TruGreen Review: Not Worth the Investment I recently wrapped up a year of service with TruGreen, and unfortunately, I can't say it was worth it. Despite their claims of transforming my lawn, I ended up seeing little improvement compared to using a standard product like Scotts fertilizer. Over the course of eight services, I continued to battle stubborn weeds that never seemed to fully disappear. Even after reaching out for additional treatments, the results were underwhelming. I had to request a reapplication of the overseed because I simply didn’t notice any difference. The whole experience felt like I was throwing money down the drain. On top of that, canceling the service was an absolute nightmare. It felt like they didn’t take “no” for an answer. I had to decline offers and promotions more than ten times before they finally agreed to cancel my account. The aggressive sales tactics were frustrating and only added to my dissatisfaction with the overall service. If you're considering TruGreen, I’d suggest sticking with DIY solutions like Scotts fertilizer instead. You’ll likely achieve similar, if not better, results without the hassle and expense.
My lawn care specialist Max did a fantastic job taking care of my lawn over the summer. I haven't seen him for a little bit but I am very pleased! Always polite and takes such good care.
What wonderful service. They sprayed my father’s lawn after he passed away and then proceeded to send the bill to collections. They sent no bill, maybe they sent it to his email? Doesn’t matter, they know the address and maybe next time they could send a letter. Perhaps they don’t have customers long enough to have one die. The lawn looks like garbage and their spray treatment seemed to make more weeds grow. What a dumpster fire of a company, terrible service. If your bill gets lost or their email goes to your spam folder most companies would maybe try sending a letter to the house where the service was performed, not tru green, they will mess with your credit rating instead.
This is the worst customer service I've had in my life. I've been a true green customer for years. I always prepaid to get a better deal. I cannot get to talk to anybody other than a third-party answering service. That was the most rudest professional company I've ever talk to my life. I'm in the customer service business and this is not customer service should be. I asked to talk to the manager of my account. The interrogation process was a nightmare. Beware of this company not to mention since I've been a customer they never called me. They just show up and start billing me every year and try to get me looped in their system and I call every year to negotiate the price for one pay all For the year. No, they're charging for extra services when they're product doesn't work and it says 100% satisfaction guaranteed then they say nope you've had too many 100% satisfaction guarantee. This was in reference to the mosquito spray which did not work as well as it did in the past five years and I've been a customer of those and now they charge me because I've had too many.
I had questions in regards to my tree and shrub coverage. I knew that a recent treatment had been done but didn't understand why one shrub had spots/ black areas on the leaves. TruGreen sent out a technician that checked the damage and explained what was going on / how the wet summer affected the problem and basically what to expect. He also retreated that particular shrub without charge. I really appreciated his knowledge and the manner in which he shared that knowledge.

TruGreen lawn service is fine. Back at the office, not so good. Last year they put a note on their invoices they are going to bill by email, never asked us. 4 months later I get a letter from a collections agency, missed 2 payments. I called and they told me they switched, but who reads all that stuff, and plus, I get a thousand emails every day, I didnt expect a bill thru email nor would I agree to it. I paid the bill over the phone. They asked if Id like to continue service, to which when I find a good alternative I will switch. I said no, Id like to continue. They said they essentially can no longer trust me so need a credit card they can bill automatically, BUT, they have stopped the automatic email thing due to all the complaints. Nice. *UPDATE* Now I am not having issues with billing, but the service has gone way down hill. We can barely see any evidence that any granulars were left. It seems the last 2 applications were rush jobs. I have decided to start doing it myself again.

I am NOT a customer my neighbors are and during their application TruGreen sprayed my raspberries and apple tree with a pesticide (Talstar) that specifically states do not use on fruit trees I asked for the MSDS and the application technicians said they do not carry physical copies and their tablet would not download it. I provided them my email address and now 4 hours later they have not provided it.
Our yard was full of weeds, the vacant area owned by the State of MN was left for years to the mercy of every kind of weed. No matter how hard we tried our yard was a weed magnet. Then we called Trugreen.....WHAT A DIFFERENCE! It keeps getting better, more healthy and beautiful.
They are without a doubt the worst lawn care company. On the first and only application that I received from them this year they canceled on me twice and never bothered to reschedule.I had to call them back after a month went by and many weeds ago 4/22. Then I never got another treatment.When I called to see why they have not been coming out, I was told they did forget me because of a glitch in the system. But I was told it was my fault for not calling them sooner.You never see the same person twice and half the time they complain they dont have the the right equipment to do the job or forget to do part of your lawn.

What a welcome as a new customer. I was told/ sold on the plan of $99 (1/2 off) for the first treatment and $168 for each application after that. Instead, I was charged $268 for the first treatment which included $99 treatment along with $168 grub control. Lucky me! Dont recall agreeing to that!
Jason was great! I wasn t home at the time, but he left a very thorough print off of what he did and what the analysis of the yard was. He had good suggestions, and the dandelions are wilting after the first treatment!!! Woot woot!!
The applicator apparently didnt know where my lot lines were, so he only treated half my yard. Fortunately, TrueGreen had sent me a text saying he was here, and I happened to be home & caught him before he left, so he went back & treated the other half of my yard. TrueGreen needs to do a better job of communicating where the lot lines are to their applicators.

The scheduling service needs to be improved drastically! Its hard to get scheduling scheduled. It should be made by the local center. Not the national center who doesnt know the area in other states!!

I understand calling someone to see if they want services but calling me 4 times within 2 hours ON A SUNDAY, and then incessantly calling me and leaving no voicemails? I work for a living and can t answer my phone at work all the time and won t make an exception for any number I don t know. I blocked one number and they started calling from another! STOP CALLING. Buyer beware, if you re looking for an estimate and fill out their online form just to get an online estimate, they will call you non stop.

Meet the tech at 748am talked to him for about 2 mind letting him know what I wanted done. Went back into the house. Got another text at 753am that work was done. Went outside and he was gone checked the cameras to see what he had done in the yard and he never left his truck. Only have him on camer 1 time and that was when I meet him in the front yard to talk to him They where the highest priced yard care I found after I started looking for someone to replace them. There are other local companies out there that are charging half the piece and do better work

Do not start an account with this company. If you ever cancel their service they will never leave you alone. I used Tru Green for about 1.5 years. The first year was alright, no spectacular improvement but there was steady slow improvement so I let it go. The fall of the first year it all started going bad. They scheduled an aeration. The city had tore up and replanted the front 8 feet of my yard, so I called and specifically told asked them to not even touch that area it was the cities responsibility to repair it but to please go ahead with the rest of the property. They said they understood and would note it. When the day came, not only did Tru Green aerate the area they said they wouldnt, they dug giant mud ruts with their machine, and did the same in a large portion of my neighbors lawn. We are not talking like foot over a confusing property line, they went all they way to their driveway. I called and complained, they offered nothing in recompense (let alone to my neighbor), but when I asked they assured me if the city refused to keep up the repair in that section due to their disaster they would fix it all. Against my better judgement I let them continue well into the next summer hoping it would get better. As the service did not seem to improve my lawn I called to cancel. During this call they stated I should have been calling to get extra visits, and it would have been at no extra cost. Seems silly pay to have lawn expert at my property monthly and I need to tell him what he is doing isnt working. They ran through script repeatedly until they finally gave up and accepted my cancel. Since then has been no better. I get a call at least once a week from some poor phone worker clearly forced to aggressively stick to their script and try to get me to come back. I get constant mail, both at the house and email. I have asked for the calls to stop nicely, I have explained their service and response was terrible and I dont want it anymore. If I accidentally answer the call I am forced to hang up on these poor workers because theyre forced to try to keep me on with the script. They are awful. Hire someone local, with actual lawn professionals.
Their lawn treatments are effective but they just arent professional. Last year I cancelled after they randomly showed up to my house and walked my yard without asking permission to try and upsell me. This year theyve call me over 20 times to try to get me to sign up again. Ive told them no multiple times but they keep calling from different numbers. Stay away if you dont like being harassed.
Had some issues last year but trying to inspire them to do better this year. Giving them another chance with this year s applications. Looking through there reviews they have some serious issues to overcome. At the rate they are are going with customer dissatisfaction they will not be around much longer unless they fix these issues. I hope they can!
Unethical business. I used them last year and didnt renew (hired an organic company) and they did my lawn when I wasnt home and charged my credit card that they kept on file without my permission!!!!
Asked about spraying for weeds around a bush and under the deck. And told they wouldn t do, very small area, they re already there spraying. Very disappointing

Wow these people are terrible. I called to get a quote, after hearing quote I decided not to move forward with them. They have since then, called me dozens of times from different numbers. This last call I just got, I informed them that we are not moving forward with TruGreen, informed them that I have already told someone else at the company that I want to be removed from the list, and they hung up on me. Terribly unprofessional, and theyll keep harassing you.

I have been using Trugreen for last 10 years. Over the last 2-3 years, the quality of their service has dropped significantly. They dont come out on time in early spring and that results in crab grass being not taken care of for the entire year. This year they came in late May and sprayed our lawn but there were quite a few patches that the weed continued to stay on. Wont recommend Trugreen for new customers. There are better smaller businesses that do better job than Trugreen.

I canceled last August. They kept coming to my house and just called for a $250 payment. She even admitted over the phone that there was a cancellation request last year and they still demanded payment. I paid the bill but what an awful company. To be completely honest the grass did okay but looked nothing like when I did it myself. **EDIT** TrueGreen did call but made no mention of what happened and was just attempting to have us stay on the service.

Had someone come out to do Aeration & Overseeding on the property. A new employee hit our irrigation systems waterline within 5 minutes of being here. Employee didnt know the procedures about what to do. I asked him if I would still be charged if I asked him to stop and employee told me, Yes, so I had him continue. Its $350 for Aeration & Overseeding, so i wanted to get what I paid for. Called management to try to get this fixed and was told they could offer me nothing for the damage to the system. Had to go through 5 different people calling me and was offered nothing for my time or anything to try to make it right. Ive been called so many times by the company that its upseting how undervalued I feel as a customer. Aeration damaged our irrigation system, so I cant even water the seeds from overseeding. Money wasted all around.
Not too mad with their products, they just keep leaving our fence gates open when they leave and my dogs get out of the yard. Asked to speak with someone at the local level and they said they cant do that. Discontinued and will be seeking a local company.

Lesson learned. Will never buy their services again. When you pay a large amount of money for a service you expect to get the full service, not half of it. But they have no issues immediately charging you for it in full and then making up excuses as to why they performed only half of it. Customer service is definitely lacking at this company.

I have used TruGreen for years since I came to MN and my lawn is lush -- 1st 2 pics; I decided to try them at my FL home and I did not get the same results; TruGreen was no match for the chinch bugs and the lawn will need to be replaced; second set of 2 pics is FL prior to TruGreen service, and the last set of 7 pics is with TruGreen and the lawn is dead;
Jawara was a great guy to work with. Very knowledgeable and he always let me know what he was about to do, and what I needed to do to improve my lawn after he left and between appointments. Very polite, friendly and professional.

Generally good service. Weeds are mostly controlled. Have had some issues with grub control and timing of their services. But 2020-2021 posed staffing issues for many companies.. Quack grass still a problem later in season.
Not great, came too early while heavy leaf cover. Sprayed right before 4 days of heavy rain. Had to repeat service due not keeping weeds down. Did not leave paperwork that they had been here and what they did. Shall I go on? Lots to be desired but company before them was just as bad.
Had my mom call for a quote for a small lawn so we could take care of the dandelion problem they quoted her at $1,400. Yall are rip off artists. I can say there is no way in hell we will ever use TruGreen.
Very unhappy I called last Friday they give me one price, I call within 5 days price goes up almost $100, they keep saying my property is big, but they don t realize we have a big deck, walk out patio and pond in the back that doesn t have grass, also trying argue with the customer that they are right like they live at this property and know.
Absolutely terrible. Each visit they ignored our backyard which needed the most attention. Had to call each time to get it re-done but after 6 missed times I decided to cancel. Our lawn also looks no different than when we started. Save your time and money and go with someone else.
Horrible. Charged us up front for tick and mosquito treatment ($778) then still have not come. Then they tell me they canceled the service without asking me about it and supposedly refunded me. 2 problems with this...1. I wanted the service not a cancelation and 2. they DID NOT refund us!! Plus... theyve supposedly treated our yard for weeds but we still have weeds actively growing in our yard. I CALLED AGAIN...and was just told a manager would call me cack. This company is AWFUL.

I used Trugreen for the last 2 years and each year had issues with them not spraying my entire yard and even worse SPRAYING A NEIGHBORS HOUSE instead.. Expect to constantly babysit this company to make sure they actual come out to spray YOUR yard and spray your ENTIRE yard. Theyre often not reliable on what days they come out if that matters to you as well. Customer service isnt rude, but they do nothing to resolve issues but just give another unreliable date that you have to make sure and watch to see if they actually do the job.

Applied fertilizer, not weed control. They came out a second time and did the same thing. Now my yard has twice the nitrogen to burn in the hottest part of summer!

This company is just trash. I had a driver pull up to my house unscheduled. Applied a product onto my lawn. Leave a flag saying lawn was treated. When he went to leave the bill, he noticed he had the wrong house and just left. He never let me know what he applied. I have an appointment for a treatment with a reputable company, but without knowing what the Trugreen worker applied, I cannot go forward. I have called multiple times and have received the exact same response. That a manager will return my call and let me know what they did. They never called....
Not unusual for Truegreen to inform me that theyre on the way to my home, then not show up. Its happened several times. Im guessing theyre short staffed.
The technician is always courteous and helpful. He lets us know before he starts the treatment, which is at our request. Our lawn looks good considering we are in a semi-drought and not watering the lawn! Thanks, TruGreen.
Absolute garbage of a company. I purchased a fertilizer and weed control package. Thank goodness I didn t pay all up front. They would come out and do whatever they wanted and just bill me. Put in a grub control without talking to me. Then just charged my card. My plan was supposed to be around $60 a month. My last appointment, I looked in the app to see what it was for. Saw aeration and seeding. No price listed. You don t find out the cost until it s done. I had to contact them to find out what it was going to be. $235. Wasn t going to say anything to me. Just show up and seed my lawn without permission and then charge my card. So I canceled my account. And by the way, the 4 treatments I did have did absolutely nothing. Weeds were thriving and no improvement in the grass. 0/10 would never recommend.
I have called my local TruGreen office in Maple Grove for two weeks, trying to get service started, still waiting on a a return call. I asked my neighbors about the service they all agreed there grass improved but getting a hold of a rep in area when you have issues is a nightmare. I called today asked to speak with a supervisor and the rep just transferred my call to another rep in a different state.

Only did half of our yard and would show up at the scheduled time and say it was because we called to reschedule. That was not true, we never rescheduled we were waiting for them. Called customer service and was put on hold for 10 minutes then hung up on. I will be sure to spread the word. NERVER USE TRUGREEN !!!
Fertilizer treatment worked well and the staff was professional. However, I kept getting the hard sell on other services to the point of frustration. I cancelled my service in the Fall of 2020 because I am selling my house and moving in 1st quarter of 2021. This company keeps calling and trying to put the hard sell on me even after I politely told them why I was cancelling my service and when I landed in my new home I would call them. I am not going to call. Do yourself a favor and find someone else to handle your yard services.
Signed up last year. They did okay on weed control. But as summer wound down they missed 2 straight services and came after it snowed in fall. This year didn t realize I was auto renew. The sprayed my lawn in the rain. Not just a sprinkle a steady all day rain. Have tried to call and cancel. Can t get a hike if anyone. Funny thing is when you use prompt to sign up for new or add on service your call answered within a minute vs sitting on hold for 30 minutes and never getting a called back. Stay away
Yesterday I received notice I was going to receive a lawn treatment between 8a-1P. It s 5pm now, still not here. and the app keeps showing they are in their way in 8min, 20min, 10min, etc. I have dogs and can t let them out until the stuff dries. I have wasted my entire Saturday waiting for TruGreen. The last time I received service was April and they did the application and we got 6 inches of snow 2.5 hours later. They didn t show up in May. Cancelling Monday since they are closed in the weekend. This is terrible service. Update 2021: I ve tried cancelling this service, they still show up. Waited on the phone for 38 mins to cancel, the nice rep said it was cancelled, just got a text they would be here in the next hour- I m at work for 12. I m contacting the attorney generals office next, this is ridiculous.
Dude shows up at house and writes incredibly vague write up of service performed with a recommendation to add top soil on an electronic ticket. They give you this general number to call that takes over 2 hours to get through. Called Maple Grove office directly and it puts you on the same system no matter what. Amazingly if you pick any of the options that might induce you to spend more money you get through immediately though. Chat feature doesnt work on the app. Their is no customer service once you sign up. Why would they have the service guy just disappear instead of calling because of no contact. That was their excuse for not meeting in person. So call or give me a number to call or something. Going to cancel my credit card prepayment for the whole year. Going to try a local guy that you might be able to talk to.
Terrible customer service! I cancelled them by phone. They continue to auto message me that they are coming and continue to expect to access my credit card for payment
We started part way through last year so we werent able to apply the entire summers worth of treatments, but already this year our lawn looks more plush and vibrant. Everyone who has come out for services has been super friendly and very helpful - theyre willing to really explain what the service theyre providing is and how it works, as well as offering some general advice on lawn care, and tips for other things around the yard. The weed control is very helpful, especially when you need to have them come out extra times because the dandelions are monsters!
I have spent hours on hold, sent requests for contact and entered my phone number for a call back multiple times without response. They treated my lawn this week even though we cancelled our service last year. They then charged us $97 for a treatment we not only cancelled but they also most likely killed my newly planted seed. It was charged to a credit card that they should no longer have on easy pay because we discontinued service. Their preemergent treatment most likely cost me $60+ in seed and a bunch of time that I spent repairing my lawn and overseeding. I filed for a charge dispute with my CC.

Horrible customer service.They wont call me back, wont even show up for TWO appointments in a single week I never cancelled and they are trying to tell me I requested to cancel both appointments in a week.(never happened. Im having a hell of a time getting anyone to even show up!)My lawn looks worse than when they started. I will be requesting a refund if and when I ever get a call back. This is ABSURD. Because of their lack of even showing up for their appointments my yard has deteriorated even further. I should have listened to the neighbors that told me to stay away from TruGreen.

They cut my grass okay, they also fertilize okay, they could do a better job if they took a couple extra minutes. They rush to mow and rush to fertilize. I have a good size Yard that needs a few extra minutes.
I am canceling my TruGreen services after numerous attempts to talk with a representative about the damage done to our yard have gone unanswered this year. Our newly leveled and sodded front area was severely burned following an application last summer. A manager did come out (without notifying me) and agreed there was damage. A few attempts were made to restore the grass, but huge sections did not come back this year. What should be their problem has now become my problem. I m sure there is a company out there that can help me.
TruGreen finally resolve the issue I initially had with them with good customer service so I removed my poor rating and feedback and changed it back to a four star.
Worst looking grass I have had in the 7 years Ive owned this house. If you want your lawn to look like Dennis Rodmans hair go with Trubrown or Truyellow thats what my lawn is yellowish-brown, and very few patches of green!
Worst service will never sign up again First of all, I purchased grub control. It is August now and no one showed up to treat the grubs. My lawn is now infested with grubs. Secondly, I called a week ago asking for grub control to setup. I was told appointment is scheduled for Monday and no one showed up. I have been on calls with the customer service since morning and keep getting wrong information over and over. Finally, I learned appointment is scheduled tomorrow but not for grub control. The choice I was given is to cancel the appointment tomorrow with no end in sight for grub control. I am told a manager will call and no one has called me so far. Poor service all the way through..

The absolute worst summer 2021 (NW suburbs of Mpls)! treated my dead (drought) lawn twice and charged us for it, once after being assured by a tech that future services would be cancelled. Have called customer support 4 times, each time assuring me that a manager will contact me. Will not refund my money. Not sure my grass will ever come back to life after their treatments. Have used for years without issue but this is not the same company it had been. Stay far away.

I was checking my Ring cameras one day and it just so happened to be the day that TrueGreen was spraying my yard. I noticed that there was a 1/3rd of the property that they did not spray so I called customer service to report it. The customer service rep arranged for them to come back out the next day to complete the job. When the associate arrived at my home they saw me in the garage working and drove off. I got an alert from the TrueGreen app stating that they would be coming back out in an hour. An hour later they pulled up in my drive way, I guess long enough for the app to register them being there and then they left. I called customer service again and told them what happened on that particular day and they scheduled them to come out the Tuesday of the falling week (today) to finish the job. Today I was left a voice mail from the Maple Grove TrueGreen stating that I refused service today and that I requested all the rest of my services from them be cancelled. This is craaazy!!! I have been in meetings all morning. I never talked to TrueGreen today until I had to call them yet again to complain about this false allegation. Totally ridiculous!
They gave a 30%refund. Saw on camera guy didnt do much of anything. 5 mins a visit amd left

Seems covid-19 is an excuse for very poor customer service. On hold forever and finally get to talk to a real person to see about getting services for the first time with your company only to be put on hold again and then completely disconnected. I wasnt even able to ask a question.
I signed up almost 2 weeks ago and still have not been able to receive any services. I have called the office and requested at least my initial service to be done as my lawn is full of dandelions. If they are too busy to take on new customers they should stop. I am going to try Scotts and see if they are more responsive.

Apparently their service auto-renews without any warning and nobody ever told me this. I was asked if I read the contract. Give me a break. Then I cancel my service and someone calls me the next day asking why. I explain the deceptive business practices as the reason and her response was so can you describe why you left. When I called her out for not listening to me she hung up. SHE WAS THE ONE WHO CALLED ME!!!!! This company is unresponsive and only cares about you when you are about to leave. Do yourself a favor and sign up with a local company rather than this conglomerate.

Their phone message says to use the app to get pricing. The app is a complete non-starter because the radio buttons in the request form (within the app itself) do not work and that leaves you completely dead in the water. Is 0 stars an option? The mosquito sprayer specialist sprayed the wrong house and I have now gone 7 weeks without having my mosquito spray because every time I call they say theyre going to have the specialist come back and they say theyre going to have the local TruGreen call me back which is this location and I have heard nothing. Up until this point I had been fairly happy with TruGreen but when you have to actually deal with an issue they dont know how to handle it.

Results are good. Lawn is green and weed free for most part. However, TruGreen has been late with every application this year and I am starting to see crabgrass creep in. As they have been late I see no way I will get all the promised applications that I paid for. I am expecting a refund for applications I dont receive.
Complete lack of proper communication. I wanted to aerate a particular area and wanted them to contact me before doing any service. The service guys come and does the service the whole lawn and not the actual effected area and runs like the wind, drop a VM at 7:30am (Didnt bother to call again or ring the door bell). Paying $100s of dollars for this unprofessionalism, Putting in a BBB complain shortly. Update: Got connected with Trugreen and they performed the right service. Lets see if this resolve the situation in the upcoming weeks. They have promised to touch base in couple of weeks.
I have been home a few times when TruGreen technicians came out and although they didnt see me, I saw how very thorough they are in their work. They seem to care about the work they do and keeping the customer satisfied. My yard looks quite different since treatments have started, and Im hoping next year it looks even better. I have been working with TruGreen for over two years. The quality and overall health of my lawn has definitely improved. It isnt perfect, and it does take time - but they are thorough and get to my property often enough to give the lawn ample treatments.

They have absolutely the worst customer service I have ever seen. They have no showed my scheduled appointments 3 times this summer alone for mosquito spraying. It is 3 to 5 business day wait everytime you need a reservice and they dont even make exceptions when they have no showed your previous appointment When your are paying 120.00 plus per service this is completely unacceptable. We tried them this year as they were cheaper than our other service but never again! It also takes 2 days to speak to a manager to get any kind of resolution. This UNSERVICE is ridiculous

I sign up for TruGreen service in Maple Grove , MN last fall and got the weed control, fertilizer, grass seed and aeration. I figured ill pay someone else to help me with the large yard because Im busy with family, work, etc like most familys are. They applied weed and feed last year and so far my yard looks worst then it did before I used the trugreen service. They applied the grass seed late fall, and so far this spring we have very little grass. My grass now looks very blotchy patchy. When I signed up for aeration and grass seed the said they over seed the whole yard. When I looked to see the seed in the yard I really didnt see alot in the yard in the fall but said to myself we will see what happens next spring. They missed an area and I had to call them back to do the area they missed. How spring is here and my yard looks bad. Very disappointed for the amount of money $800-$1000 I sent with them for little to no results to show for it. Right now I wouldnt use them..... Im going to try to reach out to them but I dont think anything will come of it right now that im very disappointed with them and my yard. To be continue.....
Last summer I used TruGreen and my yard looked terrible. I actually wondered if the guy sprayed my yard because he was in and out so fast. Well I gave them another shot because their pushy customer service convinced me to. Well, today I was supposed to have service, I got charged for the fertilizing and grub control. Thing is, I have a motion sensor camera in front of the house and the dude didn t even park in front of my house, put the service slip on my door, and left. You ve got to be kidding me. I feel robbed, and angry that I spent hundreds last summer using this terrible, dishonest company. How do you hire someone so lazy? Even his service slip said he was here one minute. I can t even run around my yard in a minute. It is called integrity- maybe something your business should look into.
Trugreen has cancelled 3 scheduled site visits in the past year. I call to reschedule only to have them reschedule and then cancel again. The best part is they do the neighbors directly across the street from me and then forget to do mine and say it was cancelled because the technician probably ran out of product. I am cancelling service today. Dont hire this company unless you want to get the run-around every time they cancel on you. Waste of time and money.

Horrible customer service. In all years past, I had used local lawn services which did an amazing job. Tried TruGreen this year and in the timeframe of spring to now (summer just beginning), I have had services schedule no show, arrive with the wrong equipment, zero proactive communication from the service techs or inside customer services about delayed timing, etc. The sales rep I worked with has been the best help but there is only so much he can do and provide accountability too. I would highly recommend local services for the same price if not better than TruGreen in the west metro.

Wow! We weren t expecting a miracle but we sure got one. After years of neglect the lawn at our rental property was completely depleted, bare in many large spots, and full of weeds. We began to see results right away and now after the second year of service with Trugreen it is almost golf course ready! The techs are ALWAYS friendly, informative, and helpful and it is far more affordable than we ever would have imagined! Customer support is excellent via phone, website, or email. We LOVE our trugreen results and service!

The salesman told me 100% guarantee. After I paid and they applied the weed killer, the weeds came back within 12 days. When I called about the guarantee, they hung up on me. I would like a refund.
Trugreen is thorough and professional. You are notified when they re coming, can track them on their way, and are notified when they ve finished. They leave small signs in your yard to let others know it has been treated and always ask for feedback. We are using the mosquito defense in a heavily wooded yard and it s working!
I am a little disappointed with the service. We used them last year and didnt have any issues. We signed up again this past summer. In June we listed our home for sale. The technician called my husband to say that they would be coming out, he told them to cancel services because we were moving and apparently the technician never put that in his notes and still preceeded to come out (we werent home to stop him). Then they sent us a bill for over $100. I called to ask about this bill since we canceled services and according to them, we didnt cancel until August 7th (because they came out AGAIN - luckily I was working from home) after I stopped the technician and told him that we canceled in June. They seem to not believe me since their technician didnt note anything back in June. A little frustrating considering we were trusting the technician to handle his job. Lesson learned. We will not be signing up for TruGreen in our new home.
First of all their Service Technician John is great.... But their scheduling and customer service is awful... I paid for for 5 services this summer and 1 in the spring of 2020. Right now I ve had 3 services down with the addition of a free overseeding for all the scheduling blunders. They say your on a 4-6 week schedule but it s never been less than 6 weeks and one was 8 weeks... lawn looks crappy. Thought I was paying for a service that I wouldn t have to babysit .... not impressed
The last two times they were coming to service our lawn we saw no evidence they had even been here. We are especially concerned about the last time since in the note we received by email the tech said he was sorry he missed us. We were both home that day sitting in our living room and no one knocked at the door nor did we see anyone in the yard. Also nothing was left at our door and there was no signage on our lawn. Trugreen is now asking us to re-up for next year but we are having our doubts. We had Trugreen in the last town we lived in and they always left evidence of their visits.
Terrible they do not kill crab grass or ground ivy. They will not spay the weeds that are creeping from my lawn into landscaping. I asked to please cancel my account on the app and instead sent someone out a week after treating my lawn. I did not want more fertilizer as it has had to much already.

Service was ok. I dont have a PGA golf course or MLB ball field to compare to their previous work. I was going to shoot for 3 stars, but since they call every week and now every day like a crazy ex girlfriend, Ill give them one star. Update, Spring 2018. Beware of cancellation of services. They will continue to call, email, and send letters. The emails and letter are one thing, but the constant calls is beyond annoying. It has crossed the lines of harassment. I repeatedly call back to the receptionist to remove me from everything, but I still receive phone calls. I tell them that I used to consider them in the future, but its never going to happen again, because of the constant harassing.

Signed up for service with TruGreen for mosquito control and was to get a callback with our scheduled date for service which never occurred. After two days, I called back to find out why we hadnt been scheduled and was told our account was somehow removed from the system. So, we signed up again hoping this time things would go well; however, we once again never received a call with our scheduled date and I needed to call them to get that information. After speaking with the representative they told me we were scheduled for Thursday, May 31...perfect. It only took a whole week to get the date scheduled but I just wanted the service completed. Thursday, May 31 at 6:30am I receive a text message that our technician was on his way and would be arriving between 8:00-9:35am...I thought great! At 4:06pm, I received a text message that the job was unable to be complete but no reason why. Once again, I found myself calling Customer Service who was unable to help (not sure why theyre called Customer Service). They were unable to tell me why it was not completed, they could not tell when it WOULD be completed, they could not speak with anyone at the local branch because theres no way to get a hold of them, they could only send email to the local branch to have them call me (...which did not work the first time because they never called me) I have yet to receive (1) phone call from the local branch and am very upset that after wasting all this time I still could not get (1) service appointment scheduled or completed. Not sure how this company makes money when service is not performed and no one knows how to call a customer back nor did they seem to care when I wanted to cancel. All I wanted was my yard sprayed for mosquito and this has wasted more time and effort than anything. If youre unable to perform a service due to issues out of your control the customer should be next on schedule when the problem is fixed...just saying. Worst service Ive ever received from a large company like TruGreen.
I have used trugreen for 3 of the last 4 years. The promise of spot treatments was a huge selling point and I have yet to see a tech between my scheduled prepaid applications, however I get sales calls every week and half telling me I need aeration, tree spraying and bug killing treatments at a substantial cost. I have kept my yard nearly 100% weed free from the time the yard was put in and have only had issues during the years I have had the service. The yard is greener after applications but the weed issue is discouraging. I use a service because I dont have the time to do it. Frustrating.

It was raining and we have pets-- so we canceled todays service. The tech came and sprayed anyways. Called customer service and they said it is fine if we let the pets out as long as we wipe their feet off when the come in. Customer service was horrible and they would not allow us to talk to a manager. I do not recommend this company.
The actual lawn service was ok. What was not ok was the salesman Dave that hung up on me when asked about pricing. Didnt like that I was asking for a lower rate. Not acceptable. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Absolutely the worst experience i could imagine. I was told that if i paid for a full year of service including the aeration (around $750) then i would see a night and day difference. I called multiple times to see what type of grass i had as each type should be cared for differently and was blown off every-time with promises for someone else to call and inform me. I asked for the number of the tech that was visiting my house so i could show the areas of concern. My grass was already green, all i was looking for was weed care and some yellow spots in areas around my house. I told them that i am home the same time everyday, which is just after noon so they could set up visits, and yet i am ignored. By the end of the first year, none of my concerns have been addressed, and i have gone all the way to the GM in the Maple Grove branch. Even he would promise to call me and work on my issues but never does. Is it soo hard to come out walk my lawn, add the concerns to my account and then have the tech pay special attention to them and leave me notes on how i can also assist. Over all i paid for many services and received many promises that i never got, and was told that refunds are not possible.
I experienced very poor customer service. My lawn was scheduled to be serviced on May 10th but nobody showed up. I called to find out what was going on and they told me I was scheduled for May 17th. I asked them to get out sooner than that because my lawn was becoming inundated with weeds. They said there was nothing they could do, I had to wait until the 17th. I asked to speak to a customer service supervisor who proceeded to tell me the same thing. I said that was unacceptable and they acted like they didnt care. There has to be a way to contact a service tech in the area and have them stop by for ten minutes. I saw a Trugreen truck at my neighbors this morning. Plus, when I asked about what happened to the originally scheduled date of the 10th, they said that was just an estimate. So they were off on their estimated service by an entire week? Once again, they just acted like they didnt really care. What are the customer service people there for if they cant do anything to improve the service? Very frustrating. I have been a customer for several years but I am considering canceling.
My appearance in my lawn has gotten better over the last 2 years since using TruGreen. My lawn prior to using TruGreen was still good but TruGreen brought it to the next level and is the best lawn in my neighborhood. Gregg my service tech is great and is extremely helpful. He acts as a consultant and will continue to use TruGreen because of him. I am very particular about my lawn and I highly recommend TruGreen.
TrueGreen Lawn Care did a great job turning my weed infested and almost dead lawn into a lush green weed free oasis. I never thought that it could look so nice. I am very happy that I chose them to service my lawn and I think that you will be too.
I called to set up mosquito service, sounded great over the phone, sold me on the Cadillac plan. They never called or showed up, I called again after a week. They acknowledged they made a mistake and we tried again. Still no call no show. I called yet again and fired them, hired someone else who was more than happy to show up, I even paid more.
Cost is very reasonable, staff in very polite and friendly and my lawn has never looked as good as it has since hiring TruGreen!
These guys have a good weed and fertilizer service, but their sales upsells on other services are non stop. They call every few weeks and its tough to get them off the phone; they wont take no for an answer easily. Then they send out sales people to my door and knock even though there is a large no soliciting sign on the door. After the sales person at my door saw I was on a conference call for work, she came back 5 minutes later and knocked again. I called them specifically to put a stop to all the upselling. If this continues I will use a different company.

I would give the Service Man an A+ for his promptness on arriving at residence and how thoroughly and quickly he completes his applications to my yard. However, I am not entirely pleased with the entire look of my lawn. My yard doesnt look any better than when I was taking care of the fertilization, etc., myself. I am somewhat disappointed with the results but will decide at the end of this year whether or not to continue with TruGreen.
We have been Tru-Green customers for more than 20 years and you have done wonders for my lawn. Always give good advice and you are very responsible about caring for the grass. We are very pleased with you help.

Tried calling customer service and they cant help me. Worthless. My lawn guy is good, however the endless solicitations from the company are crazy. Every week, I receive calls to add MORE service. Every week I am added to the no solicitation list that clearly doesnt exist. I was even signed up for service after telling them no. Pretty sure TruGreen had a class action lawsuit for that same behavior. Proceed with caution when working with TruGreen.
Even though they were the most expensive, I was going to hire them. I called in on a Saturday, talked to a sales rep. Gave him all my information. Signed up for their most comprehensive plan, created an online account and then patiently waited for someone to call me to set up an appointment as promised.... Still havent heard from anyone. Super unprofessional! I wouldnt hire now, just based on not being able to trust them.

We have experienced the worst customer service from the Maple Grove location. They call to let us know they will be servicing the lawn then never show. They will not return our calls. We prepaid for the services, BIG mistake. They have no motivation to follow through. I think a one star rating is too high.

First year was great, no complaints. This year has been the worst customer service ever. I was home on the last application and I watched the technician only do a small portion of my back yard. Cant talk to a manager. I asked the technician several questions about my lawn and he had no answers. This will be the last time I use this company, Im spending my money elsewhere. Terrible customer service. We pre paid for our service and they missed an application without notification or refund. The Maple Grove branch did not return any calls. The 800 number said we would have to talk to the MG branch to receive a refund. The lawn service isgood, but I would never pre pay again. There are other, better, more customer focused companies out there.
Absolute worst customer service and lawn care. All I wanted is for them to do is kill the dandelions. My dandelions are not distressed at all. If anything they are flourishing. Called the rep that came house to house Garrett Prill to discuss the service so far 4 times over a 10 day period but all I get is his answering service. Had another rep that was going house to house and explained my situation to him. He said he would let Garrett know and have him call me. Never got a call. Called their call center and got a run around. They said it is possable they may have missed some weeds. My yard looks like Im trying to grow dandelions. The only way they missed is if they treated the wrong yard but I did have their treated sign in my yard. DEFINITELY GOING WITH SOMEONE ELSE NEXT TIME. St. Michael customer.

I have used TruGreen for many years and have been happy with the appearance of my lawn. The techs are always very friendly and do a nice job. We have invisible fencing and sometimes our dog is outside in the yard when we are not home so we appreciate being told in advance that they are coming so we can make sure our dog is inside.

I love the deep green color of the lawn, now. Ive used TruGreen for the past 2 years and I have been impressed with the results. Weeds are virtually non-existent, even with a neighbor raising a bumper crop of dandelions every year! I cant thank TruGreen enough for the great results and timely service.

I would not recommend Maple Grove TruGreen office to anybody. By far, this has been my worst Customer Service experience ever. TruGreen was not able to accommodate basic scheduling needs. The agents are overpowering and do not listen to your request. On several occasions I asked to speak to a Manger or Supervisor and they refused to let me speak to one. They stated a Manager would call me back. Well, they dont call back and I will not go back to TruGreen for that reason. Life is too easy...and I shouldnt have to work that hard to get Manager of a Company to give a Customer a call back. Awful expierence.
THE APPPLICATIONS HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL TO KEEP MY YARD IN GOOD SHAPE. I HAVE NOT BEEN HOME DURING THE TIMES OF SERVICE BUT ARRIVING SHORTLY AFTER AND I AM VERY PLEASED WITH EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN DONE. EVEN MY NEIGHBORS COMPLIMENT ME ABOUT MY YARD. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND SERVICE
I have cancelled with TruGreen over 6 months ago and still had to cancel throughout this year by customer service who continues to call me. I still get phone calls asking when they can come out and spray my lawn. I just got another call TODAY from a guy asking when he can come out and spray. Really? Very harassing company. So very disappointed with their customer service. I would not recommend this company at all.
True Green does a good job coming out to fertilize and control the weed population. If you notice weeds crop up inbetween times, they come at no extra charge and reapply to the the problem areas -- I have had them come out a couple of times. However, what I do not like up TruGreen is that they are constantly trying to upsell you on other items: insect control, aereation, etc. I will continue to use them for lawn care, as I feel they do a good job, but I wish that they would quit their high pressure upsell tactics.
