SavATree - Tree Service & Lawn Care in Mamaroneck

This is our 3rd feeding of our mature trees. They look terrific! Such pleasant employees. Always good communication about when and what service will be done.

October 29, 2024 For some reason I cannot leave a second review for the same company so, I am adding an updated review to the one I originally wrote previously: I highly recommend SavATree (Mamaroneck, NY) as the one and only tree service company! We have used them for several years as our River Birch trees happily and consistently grow out of control each summer. Scot Boyce and his team, Alex, Walter and Emilio are true experts and always cut back the birches in the most pristine and natural way. Additionally, Scot and the guys are extremely pleasant, responsive, meticulously neat and always professional. I only wish I had more trees in my yard for them to maintain! :) Scot Boyce and the tree team who have been servicing our trees the last few years are nothing short of spectacular. No matter how out of control our River Birches become, the guys cut them back in the most natural way! Scot is always responsive and communicates clearly, without rushing, to be sure everyone is on the same page with the work to be done. I highly recommend Scot and Sav A Tree whole heartedly for any and all tree trimming and pruning.

The crew who came were amazing. They trimmed all the trees and made sure I was pleased with the amount of growth removed. They made sure everything was cleaned up and removed before they left.

Great experience from first meeting to review what needed to be done, through getting an estimate, scheduling the work and through the actual work and follow-up to make sure we were happy (we were!). Highly recommend!!

The office Manager ( Adam) and crew( Manny, Steven, and Regino) did a fantastic job taking down a tree limb that was hanging over my neighbors property, extremely hard location, but Manny climbed right up and made short work of it, they were careful and cleaned up nice after the job, very professional and hardworking, Save a tree has always been there for me when I needed them, I highly recommend them for your next project.

SavATree saved two of our flowering trees in the front yard (A Cherry Tree and a Flowering Crapapple) this month. Juliet came to our house promptly, diagnosed the problem, called me the same day (I was out during her visit), and arranged to have the trees treated within a few days. She gave me a very detailed explanation describing what was ailing our two beautiful trees, and the description was provided in terms a layperson like myself could actually understand. SavATree has set up a 3-part annual treatment plan to keep the trees healthy, and their fees are reasonable. its worth noting that I had previously left a voicemail three times with one of SavATrees competitors in our area, and never received a return phone call. SavATree has earned our business!

We had a dead elm removed from our property on 10/27/2023 and we could not be happier with the tree removal company SavATree. I recommend anyone who has a dead tree on your property give them a call and Alessandra, a professional Arborist or Tameca or Nicole in the office will handle your situation with the utmost care. Give SavATree a call you will not be disappointed and the crew of four men who removed our tree in a difficult location were professional, very neat, friendly and answered any question that was asked of them. Let me add that Adam, operations manger is a real professional and on point!!

On 5/31/24 Victor Cueva did a treatment for our crabapple bush. He was courteous, and had patience when answering our questions. We found him to be a very knowledgeable and dedicated worker. We thought he did an excellent job. We liked him so much that we are requesting that whenever you do services to our property, you send Victor. We are very satisfied with SavaTrees plan to solve the problems we have with our property. We will continue to discuss with you the progress these treatments are making.

The recent spate of extreme weather events has been giving our lovely old Sweetgum tree a beating. Ross and his team have been doing a superior job of keeping the tree healthy and safe. Marvelous to have Ross and his guys show up on time, work diligently and leave our property spic and span after they are done.

Ross and his team are great arborists, and have been looking after the trees in our yard for years now. They always do a wonderful job when it comes to carefully pruning the old magnolias we have out the back. Highly recommend.

Working with Scot the arborist at Save a Tree is the best service you can ask for. He is available to talk to and listens to what needs to be done. The office girls are efficient, and very nice to speak with. Scots climbing crew is impressive to watch and work quickly. I cant say enough about the whole Save A Tree staff its impressive.

First time using SavATree and it certainly wont be my last. Scot was a true professional - showed up when promised, performed a comprehensive review of our property, made a series of recommendations and ultimately worked with us to scope a project that made sense to us. No hard selling tactics or the like. The crews showed up when scheduled, worked efficiently and left the property in better condition than they found it. Overall, a great customer experience. You get what you pay for - dont waste your time working with less experienced and less professional people.

We had the EXACT same issue as Jake Amarani above. Green Keepers is way better and charge way less. Awful! Oh no. We used you guys. We also called you about the issue and you refused to do anything about it. We won t be using you again. Next year we will hire a tree company that won t tell us they re creating pockets of light and did absolutely nothing. What a racket!

We are using Savatree to treat our lawn and trees and are very satisfied with the level of care they have provided. Our arborvitae trees have grown with great color along with our lawn and we believe the treatment from Savatree has been really beneficial to it. Ross came out to our property and gave us detailed information on how to best care for our lawn and trees and did not push anything unnecessary on us. His insight and professionalism made us feel very satisfied with using the business. We would definitely recommend them if you are trying to protect your lawn and garden and the investment you have made into them.

I recently had 4 trees removed by SavATree (victims of the dreaded Emerald Ash Borer). I was impressed by SavATRee at every turn. I called a few companies: one never called me back, another told me they were booked for months out and hung up on me, and I had a very professional call with a SavATree who sent someone out within a week. Scot Boyce led the project for SavATree, who was a pleasure to work with. He explained what was going on with my trees, heard me on my concerns, and took me through the project. I was away from my home during Hurricane Ida, and Scot even stopped by the house to check on things for me! One of my trees has a treehouse I built for my kids, and Scot figured out a way to (safely) keep the treehouse in place while removing the rest of the tree. The removal crew was on time, professional, very respectful to minimize disruption of my neighbors, and clearly experienced professionals who made swift work of a pretty major job. This is a top notch operation!

Ross, John, Carlos, and Johnny did a great job thinning out some overgrown pines, and removing a dead, 40 foot tree from our property. Ross is super knowledgable, thorough, professional, and very easy to work with. The crew came in promptly and was friendly and super impressive in their skill and efficiency. Rafael came separately to do some borer spraying and was also very friendly and professional. A really nice group to work with and competitively-priced. Will use them again in the future.

I highly recommend Ross and the SavATree team. Ive used their services multiple times for tree trimming and pruning, cabling, and disease treatment. As licensed Arborists, their knowledge and expertise is extremely valuable. In my experience, they only recommend what is needed which is speaks to their professionalism. The crews are equally impressive with great attention to detail and safety while being extremely efficient in their process.

I have a tree that is in bad shape. He looked at the leaves and said looks good. NO it did not i show home the problem with the trunk. He said he had no idea what was wrong with me tree but he would talk to the others at the office and get back to me. Nope that didnt happen. I had to call them and was told no one know what was wrong with me tree nor did they want to help me with it Asked about a stump removal. They were going to come in and grind the stump out which we could replant a new tree. That did not happen but i was charged for it.

Ross Jeffrey is always helpful and informative. He takes time to explain and is very knowledgable. I just had large trees trimmed and the job went smoothly and seamlessly. We even found a local nature preserve to accept my wood chips!

Needed some limbs trimmed on old maple tree. They showed up on time and and tried to sell me all sorts of other services--lawn care, root rejuvenation, mosquito and tick control and asked to walk around the property to see if there was anything might need to be done. Was told they would write up an estimate in the car and get back to me in a few minutes. They came back and told me they were uncomfortable trimming the limbs because it was too close to power lines, which is why I called them in the first place. Anyway I called smaller local guy he trimmed the limbs in a couple of days. Thanks for wasting my time SavATree

The arborists at SavATree are quite knowledgeable. Not just salespeople, they are horticulturists, and tree disease specialists. I recommend them to my landscape design clients when I need expert care and pruning of large trees and mature shrubs. I also use them on my own property, probably the best indication of my confidence in the company.

In April, I hired them to treat 2 trees in my backyard. Since it involved some trimming, I asked them to also trim a healthy mesquite in my front yard. I specified that the mesquite had to be cut back off the house. They left branches hanging over the roof. Four months later, we noticed critters in our bathroom. The exterminator pointed to the mesquite branches that were now laying on the roof. The gal from Savatree told me they couldnt cut back all the branches near the house because there would be too much weight toward the street. She then sent me an estimate to trim the tree, again, for $600 on top of the $900 I paid them to trim the 3 trees in April. She said they would have to balance the tree by cutting more near the street, something every other trimming company has done in the past for a lot less than $600. Im going back to the service I used in the past and will use another company for fertilizing and pesticide.

They are the vert best and very professional.

Worst EVER. Only advice that company ever gives: Take the tree down. Thats how they make the most money... If you want to cut it all thats the company for you. If you care about the environement, I would suggest you consult others. Not all trees are dying.
