The Doty Group was the only landscaping company we could get to call us back last summer. (2023) They did an incredible job with both planting and stonework and made sure we were happy with every detail! Their communication was top notch and they followed through on every level. We highly recommend them as an honest company who goes the distance for their clients.
I have used the Doty Group several times in the last few years to replace granite post within the community where I live. They are professional, pleasant, and courteous when dealing with the office or the on-site workers. The job is done in an expert manner and on the schedule they provided at the beginning of the process. I would recommend them without hesitation.
The work done on our house was impeccable from beginning to end! From start to finish, there was constant communication of what was going to happen the whole time work was being done. I even made a few changes in the plans and they were done immediately and without a problem. The workers were some of the nicest people you could meet. Always so nice and respectful. The job was completed beautifully and they cleaned every piece of trash and took away all the stuff that was removed before the work commenced. We plan on having further work done in the future and will use only them. We highly recommend Nate and the whole team at The Doty Group!
The Doty Group put in a retaining wall and walkway with lighting from my driveway to my front door last fall. The work was exquisite, the time frame was spot on and the result was exactly what I was looking for! Nate and his team at the Doty Group have consistently done excellent work on our yard - transitioning our "rough" lot into a beautiful property. They are able to propose, and then implement many great and unique ideas. They are very professional, and always very responsive. If something doesn't go as expected, they are back quickly to make it right.
The most unprofessional business I’ve ever worked with. I hired them to level, fill, hydroseed and extend my yard and install drainage. Shortly after doing so the whole corner of my yard completely caved in. And the drains they installed on the other end they completely buried preventing water from getting in and flooding my neighbor’s yard. And the hydroseed didn’t take despite my following their care instructions.Morgan insisted it was an act of god and left me hanging for weeks. I was forced to dig out the drains myself. When they finally did come back they didn’t fix things all at once and left me dealing with it for days on end before the corrections were made. They insisted the water behind my fence that contributed to the sink hole would no longer pool. However it still does as they neeeded to install a drain back there too. The hydroseed still hadn’t completely taken and my yard is all patches of dirt due to rocks they filled it with. I tried contacting them for 2 months without a response and finally contacted the BBB and all of a sudden less than 24 hrs they replied. They lied about the job and me saying I was difficult. I was nothing but polite to all employees. They said hyrdoseed takes 3 years which is also far from true. I asked for them to fix the water and reseed and they’ve refused stating they were paid. Yes, I paid them because they led me to believe the issues were resolved. Had I known the work would fail again I obviously wouldn’t. They also guaranteed their hydro seed via email and clearly that was a lie too. Stay clear.
Couldn’t recommend the Doty group enough. They came and build a new patio, sitting wall, walkway and landing. While added a new tree and granite mailbox post. Nate, Morgan, Tom, Ruben, Brian and Will were all excellent to work with. Love the finish product and how things look. Really appreciate it crew!

The did an amazing job with our walkway several years ago. Also, Larry does a great job with our sprinkler system. For years it did not work well and since he fixed it it runs like a charm. They do get very busy so call early.
I have called and left countless messages after sending pictures of my flower beds for a quote and still no quote after two months. Called P&L and they were out the next week with a quote. Highly disappointed and unprofessional.
Stop researching...seriously, stop. The Doty Group has all of the qualities you remember a local business having. Responsive, on time, fairly priced, polite, hard working, clean, and - remember this?- they appreciate your business! Sweet Jesus! Weve been fortunate enough to contract with The Doty Group for extensive fencing, planting, a beautiful new walkway, a granite mailbox post, and spring & fall clean up. Nate, Morgan and the entire Doty Group crew are outstanding! You arent going to find anyone better - stop making your spouse salty spending all evening emailing for quotes, give them a call - they are beyond worth it!!!
We hired the Doty Group to replace our broken down wooden deck and install a 450 sq foot paver patio, along with edging the outside of our house with cobblestones and river rock. After doing a ton of research on local companies and getting 4-5 quotes, we ultimately decided on Doty because: 1) the reviews were great, 2) the estimate was fair and transparent, 3) Nate was absolutely great at helping us settle our design, and letting us know what would work, drive cost up/down, etc... without ever making you feel like you were being pressured. He understood the look and layout of the property, and didnt try to upsell anything or drive some insane feature that wouldnt make sense for the current aesthetic. They started right when they said they would, and even when we were making changes to the materials at the last minute, Nate and his wife were awesome at helping us find what we were looking for (I think she called the entire eastern seaboard). The crew was just as great btw. They showed up every single day and just cranked. We asked a million stupid questions and they gave a million informative, thoughtful answers (like the vital importance of the ground prep). They ripped out an old deck, worked around our well cap, graded out a huge slope, worked up against our house & sun room, worked up against our driveway, and when it was all said and done youd never know there was a huge project there a couple weeks ago if not for the hydro-seed and beautiful new patio. We couldnt be happier with the end result, and will absolutely be using Doty Group for our front yard in the near future. Pics to follow!

Nate and his crew did an amazing job on my front yard, offered suggestions, spent the time. Everyone was very professional and personable. I wont consider another landscaper for my lawn going forward.
Our first of many experiences, I am sure, with Nate Doty and his crew! We needed some work in the front beside the driveway to tame the unruly brush. We knew we wanted to add some landscaping trees to better define our property lines and we knew we wanted to clear land in our backyard so we as a family would have more to enjoy. But beyond that we didnt know much more and wouldnt until we could see what exactly we were looking at. We worked closely with Nate and his crew and openly communicated our ideas. There was NEVER any rush to just finish the job and move on. They made themselves available for whatever we wanted done. They were patient and extremely accommodating. We know how busy Nate is, but he never missed a text, an email or a call. There was never any wait time! He was always available to us even when not on site. Although his ENTIRE crew was professional, particular in their finish work, and excellent at what they were doing, we did have a fave! Mike was the machine guy. Running the equipment to clear the property. Its not flat or easy to get around. Nate said he was the best and he was the best!! A gentle giant, so friendly and personable! His love for equipment and the work he does, showed in his results! I will do whatever you want me to do. He spent time after work hours to go through his work with us and make note of further requests. I told him that this is not what generally excites me lol but I was SO excited to see what he had created. It wasnt just about machines and clearing land, he was creating a playground of sorts for our kids to enjoy and explore. We are so very happy with the results!! Wrapping things up with Nate and his crew was bittersweet, really! Great crew to have around and watch! Sad to see them go but no doubt we would call upon their services if needed before anyone else! Nate himself is such a nice guy! So upbeat, happy, personable, and goes above and beyond to please his customers! I made mention that doing business like this...they must be so busy! Even so, we always felt like the only clients he had! Pricing for materials and labor was very competitive! And better than any other initial quotes we had! Detailed billing made it very transparent and thorough. Never any guessing. And as our plans changed, Nate kept us updated with any billing changes. Never any surprises. By far, the best company/landscapers we have ever had the pleasure of working with!
Their drivers have road rage issues, so I dont see how you could trust them on your property if theyre this petty. The F350 #2 cut out in front of me at the last second out of a parking lot, forcing me to brake hard. When I was passing him in the center lane on 495 he drifted into my lane without looking, almost hitting me. He then followed me/tailgated me for miles to the point I actually called the Methuen Police Department. He then thought it was a good idea to yell obscenities out his window when I was making a turn as instructed by the police.
Over the past several years, we have used the Doty Group for three major landscaping projects: 1) installation of several landscaped retaining walls coupled with an underground drywell and drainage system; 2) removal of an in-ground pool and creation of a back yard in its place; 3) creation of a brick patio and walkway. All of these projects were completed to our complete satisfaction. Their pricing is competitive and the quality of workmanship unsurpassed. They stand behind their work and an after the job call to tweak something quickly and hassle free. Larry, Nate, and the entire crew are hardworking and a pleasure to be around. Highly recommended.

I had an incredible experience with The Doty Group. I recently had a large project completed and I couldnt be happier with how things came out. The crew was helpful, professional, and hard workers. My project included stripping and demoing my front yard, filling and extending my back yard, installing irrigation, building an amazing field stone retaining wall, paver walkway, beds and planting, and topping it off with exterior lighting.
