I have done several projects with and for Southern Standard. Every project is top notch. If you are looking for a quality hardscape company look no further

8 sq.ft. cement pad with a small fance = $2,000 among other crazy prices. Young man has lied about being an owner since he had no idea how the prices were calculated. Never allowed for work to be done. But, the initial impression on prices was horrifying. Suppirting wall with a few more things was estimated to be 50,000. Work should have lasted less then one week. Crazy numbers.

My project will be in three phases, phase 1 Clean Out has been completed and Ryan and his crew were on time, fully apprised of the work to be done. Everything smoothly handled, Im looking forward to phase 2 which will be installation of roughly 50 plants.

After buying a new house in late winter/early spring, I did not realize just how poor of a shape my front and back yard were in. After requesting a quote, SSL quickly arranged for someone to give me a comprehensive rundown. Not only did the quote break down exactly what I was looking for, all additional items were included as optional adders. Plenty of pictures were included as part of the quote and the price was very fair. The office was also extremely responsive and very understanding of me taking a solid 2-3 weeks to evaluate the quote. The actual work itself was done quickly and professionally. Even when a slight misstep occurred (my internet line had not been marked and they accidentally cut it), they leapt into action to make sure it was resolved as quickly as possible. While my lawn is still growing in, I feel absolutely confident that even if I dont get a pristine end product (which I feel I probably will), I can trust that the admin will be responsive and supportive.

We had Southern Landscape do another project at our home, this time a side garden expansion and drainage expansion near our fence line. They then put in new sod in an area that needed help. The company did a great job, as always, provided a watering guide for each part of the project, and did a drive by check up in the days following to look in on the new plants. Communication is great, they do a fantastic job, and we would (and will) use them again as new landscape projects arise!

Working with the team at Southern Standard Landscaping was one of the best contractor experiences Ive ever had. They were thorough and timeline in communication and the service on-site while doing the work was extremely good. Ryan and Sam both took the time to answer every question I had, did walkthroughs of everything I needed done to clear a 1/2 acre of jungle from the back yard, and they went out of their way to do the job - every detail accounted for. Would absolutely use them again and recommend them to everyone I know.

It had gotten out of hand for me and they were able to get out and promptly give me a quote and then started on the project about a week or two later! Everything was done in a day and it looks fantastic. The staff was all friendly and helpful. Would definitely call on their help again if needed!

When we first started to have our project quoted out they where very easy to work with and great at answering the phone. They kept checking in to see how the planning was going. Than we received a quote for about $16k under what they quoted and decided to go in a different direction they stopped answering calls, txt and emails when we need plans that we paid for released.

The entire process was great. They were very professional, did an amazing job and even came in under than the original quote. The project manager went out of his way to make sure we were happy with the end result. We will use them for all our future projects for sure!

Two stars because they did an excellent job in clearing the backyard of weeds, bushes and even trees. But their general lawn care CONTRACT we paid too much for this service and the quality did not match. Aside from also having their employees trespassing into other people s property (with NO Trespassing signs in direct sight) to relieve themselves, my lawn did not look any more manicured than my neighbors who was paying a whole lot less (like 100s) to have their lawn look just as nice or more than ours. It was a complete ripoff. But we are new homeowners in a somewhat new community and we used these same 5 reviews you see here for them to make a TERRIBLE DECISION. if you value quality and your dollars I would not sign a contract for general maintenance with this company. It s grossly overpriced AND the quality is subpar for what they charge you. There are better options out there. Don t be fooled by these google reviews like we were.

I had Southern Standard come out to give me a quote on a project. Customer service was friendly and communication was initially good. The problem was with the quote they sent me. The initial quote received via email was not apparently for both parts of my project. It showed a price in the email, that I assumed was for everything, but you have to click the link, and select the optional services to get the total. (the optional service, in this case, was the entire reason I was hiring them, to fix some drainage) When I asked about the discrepancy, I was told about having to click the link in the email and select both parts to get the actual total (vs what was in the email). They also added more to the quote after I had initially said we wanted to go with them, saying they mistakenly left out some of the cost. A combination of these factors led me to go with another company. I do not recommend them. Being upfront on pricing is important, and their quote model comes across as deceitful.

Excellent job cleaning up a lot of brush in my backyard. They showed up on time and were done in a couple of hours. Left the yard spotless. Very professional. Walter even showed my how to hand prune my Japanese maple. Now I can finally see my back fence. Already booked more landscaping services with them.

Southern Standard was excellent from the start. Communication was prompt and responsive throughout the project. They removed our ivy, mulched with pine straw and pine mulch, pruned, raised and leveled stepping stones, advised re aesthetic decisions, and cleaned up. We used Southern Standard Landscaping to replace old tired grass in our front yard. They installed new sod, and it looks gorgeous. The young man that came to give us the estimate was prompt and professional, and the installation crew was also very prompt and very professional. They fixed some other things that I had not requested, but needed to be done, while they were here. Excellent service. I plan to use them again for other things now that I have found them. Part 2: I liked them so much the first time, I had them come and move 2 trees and a boulder. We had a Japanese Maple that had spread across the front walk, and they moved it back 4 feet. No way I could have done that myself. And they pressure washed the walk and driveway afterwards. Highly recommend

This is my second time using them and I was just as satisfied as the first time. They exceeded my expectations, and left the yard looking great.

We recently bought a house and soon discovered that the backyard would turn into a pond every time it rained due to how the property was graded and lack of a drainage system. Sam came out to inspect everything a few days after I sent in my request, and had everything fixed within the week. In less than 2 days they re-graded the yard, routed the gutters to multiple drainage catch basins, installed sod, and seeded/amended an area that wasn t even in the quote. Sam, Fernando, and Liz are great at communicating with you, and their crew is extremely efficient and professional. I m very impressed with the work they did and will definitely recommend and use them in the future.

I had them come out to remove the underbrush, ivy, and small trees from my yard. I also had them mulch the leaves too. They did a great job and worked really hard. They were on time and managed to complete the quarter acre job in one day. They just returned the next day to spray. I am very pleased with their service!

We use Southern Standard Landscaping on a monthly basis to maintain our yard and surrounding property. Were always pleased with their work. Sam and his crew are professional & hard-working young men. They maintain our shrubs/bushes by keeping them trimmed and shapely, they mow our lawn, spread pinestraw when needed, and cleanup fallen leaves. In the past theyve removed hedges and bushes that were no longer wanted. And they always do a fantastic job of removing all debris so our property is spotless. We found that maintaining a fairly large landscaped front & back yard is difficult when were busy living our best lives. Having Southern Standard to rely on is one less thing to worry about; they help us keep our property looking good.

Sam with Southern Standard Landscaping quoted us $1595 on 3/9/23 for a small job of pruning some of our shrubs on the front of our house that I had paid $300 for the same work the past few years. I had two other quotes and was able to get the work done this year for $350, it took two men about 3-4 hours. I was shocked when I got Sams quote and I assumed there must have been some mistake. I emailed Sam twice for an explanation of why his quote was so much higher than the other quotes but I never received a response. I have had several requests from the company for a review so I finally decided to write one. Bruce Smith

Wow!! I can t thank Southern Standard Landscaping enough for the INCREDIBLE transformation of my yard. They didn t just clean up my overgrown and neglected landscaping beds, they transformed them into a beautifully manicured new garden complete with thick layers of freshly installed mulch. I couldn t be more pleased, and I should have called them years ago! Also, I found both Sam Badgett, the owner, and Fernando, the crew lead on the day of the job, to be consistently polite, friendly, and helpful throughout. Really, they are just wonderful guys to work with. Overall I can t recommend this outfit enough, and I will definitely be calling them again for any future landscaping projects!

They gave me a detailed estimate that was very reasonable for the work being asked to be done. Fernando and his team showed up on time, worked quickly, and were quite thorough. When something out of their control came up (thanks ridiculously rainy week), they stayed in touch and worked hard to get things back on track. I needed some fencing removed that had gotten overgrown with vines that the fence company wouldnt remove. SSL came in and in no time had all the debris removed and sprayed the area so the vines wont grow back. Great job!

Southern Standard Landscaping removed 6 overgrown bushes that were in a terrible location. They showed up promptly, and quickly removed all the bushes. No roots have grown back either. They are very good and I will definitely use them again.

Southern Standard arrived on time, cut tree limbs, trimmed bushes, removed cuttings and weeds, and spread twenty yards of mulch. The yard now looks exceedingly better. The workers were competent and courteous, and worked from 7am to 5:30pm. We are very satisfied with the work they accomplished and recommend them for improving the appearance of a property.

I have used Southern Standard Landscaping on two different occasions and would have them back in a heartbeat! Sam and his crew have a number of talents regarding Landscaping. They are honest, polite, meticulous and thorough a great team!

Sam and the crew did an excellent job at my house laying mulch, pinestraw, and granite chips. While Sam was a little late to our initial estimate meeting (not unheard of in a high traffic area), he called me BEFORE our scheduled time to let me know. This may seem like a small point but it let me know what sort of professional I was dealing with. The quoted price was in line with others that I received, so his customer service probably tipped the scale in their favor. Once accepted I received a schedule email and text. The team arrived along with Sam about 5 mins early and when the scheduled time was upon us, they were ready to go. While Sam said that they would blow out/clean up the beds to be serviced it was I that was blown away when I noticed that they blew the leaves off my entire yard (front and back), carport, and driveway. The team worked hard and completed the job in a timely and professional manner, and cleaned up after they were done. They even took some time to get rid of a large bees nest that was in the ground. If I could give a rating higher than 10, I would do it. I don t think that I could recommend Southern Standard Landscaping enough. I will be using them again and you should too.

When I moved into my home, the bushes, trees, and flower beds were terribly overgrown. I felt as if I lived in a forest! In just ONE DAY, LITERALLY, Southern Standard Landscape transformed my yard from a forest into a beautiful yard that I love. What was estimated by other companies to take 3 or 4 days to accomplish, at greater cost, these hard working, polite gentleman accomplished in ONE DAY!!! I was so impressed that I have hired them to do my weekly maintenance, and that is saying a lot!!!! These guys are hard working, focused, professional, communicate very well about every step they are doing, and they get the job done!

Timely & professional. Not only did they remove the three large pile of leaves, but they blew the whole front yard.

I told Sam I was just interested in getting the yard back looking decent. And he told me exactly what I needed. Much better so than another company I talked to who I listened to. And basically just ended up convincing them I just needed what Sam said needed done. So I ended up back with Sam at Southern Standard. Very happy I did.

Every time I have used Southern Standard Landscaping, I have a wonderful experience. If I need an estimate ahead of time, they are punctual for that appointment. I receive the quote in a quick and succinct manner to make my decision. When the day arrives for the work to be done, I dont give it a second thought as to whether Southern Standard will be on time. They are ALWAYS on time and their work ethic is unmatched. They also communicate as the job is being done and are incredibly polite. We are so lucky to have found a company like Southern Standard Landscaping to handle all of the jobs were unable to do ourselves. I have no doubt that we will be using them in the future.

I engaged them to clean up my front yard of leaves and to trim some shrubs. They did an outstanding job and left the area clean of any debris. I highly recommend Sam and his crew. They are reasonably priced as well. Positive

Quoted an inflated arbitrary amount for the job, never responded to multiple replies asking to explain the quote, and continues to send obnoxious follow ups asking for things like Google reviews despite not being hired to do the job.

The Souther Standard team was friendly, communicative, prompt, and efficient! The work they did clearing a piece of my property was completed in less time than I expected and turned out better than I ever would have hoped. I contracted Southern Standard at the recommendation of my sister, who also had a great experience with them.

Amazing job and done in the exact amount of time quoted. The leaf removal service was top tier.
