Hawaiian Turfgrass in Mililani

Hawaiian Turfgrass came and I received an estimate that was exactly what I paid. Work was done quickly and exactly what I wanted. Lawn really looks great.

Sean was helpful and very knowledgeable. There was small miscommunication on the delivery date, but Sean took care of it and re-delivered on the correct date. He definitely knows his grass and the quality in comparison to some other places was better. Vincent, the driver is really nice and helpful as well. You could tell he is a hard worker. However, the El Toro Zoysia Sod I purchased was not all entirely consistent. Some were nice and green, while others seemed a little dried out and slightly yellow. Additionally, the thicknesses of the SOD varied as much as a 1-1/4 so expect your newly installed yard to have distinguishable elevation changes from SOD sheet to sheet. We rolled the yard with a steel drum lawn roller with over 35 gallons of water in it to mitigate drastic appearance of the SOD joints. It helped some but I will definitely have to spend some time levelling the yard once it establishes.

Sean was easy and great to work with. Communication via phone and email was awesome. I even got correspondence on a Sunday! Ordered zeon zoysia twice and had it shipped to me on the neighbor island. Super satisfied with Hawaiian Turfgrass and Sean. Grass was amazing! I definitely recommend Hawaiian Turf. Will be purchasing more in the future. 5 stars for sure!!

Sean was always responsive and very helpful over the phone. Didn t realize how much work I was getting myself into by removing over 1,000 sq ft of old grass (with just a pick axe), tilling, leveling, rolling, new compost, and then laying out 120+ pieces of sod by myself. So I would highly recommend having them take care of everything. Worth the money, and it ll save you tons of time (and aching muscles/joints).

Hawaiian Turfgrass is overpriced for the service and quality of sod they provide. Their owner Sean, all he cares about is the bottom line. He doesnt care about providing the best service to his customers. He rushed his crew to get our lawn completed which had them cut corners resulting in breaking a sewer line cap and scratching the side of my house. The workers he had were lazy and did not do good work. For the price you pay, you expect better service and quality of work. Also, the sod they sell is not top grade. I had him replace several pieces because it was dying. If you go with them, make sure they dont sell you dead sod.

Buying grass couldnt be easier. You just call, place your order, pay, then drive to a beautiful area of Mililani and they load it up for you. I ended up buying about 320 square feet of Zeon Zoysia for my backyard. I went to pick up sod three times over a two week span...working with Hawaiian Turfgrass was pleasant and painless, as it should be.

We are extremely happy with our sod from Hawaiian Turfgrass. The sod pieces were of great quality and the grass is thriving at our home. We bought a very large amount to do around 3,000sq ft and so we paid for delivery. They were earlier than expected which was WONDERFUL because we were able to start sooner and they were able to place the pallets under our carport in the shade for us. All around the experience and the quality of what we paid for was well worth it and we are so happy to have a large grass yard for our dogs and future Keiki to enjoy! Ben , Operation Manager, did his best to keep project on schedule but unfortunately they couldnt complete it on before I left for a trip. I had complete trust in Ben that they would complete the job to my satisfaction. I am very pleased with the results of my yard and get compliments from neighbors. There were a few discrepancies that they came back to quickly resolve.

The ordering process is fast, and I was able to get next day delivery. Many of the sod pieces were cut at different thicknesses (some thick, some really thin) so the lawn looks unleveled. They deliver a pallet, so if you can t fit the pallet past your fence you ll need to carry heavy 2x4 strips one at a time.

We were recommended to use Hawaiian Turfgrass by our landscaper and we re glad we did! Sean was great to do business with and the quality of the grass (Seashore Paspalum - also recommended by our landscaper) is really good - the kind you want to roll around on like small-kid time. Our dogs love their new grass area too! We ended up needing more and Sean was really good about making sure that the pieces we needed the next morning was ready. Outstanding service. Top quality product. With just 24 hours notice I was able to pick up 300sqft of Zeon Zoysia. (They do deliver, but not on weekends as advertised) Every piece from the top of the pallet to the bottom was perfect. Sod has been installed now for 12 days and looks better every day. I started thinking I would only do a section of the yard where I removed landscape stones, but now after seeing how it looks, I will be pulling up the old grass and replacing the rest of my yard with Hawaii Turfgrasss Zeon Zoysia. Their was not fully mature. After being installed for a week, NUT grass was started was starting to pop out of the grass. Sure I used pre-emergent herbecide. So I check the areas where the nut grass was growing, lift up the sod, the nut grass wasnt rooted in to the prep soil but in the sods itself that they delivered... Dont buy from this Sod farm or youll end up having a TURF NUT GRASS

I needed to establish a yard where there was none. I called every single sod farm on Oahu. I settled on Hawaiian Turfgrass mainly because of Sean and his level of professionalism. He was able to help me through the process start to finish. Not only did he help me figure out which sod I should lay down, but he also recommended a company that could help me design an irrigation system. Tons of help, would recommend Sean and his boys to anyone that asked!

Great company and I plan to definitely use them for my front yard! I checked a couple other sod companies but none of them had the customer service that Hawaiian Turfgrass offered. Sean and his guys were able to knock out the installation in one day and they even pressure washed the mud and dirt on the concrete next to the grass. The grass looks great and it was well worth the money. Big mahalos to Sean and his guys!

Sean was super helpful in working with us to plan and get started and the new grass in both our front and back yards looks great. The sprinkler system they installed is great too. No more watering by hose!

Sean made a very good first impression and lived up to it until the project was completed. He was courteous, knowledgeable and willing to work within our time constraints. In addition, he was on time for visits to the house, and answered emails in a timely manner. The project was completed perfectly on schedule. The only glitch in the entire process (broken irrigation pipes-part of our sprinkler system) was quickly fixed to our satisfaction, thanks to Ben (the foreman of our project-who clearly knew about irrigation systems). After viewing their website, I decided on Hawaiian Turfgrass. A dark green grass, durable, with relatively low maintenance requirements was what I wanted . . . . Sean suggested TifGrand. It was extremely difficult work, but I sodded the TifGrand myself. The results . . . . a thick, gorgeous, dark green lawn! Wow, so happy! But, I still have my back lawn to sod. Cant take it.....hard work . . . . .not young anymore! Ill have Sean and his gang sod it for me!
