other yard project just to keep up. Thanks Tru Green!
We are very unhappy with how our yard has turned out. We contacted you a few times now with the hope that you would make things right. We are still waiting for a response after 2 weeks have gone by. We were guaranteed that our lawn would look and match the rest of our lawn. This has NOT happened!!!
We have used TruGreen for about a year and a half. Our lawn has never looked better and our neighbors comment quite often how great it looks. We usually have tons of weeds in the spring and then spend the rest of the year battling them. We had virtually no weeds this spring and the lawn is healthier than ever. Thanks TruGreen!
Dylan recently treated my lawn and did a very nice job. I didnt even know he was here until he was finished and ready to leave. My neighbor recently asked who treats my lawn because she needs here lawn treated. I told her Trugreen. I guess that my lawn is looking good and this is what I want.
I am truly glad I decided to contact TruGreen. I have been using store bought product and just not able to keep my lawn weed free. Since I started with TruGreen, I have seen major improvements. There are still some trouble areas, but I have only had 4 applications. So far, I love to see the improvement!
