We have used two different companies for lawn care and had a better experience with Brookside. They are knowledgeable and communicate well. We will continue another season with them next year.

I have used 3 or 4 different lawn services in the Cuyahoga Falls area and find Brookside Lawn Service superior to all others. Not only is the price more reasonable by a 40% reduction, my lawn looks better than ever!

We get compliments on our lawn. *June 2022 5 STAR again Its been 5 years of good service. We are super pleased with our lawn. Weve had several natural issues and they have addressed all of them. New clients need to realize they hardly ever answer the phone but they really do always get back to you. They have always been responsive, and lots of issues are nature not actually their service. We now have two of our close neighbors using them because we are happy with them Wrote 2021, gave 5 STAR. We have been using them for three or four years. We had some trouble or bumpy issues last year. But I think it was a matter of possibly someone dropped the ball. It took some time and some phone calls to finally get it fixed. ** I truly wish they had a email I could use, it would help the customers out greatly if we could send in pictures or diagram map layout of an issue. But they dont. But since the one problem everyone has been giving us A+ Service as usual. Today they actually came out and did a free check follow up. I am super impressed with their service!!

Starting spring of 2024, I use their service. My lawn is much better now, almost free of weed, grass is healthier.

After the summer drought, Brookside Lawn service came to fertilize our lawn. The technician, Romundo, was outstanding. He carefully inspected our lawn and administered grub treatment. In addition, since our property extends further than contracted, he inspected and fertilized the area as well. Such attention to detail and a willingness to go beyond is much appreciated!

Ive been using Brookside for the last few years and recently noticed a drop off in quality. I left a message at the beginning of the month as the weeds were getting so bad despite their treatments. I requested an additional treatment since previous ones were not working. 5 days later they fertilized my lawn but did nothing for the weeds. In the meantime, I cancelled service but was still waiting for them to remedy the weed treatment they didnt do successfully prior to August. I called four times with no response until today where they acted surprised I would want the weeds killed. They also claimed the weeds were treated on August 5 yet here it is the 19th and there is no change so of course the weeds werent treated. Disappointed in a company I worked with for years. I would recommend using a different company.

Brookside is a full service lawn company and was recently servicing our lawn with the attention to detail other companies have not provided. Thomas our tech went over the entire lawn and systematically applied the herbicides where needed. He didnt didnt skimp on time or attention. One of the BEST lawn services I have used.

This company provides quality products, good value and, most importantly , excellent service! Under Brookside Lawn Services care, our lawn has never looked so good! We took advantage of the early bird special, but later decided to cancel our backyard service (but kept the front yard service) due to concerns with our new puppy who puts everything in her mouth. The team at Brookside was incredibly understanding of our situation and handled the cancellation with ease, crediting our account promptly. It was such a relief to experience such excellent customer service without any hassles.

We are new to Brookside Lawn Service. We have had one treatment to our lawn so far and are pleased with the results. When calling the office as a new customer, the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. No high pressure up selling. Service was preformed in the time frame given, invoice along with informative materials left as indicated they would. So far we are very pleased.

Extremely scummy business practices. I used their services for a year without any noticeable change in my yard. I called at the end of 2022 to cancel my service. Instead of canceling my account, they put my account on hold as they call it. Come March of 2023, they come out to do the first treatment of the year on my yard. I was very confused because I had made them aware that Id like to cancel the service so I called them again and told them that Id like to cancel my account. I also paid the bill of the March 2023 treatment to avoid any hassle. Finally, I thought my account was canceled. NOPE. March of this year (2024) they came out again and treated my yard and bill me another $50. Their cancellation policy is as follows: you call to cancel > they put your account on hold > they send you letters about your upcoming treatment > if you dont call to cancel AGAIN, theyll continue your services again and bill you. Companies such as Amazon have been sued for similar deceptive practices in regards to their subscription models. I will be reporting Brookside to the proper authority for their deceptive practices as well.

Ive been a customer for years. For some reason my yard was attacked by grubs and then skunks. Brookside said it was due to amount of rain we received all summer. My neighbors yards are chemically treated by another company and their yards did not show signs of grub damage. My front yard was damaged by skunks as a result of the grubs and Brookside put restoration off last year until this year. They totally dropped the ball on me and then said since Im leaving they will not restore my yard! The damage was done while under their maintenance/watch and they refuse to do whats right.

If I could give zero stars I would! I will NEVER RECOMMEND this company for lawn care! And make sure to tell all family friends and coworkers as well :)

I used 4 fertilizing companies the last 20 years. Brookside by far is the best. They use quality fertilizers which makes my lawn lush and green.

Weve been using Brookside for 3 years and the customer service has been great. They are quick and attentive when we call. Last week I made a good call. The kids had left a bunch of things in the lawn and their techs moved it to the drive rather than covering it with chemicals and risking damage. It was greatly appreciated.

Grass isnt greener on the other side..or with other lawn services! We have had Brookside treat our lawn for three years now and our grass has consistently looked great. Brookside is responsive, helpful and knowledgeable.

They trespass other peoples front yards (the truck should have been on my neighbors side since they use their service, but they went next to our house and stepped on our front yard) and make loud noises (too loud for someone that is sleeping at the moment). Makes me angry.

We switched to Brookside Lawn Service two years ago after having problems with an another lawn care company. Our lawn had been destroyed by the previous company and their applications. After a lifetime of maintaining my own grass I decided to look for a lawn service. A few years ago I compared various companies and found for the price and the services Brookside Lawn Service was going to be my choice. This is my second year with them and my grass has never looked so good. Service is always to the customers satisfaction. And Im saving money over doing it myself. If your looking for a service consider Brookside you wont be disappointed.

Very professional my lawn looks great. They will answer your calls. Very polite when talking on the phone. I would recommend this service to anyone. I even have them doing my mother in-laws yard it has made a world of difference. I wish I would have taken before & after pictures to post.

Finally, a lawn service that shows up when they are supposed to; is affordable, and takes care of problems right away. I dont have to worry that they will do my complete lawn, and now skip over some areas. I did have a problem, but they responded right away to find out exactly what the problem was; and were out to fix it promptly. The staff is very knowledgeable when Ive called for information. All are very courteous as well. This is my second year with them; great job so far.

We have been Brookside customers for years and our lawn is thick and beautiful. We get lots of compliments and have even recommended Brookside to our neighbors who now use their service as well. We get the grub prevention every year. This year, unfortunately we had an infestation. We called Brookside and they told us that since we have their grub prevention, which is like an insurance policy, they will repair the places on our lawn that have been damaged by what we think is a raccoon who has been digging in places looking for those delicious creatures. Brookside sent two technicians out who spent a few hours reseeding our lawn and putting straw down to keep the seed in place. They also told us that if more repair is needed in the spring, they would be back to take care of it! Needless to say, we are very satisfied with how they have taken care of our issue. Great company!! Will continue to recommend them!

Brookside recommended a care plan for our yard and it looks amazing. They ve been very easy to work with and we re very pleased with their service.

The initial review (see below) was somewhat premature. After two years our yard was still sparse, weedy and showed no improvement. Even after requesting a soil sample which showed a PH reading of over 7 it was not adequately treated. I forgot to advise Brookside not to perform the grub treatment which they had performed the previous year because I never had a grab issue. I had always paid my bill and as you can see by my initial review I was happy. However, Brookside continues to bill me. I have spoken to several people and management about this. This past week I called after receiving another bill (with interest) and told the person that I would make a charitable donation to a charity of their choice if they would end this harassment. Today I received another bill. As it so happens my neighbor whom I recommended to Brookside had a similar issue. He is no longer a customer due to poor results. PCB Although we are mew. customers our initial contact was met with a professional when we called the office. The first service technician was very knowledgeable and professional. He answered all my concerns. Our lawn looks great and we plan on continuing with Brookside and taking advantage of their Fall aeration and over seeding.

We have no soliciting signs posted on our property, at the entrance to our driveway and by our door. We are working from home for a call center, and we need to keep the dog from going crazy when people enter our lawn/porch. The people this company has distributing fliers completely ignored our posted signs, and even slinked up to drop the flier on our door from around the back side of our house (as captured on Ring). They clearly cant follow rules or requests and have no respect for (potential) customers wishes, including putting folks livelihoods at risk. Completely unprofessional and absolutely unacceptable.

I cancelled my service on 2/9/2022 after not being happy with their services last year and a significant price increase this year. On 3/1/2022 they came out and treated my lawn anyways. As soon as I saw they did I called them. They told me they came out in error and saw in their system that they should not have. They offered to split the bill. This is ridiculous that they would ask a former customer to split the bill when it was an error on their part. I cancelled my services with them and have another lawn service for this year already. The customer service representative Brian said he did not have the authority to remove all charges. His tone significantly changed once I told him I m not paying the bill. I asked for the owner s or a managers name and he said he was not authorized to give that out. I asked for him to have one of them contact me and was also denied. Do yourself a favor & use another company to treat your lawn, because there are cheaper options out there. Their customer service is terrible and they will lie and say customers don t leave their company which is clearly a lie.

Last year I cancelled your service after 1 application. I have had no other contact with your company since then. I am aware of your policy to renew my service as a courtesy. But having cancelled your service after the first application, which I did by phone, there was no service to renew. I have received two invoices for the application you applied on March 16th of this year. I was not home when that was done. When I went to get my mail on March 17th I noticed the marker placed in the yard at the end of my driveway. I then retrieved the paperwork your employee put on my door. I called your company at 8:51 that morning and reached a recording, I left a message to call me back. I never received a call back. On March 29 I received an invoice in the mail for this application on the 16th of March. I called again and talked to a young woman who said she was a new employee and she put me on hold till I was cut off. I called right back. She said she would put notes in the file that I called. I advised her that she should place in the file that I would not be paying this bill. On April 5th, today I received another invoice for the March application. I tried calling your number twice today and got the answering machine, at 3:02 I left a message. I received no call back. Please be informed that I will not only not be paying this bill, I will be telling everyone I know of the deceptive tactics you employ to drum up business.

Hired brookside to so weed mitigation and fertilizing the issue came when they sid they wanted to dethacth, aerate and re fertilizing the yard I said they could go ahead and to that as their work previously was great I went to work and cam home and there was no evidence that any services had been completed and when I called their office no one wanted to take responsibility for the fact that nothing was done and now they want me to pay them for the services that were never completed

BEWARE OR THIS COMPANY...Im being billed for 1 service that they claim were preformed with no proof any work was done (6 months in the past last summer)...i paid 6 other invoices that i paid in full for the services the driver invoiced and left on my door on they day work was preformed...six months later they claimed step 5 was missed and applied on step seven but the driver only billed for step 7...now that story has changed and now im just being billed for something they want me to pay with no proof anything was ever done,,,I asked for a supervisor to call me and that has never happened after 5 requests...im not paying for thin air services nor will i be calling them again for any services they offer...they lost a very good customer over unprofessional business practices...now i wonder if i ever got what i did paid them for in the first place because i really have a big trust issue with these school kids ive been dealing with...i done with these ppl

I used this company for the first time last year because all my neighbors were using them. Payed for the season all in full. Had a few hiccups during the season but the corrected the issues. Perfect, great. Sold the house before the season started this year, got the yearly statement in the mail and I am like well I wont need them for the year so I never paid for the season. Well I guess somewhere hidden in the fine print on the invoices I had gotten last year that I just glanced over and seen I had a zero balance and tossed stated they roll over service. So they treated the yard at a house I no longer live at or own and asked me to pay for it. The gentleman on the phone stated not to be rude but you owe this. Um how about no. I paid for one season and thats all I needed. This should be in large print somewhere on the yearly billing or a phone call asking if services are still needed prior to the start of the season. I only found out because the new owners called Brookside and stated they never asked for the yard to be treated because the bill was left on the door of the residence. Thankfully the new owner did call Brookside because I would have accumulated bills for a house I dont own anymore. Needless to say I will not be using Brookside every again and hopefully the new owners pay for the service because I will not be. When moving, this is NOT the first thing on peoples minds. Brookside should reconsider this policy moving forward if they are wanting paid.

This is a true customer review. I Was Not Compensated for my endorsement. I feel awful for the bad reviews this company has recently received. After reading them, I noticed that those clients issues with this company stem from either laziness or illiteracy on the part of the clients. The flyer depicted in the attached photos, which is sent to every new client and left with every billing statement at the client s front door thereafter, clearly states that Brookside s services continue indefinitely unless they are told otherwise. It s sad that in this decade, some people don t bother to read or think before they post. On a more positive note, we couldn t be happier with the services Brookside provides. They are always quick to return phone calls, quick to get their work on our lawn finished, and it looks 90% better after only two of their basic treatments! I would never risk paying less with anyone else out of fear of lesser quality also. Thank You So Much! We anticipate staying with you for as long as we own our home.

We have been using Brookside for a few years now and we absolutely love their services. We never have had any issues and we prepay for the entire season. They are prompt and professional and our yard has never looked better! In fact, our HOA development is going to start using them as well for our common areas!

Brookside Lawn Service is an amazing company. My grass has never looked so green. I highly recommend them to anyone.

Work was going fine and they did a good job but we had to cancel. Financially it didn t fit for us. A year later they completed another application that we did not order and are trying to charge us for it. As we never ordered the work I called to dispute the invoice. This is when they (Brian) go into their we automatically renew script. Basically they just repeat this over and over in the hopes you pay. When I told them to stop mailing us invoices I was just hung up on. Many other reviews state the same thing. Don t use this company unless you want a headache down the road. Very unethical.

This company is Terrible. They did not bother to come on schedule most of the year last year (I get it no help) then I get a service at the end of October and AGAIN in mid December. I called to let them know I did not wish to pay for a second end of season application (My grass was already dormant). They did not care. I kindly let them know I was happy to use their service in 2022 but I would not pay for that December application. There response was we cant do that we will give you something free next year. I told them again I was not willing to pay for what I did not agree to. With only 5 applications no-one in Ohio would apply 2 after Mid October. They continue to send me a Bill with interest even though I have repeatedly ask to have the owner give me a call. Unbelievable.

Ive used Brookside for over 8 years on 2 different properties and Ive always been extremely pleased with their service, attention to my yard, quick response back to calls about any questions I have. Their Techs are always polite and knowledgeable. They are completely understanding when I need extra weed application during the stressful dry Summer period and they dont charge for it. When I stopped the service at one residence because I moved and put a new yard in they were very understanding and helpful about when I should resume service and I competitively shopped then when I did this move and I couldnt beat their price. Ive had nothing but great experience when calling n for help.

We replaced our previous lawn care service with Brookside this year. We chose them based on good reviews from others (and the look of their lawns). Brookside immediately took the time to thoroughly inspect our lawn, clearly explain and demonstrate our issues, and commence appropriate treatment. The attention provided was far greater than what we had received from our previous service. The workers were professional and courteous and answered every question. It was clear they knew their business. I held off awarding a fifth star only because this is our first year with them.

I started using Brookside last fall because I wasnt happy with TruGreen. I am very happy now with Brookside. The lawn looks better, and I can see on my security cameras they do a very thorough job.

We were using a popular lawn service for probably 25 years. We kept adding applications thinking that would help our lawn to look greener and thicker. We realised that no matter what we did to improve the lawn, we were not happy. We read up on other lawn care services. Based on Brookside Lawn Service reviews, we decided to make the move! WOW! WOW! Is all we can say. Our lawn has NEVER looked better. Thanks to their time, care, and generous applications, we could not be happier. And to think we were close to ripping up the old lawn and replanting a new lawn! Thanks Brookside!

Weve used Brookside for 3 years now and theyve always been incredible, but today, we were reminded again of just why we love their customer service! We have 2 dogs that routinely litter the yard with toys, and while we try our best to corral them, sometimes we miss them before our lawn treatment. We were surprised today when our lawn tech came back with a dog toy (an exact match!) To replace one he accidentally sprayed yesterday. We didnt even know it got sprayed and probably would have never known! It was a small but unexpected and incredibly kind gesture. Not only does our yard look great but our pups are spoiled!

Weve had Brookside for 3 years now and theres a remarkable difference in our lawn. Any calls to them with my concerns or questions have always been met with courtesy and prompt attention. Our lawn looks better than those on my street who use other lawn care companies. Refuse to answer the phone then finally respond at 8:45pm on a Tuesday to confirm my cancellation of services. Lack of fertilizer on lawn also dont blow driveway afterwards. The only thing there good at is up selling you after they to a shady spread of fertilizer.

We have been using Brookside for over 5 years now. Our lawn was always the fullest, greenest on the street. We are always active to call when we see any weeds coming up in the lawn and Brookside takes care of it immediately to re-apply anywhere as needed. Theyve been greatly responsive and super professional.

This is a small company compared to the other bigger ones but do a much better job. The people who work for them actually care about their work and are helpful - they even moved my dogs toys before laying down fertilizer. I used to have one of the big box companies (starts with W and ends in N) and they just didnt care it seemed. Always had to remind them that they forgot something. When i found a better price they werent willing to match it and then 6 months after i dumped them, they were willing to match the fees, but i told them you cant match the service! Brookside is a great company to work with if they service your area - dont hesistate!

Brookside does a great job. Jeremy and crew are very professional and clean up after applications. Our neighbors were so impressed with the lawn, they now use Brookside. We left a big name outfit because we werent satisfied with the condition of the lawn. Thankfully we found Brookside.

I was very happy with how comprehensibly they described their services and their basic ethos. We have 2 dogs, so it s important that whatever we put on the lawn doesn t harm them, and I was glad that s important to Brookside, too. Joe, the employee who provided the first treatment to our lawn, answered all of my questions and provided some billing information too, he was very polite and knowledgeable, and we appreciated that.

The lawn treatments are okay so far. Ive been underwhelmed with their administration. Billing process, response times, etc.

Love this service. If an issue with an application will immediately come out and fix issue, no charge. Have used other services in past but this is the best! Recommend them to all. Purchase their grass seed also.Have aerated our lawn which is essential in this weather.

Were in our first year of service, but noticed a huge difference after just the first application. We have had no trouble with weeds and the lawn greened up beautifully. The customer service is great and the prices are very reasonable. Plus, theres the benefit of supporting a small local business instead of a chain.

Brookside Lawn Service has spent more time on my lawn in ONE trip than my former lawn care company all last year! They actually apply the products. My grass is full, thick and green. They even did a sample of my soil to figure out why I had so much moss. One application later, no more moss! I have great follow up with their Customer Service Reps. I cant thank them enough. and most of all they are reasonably priced. You will not be sorry for trying this company

We have been using Brookside for 5+ years now and couldn t be happier! They are very knowledgeable, always prompt and very professional! I highly recommend them! Our lawn gets so many compliments.

Brookside destroyed our lawn and then denied any responsibility, blaming drought, insects, improper seeding. Improper seeding was my favorite since they were the ones who provided overseeding last season. DO NOT HIRE BROOKSIDE. Update: two years later and grass still will not grow on my lawn. Strongly urge you NOT TO HIRE BROOKSIDE LAWN SERVICES. This company has ZERO integrity, they refuse to admit thir error and make good on their guarantees.

Be careful, spilled too much fertilizer in a spot and burnt the lawn, when reported pretended they did not do fertilizing until the receipt was shown as proof. Not professional and they never fixed the burnt patch. I would not recommend.

Weeds are kept under control and Brookside always comes out to spray in between if any other weed problems occur. Brookside was also very responsive to get rid of Army moths.

I have been with Brookside for about 9 months now ( I think). My lawn was really patchy, dry, and just ugly in many spots before their services. Since, it has gone through ups and downs and currently is having some dead spots but Brookside has been great with communication and listening to my needs as a customer and the lawns needs. They are recommending some insecticide treatments and aeriation annually which could help some of the grub/dead spots and nutrients to the lawn. They even started coming to my home in the mornings so that I dont have to keep the dog pinned up in the house all day and night (since I have a fenced in back yard). Pricing is reasonable as well (way less than a Tru Green) and the people on the phone are always nice and the service techs Ive spoken with are always helpful and easy to speak to. I hope their recommendations work and my lawn is competitive with my neighbors next Spring! I gave them 4 stars for now because I am awaiting the lawn transformation still but at this point I am very pleased with their service. I would recommend them to many as my neighbors and I use them.

Fantastic company who kept our grass looking plush and green for the entire season. They are very reasonably priced and do excellent work.

My wife and I were performing due diligence in the hopes of hiring a lawn care provider for our new home in Dublin, OH. We spoke with several companies over the phone, and Brookside was one of the vendors we requested an estimate and formal quote for service. After our initial conversation, there was apparently confusion on their end about what we requested (again, an estimate and quote for service ONLY). They had taken my information and created a customer account, and proceeded to perform lawn maintenance on our property the following week. My wife was quick to stop them; informing them their was miscommunication and we were still evaluating options (as per my original conversation with Brookside). Kindly, they stopped service and mentioned someone within their office would reach out. We received a call from their office informing us there was a balance due for services rendered and we needed to pay that balance. We pushed back adamantly stating again, we never agreed to service, signed any agreement, or provided method of payment. Nothing! Our request now was to remove any outstanding balance until we had made an official decision as they mistakenly provided service we never agreed to in the first place. They insisted the miscommunication was on us and demanded payment. First, we asked for a copy of the phone conversation to prove their fault in the matter... They could not provide this and simply stated I remember our conversation and never make these mistakes. We then asked to speak with the owner/manager of the business, and were told we would receive a call back ASAP. Over the next several months, we never heard from anyone else aside from receiving letters in the mail demanding payment (payment that began to escalate with interest). Concurrently, we would call them almost every week asking to speak with someone in management, accounts, or a leadership role of any capacity. We got nothing and were told we would hear back soon. The first time we heard anything from a person of power was on December 13th, 2021 (almost 6 months after this dispute began). It was from Shannon McClain in their Credit Dept. She threatened legal action to collect the balance of $89.68. Again, this demand and threat came after we had made dozens of attempts to contact their leadership team and contest this charge. Once we finally were able to speak live and express our concern with their customer service and negligence in the matter, they could only offer a partial credit for a future soil treatment and apply it to the current outstanding balance. There are more granular details, but you get the gist. Overall, we will never recommend this vendor to anyone in the future. Their customer service is some of the worst Ive encountered. The worst part? We even told them that had they dropped the initial charge due to their mistake (you know, the right thing to do), we most likely would have signed a long-term contract with them.

Very disappointed with the service. After two years of Brookside, the lawn looks terrible, but what really upset me is that they cannot seem to follow a simple request. Last Fall I requested to meet with someone to discuss what can be done. Just call me on the cell phone and arrange a time because i was working. I can leave work and meet with them most any time. I got no calls, they just cam out while I was at work and left papers explaining that it was a dry, heat stressed lawn. Correction: I have large DEAD areas on the lawn!! So last week I again asked to meet with someone about the lawn before they automatically start with the standard applications so that we can discuss a plan of action to correct things. Now that I am retired I am more available, but I still have things going on with my life, so please call me on the cell phone so that we can arrange a time to meet. Saturday morning (3/7) while I am getting ready for an event (and running late), my daughter tells me there is someone walking around our lawn! No phone call, no knock, no doorbell (doorbell works just fine) just shows up, walks around and leaves a report! Same thing they did in the Fall! I simply dont understand this! How do you just show up to someones house and start walking around unannounced, particularly when the home owner has specifically stated that he wants to discuss things! Try a little simple courtesy! So aside from a horrible lawn, they cannot seen to follow instructions or simple etiquette. Needless to say I am highly frustrated with them! I came out and told the guy I have no time to talk right now and that I requested a call first! I will not have them work on the lawn again! 3/11/20 - Received a call from Melinda about the situation. As a result I think we arrived at an understanding and will have further dialog on this. The one big thing that I took away from the discussion with her is that they care. So we will work together on the lawn situation and see how it goes.

They also provide us with a lot of educational materials each service and share with us all the benefits of each application, which is far above what other services provide. Pathetic customer service. We called and cancelled our service and the next day they came out and fertilized our lawn. We called to tell them what happened and we were advised since we received the service we had to pay the bill. Natasha the service agent was terrible. They then told us we could pay half. We told them no we canceled it was their fault they need to eat the expense. They finally agreed. A few weeks later we get a full price bill with Late charges!! Natasha again blamed it on us! Pathetic will never use again!

We have used Brookside Lawn Services for over 14 years with great results. We tried a popular name company but the lawn never looked right. Their work is professional, their staff is always courteous and they stand behind their work.

I hired them many years back at my last home and this year I hired them again only to remember why I let them go. First this past spring heat wave the tech came out and burned my front lawn so badly I was so upset. I called to discuss and told the woman he should have known it was to hot for an application on the lawn. 2ND The technician NEVER went in my back lawn during another so called application. I saw him because I now work from home and he NEVER went in the back. I called and the woman said the manager would come to look. I get a bill and called again, then unannounced the manager shows up while I am working and I called so the woman instead of saying he was there to apply an application she just ok and hung up. She told me later in yet another conversation that I said no to an application, why would I because they were charging me UGH. I told her then to cancel the service and i would pay for the front. Well that did not happen and I got another bill. I called again and now i am told even after I canceled that they did come out to provide a service because the manager looked at the yard and said he could not see that it was treated! I had told them not to come and they did and they are billing me! I am so disgusted with this company and more so that I read another person had their lawn burned out also and that this company is not doing what they should be which is honoring their word. I also just received a final bill in which they added a interest charge of $2.00 so I went on line and paid them their final bill which was basically them stealing it and sat to write this. I do not fair well with people who and companies who cheat people.

Was a 10 year customer. In a spring application, they burned out parts of my lawn. They respond sorry, it will get better if you water it a bunch. I said, things happen, I get it but Im not paying for that application. They say, well give you an extra fall application. I said, no- you have to make me whole for the present and then we can talk about the future. Some manager says well put your account on hold until this gets resolved. Another month goes by and they finally agree. I say, ok, you made me whole, you can start up again. So now they say they will at a rate 33% higher. Lol. Plus there is a different person involved every time. Very tough company to deal with. Rather than ding the tech who burned my lawn and take it out of his pay, they give me the run around for two months then Jack my rates up. Update - now after Melinda Clutter ( who 3 times said: let be honest. I said please be honest the whole time) says oh yeah i see where we said we would put your account on hold and Ill look into this and talk to Jason and get back to you; we want your business - they never got back.

Good company to deal with, and service for our yard has been good

As with previous reviewers, I would give this company less than 1 star if I could. DO NOT USE THEM. DO NOT fall for the Family owned business that they spew to you. After this review I will make sure to report to the BBB as well. I have serviced my lawn since living at my address for 7 years, never with any problems. 2018 I decided that I would allow a professional to do it since the cost was similar and it would be less work for me, since I have two small children. First half of the year was great, then I noticed my backyard dying off. Brown grass, massive bare spots, crabgrass, weeds and more covered the back yard. Despite additional applications this problem was never corrected. Before 2018 I never had this problem. After complaining, Josh came out to do a soil sample and claimed the soil was fine. I informed Brookside I no longer wanted their service and I wasnt going to pay for the half sincere job they did on my back yard (Admittingly, the front yard was good). I was told multiple times on the phone that they value me as a customer, and they did everything that they could..but I still owned them $100. Thats when the calls truly started. This company has no shame calling you at 8:30 at night, which was an issue for me with my sleeping kids. They were warned never to call, yet persisted. Each time I answered they would have the same sob story, Family owned, we did everything we could. Free soil sample, remove the interest charges. What about taking care of your customer? What about listening to them and not calling late at night? What about when they request a manager call them you DONT send out a computer typed email that your owner couldnt even bother to personally sign. Its an embarrassment. For $100, you not only lost me as a client, but anyone else I know that uses your service. I will make sure my development knows what type of family owned company you are.

I am a new customer at Brookside. They have not yet started service, but I am already impressed with them, as I have had to deal with them a few times as I transition over. I had to call them after my previous lawn care firm (unbeknownst to me) initiated service for the coming year automatically with a very early fertilizer application. Fearing a double application by Brookside, which might burn my lawn out, I called them, and they got right back to me. I was impressed that the person handling the phone knew in detail about their program (and fertilizing) . After some questions about the application, their employee determined that they could continue the service that we had scheduled for the year, IF they put a hold on their application for four weeks, which they entered into their computer system. That was a relief and a nice change of pace to see that the person handling the phones knew enough about this to manage the problem directly.

This is my first year with Brookside Lawn Service and I am VERY happy with the results Ive gotten and the service theyve given me. Customer Service is courteous. The Technicians that came for the 1st application where very polite and told me what they where doing and what to expect and if I wasnt satisfied with the results I could call and they would come and reapply the application at no charge. Their prices are very reasonable.

We have been with Brookside for 3-4 years after a strong recommendation from my parents. Our lawn has never looked so good we are so proud! Their customer service and attention to our needs is unmatched.

DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!!!! Once they get your phone number they will never leave you alone! I called them once 6 years ago to get a quote on lawn service and they have not left me alone since. At first I did not mind as it was occasional and at the time I was always open to new service if the price was right. But 4 years ago I moved to a new home where my lawn service is taken care of for me, literally I dont have a lawn to take care of anymore. I have kindly asked them to take me off their phone list over the past 4 years and yet I am still receiving calls. Here is a kicker, they keep their number unlisted so you cannot tell who is calling nor block the number. So you pick up the phone call and its Brookside Lawn Service trying to sell me a service that I cannot use. So save yourself the hassle and dont provide your number to this spam calling service.

Had them for 4 seasons. I cancelled in writing 2019 season in February as their policy sates. They still came out and treated saying they left me message saying if I dont call they will treat, not sure why they would after confirming they received a written request to cancel. I guess they dont cancel accounts even if you follow their guidelines for cancellation process. They are claiming the tech came out and my wife told him not to treat because it was raining and he had her call the office to request no treatment that day and come out another day. My wife does not get involved nor does she know which service providers I use for outside lawn treatment, maintenance or bug control. I called them after I found out they did treat my lawn and asked why did you after I cancelled as I already have another service that is treating and already applied what they did the same week!!! I told them I am not paying for unauthorized services and they have to cancel the billed amount. They did not and now they have a collection agency calling me. They leave me no choice but to take legal action against them for trespassing and performing unauthorized services. I have referred them to few of my contacts before I am regretting that now as it seems they dont cancel accounts........

We have been using Brookside for over 5 years now, and we have been very pleased with their customer service and lawn care. Although this year, we had our regular care package that we normally get and we have weeds, nutsedge and tall fescue. Our lawn care man addressed the issues and said that a supervisor would be sent out to evaluate and address the problems. I tried a lawn service for the first time this year and now I regret doing it. My lawn was over fertilized and started to burn my grass in the whole yard. I called them and they told me it was due to the drought this year. Now I have to reseed everything..........my neighbors want to know the company so I requested a yard sign but never got one .....hmmmmm

I just had my first lawn treatment. The service provider, Collin, took time to explain to me the process, and the effect on the lawn. He covered a large lawn with detail to all corners and areas. Within days I saw an improvement in the quality of my lawn. I am looking forward to further treatments and a beautiful lawn.

Brookside has been our lawn care service for 5 years. Our previous lawn care company left us wondering why we were paying for the service given the poor condition of our lawn. Brookside was recommended by a friend and were grateful they did. Superior response, professional, and a genuine concern for our lawn at reasonable cost. We couldnt be happier!

Worst Lawn services we ever had! We tried Morton, BROOKSIDE( the WORST!) and now we have Scott s. The best so far! BROOKSIDE will not work with you if you re not satisfied. They are unprofessional when it comes to talking to them over the phone. AVOID THIS COMPANY you have been warned! Our grass was fried and uneven fertilizer was evident! Poor customer service. Very dissatisfied! Will NOT recommend them to anyone!

$50 every time they show up

Ive had two other lawn care companies service my yard over the past several years. Brookside is the first to provide the courteous, professional services and quality results that I want.

I started service with Brookside after I saw them consistently blow all the fertilizer off the sidewalk when theyve serviced others in the neighborhood. This may seem minor, but they are the only company Ive seen doing this and it shows a level of care that I appreciate. I like their informational brochures they hand out during each treatment. Yes, some of these sheets are them trying to up-sell. I dont understand why other reviewers think this is bad - its business.

Hopefully everyone reads this companies reviews before hiring them sure wish i would have . We paid our bill last year and made it very clear we no longer needed their services . We hired a new lawn company last fall which we are very satisfied with . To my disbelief Brookside Lawn Service shows up and fertilizes my lawn right after the company I hired fertilized my lawn and puts their flag right next to theirs . I called Brookside immediately and left a message demanding an explanation why they would show up and fertilize when they knew i terminated my service with them . Of course no return phone call . On May 07, 2018 i receive an invoice from them . I call immediately the next morning and leave another message demanding a call back or im contacting the Ohio Attorney General and of course finally got someones attention and they call back . I explain to her that I terminated my service with them last year and im not paying for this service that i didnt authorize . She then goes into sales mode and tries to tell me how beneficial this application is to my lawn I just cant believe how desperate this company is to obtain business . Save yourself a lot of aggravation and do not hire this company . They dont deserve the one star i had to give them !!!

Get what you pay for / poor customer service We went with brookside last year because their prices were low. The beginning of service wasnt bad. Not long after though, the applications became erratic. The technicians would come out without calling and fertilize over my kids toys. In the the fall, they fertilized over our lawn blanketed with leaves. They even left me invoices for applications that were never completed. I addressed these issues with their customer service each time. There is no management structure in place to follow up with customers. If you somehow manage to get the answering staff to have a manager call you, be sure to answer a RESTRICTED number because if you miss the call, it will be 2-3 days before they call again. There are nice people who work here, unfortunately the level of service you get is so hit or miss it is not worth it. Lawn care is simple. ~ Fertilize. Spray Weeds. Leave Invoice. ~ Somehow Brookside manages to screw that up time and time again. Im taking my business to a company with better customer service. Someone who stands behind their business and takes pride in the work they do on their customers properties. Brookside has shown me they dont care about what service you recieve. Their technicians were to busy to do a proper job. And their customer service/management couldnt be bothered to correct the issues time and time again.

This is the 2nd year Ive used Brookside and not the least bit disappointed. My lawn looks great and one of my neighbors even asked me if I was growing a golf course (it looks that good). They know what to put down and when to put it down throughout the spring, summer, & fall. Not one weed to be seen in spite of the weeds around me and the seeds blowing into the yard. No crabgrass either which is nice since it has haunted me in the past despite my best efforts. Weve also used the Bug Ban which seems to work very well... no ants or crawlies finding their way into the house. Their cost is comparable to other services Ive researched. I would recommend Brookside for a greener, healthier lawn.

This is my first year with Brookside Lawn Service and I am VERY happy with the results Ive gotten and the service theyve given me. My lawn looked terrible this spring and they put together a plan to get it back in shape and today my neighbors and passers by comment how great it looks. Their Customer Service girls are courteous and attentive and always call back in an acceptable amount of time. Perhaps the best thing I like about them is their free service call policy between applications. Most lawn companies offer it but on their terms (when its convenient for their schedule). But Brookside does what they promise and have come out within a day or two of my request (on 3 different occasions). They understand that customers just want the results and service they were promised. Keep it up Brookside!

Here is what she had to say: I have hired several lawn services during my 62 years as a homeowner. Brooksider s Team of qualified workers, along with their quality products, make me a satisfied customer. From the first phone conversation I had with their office staff, I was confident they were knowledgeable and would give me good advice on what services I could use to give me a lush, green, weed-free lawn. Also, their prices are reasonable and results are seen after the first application.

So glad we found this company! They do a great job fertilizing our lawn. They are reasonably priced and we have been very satisfied. We went with the plan that also includes aeration. We also added a Bug Ban plan. This is so helpful with keeping out the creepy crawlers. The technicians are very nice and knowledgeable and they leave a detailed account of what was applied to your lawn and what they noticed as far as condition of your lawn. Great services!

We were looking for an affordable, easy to work with, and worry free lawn care company to help us keep up with our lawn care needs (with work and two small children, there just never seems to be enough hours in the day to get everything done on your own!). Brookside was recommended to us by a family friend, and they have been wonderful to work with! We had an easy consultation over the phone to set everything up, theyve called each time before theyve come out (per our request so we can pick up toys in the yard), and their technicians have done a very thorough job with each application (even moving toys that had been snuck back out before they started working). Our lawn is looking better than ever and I am so happy to have found this local and family friendly company. Thank you Brookside!

I can not recommend this company. Their business practices are questionable in my experience. The fertilized my yard after I terminated my contract with them and then did it again the next month despite me contacting them after the first incident and also when I received their bill for these unauthorized services. I had cancelled my services with them in October and they agreed that my record showed my cancellation but they still did service the next year in April and May following my cancellation and then expected me to pay for it. They called and invoiced me numerous times for these services. They continue to call and stop by my home to discuss my service even after I have told them I would never do business with them again. Lawn fertilization was inconsistently applied and I had issues with weeds constantly. I have repeatedly had to contact them to request to be removed from their telemarketing list and I still receive calls and mailings.

This company sprayed my lawn(un-authorized) during the winter hours before a snow storm and tried to charge me for it. Needless to say the ground was still frozen and due to the snow fall, the application was washed away. Before I called to complain I called True Green and the Local garden center to see what they thought of the the untimely application and they both concurred that the application was about a month too early. I called to get my balance credited and they were extremely rude and refused to credit my account. Now, almost 7 months later they call me numerous times a day and threaten legal action. I urge everyone who had this treatment to get their money back, I am sure Brookside was having cash flow issues and decided to push the season and get some early billing. I am going to reach out to the State of Ohio Attorney Generals office and issue a complaint.

On behalf of Ron Ober: Happy with the service on most of the treatments. The 7th service left a little to be desired. However, Dustin will be making a 2nd trip to redo this last step. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. He wants his customers to be happy with his service.

I have used Brookside for about 4 years and they have done a lovely job. I am most impressed with the individual technicians that visit my home and are happy to discuss any and all questions I have. Once they came to apply a treatment when I had not finished clearing my leaves, and I asked if they could come back another day after I had prepared the lawn. They were happy to do so without extra charge. Thanks Brookside!

I have repeatedly tried to terminate service with Brookside for the 2019 season. They have left me seven voicemails since I first contacted them on December 5. They even sent me a letter within a week of cancelling stating that they would renew my service for next season. They continue to call even though I have asked them not to. The lawn treatments were inconsistently applied and I had issues with weeds all summer long. I was told it was just a bad year for weeds.

We have used Brookside Lawn Service for approximately 3 years. They have been outstanding! Our lawn is one of the best looking lawns on our street! We had one problem, but they were more than eager to fix it for us and went way above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with the end result! I cant say enough about this company......from the lawn techs, to the customer service, to the Manager........Thank You for all you have done for us and will continue to do for us in the Futher!!!!!!!!

Do not use Brookside! Its easy to get started but impossible to cancel. They become a total nuisance when you cancel the service. Ive received at least 10 phone calls since cancelling.

We have used Brookside since we moved to town in August of 2016. Their rates are reasonable, they are quick to respond to requests for service, and their staff is very pleasant and conscientious. For example, we had a Halloween decoration blow over during the night last week. I didnt fix it in the morning before work, but it was upright and scaring the neighborhood when I got home that evening. I discovered that the Brookside technician had come to aerate the lawn that day and he fixed the decoration for me! Thats truly above and beyond! Thank you, Brookside!

So, I was searching for their number and ran into these reviews, so I decided to write one after reading how others have been upset for petty stuff. I have been using them for ten years. I have been the one who has not been easy. They gladly treat my lawn and leave the envelope at the door and I am the one who does not take care of the bill promptly, they have to wait for a month sometimes. Yet, they never bug me and always continue to provide service. The girl in the office is very supportive and understanding and the guys who show up are ALL super nice, clean cut, uniformed and super pleasant to deal with. I dont understand why people would complain. Perhaps your lawn is not perfect because you dont let them apply what they recommend or decline their suggestions. In any case, I am very pleased with them and will continue to use them despite all the offers I receive from competitors.

Brookside Lawn Service is by far the best lawn care provider that Ive ever been with, and Ive been with plenty! I tried trugreen a few years back but lacked any personality or friendliness, and none of the workers knew what they were talking about. Then after trugreen I tried bare foot lawns I believe it was called and for a year or two it worked awesome! But then very sadly trugreen bought them out. :( then after seeing brookside at my neighbors house and saw their lawn so green I decided to give brookside a call and they came out right away with a professional who knew his stuff, told me what needed to be done and gave me a price. Then about 2 days later a worker came out and fixed my lawn! And after about 1 month and a half my lawn looked just as good or better than my neighbors! The only reason I took one star off is because they no longer mow lawns and they did such a good job I would have gotten both if it were still available. I would definitely recommend brookside.

Terrible working conditions for employees and they didnt give my brother his last paycheck for almost two weeks after they forced him to quit when his boss swore at him and he swore back. Receptionists are unhelpful shrews and they screwed my family over for a good while. Would give 0 stars if I could.

They were servicing the home we purchased inJuly so we thought wed give them a try. HUGE MISTAKE. We agreed to a service then they tried to lock us into 7 visit plan, constant upcharges to our services and Acct, they would not honor the plan originally offered to us, customer service reps are HORRIBLE and DO NOT know their own services or listen to issues We have received 5 calls 3 letters AND they came to our house to get us to recontract AFTER we said no more. And when I called to speak with manager/supervisor to get off their list, suspiciously no one is ever available or returns calls.

We live in a newer development and everyone is growing grass or working to keep their grass looking good. Today some guy is going door to door putting pamphlets on everyones front door trying to sell service (07/03/2016). The issue is that this person is so lazy walking door to door not using the sidewalk, but cutting thru everyones front lawns that we are working hard to maintain or grow. Why would I want to buy lawn service from a Company that doesnt care about my lawn!

I wish there was a way to give ZERO stars It has sadly been a long, expensive and painful ride with the folks at Brookside. 3+ years of service, more than $1,000.00 in fees and a lawn that looks terrible. We agreed to their most frequent (also most costly) level of service. We also agreed (and paid for) upcharges, based on their expertise and recommendations, to treat our soil, additional treatments (also at additional cost) to counteract weeds, aerate our yard and over seed. All of this coupled with outrageous water bills in conjunction with bills from Brookside trying ANYTHING to get our lawn looking decent....IT NEVER HAPPENED!!! When calling to complain and speak with the owner (Melinda) I was given EVERY excuse possible (hot summer, excessive drought, poor soil make-up, weeds from adjacent vacant lots, cold winters, improper mowing) as to why our lawn looks so CRAPPY. Meanwhile, every neighbor around us that utilizes other lawn services (with identical conditions) have green, thick lawns that are free of weeds, grubs, dead spots and tall fescue. Stay away from these folks...we trusted them, gave them carte blanche on services and payment for a lawn that absolutely sucks!!!

I normally never give 5 stars especially after only receiving the first application but I am impressed so far, their billing and prices are exactly as promised, the representative Bruff was on time, friendly, and took care not to endanger my young fruit trees or the areas I had to plant grass seed due to stump grinding, I like the idea of the granular product as I can see how much and where the fertilizer was applied.
