SavATree came out for a tree assessment for a couple large trees in my backyard that are developing some issues. They were quick to respond and sent someone out fast to take a look as one of the trees is developing a crack. Benjamin D., the arborist who responded to our home seemed very knowledgeable and recommended the best course of action in our situation. He was also courteous and answered any questions we had. Highly recommended!

It is rare that a company shows up when they say they will to provide an estimate. Ben, from SavATree did so, and was polite, friendly, professional, and in no hurry to move on to the next estimate. I then had the proposal within minutes, which was clear and concise. An added bonus, Ben did not try and push their other services on me. With that said, in retrospect, I will consider their offerings aside pruning and tree work. They have an online portal, which simplifies doing business with them. Very well done. The field crew showed up when Ben said they would. They too were polite, clean, professional, friendly, knowledgeable, etc. The entire experience, from start to finish, was first rate. And along the way, I had two or three questions that were answered in minutes, not hours, days, or weeks.

SavATree did an excellent job removing several dead trees, pruning a couple and strengthening our large sugar maple. The crew was professional, pleasant and left the yard cleaner than when they arrived. We were very pleased.

We just moved into a home in Beverly and have a lot with some beautiful and very old trees. The previous owners had used SavATree to take good care of these trees. Today John Duffy and his crew, Kevin and Ivan came to trim some of the trees and remove a dead one. They were very knowledgeable, professional, thorough and a pleasure to work with. We look forward to working with them to maintain this property which had been lovingly maintained for over 50 years by the previous owners.

I called SavATree to cut back some some branches that were hanging by/over the house. Collin and Ivan were timely, professional, and eager to make sure we were on the same page. They made decisions not just for the wellbeing of the houses but for the health of the trees, the surrounding vegetation, and larger ecosystem. They left the site clean, and me happy. Easy 5 stars.

SaveATree did an excellent job for us. First, Laura visited and walked the property to assess the trees surrounding our home. She provided really great insights and suggestions for how and when to address issues with any of our trees. She recommended installing static cables in a couple of our twin-stem red oak trees to support the branches, instead of removing the tree. The tree work was scheduled promptly. Collin and Ivan worked quickly to install the cables. Before moving forward with the 2nd cable, they conferred with Laura about a couple of holes/cavities in one of the trees and the viability of the tree surviving longer term. Laura notified me and let me know that the tree may eventually need to come down, but that it may be good to wait since they discovered a wood duck nest in one of the cavities. We proceeded with the cabling and will keep an eye on the tree later in the year after nesting season. We appreciate the thoughtful recommendations from Laura, Collin and Ivan. Looking forward to working with them again.

Ben and the team did a fantastic job pruning, trimming deadwood, and otherwise cleaning up a bunch of trees and plantings that sorely needed attention. Theyre knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, with close attention paid to the long-term health of the trees. They were also respectful with regard to parking and accessibility issues with neighbors, which we appreciated. Well definitely be inviting them back soon.

Hired them to clear out a tree limb that fell over and to generally trim back the pines around our back yard. They were careful to minimize collateral damage and generally did a clean job of the tree trimming. I would have liked for them to trim the trees a bit further back, as some of the overhangs still look long and likely to snap in a couple of years, if we dont call them to trim them again.

SavATree is my go to for quality tree service. The staff are knowledgeable professionals who really care about their work. Most recently they removed a small problem tree and carefully pruned a white pine. The work was very well done, and the site was well cleaned up before the team left. I highly recommend Ben and his team if you are looking for quality work at a fair price.

My husband and I would like to commend our SavATree arborist, Kyle Roy for many things but especially for his very quick response to our call regarding a downed tree and damage to our property after a storm. We had called tree services for help but were basically ignored. After his overview and quick assessment of the problem and clearing our driveway, we were able to have access to our home. Savatree pruned and wrapped our row of Arborvitaes. Scheduling was efficient, the crew arrived on time. Our trees were pruned by Kevin with care and the rest of the crew did a great job cleaning up and wrapping our trees. Very pleased with the entire process.

SavATree removed 2 dead trees in the back of our property for us yesterday and trimmed some others. John Duffy was excellent at coordinating the team that came to do the work. He brought the lead man over a couple of weeks ago to discuss how best to approach the job at hand. My husband and I had concerns regarding potential damage to our lawn as the equipment required would need to travel over a large portion of it and the ground was waterlogged. Great care was taken to prevent any damage to our lawn. In fact, we wouldn t even have known that the job had been done had we not seen it for ourselves. Kudos to all involved. I highly recommend SavATree.

I had a contract for tree and lawn maintenance with SavATree for three years. The second year, I lost two mature trees to fungus they failed to treat. The third year, 1/2 of the lawn completely died, prompting me to terminate the contract. I spent several thousand dollars and had the worst lawn in the neighborhood. I received no assistance or offers to correct the situation, just terrible customer service.

I had an excellent experience working with Kyle and his team. I really appreciate how detailed and informative Kyle was on our initial walk-through. I could tell immediately how well he knew his stuff. I also liked that he called out areas to keep an eye on but that he didnt recommend pursuing at the moment, which made me feel like I wasnt being upsold on everything. The crew that came out was friendly and did a great job and were able to also accommodate an additional request I had forgotten about. Will definitely be recommending SavATree to our neighbors.

We have lived in MA for 27 years. For more than ten years, we have used SavATree for an ever increasing array of services: shrubs, trees, lawn... Having had experiences with large company alternatives for many years, SavATree is the best, in my opinion, from our results. They hire and develop smart people who know their field, listen, and actually care about clients and their results. This contrasts with the transactional nature of the larger companies where the person servicing you is not truly knowledgable about what they are doing. Every few years with SavATree, when someone who I was so impressed with got promoted, the next person through was equally as impressive. So they do great work and have a continuity of service. I wish other businesses would follow their simple formula of being good at what they do, finding and developing great talent that listens to clients and deliver results. I do not write reviews much at all, SavATree is the very best.

Savatree just completed a pruning of 4 mature trees on our property. It was a pleasant experience for getting two projects done with SavATree! With the complimentary appointment, Laura came to our yard and walked with us sharing lots of useful information: identifying tree species, answering questions about lawn care, etc. It was very helpful. After discussion, we decided to grind 10 tree stumps in the yard and install a cabling system for a leaned over peach tree. Both projects were done great! I am disappointed with the little amount of pruning that occurred. 2 years ago I had this company and they did a nice job. I had.a crew of 4 people and equipment here for almost 8 hours. This time, for the same job I had 2 people for a little less time and it was more expensive. Susan S

We highly recommend Sav-A-Tree. If we could have given 10 stars we would have. We needed some trees removed and Laura walked us through the process, actually advising us to remove 2 fewer trees than we had anticipated needing to remove. The job was scheduled promptly and the crew that came to do the work were pleasant and very professional. There was little trace theyd been there when the work was done. We still going to remove those two trees and will call Sav-A-Tree when we do.

After my third season with SavATree, I continue to have many trees dying and my lawn looks terrible. Very disappointing. Lots of excuses; soil too wet, too dry, desease, winter too cold, summer too hot, etc. Stick to cutting trees down and change the name of your company.

Cheap and good service

As a residential architect for over 40 years, Ive dealt with tree services on many occasions primarily in the clearing of sites for construction. Many of those companies are very competent, but their focus is generally on taking trees down and getting them out of the way. When it came to dealing with some existing trees on my own property, I went looking for people who were more focused on keeping trees alive and healthy, and I was very pleased to encounter SavATree. They have done two jobs for me in the last couple of years, first trimming and cabling a two-trunk cedar that was threatening the house and later pruning and evaluating a venerable sugar maple that overhangs the back yard and our barn. In both cases, I was impressed with the professionalism of everyone who showed up, with their concern for the health of the trees, and for their willingness to listen to our ideas before firing up the chain saws. I would not hesitate to call them again or to recommend them to friends or clients.

It was a very tricky job removing numerous dead and dying ash trees and a 100 ft dying maple leaning precipitously over the house. One of the ash trees was 3 1/2 feet in diameter at the base. Collin and his crew did an outstanding job taking down the trees and cleaning up an old hardwood forest with no damage to other trees or the forest floor. My arborist, Susan Hamilton developed an excellent plan, monitored progress and kept me updated. The end result was well worth the cost.

Ive been using SavATree in Middleton for lawn care services since the fall of 2019 when I purchased a new home. My initial consultation was with arborist Ben Dugdale. My lawn was completely overrun by weeds, and I knew it would require a lot of work to get it into good shape. Ben performed a thorough inspection of the lawn and soil and gave me his recommendation for treatment and services. He informed me that it did indeed require a lot of work and that I wouldnt see results overnight, but he was confident that if I stuck with the program, I would have a beautiful lawn in time. I decided to give it a shot, and a year later I went from having the worst lawn in the neighborhood to the best! I now have a lush, green, and weed-free lawn that is the envy of the neighborhood. My landscaper was so impressed by the transformation that he has been recommending SavATree to his clients. I am extremely impressed by Ben and his team and the overall customer service that I receive. I highly recommend SavATree for your lawn care needs!

We have used SavATree for several years now, starting with an inspection of our Hemlock Pines who were suffering from Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA). SavATree was quick to respond, come out and inspect and give us options with pricing on how to treat and save the tree. They have also, more recently, helped clean up several trees that had storm damage, so that they could heal quickly and more easily, giving life back to the trees. Ben Dugdale, also noticed a problem with our Red Oak which they fixed and made a world of difference. They pruned our overgrowth on side yard with precision and in the healthiest way I have ever seen it done. The team was amazing, professional and super kind to my kids who really wanted to keep some of the cool sticks from the tree and shrub work. They even set aside a few special ones for the kids. When we first moved into our house, we noticed our neighbors were the clear winners in the green grass and manicured tree game. After complimenting their lawn, they recommended SavATree. Ben Dugdale and team have brought my flowering pear and crab apple trees from scrawny and stressed to full and beautiful. Just this year, I asked them to do some pruning of trees on our property. After years of landscapers pruning with large electric pruners, it was amazing to see so much work done carefully by hand. Great work and a delight to deal with.

I have used SavATree now for many years, at different addresses, for different issues. This year I had them come to my home and prune and trim my badly neglected landscaping. They could not have done a better job. I could not have done a better job. The day they arrived (on time) Susan, the Arborist, led them around the yard. They asked me a few questions and then they were off to their work. When I looked out during the morning I was impressed to see either Collin, George, LeSean or Andrew standing back or walking around the plant they were working on, to ensure they shaped the plant perfectly. At one point I watched while my weeping Katsura was being shaped and trimmed and one would have thought they were carving Michelangelo. The time and thought that went into that tree was wonderful to watch. Needless to say I have recommended SavATree to many, many people and everyone is happy and impressed. One friend had put in over a million dollars worth of trees and began to have a issues with them. He called SavATree and John Duffy, Arborist, was over there before the week was out. SavATree did a remarkable job saving the trees and landscaping and my friend is now a fan forever. Well, do you get it? I cannot say enough about them. Try them and you will never use anyone else!

What a great team. We live in a very tight neighborhood in Marblehead and Ben and his team were experts trimming and removal of everything. Great attention to detail, safety of their workers and out property was a I high priority.

We cant say enough about Ben Dugdale and his Savatree Middleton crew! Weve been long-standing customers of theirs, always happy with Ben doing bi-annual tree audits on our property and getting the team in to do prudent and necessary cutting and pruning to ensure the health of the trees and safety for property and people. But the true test was when we got slammed by a giant Norway Maple during the noreaster on October 16th. And these guys really came through for us. The tree crashed squarely on the roof of our addition, crushing our gas stove pipe and bathroom stack pipe, denting our gutters, clipping the cedar fence, the our roof, etc. To say it was a tough extraction is to understate. But Ben, who came out to evaluate almost as soon as we called, and gave us a very reasonable estimate, sent out a crew of three with amazing Jeremy at the helm. Jeremy worked the bucket lift with jaw-dropping skill and ease. Hes also an adroit tree climber and tackled an adjoining tree to anchor its fallen brother so it wouldnt kick back and do more damage. He deftly maneuvered over the roof, in and around, down, up and under the felled tree, cutting it up with the precision of a skilled surgeon and removing the tree so that youd never, ever know it had been there. We are so grateful to Ben, Savatree Middleton and fearless Jeremy and his crew of two. Needless to say, we recommend them without reservation.

If you like companies that say they are coming but never show and never call then this company is for you!!! FOUR years in a row of no calls no shows. They truly don t care about their customers or value their time. You re just another number to them. It s my own fault for letting it go on for so long. I ve brought it to their attention but it falls on deaf ears. In my defense I thought they would get better. They make you feel like you re not a valued customer. Communication, communication, communication, all it takes is a simple phone call and you would be amazed at how understanding people are, but to stand them up, disrespectful!!!!

I had SavATree trim some very large branches from a big oak and clean up two apple trees. They did a great job and were very meticulous about clean up. The whole crew was pleasant and genuinely seemed to be enjoying work regardless of the rainy day. The head of the crew Ben was the main contact, he was responsive to email and phone call and very kind. He went through and explained both before and after. He was knowledgeable about how to properly trim a tree so it remained healthy which is what I wanted. Definitely recommend them and will be using them again in the future. -Damian

Ben and his crew sadly removed three very mature willows for us that had become a hazard. They returned several times to make sure the stumps were ground properly and thoroughly through weather-related delays. They were professional, polite and did amazing work on a difficult job. I highly recommend them.
