Shoddy work and lazy crew. A month ago they spread out fill dirt on a property behind me and a portion of my property, then let it sit and some rocks washed out into my property. They finally came to finish the job, and left a ton of rocks, including any that were 2 inches away from them in the grass, and left the stream of rocks that came from their previous work. I watched 3 people tag team a pile of rocks literally about the size of my foot for an HOUR, raking it around, then putting one scoop in a wheel barrow, putting the wheel barrow away across the street, then returning to push around the same pile again, then going BACK for the wheel barrow to take another scoop away, they did this maybe 3 times. It took 3 people 1 hour to get that pile of rocks off of my property, and these photos show what it looked like after they finally finished that small task. I eventually went over and asked for the rake to do it myself and they insisted they’d fix it themselves .We’ll see.
We have a new build in Kenyon Creek in Massillon and we ALL have the worst yards I have ever seen! You could give my 8 year old the equipment and he could do a better job! There’s rocks everywhere (and they are HUGE), the grass doesn’t grow, the front plants were planted into the mulch and not even the ground so they all died. The grass seed is pure weeds. There was no top soil even laid down! I work from home and watched them it all it! We followed the watering instructions exactly how we were told for months. Even had tripods and timers. You can’t water rocks! You should be ashamed by the job you have done back in this neighborhood. Now I have to hire a different company to completely undo the mess you made, and re do it. This is $10,000 - $15,000! Please drive back in Kenyon Creek in Massillon and see for yourself! I’ll even give you a nice rock tour of my back “yard”. I even called the office and complained about the shrubs not being planted in our yard and I was laughed at and told “no way”. STAY FAR AWAY! I will update if they fix it, but I doubt they will!
Not impressed at all with this company. New build in Barberton and I feel like we all got bare minimum. Our lawn is patchy and was poorly installed. We diligently watered and tried to get it looking good but only so much can be done when it’s poor work to begin with. Our trees they planted looked half dead from day 1. We paid thousands of dollars for a new lawn and landscaping and I feel like we were completely ripped off. UPDATE!! On 7/26 I spoke with a project manager who told me that a bad batch of trees was planted and that ours were supposed to be replaced. I thanked him and awaited our new trees to be planted. It’s now SEPTEMBER 28th and no sign of Lamphears and our new trees. I called to get an update and the lady that answers the phones told me “unfortunately there’s nothing they can do”. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE along with terrible work. Beyond frustrated!!!!
We love Lamphear's!! Our development used to have a different landscaping company that was horrible. We dealt with them for years and thankfully the new board got rid of them. They went for bids and we were able to get Lamphear's. The crew is so nice and very respectful of the homeowners. The grass looks the best it has had in years! Everyone I have talked to has been pleased with the service!! Highly recommended!
Frustrated in the recent planting of grass at our house, a new build on barberton. After religiously watering you can see numbers of areas with poor growth and those areas are incredibly rocking/poorly prepared for the seeding as evidenced by photos. Was looking forward to using this company in the future but now second guessing that decision.
The efficiency of the work was amazing. They came onsite got the job done and cleaned up left. I wanted to thank them for their work, however before I could they were packed up and gone. I will definitely be using this company again next season.
I’ve been a customer of Lamphears for years and I’ve always been very pleased with their work. The crews are easy to work with and Dominic does great design work. This year they installed a Mediterranean style garden around our pool and it’s growing in beautifully. The few times I’ve had issues they’ve been very responsive.
We had used Lamphears for years along with others in our neighborhood for pest and weed control and misc yard work. Unfortunately we noticed such a decline in service over the past few years but felt loyalty with this company because of our length of time being customers. We had a good working relationship with Shane & never had any issues over the years but when he left there was a shift in quality of work, we still had a few things to get done so we continued with Lamphears & hoped it would be fine The jobs we needed addressed had to be redone multiple times with still no satisfaction. The last job which is pictured below was redone more than 2x and as you can see still is horrible. We believe they just put straw down and never any seed, there is way too much dirt for “birds” to have eaten the seed which is what they told me happened. Now realize this is after addressing this twice last year with dirt, seed & straw and the pictures shown just a week ago. They had to redo a swale between our house & neighbors and that took more than two times also and still no grass has grown there either. I had informed them last summer as how it was looking even after the 2nd seeding & again in the fall and again just a couple weeks ago,which now have been told they only honor 30 day warranty. Beyond over a thousand dollars we paid to them and we have dirt. The rudeness from the office to the managers is terrible & is even obvious in the replies to comments here on the review page. Sad to see such a good company from years ago be who they are today. Would love to have a refund so we can hire someone to do a job worthy of being paid for. If I could give a negative star I would have. Use this company if you want to pay a lot and have to have jobs done repeatedly with not being complete.

Called for pricing was told they would contact me they never did . Called them back thats when they told me they are not accepting new customers in Brunswick for snow removal?
Lamphears was great to work with! They were flexible with our rock deliveries thru the ups and downs of our project. Drivers were careful and friendly. Their material prices were very competitive. All around a great experience and will work with them again gladly.
Very unhappy with the service provided. Giving high quote for work that did not need to be done. They continually put grass clippings in my newly mulch beds. No customer service. Would not recommend this company!
This company put in the starter yard in my new construction ryan home. My backyard has a treeline that runs parallel to the townhomes on our side. This causes a lot of shade and excess moisture if you water the lawn too much. They also did not properly grade it, as part of the backyard needed more layers of dirt to prevent stagnant water. They never took this into consideration or warned me or anybody else of potential problems that could take place due to the lack of sunlight and excess water. Both I and my neighbors along this treeline now have bald patches galore and plenty of muddy spots and sunken footprints because this company gave the same generic advice of watering lawns they give for every area. Also, when they put down hay, they carelessly threw it into my AC compressor which could easily clog it up. Will end up having to pay another company to come in and fix the problems. I would never use this companys services when it comes to putting in a new lawn. So be farwarned, go with someone else who is willing to take all factors into consideration and give you the proper advice on how to maintain your specific yard.

The mulch is great quality, and it was the best value in Medina. They got it to me quickly and the driver was incredibly friendly and helpful. We chatted for a bit and he shared some info with me about how to best keep the mulch looking it s best.
Great job delivering the stone that I ordered. Driver was helpful in dropping it in a couple different places to help us out. Fair prices and the ladies in the office were helpful as well.
Lazy, rude, and unprofessional is how I would begin to describe the workers for this company. Unfortunately, our HOA selected them to service our community and they are absolutely awful in every way. We have had to file numerous complaints just to get them to mow behind our property, which we pay them to do. The workers are constantly playing on their phones and rude anytime you try and speak with them. We have a lot of children in our neighborhood and you can constantly hear them swearing as they are working on the lawns, with no regard to who might hear what they are saying. Overall, an embarrassment to the lawn and landscaping business, and proof that any gomer can make money attempting to cut grass these days.

Brandon & his crew were here bright & early, and finished our yard by 2:00 in the afternoon as promised. Brandon made sure that anything I wanted cleared out was cleared out & made a point to check with us to be sure they d gotten everything we wanted done. The place looked great when they finished the job. My husband and I are completely satisfied with their work. I intend to have them back for fall cleanup, too!
They do a great job if you can get on their list for snow removal. 3rd year in a row I missed out.
The woman that answered the phone (trish?) told me she was unable to give me a quote for snow removal because they were booked up. She was very rude!
I just want to say Thank you to the snow removal team that does the Giant Eagle parking lot in Brunswick! I m the receiver there and this is the first year I have not had to shovel or salt my area in the back! They do a great job and I m so grateful to all of them!!

I was surprised at the quick response time for the quote on new mulch. The quote was reasonable. I decided to also sign up for lawn care and maintenance in addition to the snow removal service that we already have and are happy with.
I ordered mulch delivered to my home. The driver took great care in dumping onto the blue tarp I left in my driveway. The mulch is excellent. Thanks

Amazing job on our mulch today! Our lawn is a muddy mess but Lamphear s came out with a quick and efficient team and made our yard look so much better. They touched up a few places they didn t have to and we really appreciate it.
Live in a community where they have repeatedly scalped and dug up community areas and at no time has fixed problems workers have caused. They continue to leave worksite unacceptable in appearance. The Owner when contacted was not professional. workers drive equipment on private property to get to an area faster and has done damage by doing this.

we built a new home and used Lamphear s for our lawn, irrigation and landscape install (15k job). Kevin was AWESOME. He was very knowledgeable, we loved the design he created, the pricing was great and we received great word of mouth about Corey the owner from my family members. we were willing to wait till the fall for our install because we wanted it to be done right and were confident Lamphear s would be the ones to do just that. Install dates came, day 1 the crew did an incredible job. We loved the beds they created, the current standing tree on the property was limbed up nicely, the front yard looked great. You could tell they used the rock hound and hand raked to near perfection. I don t know what happened day two, but it s almost like they did the side and rear in a hurry. there were multiple big sized rocks all throughout the grassy areas up against the house that I had to remove by hand. they even left behind a huge rock (approximately the size of a football) right in the grass area against the house. They threw seed and straw over and left it. The rear yard had gravel there from The concrete installation. The team just threw seed and straw on it. We contacted Kevin and he assured me that it should not have been left like that and they would take care of it. He kept true to his word and immediately resolved the issues. I always say it s not about the issues that determine a business, but instead it s how the issues are resolved Lamphear s is an honest company and they value customer satisfaction. Their reputation speaks for itself. We highly recommend using them for all your landscape and irrigation needs.
Our HOA has used Lamphear the last few years and we are happy with their service and would recommend. Would especially like to commend them on their quick response to any issues that do come up. Their people are professional and great to work with.

Two days post fertilization and weed control and the weeds are dying. My neighbors have used them for full yard installs and they all look great! Their treatment programs are priced more than fair.
My lawn has never been so lush. Even my neighbors are asking me what I do. I moved in two years ago, and all the neighbors who are original builders tell me the lawn has never looked better. Thanks to Lamphears!
Let me preface this with a little history. I called Lamphears early this year to get a quote for some lawn work. I ended up going with a different company, which I was not completely satisfied with, but thats irrelevant. I called Lampears again a couple weeks ago to try again, and get a quote for the next part of my lawn. I told whoever I spoke to that it would be for next year likely in the fall. I received a call back today and the guy told me that just the backyard was not enough for them to come out, and I clarified saying that its more than just the backyard. Its the backyard, up both sides of the house, and part of the front. I was also looking to get a quote on some other landscaping. Probably about 75% of a 2/3 of an acre lot. After all of that explanation, they guy goes Didnt we quote you earlier this year for some work and you didnt call us back?, and I said yeah I had some other quotes and went a different direction at the time. His response was Nah, Im going to pass.... Seeing as he apparently took it personally that I didnt end up going with them earlier, I expressed a little bit of my displeasure and hung up. Fine whatever, I moved on already. This guy had the nerve to call me back a few minutes later to tell ME it was nothing personal after the whole nah, Im good thing. Then proceeds to try and cover that up by basically telling me that it was inconvenient for them to do some work for me since they didnt have any other jobs near me while disregarding the fact I was looking for work next year (though I m not sure if that was conveyed to him from the first person I spoke to).... They are less than 20 minutes away from me so I dont buy that in the slightest. And even if that were the case, you dont tell a potential customer that they are an inconvenience. What if I had gone with them earlier this year? Would they tell me now that I am an inconvenience? I suspect not. But also as a potential customer, your other jobs dont matter to me. You either service an area or you dont. Dont lead me on to believe that you will do work here by coming out to do a quote one time, and then say its inconvenient to drive less than 20 minutes the next. So, if I were to disregard the fact that they took it personally that I didnt go with them previously, they may do good work, but if you happen to be 20-ish minutes away, then look elsewhere. EDIT to respond to business: Whether it was personal or not, the way you or your employee handled the conversation was extremely unprofessional. You could have simply answered with we cant service that area at this time, but instead YOU brought up the previous quote and YOU answered with nah Im going to pass without any mention about why you were going to pass initially. I dont know how you expected me to interpret that, but thats the response I would expect to get if it was taken personally. You may say you base your business on professionalism, but that initial conversation begs to differ. Ill be leaving the review as is.
Lamphears has done a Magnificent job with my yard. I have tried many yard services and they are the best by far.
Installed a retaining wall, great work, professional. Cleaned up after the work and the work was quality. Also fair prices and accurate quote.

We have had this company as our landscaping company for quite a while here in Medina Township, and depending on who is on your crew will determine what they do and how well or poor they do are. Last Friday, the guy doing the trimming in our neighborhood butchered all of the lawns in our association. This was by far the worst job I have ever seen from them. Cory, the owner of Lamphear Lawn, came out and spoke to several of us and acknowledged the terrible work and promised to make things better going forward. Better communication is needed between the company and the association, which will be worked on by the board members. I feel confident that things will improve significantly going forward.
In July 2018 we had Lamphears dig out beds along both sides of our home and they laid stones where the beds were. They also re-did the large front bed and re-worked a couple more small beds. They stayed true to the estimate and I thought the price was very reasonable. They did exceptional work and totally exceeded my expectations. They also do our community s lawn maintenance and snow removal and do a great job at a great price.
Great result. We met with their rep and gave general request of what we wanted. Only mentioned the mixture of colors in the landscaping. Their proposal hit the mark and the results were even better. Highly recommend and will definitely use again!

Great company. Shane and his team came out to fix some drainage issues along the sides of our new driveway. He came out two different times to survey, and ensure we were both on the same page with the plan. My questions and phone calls were answered promptly, usually within a few hours. They were very careful on the new driveway, and took precautions not to damage it. Nothing but good things to say about these guys. Will use again in the future.

I had these guys come out and install a new landscape/lawn for us and we couldnt be happier. They were competitively priced, performed a fantastic install, and continue to work hard on monitoring and maintaining the new lawn. I was a bit concerned that 2 of the bushes they installed were dying, but they reassured me that theyd replace them the minute that they realized they werent coming back. This is a very well run local company that I plan on working with moving forward. Call and ask for Kory or Kevin...you wont regret it.
