Good afternoon, I have now paid almost 800 dollars this year! annd my lawn it’s the absolute worse its ever been! It does not matter what is wrong , right or different about my grass. I have typical bluegrass sod installed 3 years ago. Last year my lawn was perfect. Either you take care of my lawn or I am stopping payment Immediately! If its fungus, fix it!!
This is my second year using TruGreen. I don’t think I will be using them for a third. This year when they came to aerate and overseed my lawn, they damaged my property. Looks like they ran over and bumped into things on my property with their aerator machine. They put a decent hole in my fence. They cracked the corner of the siding on my house. And they broke my plastic gutter down spouts. To add insult to injury, they didn’t even do the overseeding part. Which by the way is the second year in a row they skipped over doing the over seeding. I had to call them to get them to come back to do the seeding. Which I have to do again this year with them. Plus getting them to pay for the damage done to my property. I’m sure there are other companies out there where I won’t have these headaches. Update: I had called to register a complaint. The person I spoke to took down all my info and said that this would escalated to a manger and expect to hear from them on Monday. No one has reached out to me yet…. Update: A manager called me back and was very apologetic. She assured me they will address the issue.
We had new sod put down before the season started last year. By the end of August our lawn was dying. Several mushrooms were appearing. Trugreen inspected the lawn after we made a complaint. We were told the sod had fungus growing and mushrooms are good for the lawn. It is a sign the lawn is getting plenty of water. Trugreen did Aeration/Seed in the Fall and again this spring. Our front lawn is still not growing, but our back lawn did come back. Maybe because we planted our own seeds in the Fall after Trugreen did their service. My husband wanted me to cancel the contract this season, but I decided to give the Mineola office another chance. The only positive outcome we had was no weeds in our grass. Definitely canceling my contract ASAP.

SUCH A SCAM!!! Terrible experience!!! I just canceled my subscription after only one visit! I always take care of my lawn by myself and use weed killer. There was a weed that I couldn't identify or kill. It was destroying my lawn! TruGreen came and put down some "common" weed killer and never told me what the weed was. Common weed killer won't kill this weed! This is why I hired them in the first place! They also said that my lawn was in good condition and that I didn't have any lawn-damaging insects. I called them and they said they would come back today to adress the weed issue. Yesterday, I decided to pull on some sections of my lawn and found many Grubs! Last I checked, Grubs were lawn-damaging insects! Total morons! These people don't know their business! This is obvious! The Grubs would have eaten all my lawn if "I" didn't do "their job" and simply pull on the grass! I was waiting for them to come today and they never showed up. I called and they told me that they rescheduled the visit for one week from today, and they never even told me! What a joke! NEVER HIRE THESE PEOPLE! IF YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE RIGHT, DO IT YOURSELF!!! This TruGreen branch was the Mineola, N.Y. branch on Long Island.
The technician came for only 5 min to treat my lawn, and I have seen no results. All the weeds are still there and growing. I regret pre paying them.
Technician never did his job
I have been a customer for trees and shrubs since the early 1980s. It was called Chemlawn when I started. For the most part I have been very pleased with the results of my service which really is only as good as the technician is. The tech now assigned to me, Andrew E is outstanding. He knows shrubs and what they are susceptable to and how he has to spray them . I have had many techs over all this time, and a few did not take their job seriously. They would do spraying just on outer leaves instead of into the wood of a shrub. As a result I lost major, very mature privacy hedge shrubs and trees to insect infestation: the wooly adelgid for hemlocks and armored scale for skip laurels and euonymous , costing me several thousands of dollars to replace. I have to say that service for a call back has been prompt and effective . Now I know what to always look for and report it before a shrub is too far gone. I am extremely pleased with the outstanding service Andrew E provides.

I had a terrible experience with this service. The billing is very unclear and I believe this is done purposely. With repeated calls their customer service representatives all provide different answers and they seem themselves confused. You never know what you are paying for. At the end of last season I was told I had a credit for future service for the start of the next season since I signed up late into the season (July). Now they came and charged for the service. Today I was told I have no services remaining. So they continued to come regardless, even though I never signed their new contract and did not pre pay as I had done previously. Lastly, my lawn looks the same, full of weeds. Overpriced, unable to explain billing, inconsistent answers.
Does this place even need a review. Its great.
I filled out the form on their site to receive pricing info. Not only did I not get pricing, but I got a text message from someone asking the same questions I already answered on the site, AND someone came banging on my door the next day from TruGreen!! I found that super creepy and it crossed many boundaries. I don t understand how simply filling out a form for pricing info requires someone coming to my house and LITERALLY banging on my door! Just for that I have zero interest in trying them. I feel creeped out and stalked. No thank you.

I had weeds like crazy. I fought and fought. Never stayed for long. It s hard to work and maintain ur lawn. This place set the pace for me. And now my lawn has been excellent for some time
My visits were not communicated to me the day prior to service which is an issue because I have lock gates I need to open for the tech. This was eventually rectified and I received a reminder the day before but no time frame was provided for the Techs arrival. I thought they would show up at 8:30 am as the last two times and they did not. When I called for an update I was informed arrival would be from 10am-3pm. This didnt work for me and when I asked to reschedule I was informed they were booked for rest of June . I think its unacceptable to have a customer wait such a long period of time especially when the company failed to provide the time frame of service etc. I closed my account, the service applications are not cheap and then on top of that I have to deal with poor customer service. No thank you.
I have given this service way too many chances to be reliable but unfortunately I ve had so many problems with them that I give up. I ve had service people come to my house, sit in their truck for ten minutes and drive away without doing anything so their gps system shows they were at my house. We have a guy on camera who arrived one day, put a pesticide sign on my back lawn and then drove away. When they do get out of their trucks to spray for insects or mosquitoes their equipment is often broken. They complain to me that their office doesn t seem to care that they can t spray properly and refuses to fix their equipment. Their trucks frequently break down causing weeks long delays . Today I sat at home because they were supposed to spray for mosquitoes and I wanted to make sure they actually did spray. They were supposed to be here between 7-12:00. It s a quarter after one and there s no sign of them. So I thought to myself what am I an idiot? I m going to sit home and waste my time just to babysit these servicemen? That s when I said enough is enough.
Way overpriced compared to most places. They probably do decent work but you will pay for it and if you decide not to go with them you will get emails, voicemails, phone calls from them with all different numbers for months.
A tru headache. Been trying to schedule services with them for the past month. Once they rescheduled our appt with no real reasoning. Another time my husband calls to just inquire about possible other dates in a voicemail and then finds out that the company immediately canceled our appt without calling him first. A manager then tells us a new date. The day comes, my husband calls, and they say they had no appt for that day. So we had to call again to get an appt for later in the week (today). We ask about what time this appt will be (because people have lives) and they can never tell you or send e-mail confirmation. My husband while at work gets a notification today that they are basically coming in a few min while I m the middle of something at home. Luckily I was able to catch the worker before he left who was nice. Though Tru Green told my husband no one has to be home, I was told by the worker that he wouldn t be able to do half of the work because we needed to sign a form. He was gone after 10 min of spraying so I had no real time to ask him questions (wasn t his fault he was doing his job). I just really hate the lack of organization from this company and how they can never give a window of when they are coming and a better appt system. If we don t see results within a reasonable time we re canceling. There s so many companies that do this work that the headache and miscommunication is not worth it. Hope they clean up their act.

Got on a spam list with them and there s literally no way to unsubscribe. Blocking the email doesn t work as they have bot generated emails. Their advertisers must get paid for how many emails they send. Scam
