Stay away from the Mentor True Green. There driver is reckless, drives 40-50 mph in a 25 mph zone . He will try to run you over if you tell him to slow down followed by a tirade of profanity. I filed a complaint with the Mentor location and the result was I am being bombarded with telemarketers trying to sell me there service since my number is now in there database.

I tried your company to get rid of weeds to green it up and to thicken it up unfortunately the only thing that I can say was a improvement were the weeds you did get rid of those but my grass is no greener or thicker than any of my neighbors on the street also the chemicals you guys applied burned the grass so badly as if it needed that because it was already suffering from the summer heat and sun years ago I owned a home and had trugreen my grass was green thick like a piece of carpet this is my daughters house so I purchased the program for her but I have to say the company has lost its rating as far as I am concerned I even watch the workers when they are working its a quick hit and miss they are not knowledgeable about what kind of grass you have so I paid for a yearly treatment but after the 5th treatment my grass was burned so badly I opted out of my treatments and asked for a refund for the last two. Sorry to say the company is just not the same......

I would not do business with Trugreen if they offered to do my grass for free. First of all, I had a lady come to my door without an appointment, then stood in my driveway for over 10 minutes while my dogs barked like crazy. My husband ended up paying in full to have them do our grass for the whole summer. They were supposed to come on April 23 however nobody came. They never came. No truck in the driveway, no stick left in the lawn etc. I called and talked to Macayla five times at the office. I was that that they would be coming last Monday. No show once again. When I called shr said she would be upset too then told me they would be here this Monday and still a no-show. I was officially done. NEVER EVER USE TRU GREEN

I am beyond disappointed. There was an application made and then there are yellow dead grass spots all over our yard. I called since Saturday with NO response. I was told they were experiencing phone issues. However, I get that. But, I called Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and it is Thursday without anyone coming to our home or calling me. Horrible.

Update as of April 6th, Ryan the location manager reached out to me along with corporate. A sincere apology was made along with our address being put on a do not knock list. I appreciated the efforts of the business to get a hold of me and make the situation right. March 28th two TruGreen employees minus name tags came into my neighborhood going door to door. They chose to come on my front lawn and start looking through the grass. They did not bother coming to my front door to ask permission. They were trespassing number one. Number two, my husband confronted them and they offered a lame apology and still had to be told twice more to leave our property. I called to lodge a complaint and did not get a call back, EVER. No name tags, rude and unprofessional. I will never do business with these people and I advise you all to do the same. If possible, I would give them zero stars.

Don t call them. I called 2 years ago and have had to block over 15 #s I asked to be taken off the calling list still receiving calls.

I appreciate Rashid the taking the time to go around the perimeter of the whole entire yard for me. We are having a backyard party in May and I dont want our guests to get the eaten alive by mosquitoes!!

My technician did an excellent job spreading fertilizer. However, he couldnt do the spot treatment for weeds because he had no water on his truck. That is no fault of his. I have scheduled with true Green to come back and do the spot treatment..

Manager fired me for having ADD/ADHD didn t like the medication I had to manage it was discriminated and felt ashamed don t work here if you have any kind of disability they will treat you differently do your best to just keep it on the low especially how you manage it

Every service required a call back. I have cameras on My property and would watch the technicians live, perform the services. If I didn t have these cameras with video proof, I would ve just assumed that TruGreen was performing their duties as described in their pamphlets. What I watched was despicable. I watched them ignore entire areas of my lawn, not touching them at all. During an aeration and oversee service, I watched the guy riding the machine stop look around and decide not to do my entire backyard, continuing back around the front, and then proceeded to leave. I watched them ride the spreader without it spreading or spraying anything. I continually had weeds, and I had lines in my yard from where they actually did, fertilize and dead parts of my yard where they did not ride their lines so far apart that the fertilizer does not overlap. If I wasn t vigilant, they would ve taken advantage of me and charged me all the same. I shouldn t have to monitor and keep track of the services being performed. They lost my trust early on. Customer customer support was a joke, So much so that I had to call corporate to get anything done. I do not recommend.

Still have weeds. Got too close to the vegetable garden twice even after talking to them several times. Cancelled the service. Granulars from Scotts work much better.

The service is fine, Except when I asked Sean if he could spot treat in a few places, he said that he didn t have a proper nozzle to only target small spots because all he has is a nozzle that sprays approximately a 2 foot long line. He said that it would kill other plants around the weed. Wouldn t it be prudent for a technician to have a portable tank with a smaller nozzle to target those spots? I think so.

The person that applied my lawn applications was very professional and responsive to my questions. He did a great job.

TruGreen Tree and Shrub care is a good value because trees and shrubs could die from disease or insects if not controlled. The cost of replacement of plants makes the service a good value. The technician is very professional.

We have treated our 2 acre yard ourselves for many years with somewhat satisfactory results, in most places. But this spring we decided to try TruGreen Lawn Care (Mentor) and arranged for treatment for spring through fall, one payment. The yard has never looked this good. We could not be happier. We get compliments all the time from people that visit. At the first treatment, the TruGreen Technician took a good look at the whole place and discovered what was needed. Some areas needed treatment different than other areas to address what was seen. Improvement showed very soon after and more improvement with each treatment. This sort of evaluation and treatment adjustment occurs at every visit. Technician James B. has done all the grass treatments with a very high degree of attention, thoroughness, knowledge, helpful customer service. He is very generous with his time and knowledge. He always invites us to call for addition, unscheduled application if we don t see the improvements that he expects and describes to us. Technician Scott F. Does an equally nice job with the insect and disease treatment of trees, shrubs, and bushes, which is part of the three season package. Thank you very much TruGreen, James, and Scott, Tony F. All I can say is. Don t do it!

I had a problem with hard to control weeds (ground ivy) in my back yard. The lawn technicians did a great job to greatly reduce these weeds. Each time the lawn was treated it got progressively better. My back yard will be weed free after a couple more treatments next season. The lawn technicians are very knowledgable about lawn care. I am very satisfied with TruGreen.

Scamming company. had service in 2020 and when Tru green called in spring of 2021 to ask if I wanted service I said NO! They came and did it anyway and charged my card. This is how the whole summer went on. I called every time. I finally called my credit card company and disputed the payments. Chase investigated and after Chase talked with Trugreen the credited my account and stated it was fraud/mistake. Trugreen has now turned me into collections! Also they claim the treated my lawn in Feb of 2022 and sent me a bill. I am in Cleveland ohio! We had a foot of snow most of the month. I want a Manager to call me and make this right!

I had gotten online and used their resources at the website to get a solid idea of what my needs and costs were. I ultimately decided to use another provider. They did call as a follow up. I told them I was using another provider. Now Im still receiving sales calls, only now theyre somehow masking their caller ID. Instead of TruGreen its coming up as Child and Family Services. Thats a bit over the top trying to get someone to pick up the phone.

TruGreen Lawn Care did not live up to my expectations. Our lawn still looks the same they have very bad customer service. We paid all of the money upfront we have one more application will never recommend this company to anyone. We were told they have been in business for forty years perhaps once upon a time this was a good company not any more.

Trouble with grubs and they were addressed

6:30 in the morning a 1998 Buick lesabre pulls up in front of our house and parks, on the wrong side of the street. A disheveled man gets out wearing Sesame Street pajama pants and walks to the trunk. He opens the trunk and proceeds to pour a store bought container of bug spray into a pump sprayer. Oh, this is our TruGreen guy for mosquito treatment. Sprays the bushes and leaves. This was our very first service. We were also deceived by a sales person, after clearly telling them the services we didn t want, he repeated the services back that we were getting, including the ones we didn t want, thinking he was just dumb, I clearly stated again the services we didn t want that he had us down for. Sure enough, we were billed for those services. Called and let the company know about this, they offered a percentage off the next few billing cycles and adjusted our service options. The next billing cycle we were again charged for services we didn t even get now, and the percentage off wasn t applied. We call to cancel at this point because our yard was really already in good shape, we thought TruGreen would push it to the point of perfection. We decided not to, they made another offerand actually gave us a refund. At some point a yard tech drove their machine to the back of our yard and purged all the chemicals out, they burned wheel tracks through our yard and destroyed the grass where the machine was purged. Months later that grass is still dead. Also after it was all said and done, $166 each, for six treatments, a huge patch of fungus started growing (in our near perfect grass before TruGreen) We never had fungus, never had grubs, just some creeping Charlie in a corner by our neighbor. Complete rip off and they ruined our yard.

We used them for 2 years and it got worse all the time. The technician almost always came and applied the service in the rain. The nail in the coffin was when they sprayed for grubs and bugs and killed our lawn. In trying to cancel, I got the runaround and ended up talking to local and India. Not a good experience. They were not interested in my concerns. Offered to have a technician to come examine the lawn a few times, but never followed through. I cannot recommend this service at any level.

They only answer the phone if you want new service..either you wait 2 hrs or never for a return call

I signed up for this seasonal weeding and feeding service because I thought it would be good for my lawn. I was told I would receive an email to schedule a time for my services, instead someone showed up randomly (not too big if a deal). I only learned that my lawn had already been serviced after seeing an email from trugreen. I reviewed my outdoor cameras only to learn that the service I received was literally A man exiting a trugreen van sticking a sign on my lawn and posting a notice on my door before driving off. That is what I paid $500 for! I sent the video to corporate and I also informed the local office of what their employee had done. Naturally I feel that based on my experience this company and or its employees have an integrity issue.

I recently canceled my service with TruGreen. Unbelievable terrible service terrible job on my lawn. I ve already had two applications for spring and my lawn is nothing but dandelions! I m going to take a picture and post it for everyone to see. I think I m entitled to a refund for whatever they put on my lawn or didn t put on the lawn. What a joke

Try to get customer service on phone near impossible, weeds uncontrollable since the came out ,1 treatment later ,now they are starting every 2 weeks to try to get control hope it works prepaid for season, undecided if would recommend

I signed up for a pay as you go service in the beginning of May, the very next day, they charged me a full year of service. I called them and was bounced around to multiple people and eventually was told someone would call me be back in 24-48 hours. They didnt even provide me any services and I was already out $575 dollars. I contacted my bank to reverse the charges immediately. When I finally talked to a manager she apologized and assured me the money would be back in my account in 5-7 business days and said someone would come out for service a few days later. I called back five days later to see if the refund was in process and someone else said the refund was just processed that day. It took over 2 weeks for me to get my money back. I cancelled my services with them in Mid-May and eventually did get my refund excluding our bug repellent application. Fast forward to June 28th, imagine my shock when someone from TruGreen came to my house, serviced my lawn, and charged my card again. I tried calling them for the last few days to no avail, It seems like the customer service people just transfer you to anyone. I was given the number to the local TruGreen store in my area and was told to speak with them. I called the number and spoke to someone and when I asked to confirm their location, it was a different city s store. I am still waiting for someone to call me back after they came to my house without my consent, sprayed the application, and charged my card that was confirmed as a cancelled account. I would never recommend this company to anyone and I encourage you all to look elsewhere for lawn services. This truly has been such unnecessary stress and genuinely the worst customer experience of my life. UPDATE*** This response is a joke, I called and told customer service to have a manager call me back almost 2 weeks ago and no one ever called me back. My account was cancelled yet you guys still came to my house, serviced my lawn, and charged my card on the account that was supposedly cancelled.

Destroyed my yard. Called multiple times with no response from someone that could help solve my issues. Customer service is some of the worst I ve seen.

TruGreen started out very good, however in the last year they have gone seriously downhill to the point that I cancelled yesterday. I, like some other reviewers, paid all my money upfront for the year of service, aeration, and overseeing. They haven t touched my lawn in months - since June - and my account shows that I still have 3 services left this year, as well as aeration and overseeing that I paid several hundred dollars for. It s now mid October and TruGreen has cancelled 4 services on me that they said they would complete. They have pushed my Services back from September to October. When I asked why they cancelled on my the Customer Service guy blamed it on employee call offs. I m sorry but 4 call offs on me for a service I paid you hundreds for is unacceptable. When are they planning to overseed - when there is snow on the ground? TruGreen - hope I get a refund but I doubt it.

No call... no show... $284 later.... will not respond. Said they would be out between 4-5 its now 720 and they wont answer the phone. This was supposed to be my first interaction with them. I will be cancelling the service and going elsewhere

I ve never had a problem with Trugreen in the past, but that changed when I moved to Cleveland. They have literally killed my lawn, I get disgusted every time I look at my grass. Do not waste your money with Truegreen around the Cleveland area, because they do not know what they are doing; especially to beautify someone s lawn.

Nothing but disappointment. Been with TruGreen for 2 years and the only result is a lawn full of weeds and a lot of wasted investment. Last year they killed hundreds of dollars of baby grass I planted in areas, while failing to protect my yard from weeds. Last fall I spent hours digging up crabgrass and laid new top soil. This year they again killed areas of new grass, while failing to protect against weeds. I have 3x as much crabgrass as last year... Im to the point now I cannot enjoy my yard and Im serious consideration bulldozing and starting over. All my efforts over the past 3 years to grow a beautiful, green, and thick yard has been destroyed by TruGreen. With countless hours and dollars invested in my yard, I have a burned out, thin, crabgrass paradise... Update (9/2): Rather call and discuss my issues, TruGreen schedules a random service without any correspondence. After calling to inquire, I found it was the same service they previous did the prior 2 months without results. With that knowledge I cancelled that application and terminated all future service. Im over the lackluster product, no results, and mediocre customer service from parts of the company. The only positive of TruGreen has been John H. with the Mentor location. Hes been very responsive and helpful, but the product failed him.

This company serviced my neighbors yard, but tech decided to use my obviously newly seeded yard to drag his hose and footprints in it. Plus it was soaked from all the rain. Not rocket science. Called company to complain, never called back. Would not recommend this company since they don t care about people.

Couldnt have had a worse experience. After using them for years, the lawn continued to look worse. Last year the lawn was mostly burned out (I have pictures). After repeated calls to have a manager come out and promises to, he never showed up. They just dont care. No customer service.

Being a new customer and only having 2 applications so far I noticed a big difference in my yard its greener the weeds are crowding out with the grass growing thicker. Cant wait to see how it progresses.

I am changing my Rating from a 1 to a 5 star. After being greatly Disappointed with them someone called me, apologized, and asked to give them one more chance to help fix my lawn. I accepted and all their technicians were very courteous and did a professional job in repairing my lawn over three months. I was very happy. I sold my Mentor home shortly afterwards.

I originally called them about 2 months ago to inquire about service but decided I was not interested. I have kindly told them repeatedly that I am not interested in their services and to no longer call me. They continue to call me even after I ve warned them that I m on the DNC list and that I use my phone for business. The guy that called me today had the audacity to continue the conversation and said that I never answered his question about what I m doing with my lawn this year . I had to hang up on him. Stop harassing people who aren t interested and that are on the dnc list

At first service started out great. They called us, we got our dogs situated and service was the day they claimed it to be. They were supposed to aerate and oversee our yard in May. May 14th they told us they couldnt do it and to mark our sprinklers. We did and they never came back. I called a little over a week later and they said someone would be out immediately. Two weeks went by. Called again last week and was told we were priority and someone would be out. Noone came. Called a couple days ago and we were told it was because the weather. Today we called and cancelled. This business was completely unprofessional. We paid all our money up front and feel that they ripped us off. I do not recommend this company to anyone.

I started my lawn service from Trugreen last October due to the fact I was getting grubs and needed experts to handle it. I was hopeful they could turn my lawn back to a greener, healthier lawn. I had also been noticing white clovers that weren t going away so I expressed my concern to Trugreen and they came back out for another application. It did not eliminate the clover. My last treatment was July 29th and the following day my lawn was burned out. I can say I wasn t pleased. I was told the operations manager ( Carmen )will need to come out to evaluate but I haven t heard a word. I never would expect a company who advertises they are the #1 lawn care provider in America would do this to my lawn. Needless to say, I am not a happy customer.

Still trying after a month for the GM to call me. They killed my neighbors flower bed and my lawn on over spray. Someone came out and surveyed but this was two months ago. My lawn is dead. My neighbors garden is dead. This company sucks. I canceled and wanted full refund. Had to dispute charge on my card before I got a partial refund. Thankfully I have Amex! You wind up talking to a call center and getting through to the mentor office can only be done through the call center. Like pulling teeth. Worst follow through and the appointment for the initial kept getting pushed to the right. Awful service. I want my tree replaced they killed and my lawn repaired because of over spraying. I also want them to replace my neighbors plants they killed because wind blew the poison into their area. Go with local landscaper. Mentor office in Cleveland Ohio does not hold to word nor does collate office. Service was in June and still not rectified. This week when I spoke to the call office was told GM would call by end of the week. Still no call. Ill call again Monday. What a sheer pain in the...

Wonderful company

Horrific customer service. They have a company take phone calls for them when you call and when I requested to have someone come by my house and provide recommendations I was told that would be a waste of time. I was also told my the company that takes calls for them that TruGreen generally wont call back in a timely fashion and to just sign up for services on the phone without seeing the lawn, shrubs, etc. The company they hired called me back three different times trying to get different people to convince to me to sign up on the spot and refused to schedule a time to have someone come to my house.

Brian Halpin serviced my lawn, which I appreciate. My loyalty to TruGreen is dependent in many respects on having him be the specialist who treats my lawn. We have an established relationship and I find him very dependable and informative when I have questions. Hes very knowledgeable and familiar with my lawn and problem areas. Other specialists have been adequate but not as good as Brian.

Mike, our technician is absolutely great. He really cares and our lawn shows it.

Normally were not home when they come. Today I was. They only did the front yard and never stepped foot in my backyard. No wonder its looks terrible this year. Called TruGreen as the guy pulled out of my driveway and they said hed come back. Its been hours and still no one has showed up to correct this wrong. Do not feel they can be trusted and will be canceling my services. I pay way to much for all the services to not be provided.

Each of my lawn and shrub specialists has always been friendly, courteous and professional. Their care for the needs of my lawn and shrubs has made a significant impact on my landscaping overall. The lawn specialist, Brian, has always worked cooperatively with the on going landscape crews that have been here over the last three years, as changes and improvements have been made. The results of both teams have been fabulous.

I love the services of TruGreen! I was concerned that they had missed my property for the fall weed and feed. I called the service number, and the polite lady scheduled a visit for the following week. My technician is knowledgeable and courteous. He did a thorough job with treating my lawn. The grass is greener than ever before. Thats very unusual at this time of year.

My lawn looks good.I notice a few weeds when I mow but I know the specialist will spot treat them.If he comes when I am home he is always friendly and knowledgeable.

Our specialist Tim Walters is always very friendly and professional every time that he comes. He is always willing to answer any questions if we have any. We are happy with the progress that our lawn is making.

Called Wednesday 9/7 about severe grub damage to my front lawn, despite having paid for grub treatment as part of my program. Nothing happened, so on Monday, 9/12, I called again and was promised by Customer Service that the manager from Mentor, OH, Chris Vanriter, would visit the next day, which would have been Tuesday, 9/13 to assess the damage and call me to let me know what the plan to eliminate the grubs and repair the lawn. No call as and as far as I know no visit took place. Guess TruGreens guarantee is somewhat meaningless.

The lawn looks better than when we were doing all the fertilizing and all the products Tru Green applies to our lawn.I always know when the specialist is coming and what they will doing. I am rarely home when they come to do the work. When I am home the specialist will tell me what they are doing and will give advice on how high the lawn should be when mowed.

I have used TruGreen at my former home so when I moved into my new home I decided to use them again. Could not have been a worse decision. The only thing they are really good at is upselling additional services. I can tell you never pay what they originally quote. First quote for lawn aeration was over $300, then I talked them down to $180 then I went out and found a local guy to do it (and a better job) for $75. As for them being good at fertilizing the yard forget it. 2 out of 4 applications this year were striped in the front yard. When I call to have the problem rectified they send someone out, they do nothing, tell me the branch manager will call (Chris), he never does and I continue to be frustrated and my lawn looks horrible. Bottom line, if you want to gain experience managing other people hire TruGreen. I am calling tomorrow to cancel and ask for a refund of my money. I could do a better job myself.

I have been with TG over 15 years...my lawn is awful this year, and I cannot get thru to anyone that cares. Our TG lawn technician agrees that it is terrible, but his only suggestion is to call the office and tell them you are quitting. Customer Service at the branch has taken a turn for the worse. I call them, asking for a supervisor or expert to come inspect the lawn, and they answer by saying well give you a free treatment next week. Goodbye Trugreen!
