I was extremely pleased with the beautiful hardscaped patio Essential landscaping built! Michael Porter designed a beautiful plan that incorporated my trees and vegetation. Chilo was the head builder and he was meticulous in placing it all and it has held up perfectly after 4 years now! I would definitely call them again. They also rerouted ALL my house downspouts away from the house in a major project, which turned out to be top notch. They did a superb job and if you need drainage fixing, they are the company to call! I would use them again without hesitation if I need drainage work.

I have been a satisfied customer of both landscaping and irrigation for years. Their people are reliable, arrive on time, and customer friendly. A important thing to me is their people have been with Essential for as long as I have been a customer.

We have had excellent service when we have had sprinkler issues. When we have sprinkler mis-alignment EL&I comes to correct the problem within a day or two. Their installation has run well the last three seasons.

We wanted to have our deck removed with a paver patio installed with a fire pit, as well as a wall and some landscaping. Like so many people we wanted to complete the project during the first pandemic summer of 2020. Obviously, many, if not all, contractors were dealing with shortages of material and manpower. Porter from Essential Landscaping and Irrigation kept the lines of communication up through the whole process and instead of starting the project and stringing it out for weeks, he waited until they had the crew and materials and once they started completed the work in a matter of days. And what work they did! It has so added to our living experience and will be source of pleasure for years to come as we enjoy relaxing as well as entertaining in our new space.

Last winter I lost 11 boxwoods, some over 20 years old. Essential Landscaping helped me replace them with other more sustainable blooming plants, plus they replaced a burned out foundation light that was still under warranty. Their staff were polite and allowed me to make suggestions about where to plant the new plants, and they also helped me split and re-plant a number of hostas. It was a totally pleasant and affordable experience!

Essential Lawn and Landscaping did an excellent job on re designing our pond and waterfall, They are so professional and the design was just beautiful! Essential came out and fixed our sump drain, attaching it to the sewer pipeline in our neighborhood instead of the flooding out our backyard. They worked around our irrigation system and did a wonderful job. Would definitely recommend using them for any irrigation or landscaping project.

Essential Landscaping has been doing the snow removal at our commercial buildings. They have done a wonderful job. I highly recommend them!

I enjoy working with Essential Landscape. They always call before hand, in the spring they inspect the back flow preventer , send the info over to the city, they check all the heads and the zones out and set the timer up for the season. In the fall they shut off the water valve in the pit, flush all the lines out and disconnect the timer. I really appreciate what they do so that I don t have to worry about it all all.

Wonderful crew that takes care of our lawn are always polite and very careful of how they cut our grass and blow the trimmings from the walks. Everything looks so nice after they have been here.

So, I use them at my work. They have been cutting our grass the last several years. I would recommend them for your business or home. This one time they had an accident with a new employee, they were right on top of it. One of the supervisors came out and fixed it right away.

They were very professional and nice to work with. They also cleaned up after themselves. The drains help keep our back yard from flooding.

Landscaping - Essential Landscaping A++!! Porters Team was extremely professional, knowledgeable, attentive to our wants/needs and made sure to thoroughly clean up after each visit. After having our house destroyed in the 2019 Tornado in Trotwood, my wife and I knew we wanted to redo our landscaping. But we also knew we had no idea what to do. My wife kept seeing an Essential Landscaping truck parked at a worksite and decided to give them a call. Porter was sent to our home for an initial review of the property and to pick our brains on what we wanted in our landscape. After the rebuild, our lot was pretty much an open empty canvas. Except for the two very large damaged oak trees on the lot. Which Porter and Essential Landscaping crew had to bring down. Porter listened, directed and executed a remarkable landscape. From rock features, to stepping stones, to hidden downspouts, Etc. Porter is very passionate and took on the job as if it were his own. Porter also took the time to explain each and every plant that was planted in my yard. Porter took the time to instruct and assist me in setting up the sprinklers so that the lawn could be watered correctly. This is one investment that we will enjoy for many many years to come. Oh yeah, Porter is practically family now! He can definitely come to the cookout!

The technician carefully installed my irrigation system by testing each water zone enter act with others zones to make sure my whole lawn was irrigated equally across the lawn; no zone wasnt over soaked(standing water).

Amazing job on a yard that had neglected flower beds. Nothing had been done to this yard but mowing for two years. In one day, the Essential Lawn Care crew mowed, edged, cleaned out flower beds, trimmed bushes and mulched. I wish I had before and after pictures to share. Thank you, Essential Lawn Care!

Essential Landscaping installed downspout drains at my home to get rainwater away from our foundation. They did an excellent job. Reasonable price with attention to detail and cleaned up carefully. We haven t heard our sump motor run a single time since the work was finished. Mission accomplished!

I had a acre lot and moved to a third acre and then wanted to charge me the same as the acre, ( go figure ) Essential Landscaping was very competitive and I signed with them and couldn t be happier with the way they Perform . I highly recommend these guys ! They re very personable and will treat you right !

Unreliable.

Disappointed with the irrigation work installed by Essential Landscaping. The project took three attempts to complete the job to sub standard quality. The drain basins are of all different sizes. Communication for the estimate was okay, but the communication regarding the irrigation work was below acceptable. As a follow-up, Essential Landscaping immediately responded and have fixed the issues pertaining to our drainage project.

I was in desperate need of getting my yard mowed for the first time this spring. I called several companies and individuals, and left messages; only one called me back. Essential was the only company that actually answered the phone and promised to call back. He did. He came out the next day to assess the yard. He said hed have a proposal tomorrow and would be back to mow early next week. The next morning their office called and said theyd be able to mow today. They came and my yard looks great! I really appreciate their understanding of the situation and willingness to work me in their busy schedule. Pricing is reasonable, too. I look forward to future projects with them.

Essential Landscaping did a great job re-doing my paver walkway and courtyard last year. I continue to get compliments on it by everyone that sees it. Jaime and the team of guys were hard workers, did a quality job, and the re-design came out beautiful!

Very pleased with the installation of my sprinkler system and when needed, theyre there. The re-start operation this spring went very well.

These guys installed our irrigation system years ago and have tested and turned on the system every spring and purged the lines and shut it down in late fall every since. We havent had many issues with the system since we had it installed but theyve been very good and reasonably priced in handling what few issues we have had. Last year we had them redo our 20 year old landscape (out with a lot of old plants and shrubs and replaced with new) and build a new deck. We are pleased with the results of both as well as the professional manner in which their crew conducted themselves. We do have a couple of minor issues where deck boards were not well secured and have come loose but theyre standing behind their work and you cant ask more than that.

I called the office to schedule an appointment because we needed some maintence and sprinkler heads repaired and some extended. I ask how much it would cost to have them come out. I was advised that it was a service call of $65 for the first ten minutes to assess. If we were to have the work done it would be $79 for the first hour plus any cost of the parts to replace. I specifically ask if they were at the home an hour or less if I would be charged the $65 and the $79 for that hour. I was told NO that if I had the work completed it would be a charge of just the $79 plus parts. They came out and completed the work in less than an hour. The work was done great but guess what when I received the bill? I have both a $65, a $79 and parts charge. I called the office and spoke to both Dee and Rhonda who could have cared less that I was told one thing and billed another. I specifically ask this question when booking the appointment. Maybe I was advised incorrectly but they clearly just didnt care. I wouldnt recemmend this company and will not use them again. Dishonest.....

At first things went quite well. I had to get a plumber to adjust one of the fittings, but after that the system worked fine. In mid summer, the irrigation controller failed due to old age and they promptly repaired it. At that time, I mentioned to the technician that the meter should be left disconnected at the end of the summer and he assured me that was standard operating procedure for the company. When it came time to close down for the winter, the meter was left in placed. It took 2 phone calls to get someone to stop by and remove it. They came while I was walking the dog, cut a huge chunk of pipe from the system and left without any explanation. The repair cost more than $200, so I will not recommend them to anyone.
