Friends, I have already recommended you to some one.

Ive had many houses and I usually get your part time handy men because they are cheaper and they usually do a decent job, but with these guys I experienced great work. They identified and understood the problem, the quality in which they fixed it with professionalism was drastic than the cheaper alternative. When you need legitimate work these the guys to call.

Chris, the technician was very knowledgeable and was able to resolve my issue quickly. He also came on time and was professional.

A customer service rep called my company on the behalf of their customer because they were trying to find who worked on one of their appliances last. The customer was not ours and the customer service rep was nice enough, but next time type in the URL, dont click on our pay per click ad and cost us $25.17.

My sliding back door was not opening properly. Bobby B arrived on time and got right to work. Bobby showed me what was broken and told me exactly how he would fix it. Bobby fixed the door just as he said he would. Now the door slides open and closed like it was new again. Fixed it for a fair price and saved me thousands from buying an new door. Excellent job! What can I say other than the Handyman got the job done and was very friendly.

This has to be the worst company on the face of this earth. They are unprofessional and unethical on their business practices. They quote you one price and come back and charge you double or even triple. I would not recommend this company to anyone. To top things off they have incompetent people that don t know what they re doing. How can anyone hire a company where they re charging folks unfair prices and they don t know their job. MOVE ON AND SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!

We hired Mr. Handyman to install a microwave and cabinet for us, which they did very well. However, everything outside of the quality of the final product was quite stressful to navigate. We had asked multiple times if they can work within our tighter timeline and they said yes and that we could expect a final estimate in 2 days. However, we ended up having to chase them, calling multiple times and being told they would call us back and receiving no callback. After about 10 days, we received the quote and accepted, hoping they could start quickly since we were now behind our originally discussed timeline. We paid the deposit and didn t hear anything for another several days. When we followed up again, they told us they have the cabinet and just need to schedule the technician to come install it, only to then find out the cabinet was on back order and would be delayed again. I understand that s out of their control, but I really wish they had just told us what s going on and when we can expect a technician, rather than just stalling and being non-communicative. In the end the actual installation was high quality, but the back and forth was exhausting. If you re in a rush or dislike that kind of back and forth, I would maybe go with someone else.

My experience with Mr Handyman has been excellent both times Ive used them.They have been very through, near and professional. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again. Very knowledgeable and professional also prompt.

It all started when we learned that we had bees living in our basement wall. Because they are pollinators, you cant kill them so I needed a bee expert to extract the 40,000 bees (not a typo!) from my basement. There were no clues that we were harboring enough bees to produce 30 lbs of honey a year, or enough bees to field a terrifying bee army to attack our adversaries. Enter Mr. Handyman. The owner, Jo, and Chris came out and we fell in love with them. Super solid people. They gave a quote and I think the job was way bigger than they thought. Twice I offered to pay more and they refused (since the job is behind a wall and pulling down the wall unleashes and a apocalyptic swarm of bees, its hard to quote these kind of things). We did give a good tip as Chris got stung a few times. While they were here, they also fixed a caulking issue in our bathroom and did an excellent job. They clearly like people and love their job. And they do excellent work. You cant even see where they pulled down the drywall to extract the 40,000 bees (still not a typo). Jo is a former Navy aircraft maintenance officer who started the Mr. Handyman business when she retired. Her employees are actual employees (and not 1099 contractors) which is a lot more expensive for her because she pays benefits - but I like that she takes care of her team. Im so excited to have a new go-to handyman service that can do electrical, plumbing, drywall, construction, and bee extraction.

I had a project I had been delaying for approximately two years. My storm door at the front of my house had shifted and the appeared to be broken. Mr Handyman sent out Chris B. Chris was completely professional, extremely competent, and keep me appraised of the work he was going to do. He completed the work - and my door is functioning as if it was the first day! I highly recommend Chris B for work that needs to be performed. For other projects, I am sure Ill reach out to Mr Handyman again!

Bobby B. & Jerry W. did an attic stairs installation for us today, and they were awesome! It was a bit of special job because out joists run in the opposite direction than normal, which required some extra construction and made it a more difficult job. But they were fantastic -- it only took one day instead of the two days they thought it might. And Jerry even discovered a short in an electrical box that he had to move out of the way, and fixed that for us as well! I highly recommend these guys!

Service was great and our handyman, Chris, went above and beyond. He even set up a custom mount for our TV out of spare wood he had and even painted it to match the wall. It was all improvised, but it looks and works great. Very much recommended.

We are very pleased with and recommend Jerry. We had a door to fix and some electrical work that needed to be done. Technician did a good job. He was on site from around 11am until around 4:30pm. However I do think the price was high for the work involved and materials required. Also I am not sure if the military discount was applied since I do not have the invoice.

Your prices are way over inflated. I cant believe how you can take advantage people with over pricing your services. I had 2 regular sized windows that needed the bottom weather stripping replaced and the material needed was less than $100.00 and the price quoted to do the job was $1,426 and that was with a military discount. So, the labor was $1,300. Thats ridiculous and over price for one person doing the job. I definitely wont use this service again or recommend it.

We asked for a few remodeling items in the house (paint touch ups, trash can drawer repair, caulking) and Bobby did a magnificent job taking care of everything. He was professional, intentional, and precise with his work. Our family was very pleased with the results!

13 year-old home, caulking was coming apart all over the house (bathrooms, both stairwells, kitchen). Tub and shower needed regrouting in spots. Doorbell was beyond the simple fix of a switch swap. Two drain stoppers had worn out, one was stuck shut. Exhaust fan in bathroom was not functioning. Carlos arrived promptly at 8:30am, listened to our list, which grew each time we visited a new room, and provided a reasonable estimate (frankly, around $500 less than I expected). He was finished by 4:30pm. He was knowledgeable, hard-working, gave advice, and was an all-around nice guy.

Bad service. Over priced. Waste of money. Didn t even remove the previous caulking. $88 for a visit and charged $200 for 2 bathrooms. I could have gotten entire house cleaned and caulked for that price! DO NOT WASTE your MONEY. Bad service!

The Handyman cleaned 4 bird nests from my dryer outside wall he was on time and he even waited for me to get the cover for it so birds don t get in again !

Siding repair on an elevated portion of our home was done safely and efficiently. Was hard to get other contractors to take the job on.

Two years ago I gave this company a 4-star review. Now, policies have changed and they charged a total of $535 for changing the toilet valve. I didnt know it at the time but this change takes 10 min. and I could have used a handyman that charges $100 an hour and came out cheaper than using this service for my rental. Im sure I wont be the only customer they will be losing. This was a rip-off and they owe me $400.

Absolutely ridiculous! They wanted $545 to replace toilet guts. Yes, you read that correctly. They also knew upfront that I needed the hot water heater elements replaced, which I had the parts to do. The tech that was sent did not know what they were nor did he know how to replace them. Which would have resulted in a separate, even higher estimate to send someone else. I was charged an $88 trip charge since I turned down their service(s). I had no choice, who is going to pay $545 to have toilet guts replaced?! I am not sure how this place gets good reviews......

He patiently consented to handling all of my tasks and expertly scheduled so I had time to jet to the hardware store to gather the materials to complete the job. I am very appreciative for Bobbys patience as well as his skills.

I recently hired Mr. Handyman to replace water damaged deck boards and to power wash and paint a large outdoor patio. Luis was excellent to work with at every step from providing an itemized quote and great attention to detail. He went above and beyond noticing a foundational board with water damage and reinforcing it with an extra piece of wood I had on hand. I will definitely use this company in the future.

All good things to say about this company! They were quick to respond, scheduled a visit quickly and took care of repairs, doing a great job and going the extra mile. Bobby was here to help me with a tough problem of wasps getting into the window sill. I have high windows with sloping ground underneath and wasps to make things more difficult. Luis was great. He arrived right on time evaluated the situation and went off to Home Depot to secure what he needed. The seal at the bottom of the door is now fixed with no air coming into the house. He also put up a shutter that had come off. We were very pleased with all the work he did. We were almost ready to give up and pay thousands for a new patio sliding door. All the online videos made it seem so easy to lift the door out of the track and replace the rollers. But our 45-year-old monster didn t work that way! As a last gasp I did an online search and found Mr. Handyman. Literally an hour later Bob was at our door! He knew exactly how to work with our door, had it out of its track, and had the old roller out. He was proficient, competent, and successful. I will not hesitate to call next time we have a household repair to make.

I scheduled 2 electrical outlet replacements and an outside aluminum siding repair that had to be accessed from my roof. Jerry handled the electrical work and Jered worked on the siding repair. Both technicians were prompt, professional and very courteous while handling the jobs quickly. After several rescheduled appointments due to poor weather allowing safe access to the roof, I was really happy to get the jobs done efficiently today.

The whole experience with this company was professional, quality workmanship, and responsive to all of our needs. The installation of a stone wall and a new cross in our church sanctuary looks fantastic. I cannot comprehend how this business is rated so highly. They charged nearly $700 to install gutter guards and clean the gutters. I provided the materials. It took the employee 4 hours to only install them on the second floor front and back gutters. They are straight runs, no angles and approximately 50 feet long each. After the fact, I called other companies who all said they would do the same work for 50%-60% less than Mr.Handyman. The guy couldnt even finish the job and I told him there was no need to come back as I would finish it myself since they charged so much. If you have a project, call multiple companies and get quotes. Id be willing to bet youl find good quality work for a lot less than this company.

1/3/22 Months later still no new information or invoice for purchasing custom new door. Very disappointing with lack of communication and professionalism from office staff and whoever is in charge of ordering material. 10/7/21 update: service tech Chris showed up early and was pleasant to work with to get my door repair started. Once custom door is delivered and installed I will complete my review. Customer service was friendly but still waiting on a return call about door repair and installation. I contacted and sent photos of repair 9/13/21. I will update rating if I can get service and provide a review of the service.

They were communicative about timing, everything went smoothly, the handyman did a great job repairing my attic stairs - he was detailed and careful and took great care to be respectful of my space and complete the job well.

We had a mouse issue and and the pest control company advised we should get covers for the exterior vents, but said that they were too high up for them to do it themselves. Thankfully Mr Handyman was up to the job. Our technician, Kevin, did a great job procuring, cutting, painting and installing the vent covers and ensuring they looked great so that there would be no concerns from our HOA. He was very courteous and ensured that I was satisfied with how the project turned out. Thanks to his good work I would again consider Mr Handyman for future jobs.

The guy they sent out to us arrived told us it was going to take more time then they quoted me. He complained about painting told me it the fumes kill you . No one likes to paint and neither does he. He was horrible didn t even finish the wall. He spent half the time on his phone and smoking. Texted the office they didn t respond. They told me that they don t receive the texts you send through there messages. I requested to not pay the full amount. They didn t want to do that. I requested the owner name they were refusing to tell me until I told them I was contacting the franchise office. Horrible service staff rude.

Kevin Simpson, the service technician, installed the repair part I provided and retrieved the fitting I failed to acquire. He ensured the part worked as designed and ensure the installation was to my liking. Professional service.

I had a great experience with my technician Jerry. He did an amazing job painting my room from a dark blue to a bright white, and explaining step by step what needed to be done. The only issue I had was with the quote -- the estimate was HALF of the actual cost, even though I gave an accurate recount for the change of color from dark blue to white and the size of the wall. Still, Jerry was incredibly accommodating, and finished the job up quickly once he realized we were over budget, and didnt even bill me for the clean-up. My only feedback would be to provide a more accurate estimate ahead of time. I wouldve still gone with them even with a higher estimate, but would have been pleasantly surprised if the actual cost had been lower instead of double.

Chris filled in the sinkhole in our front yard perfectly. He used sand for drainage, then put in inexpensive paving stones for the bulk of the area of the hole. Bags of topsoil were added to fill in any gaps, and everything was topped off by a sod section to blend seamlessly with the lawn. It is perfect!

Joe was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough!. Ill call again!

GO OVER TO YELP FOR MORE REALISTIC REVIEWS OF THIS COMPANY! NO idea how they have over 4 stars on Google! I would give them negative stars if I could. TOTALLY unethical & dishonest! In short, AFTER PAYING THEM ALMOST $1,000, WE WERE LEFT WITH AN UNFINISHED JOB!!! The details: We were quoted approximately $1,300-1,500 to install a shower door, which they were reportedly certified to install. When the technician came to our home and looked at the door, it appeared obvious to me that he was not familiar with this door. Being concerned, I asked him at least twice about his being certified. At some point, he stated, all certified means is that you know how to do it. Fast forward a few hours...he told my husband that a piece was missing. Before leaving, he also assured my husband it would not cost double to have them come out to finish the job. After my husband called the shower door company, it turned out the part was there the entire time!!! However, when I called Mr. Handyman of Northern Virginia to reschedule, they ended up stating it was going to cost us ALOT more than the original quote to finish installing the door during this second trip. ALOT MORE!!! After many excuses given to me by a woman who I suspect was an owner of this company, we are LEFT WITH AN UNFINISHED PROJECT WE PAID ALMOST $1,000 FOR!!! AGAIN...UNETHICAL!!! DO NOT CHANCE IT WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

I guess Ive misheard the estimate over the phone, but when I was told it will cost around 3000 instead of around 900, Ive canceled the job, and had to pay $74 charge for them showing up, even so it wasnt indicated during the phone call. If you deal with them, make sure to get the estimate in writing.

Mr. Handyman came to my rescue. My washer went out in the middle of a full washer cycle. I ran to Lowes to purchase a new washer machine and called Mr. Handyman. They had a technician that happen to be in the store and he was able to pick up the washer machine and deliver it to my home. He was able to remove all of the water out of my washer machine with out making a mess. He laid protection down through out the area he was working. He removed the dead washer machine and installed my new washer and hauled away the dead washer. They are great and I will definitely be using the again.

I recently needed some cabinets repaired after water damage under my sink. I was able to call and set up an appointment on Wednesday and they showed up on Thursday. Joe showed up on time, was very communicative about everything he was doing, and did a great job. He was awesome. I d highly recommend this company.

I had a small but unusual project; I wanted the interior mechanisms and contents of two kitchen cabinets swapped. I needed to reverse locations between my kitchen trash cabinet and another cabinet to make it much easier for multiple people to work in the kitchen at the same time. As the cabinet openings were the same size, the project was simple in concept. Bobby B. maneuvered around a plumbing challenge to get everything in place. He worked around close tolerances, to make sure that nearby cabinet doors did not hit and ensured both relocated cabinet doors opened and closed smoothly. His good work was very much appreciated; my New Years Resolution project is complete!

The customer service rep I dealt with was up front about everything. There was a $75 assessment fee regardless if a fix was performed or not. She also mentioned the minimum visit cost. I decided to go with them anyway. Bobby B. was the handyman that performed the repair to my vinyl wall trim. After initial inspection, he repaired it and secured the rest of the trim. He also checked the others and pointed out potential issues with them, so I had him perform the repair on those as well. He was friendly, respectful, and he went beyond the scope of work. Overall, I am very satisfied with the how the job was completed.

Our technician was friendly and respectful. He listened to what I needed help with and adjusted the work right there on the spot. He did forget a hose which is fine bc he was able to use ours but some ppl may not have those supplies readily available. I would say all in all, the work was acceptable. Not overly impressive but worth the cost.

Reinstalled 2 rolling shades that had not been properly attached to the window frames .Leonard arrived exactly on time and we were able to track his route to our place . He was very professional and friendly , explained everything he was doing , and did a great job. He was very efficient, very careful, and very neat . Kevin was on time, professional, and openly communicated with us throughout the visit. Another vendor told us a dryer problem was a result of a completely clogged dryer vent. While there was some lint in the vent, it clearly was not the problem. Kevin showed us the vent and cleaned what was there. Since the pricing was based on a minimum of 2 hours service, Kevin also fixed my shower doors and helped me work out a solution for another issue. In addition, my experience with the schedulers has been very positive. I will be definitely be using this company again soon.

Eric B Dumfries, VA Above and beyond the normal job by Mike Kennedy (8/11 and 13 2021) Mr. Kennedy painted my outside areas of my house (shutters, over my kitchen windows and the centerpiece between my kitchen windows, my front door, over my front (overhead cantilever) door sides and bottom and replacing my front door lock and deadbolt); This was not an easy task this particular day (Wednesday) for Mr. Kennedy (trying to get the right paint to match the shutters and the door because the places where he picked up the paint had to be matched correctly and it took more time because Mr. Kennedy had to wait at these places until the right colors were mixed; caused delays than his normal day; Also after he was nearly finished with painting it was after 4pm and we had severe thunderstorms in the area; So he had to stop for the day and he came back on Friday morning to finish the job; I also had a problem with my doorknob sticking (wasn t locking right); So I bought a new one and he replaced it and the deadbolt; I thought he was going to come back later in a few weeks (so I m glad I purchased a new doorknob and deadbolt the next day before he came back on Friday); Excellent job ( I m getting great comments from my neighbors already on his work); Again I ll be using him again soon; Thanks Mr. Kennedy; Eric B Dumfries, VA

My job went over the estimated 3 day window and instead of having it continue to the next day, the next available appointment was almost a week later. I was not offered any apology or incentive for my inconvenience of an unfinished job. I was told I could be put on a list in case the original contractor was available, but I was on supposeldly on this list for the 2 week period I waited for the original appointment so I had little faith it worked/existed. Additionally, I never received invoices for any of the work. While I liked the guy that showed up to my house, part of the reason it went long was his preference to paint by hand, and when you are paying hourly, that makes a difference. I chose to find another independent contractor to finish the work at a fixed fee vs wait.

When I need something else fixed I will think of Mr. Handyman. Easy to work with!

I hired Mr. Handyman because I needed some work done to repair flooring in advance of new hardwood installation. I had a bowed floor in one room which, if not corrected, would have made the new hardwood installation impossible. My Mr. Handyman techs (Joe and Dirk) were on-time, professional, and efficient. And the work they did was perfect. A problem Ive had since I bought the house was solved and the hardwood flooring went down flawlessly on the newly flat floors. I recently moved in to a new place and needed ceiling fan removed and new light fixture installed. Kevin did a great job and also got it connected to switch that wasnt connected before. Work was poor my money was spent on him shopping at the hardware store if it was made clear, I would of bought the drywall and then maybe the work would of been better, but Im left with unfinished work and a bill of $559 for 3 hours which he was at a store for 2 of those hours and for them to come back out and finish it I would still be coming out of pocket no sir this is such a scam .

I had a new screen door replaced and new caulking installed in the shower. The technician was ontime for several visits. And the office staff (Nancy) was in frequent contact with me to keep me appraised of the progress. Pricing for the work was given to me beforehand. Costs were reasonable and in line with the estimate.

Joe was great! All our repairs look okay and he made sure to communicate and share every detail of his work! I am editing this review after less than satisfactory experiences. After our original work on our front box window was completed. The wood that was used to replace it started to come apart within a few weeks. When we called back, they sent someone out but we still had to pay for materials and pay for the work that was done incorrectly. They left the work unfinished and unpainted and we had to wait a few weeks for someone to come back. We also wanted our rake-board done with the original work and it never was completed. They took forever to finish work and never completed anything in the estimated time frame. We spent triple the cost because they never gave us any discount. We will find another company.

I truly have no idea how this company is rated so high. Had small cracks in the drywall and it took three visits and we will have to repaint every section of our house they touched because the guy didn t bother to test the paint and just used the one he thought looked right. We re not even calling them to come fix it because we cannot deal with another person in our house for another day. The walls look worse than when we started.

Happy with the service provided. Just tends to be a bit pricey and you cant count on the scheduled arrival.
