Calls at 9:00pm to try and sell service. Ridiculous. Canceled service 2 years ago when kids playhouse was filled with pesticide pellets.

I have a large and irregular shaped property with a lot of landscaping, trees and 2 driveways. The knowledgeable True Green Tech, Mr. JONATHON CURRY, always works extra hard to ensure thorough coverage. He is always professional and friendly. Even though Mr. Curry has serviced my property for going on year #2 he always checks in with me to address any issues or concerns. There are a lot of lawn maintenance companys always knocking on my door but myself an neighbors all are happy with True Green.

I appreciated the service David provided. He and I walk around my entire yard to discuss my concerns. He also pointed out some areas that need greater attention and has agreed to come back out to aerate my yard in those areas we discussed along with reseeding in a couple of the areas with seeds specifically for shaded areas. I look forwarded to the next couple of weeks and the difference the added attention will make. This was my first time having the granular feed treatment and emergent. I would never recommend this place. I prepaid for one year service. They came to weed kill and fertilize during a torrential rain downpour. I called to complain so they sent someone to redo the job. He says it s too soon to do it after he gets there. Why not come later instead of wasting both out time? Next there was an issue with doing the aeration and overseeding. They said they can t do it until a certain amount of time after the 1st application. I was fine with that, then they texted the next day saying they were coming that day. I called them again because they said that would burn up the lawn by doing it too soon. Finally, the icing on the cake was when someone called me from Trugreen and said the man who did the first application noticed insects on my landscaping. I felt it was a ploy to get more money because there s no way he looked at any landscaping in a torrential downpour. He never even got his machine. I asked for my money back. The problem with this company is that the left-hand does not know what the right hand is doing. I called him today because I still have not got the credit on my card I ask when they expect me to get it he did not know, he could not even tell me how much I was getting refunded and said the billing department would call me. About a half hour later, I get a call from the retention department, who had no idea about my refund either. I asked him to transfer me to the billing department. He said he would have them call me. I told him I was waiting all day for a call, he pushed the fact that he would have them call me.

Remarkably bad service. Our lawn has weeds we didn t have last year under a different service. They don t follow any kind of schedule. They don t do what they say they ll do. I strongly recommend against using this worthless service.

Worst company I have dealt with. Prepaid for a whole season, which turned out big mistake. They forget to come out all the time, reschedule applications without any explanation or any communication. I had to literally track each month if they treated our grass or not and sure enough, they wouldn t come out. Grass looked terrible all summer because they skipped 2 months not coming out and even after I complained, they would not come out. Save yourself money and stress and use another company,

After one year or less, the 80 percent weed lawn has turned into a beautiful green lawn with maybe 10 percent weeds. But still working on the weeds and soon they will be gone.Great Job to the tech that has turned this lawn around.

They do good work. They dont typically interrupt anybodys day in life. They go through and do their thing. And theyre on their way unless you have questions. They dont really interact, which is a plus for me. I think its the services done that. I need and good to go

I had my first mosquito treatment and I felt they could of done better. I called them and two days later they sent someone else to redo the treatment. This is my third year getting the mosquito service. I highly recommend it.

Long time customer, last few years wasn t getting the services I paid for . Last summer they totally killed my front lawn. My guess is they didn t even use the chemicals I paid for. It s really a trust game you play you have no way of knowing what they actually put down or don t put down. . Took them forever to attempt to repair my front lawn and it Still has bad spots. It s not the same grass. This year they killed my side lawn and back area . I pay extra fur grub treatments well as the weed and feed treatments. Do yourself a favor and find a different company or service to use. I think I m done with them. I ve given them every chance to make this right with me and you would think with all the problems I had they would do some follow ups , calls etc. this year nothing , nothing from them. Here I go again July and my lawn is dead. It s probably gonna need to be rare planted . What s Ironic is I have neighbors all around me whose lawns look beautiful and they don t use True Green . They can t blame it on the weather the rain etc . All I can say is, I m very disappointed in the service I paid for Hopefully someone will read this and not use their service again. Or end up in with a dead lawn .

Dishonest business practice. Was a customer for about 24 hours and received a phone call stating that my trees and shrubs showed sign of insect damage, but a technician never came out. They tried to upsell me on a product, with a discount of course, without ever even being to my property. This is different than a tech showing me signs of insect damage and trying to upsell it then. So TruGreen, you lost a customer within 48 hours for being dishonest. I was home all day yesterday and have cameras and I checked them to verify. Called in and a manager tried telling me it was a possibility they called me by mistake. No thanks.

Called to get my lawn cut and the representative told me TruGreen LAWNCARE doesn t do lawn care. If this thing had zero stars I would ve chose -1

The technician was very careful about covering the weed impacted portions of the lawn. He explained what he was doing and what to expect.

Absolutely horrible. Was told all the things I wanted to hear and even paid upfront over a $1000 for the year. When it came time for them to come out no one showed. Called to see why and they didnt even have us scheduled even tho they said 5-10 business days. When they finally did come out our whole yard front and back were to be done. They did the front and left. They had to send someone out a few days later to do the back. They only threw fertilizer down when I specifically told them the back would need other things done since its mostly sand and dirt. They didnt care. We were over it and just requested a refund cuz we just werent happy. In March is when we requested a refund. Here it is June and still nothing. They lie and say they try refunding us when my bank says no. Went to the Merrillville business talked to Jason and he said they mailed a check out and it will be here in 5-10 days. Still nothing. He gave me his direct number to call if it didnt come. Have called numerous times and no answer or a call back. When you call you get no answer. Its like they dont want to refund us. Would never recommend to anyone. They truly are a joke

Tech was very courtesy and helpful with questions we had hopefully we will see some change in the problem we have.

Usually gets most of my lawn. I found i need to do touchup near flower beds and edges of my property. First treatment of the season failed to green up my lawn or kill all my dandelions.

Just a waste of money. Called and asked for crabgrass and weed control. They just dump basic fertilizer. No extra steps or care taken. Called and complaint, next trip out they did same thing. Never even looked at yard. Just got on machine and drove around. In and out about 10 minutes.

I thought the salesman was very personable and he wasnt too pushy. He gave us time to think about the offer (my husband and I) and I was able to get back to him the next day. I wasnt home for the appointment, so I didnt see what the servicing looked like, but I did appreciate the notes/receipt that was left for me in my front door handle. I am a little concerned about using a weed and feed formula when we have a new lawn and we are trying to grow grass, but that concern comes from a friend who is a landscaper. I am trusting that the pre-emergent crab grass products that were put down wont hinder the growth of new grass. We also plan to reseed the next time we are supposed to get a good amount of rain. So far, everything has been great. I would definitely recommend the services. I already have spoken to neighbors about it since we are all in a similar situation.

Had our 1st application of 2024 about a week ago. Dandelions are gone & yard looks healthier overall.

After two weeks of nonstop calls and a salesman showing up we finally gave in and got the service, we were going to do the monthly billing. Our service was not to start until mid April , our sales rep came out 4days ago. This morning I pull out of our drive and notice they already came , no one notified me as promised I would receive a call or text the day before. I received no notification, I had already let the dog out not knowing they had been there yet so the dog was on the lawn chemicals. I called trugreen because 1they were not supposed to come out yet and start until mid April, and 2they never notified me, and 3 I was on a budget type plan so now the account I have set up for bills specifically would be over drafting plus $30 overdraft fee. Instead of the company cancelling the pending charge due to their own faults they offered to discount services for in the future, would have been fine and dandy if my trust in the company wasn t already compromised. They didn t offer to cover the overdraft fee. At this point I decided screw it I was cancelling my trust was already broken. I don t recommend this service to anyone, they don t stand by their word. Also the customer service dept I called didn t want to be on the phone and hung up on me.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I have been trying to get our service problems resolved since March/April. When I talk to the technician, it s always our fault. We cut the grass to short, we don t cut it short enough, we don t want enough, we water too much, etc etc. I continue to get the run around by everyone. However, if you call pretending to be a new customer, they will talk to you! Our yard looks worse after 10 applications. A supervisor named Jeff Worth promised to resolve the issue and agreed that this was unacceptable but when push came to shove, he stops responding to calls and texts. Brian Parchem visited us without notice, we weren t home. I try to email and call him back, no response. I cancel the service and promised a refund for the services this year. No refund. I call back, now they don t offer refunds. Guess what- a manager will have to call me back. But never will this is the same promise we get every time we make a phone call to them.

Service rep was ver polite but was leaving back yard and I had to remind him to also treat easement area ( s/b noted on service plan) in which he acknowledged he forgot. I also told him to manually shut gates because if he lets gates slam, lock tumblers can break. Service rep let the back gate slam and now I am waiting for lawn to dry so then I can check if lock still works. I will let Tru green know about the gate door lock status

Just terrible. My friend paid them over 700 dollars for full service for the year. By July, the yard was still full of every weed possible. I called on her behalf(because I feel they took advantage of her) asking for answers on why the yard was still full of weeds. Talk to them twice. They sent somebody out. Said they treated her lawn for weeds. The lady I talk to on the phone asked if she watered the lawn after their treatment. I said no. They said I had to for the treatments to work. On their receipt, it says, for best results, to water after. My neighbor uses Tru Green and she never watered the grass after. I used forever green and never watered the grass after. And both of us never had a problem. Im still waiting for a call back for some sort of credit for the horrendous job theyve done treating her yard. Be aware, theyll tell you you need the highest package and once they have your money, theyll ignore you long enough for you to give up. Maybe after seeing this, they MIGHT call back

Tru Green was at my home on Aug 28th for regular weed control service and fertilize. The next day I called the company in reference to large dead areas of grass in the front and rear of my home. There was fertilizer that I observed in the front yard. I had large areas of dead grass in the front and rear. I made several calls to the company and advised them. I was told a supervisor would be out on Sept 5th. Today on Sept 5th I was out front of my home waiting for a service rep knowing that he was down the street from me. This person drove past my house and never stopped. The app on my phone showed that he completed service. This really made me so mad. I made other calls to the company and I stated I wanted to see a supervisor. As of today still no phone calls. This individual that stated that he was at my home needs to be fired. I will continue to pursue this issue. I will no loner do business with this company. I did not want to give any star, but had to in order to submit review

Difficult to get an extra weed spray treatment (which is free) in between regular services. I was notified of my 1st treatment a day before through text. I wanted to be there to talk to the lawn tech. Their protocols are a bit different from a few years ago. But it s still a decent go to at THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON.

The weather has been so up and down. Very happy with Zach s performance. First time in years my lawn is perfectly done. Course it s time for fall and winter.

I used to fertilize my own lawn. Five years ago, I found out that it is actually LESS expensive to have TruGreen complete my services than to purchase the materials on my own. My service agent, Daniel B., is excellent. He is attentive, leaves comments on my receipt if anything needs to be cared for differently like watering more or invasive bugs in some of my plants. I now have less to worry about all while saving money.

Timely and efficient. They left a note with recommendations regarding my lawn and my weeds were already disappearing 24 hours later. HOWEVER, if you don t want a million phone calls trying to upsell you on everything, find a different company. So very annoying to get sales calls from a company you already use. Will not be renewing based solely on the excessive amount of calls I received last season.

Before they started treating my yard it was a deep green afterwards it was terrible

I paid for a full season in full via a one time payment for 2021. True green did fulfill their obligation but the yard did not benefit from any of the applications. At no time did a True green representative contact me after the original sales conversation to check on progress or possible continued service for 2022. At my surprise True green showed up at my house yesterday and completed an application with no consent from me or any communication prior than yesterday. I called a True green representative who canceled my service but I am still dumbfounded as to why and how any company would deliver a service without first contacting a customer for authorization. To make matters worse I look at my bank account and they automatically withdrew 182.00 from my account for the service. Hmmm, no call, no authorization, take money. Highly unprofessional and unethical business behavior!

I cancelled my services 2 Wks Prior Then confirmed 1 day Before because they kept emailing me for upcoming treatment, Due to financial issues I could not afford it they came out and did the service anyway and still billed me DISSATISFIED Customer

Had my first service today gut shows up and only does my front yard but sends me a report that my entire yard was completed. If i didnt have cameras i would have been scammed.

TruGreen is very efficient & theyre here and gone before you know it! Our guy is ready to go as soon as he pulls up. He goes thru our entire yard. Last year they took care of our mole problem! The mole tore up our yard! Once I asked if they could come back out because I still had alot of weeds. They sent someone out promptly and didnt charge me for it. I recommend TruGreen for your lawn!

I had True Green come out to help me with my yard (arigation and weeds). After noticing my weeds werent getting any better...I called in to complain. Was told I would receive a 25% discount on bill and someone would come out to retreat yard for free. I agreed and set the appointment up for a day I would be home. Today was the day they were suppose to do it. I watch the True Green truck pass my house and didnt think anything of it. Thinking they were goings to do someone elses yard first. Which was no problem til I received two text stating the driver was here and completed the job. Issue being Jeremy H never stopped and treated my yard. I purposely was out in the yard for I could speak with him. So when I called in to complain he never stopped I was told they would have to reschedule the service . It would take 2 to 3 days before it could happen. Im still responsible for the bill even though the services was not received because Im under contract with them. Spite the fact Jeremy lied and claimed he was here when he was not. Worse service I ever had!!

Quick response time

I used Truegreen for the first time this year. Disappointed would be an understatement. I called to let them know I still had several types of weeds and they agreed to come and SPOT treat. After 3 or 4 days the person came out and did so in about what seemed like just a minute. He missed quite a bit and though my lawn is a nice shade of green if there was no crab grass I don t think I would have much grass at all. This time I made the mistake of using their online service to complain and give my info , it s been over a week and no contact from the Merrillville IN. office. Word of mouth can be awfully damaging to a business. Hopefully it won t come to that. WHERE YOU AT TRUEGREEN?!?!

Absolutely horrible customer service. I had aeration and overseeding performed on my lawn and they damaged the gate on my fence to where it will not close properly. They also left my gate open after the service and my dogs got out. One of my dogs nearly got hit by a school bus. I reached out to customer service nearly a week ago and keep getting the run around. Every time I call I get told a supervisor will call me within 24-48 hours. It has been almost a week and no one has contacted me. When I call and ask for a supervisor they tell me there is no supervisor on duty. I cant get a hold of anyone at the merrillville office because everything I call I get forwarded to the 1-800 corporate number. How does a national company as big as this never have a supervisor on duty? ** After I posted this review I did receive a prompt response the next day and the situation was rectified. I was refunded for the service and a Truegreen Employee came to my house and repaired my gate. Thank you!

Great service employees. Lawn looks pretty good. Im happy. Grady is the shrub man. Daniel is the lawn guy. Both are excellent at their jobs.

A TruGreen technician inadvertently damaged my lawn. When I contacted TruGreen s Merrillville, IN office to voice my complaint, they sent a manager to inspect the damage. He was very apologetic and and arranged to not only repair the damage but also repair some areas of my lawn where I was having difficulty growing grass. This response was above and beyond what I expected. Top notch customer service!
