They have been applying pesticides at my apartment way more frequently than even their website says to, which has led to me finding dead animals in the lawn. They also do not clearly label which areas have been treated

This company put an application on my yard without my permission. My yard is full of pollinators gardens and I am extremely upset. I still havent heard back from the company!update, All of the new grass that we had planted died from the True Green application. And after finally talking to a human at True Green, I was told to go ahead and take us to court, we have lots of lawyers. At least I filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture.

Easy service and free in-between visits for stubborn weeds if you need. The salesperson, phone reps, and field techs have all been very friendly and I am glad I came back!

I ve been very happy with service from True Green for many years. They re professional & thorough & have revisited when asked for no extra charge. My lawn looks great as well as my trees and shrubs.

We are giving TruGreen one more chance. We had them aerate and overseed in the fall and they came way too late in the season and it was a waste of $600 plus. We usually have to have the grass cut once by now and our lawn looks terrible. It never fails they come so late in the season for the last treatment I feel it is a waste of money. I think it is a waste doesn t help the lawn. If it happens again this year I m done and will find another service.

I like that the yard has greatly improved after a year of their service and continued it again this year. My reason for the 3 stars is the constant trying to upsale. Any call that Ive had from them was them trying to sell me something new. So, I no longer answer them and have blocked a lot of their reps numbers. Edit/update: recently canceled service, just due to cost. If you can afford them and can deal with the constant telemarketing; its a great service. However, I didnt like the fact that you have to call to cancel, rather than call to continue. Otherwise, service will continue whether you want it or not. Also, canceling service should remove you from the calling list rather than increase the frequency of telemarketing. This does not make me want to consider choosing the service again. Just saying.

Second year we are using TruGreen. I appreciate the notice that they are coming. Also recommendations for what else we can do to help improve the lawn.

I went on line to see their prices, got a call back for a quote, DECLINED theor services and the will NOT STOP calling me. Its all hours of the day from different phone number. The telemarketing from these people is ridiculous

They never show up for treatments on their scheduled dates. Ive struggled all year long in 2022 calling them multiple times to come. Yesterday they were supposed to come but did not. I called them to reschedule for the day after. THEY STILL DIDNT SHOW UP! Called them again and they pushed me back a week when yesterday they said tomorrow. Not playing games this year. Canceled.

True green of Madison sprayed my lawn with insecticide without my permission. I don t even have a contract with them trying to get a hold of someone to speak to locally is impossible.

I gave them a second chance and after 2 weeks of calling and no one showing up I canceled. This company does not care about the customer!!!

Delayed service and overpriced compared to competitors. Also damaged lawn last year and claimed it was from grubs. It was the concentrate for weeds spot treatment not grubs

I tried multiple times to get a quote, and I was unable to do so. A call with the main customer service center yielded no exact number. They just asked me to schedule a service with no idea what the price actually would be. Two different people called me after that saying they would give me a lower price than originally quoted although I never received a number in the first place. The implication was that the main corporate center price gouged. That involved four to five calls. Nothing came of it. No quote. I finally called the main service center again thinking there was quote based on my interactions with the other callers, but they in turn did not have one. The indication was that a person would have to come out to do the measuring of the property. I gave up. Wanted to give this company a chance, but I ended up wasting a lot of time. Very perplexing.

Its been getting overly expensive over the last few years. Customer service is very slow, but effective once you can get ahold of them. I enjoy they dont charge for additional applications if Im unhappy with the last service. For example, I still had dandelions after a week since my service and they came out for free to focus on the dandelions. Overall the grass looks great, which is why I give it 4 stars.

Overall my lawn has improved from using their service. However, there is a glaring issue with some techs. Multiple times I observed technicians visiting the property and doing no service. Flags were still put down and my receipt claimed service was done but no service done. If theres nothing to be done, I could understand that, but dont claim to do a thing that isnt done, that consumes one of my service visits with no benefit. Extremely disappointed. The first time it happened I chalked it up to a tech maybe having a long day. The second time.. nah... Im not paying for this.

My lawn is much thicker than it was 4 years ago with a lot less weeds. There is no hassle to deal with when they come, just a text notification or two. The one thing I am disappointed in is the amount of crab grass that continues to get overlooked and the dandelions that grow in the rocks.

Very poor customer service and scheduling. Impossible to talk with someone who can actually help or listen. We only got through one application of our full year of service and will be canceling. Would have been a customer for life if they could just show up when they say and and do what they say.

These people hire the most incompetent, inexperienced, and impersonal staff ever. If youre looking for a personal touch for your lawn care, TruGreen aint it. Our neighbor uses TrueGreen, but we use a local company. TruGreen mistakenly sprayed pesticides on our lawn the same day our local guy sprayed our lawn, overstressing the lawn during a very stressful heat/drought year. The kicker is, the slip they left in our door even had our neighbors address on it, and our address was in giant numbers right by the door they left the slip in. So how you screw that up outside of gross incompetence is beyond me. Seriously, these guys are a menace to local neighborhoods.

They cancelled. Then when I called a different technician was assigned but no date or time was available, just that it would be Noah. He came and applied to the area indicated. Your scheduling is terrible.

Some services that they were done were never completed. Customer service. often rude and would enter inaccurate services to be done. Mosquito program was expensive and did not work. Told the shrub person was schedling one time service but actually put in for the next year. Today professional woman (Elaine )called. Advisud her I wanted a cancellation of all services as of November 1. I

Ive been having trugreen treat my lawn for 21 years they have done a great job And now a number of my neighbors are also using them.

Called because are scheduled service was 3 days late. Our lawn had many weeds. Was told we would get our application within 3 business days, which did not include weekend. We have been customers for at least 10 years and couldnt be moved up to a sooner date. The cost is still the same. Thanks.

Trugreen keeps spraying our yard but we do not have a contract with them. Our address is similar to the one on the bill they leave in the door, but that house is on the next block. The driver must be reading it wrong. We dont spray our yard and have small children and pets and this makes it so that we cant use our yard for a couple days after they do this. Im sick of it. The latest twist is that, after we called several times to complain, they completely misunderstood and CHANGED THE ADDRESS on the other peoples account to ours! So the bills they leave in our door now have the other persons name on them and our house number. I cant understand why Trugreen cant fix this and cant understand that we dont want them on our property and dont want them spraying here. Never mind that the people who have hired them arent getting their service.

I am not a customer of TruGreen however my neighbor is, and someone down the street with an address 1 digit off from mine is, and their worker sprayed my lawn by mistake. I called the number on the receipt left in my mailbox and was directed via phone tree to customer support somewhere outside of Wisconsin, I explained the error and they said they would make note of this and have local office call me. I received no call for a week. Today my lawn was sprayed, AGAIN. I am not a customer, however now the account lists my address even though the name on the account is not mine. I again tried to reach out to the local branch and was corporately navigated through a phone tree to someone who could not put me in touch with the local office. The local supervisor is David Kunesh. David, if you read this please call me so we can sort this out. For anyone thinking of using TruGreen I would ask you to reconsider because their customer service and attention to issues is sorely lacking.

Signed up for two home locations needing very different services. The same generic treatment was done to both and when I called to request service to the one needing more tlc, they stood me up. Then I called to cancel and they conveniently hung up on me twice. Never again! Unbelievable!

My last service was May 25th. It is now August. Trying to get information from their customer service isnt easy. Why is the wait time between applications over 2 months? Do they not think that weeds grow in that time? They do. I am not happy.

They would come and throw a handful of fertilizer in a few spots and then leave. The amount of time they were at our house was between 2-5 minutes. We called to complain and nothing happened. Finally cancelled after the third visit with no improvement.

Timely early retreatment for mosquito control prior to an outdoor event at our home. Very much appreciated.

Responsive and not pushy.

You arent getting much from them. I prepaid for the full service year and my yard has looked exactly the same. Interestingly, my cameras at my house only ever pick up them sitting in the car and then putting flags in the four corners of the yard. The lawn advice they give is chosen from a pick list of bullets that may or may not apply to your yard. They dont say anything that is specific to your yard in their advice. The first time they came out, they completely missed the biggest issue in my yard which resulted in me calling and asking for advice for which they just sent someone back out to pick more pre-written bullets.

Mosquitoe area treatment

Like the review below, I am not a TruGreen customer. My neighbor uses TruGreen, I use another company. 3 times in a 5 week period, I came home to find a notice hanging on my front door and signs in my front yard notifying me that TruGreen had fertilized my yard. I am concerned as I had my own fertilizer company treating my yard. I have called the local phone number listed on the receipts, however, I always get someone in Chicago who is unable to transfer me or assist. They always say Ill get a call back, but I never receive one. If anyone knows who runs the Madison location and has their phone number I would appreciate it. I would never recommend this company. Their service is horrible.

Very conscientious at first, but the quality of service slowly eroded, as well as the appearance of my yard. After multiple flowers were killed with herbicide, I finally had to cancel my service.

this year calling Truegreen asking for the price of year lawn service. The truegreen agent hang up my phone with no answer. It is not very pleasant. So will change service.

We didnt sign up for their services, so we were shocked when there was a technician seeding and spraying our lawn. After we told him to stop, we didnt pay for this, he confirmed the address and that the PREVIOUS OWNERS had paid for this service. Called customer service to request they cancel services as WE, THE OWNERS dont want the services, and they refused. Meanwhile, because its not our service, they cant tell us what they just sprayed on our lawn or if its safe for our pets. Had the tech just knocked before starting service, this whole thing could have been avoided. Not listening to the actual owners regarding service is absolute garbage business dealings.

Next to impossible to get ahold of to make changes to your account. The app does not always work...long hold times over the phone.

The dandelions that became a blanket of yellow in spring were gone by June. Next year Ill see how well the aeration, overseeding and fertilization did on the lawn.

We called to get the Mosquito Defense + TruShield. We were given a quote that was decently priced and began to make payment before the call was disconnected. We call back seconds later and they arent able to transfer us to a new person or use that quote, not a big deal- surely it will be the same price right? No. They quote us for the same service, yard size actually smaller because the new rep thought it was smaller than the first one did and it was over 200 dollars more. We say never mind, call back a third time to see if maybe we can get the same quote again. No, this new quote is cheaper. Dont get me wrong, Im certainly happy about the cheaper price but they seriously need to figure their stuff out. The inconsistency is awful. Once we check out and make payment they tell us someone will either be out at our house or at least contact us within 10 days. Thats the 7th of April. Its now the 30th and havent heard anything. Phones were a 2.5 hour hold time (according to their system) so I reach out via chat, it was about a 45-50 minute hold time but was able to finally reach someone. They advised that the Mosquito Defense + TruShield doesnt even open up until 5/10/21. That would have been nice to know. Overall: Horrible inconsistency with quoting Some very very poor customer service with some reps (a couple were good) Horrible communication Certainly wont be going with them again. p.s watch out for auto renewals. They dont tell you upon signing up that it auto renews and you have to actually reach out to them at the time it would renew to prevent them from charging you. Just learned this when asking the chat rep today.

Subscribed to their services all of last year, to which they only stunted the weeds. I originally cancelled my services before this year, but was offered a discounted rate to come back with a guarantee I won t have weeds this time and with a dedicated account manager I could reach directly any time during business hours. They applied pre-emerge 2 months too late, which was completely useless because all the spring weeds were already germinated and thriving. Additionally my dedicated account manager had his phone disconnected after my first service. Decided to cancel (after a 3hr hold time) and do the work myself. Had all of the weeds burnt to a crisp after 2 sprays with a hand sprayer at the labeled rate.....what were they charging me for, for an entire year to not even kill basic weeds? Poor performance and customer service for a mediocre price. Skip Trugreen, do some research and do the work yourself for cheaper and with better results.

I just started using their service (paid in advance for the season) and cannot really comment on the quality yet, but this is in regards to customer service. I was working from home when they applied the first application and it was supposed to only be for the front yard, but they did the back, too. I have service scheduled today and tried calling to confirm they only put the weed control in the front (I have dogs and their toys are all over the back yard), but cannot get a real person on the phone! Customer service is important to me, so I already know I wont be using them next year.

I am very frustrated. It has been 2 months, and they have not touched my backyard. The weeds are taller than 1 foot back there. They reschedule without notifying, then still do not show up. Free unlimited visits between scheduled calls, HA! I have not received one yet, and my lawn is a MESS. Spencer, my contact, is full of empty promises. I will NEVER use this company again.

If you have a problem, you cannot speak to management. . When I told them to postpone my service, they did it anyway. We are in the midst of a severe drought. We were not home to water after the service. That is why I wanted to postpone the service. By ignoring my request,TruGreen ruined the lawn I worked hard to keep nice. Horrible customer service. All you get are excuses, not action. We have been customers for over a decade. That means nothing to these folks. Im sure there are other companies that would take our money and provide the services we ask for . FYI. Dont tell me to email you at TruGreen. I want to speak to a live human. Very happy, our sales guy James has been very responsive with all our needs. I started with the 7 treatment lawn package this year. The weeds are nearly gone now and it has thickened up quite a bit despite our lack of rain. The dogs were out the last time they came to do the service and Tru Green called and asked if we would put them inside. We did and they got it done.

I switched to TruGreen because my neighbor, who had lots of issues with her lawn started using them 3 years ago. The yard is 100% better. In the meantime, no matter who I used or what I did, mine seemed to just go downhill. TruGreen came, explained what they recommended and why for a very reasonable price. After one season, I am already impressed with the positive change. Id recommend anyone to use TruGreen.

Called looking for a quote for several properties. Completely unwilling to negotiate or earn my business. Instead, they just ended the call.

How about paying for a number of services and once the services were completed, to call customer during winter time to offer continuing services? I said I will call once I see the grass grow and assess whether I need the service or not.... March comes and they came to my house to apply the service without being requested or authorized.... the difference this time, they applied it only in the front yard and not in the back yard. It was strange, I thought it was a service pending from previous purchase. Guess what? I received a bill.... tricky, they continued service because I never call to cancel but they didn t apply it in the back yard because they know it would be trespassing!!!!!

DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE THE WORST. I have called in twice requesting a supervisor and both times they tell me because they work at home they have to have someone call me and that has never happened. I paid good money for the stupid mosquito spray that doesnt work unless they spray it 3+ times a month and theyre not even spraying the right house! I dont know how these people stay in business, Weed Man Lawn Care is such a better service to go with.

Wont meet their promise. And most importantly, full of traps. Last year, I was trying to fix a bald spot on my lawn. A sale representative of Trugreen approached me and suggested that their TruComplete will fix that, and they guarantee their work. So I paid one year of service and hoped for good. After one year, my real state agent told me that the spot is still there(I moved to CA). I contact the company about it since they guarantee their work. No reply. Instead, they continued their useless routine work and continued to charge me money. So probably thats how they guarantee their work--they will work on it, until you cancel their service. Stay away from this company. Its a waste of money.

I purchased a lawn treatment plan and, in order to get a discount, I made the mistake to pay in advance for it. The current visit for this month was supposed to take place in the first few days of the month and still hasnt been made. The lawn is full of weeds and to make the things worse, I called the local number today and this woman was completely unresponsive to my questions. Very poor service.

Horrible service! I prepaid over $500 for seasonal weed control and fertilization. My lawn still has weeds after six months of treatments. They didn t overseed after aeration, so I called to complain. They said someone would call me. Never happened. Then they show up a few days later to overseed, only to take $99.22 out of my checking account! I Prepaid! Completely dishonest crooks! Save yourself a lot of headaches and DO NOT use this service. They will also lie to you about coming over the same day to treat your lawn if you find any problems. They just put it off until the next scheduled application! I ve had better luck spending less than $100 on supplies and treating the lawn myself. Terrible!!

Have taken very good care of our trees and bushes for 15+ years

I signed up for the TruComplete lawn plan and had several fertilizer treatments throughout the year. Their app is nice because it shows you when they are planning to come and they are good about telling you what they did while they were here. On more than one occasion I was home when they came, however they never knocked on the door or rang the door bell. They just showed up, did what they came to do, then left a note on the door saying Im sorry we missed each other today. I knocked on your door when I arrived. It bothered me that they would lie about something so silly.

TruGreen sprayed our lawn unauthorized and unrequested twice. The requested service was for a house on a different street and they somehow sprayed ours instead. Called customer service after the first incident, but it did not prevent it from happening a second time.

The service was horrible. Called 4 times and all times no once called me back. Once I cancelled service.. ask of a sudden im getting calls. Too late

It seems too good to be true, but we have actually not had a single mosquito since our first treatment. Completely worth the money to be able to enjoy the outdoors in the evening.

TruGreen has been over billing us all summer. They sent us this wonderful deal to prepay last fall, and then tried to bill us every month this spring and summer. We call every month to clear it up, and now the company is saying the deal did not exist, but was a pot to draw from for the lawn treatments. We have paperwork to show otherwise, but that isn t stopping the billing. They claim they treated our lawn in months when they did not last fall, also. We do not recommend.

For the most part, I am satisfied with Trugreens lawn and mosquito service. Yet, absolutely hate the many many many sales calls for other services. They literally spam call you with their additional services, to the point I want to cancel all services and block them forever! Please, I signed up for and happy with the service that I have. If I want additional services, I will call you!

I had contracted with TruGreen for two lawn weed control applications. The first one was done in April and was quite uneven with weeds left growing around landscaped areas. I didnt make an issue of it...as only one service and I assumed the next one would be better. They next wanted to do a specific date in July and my front lawn was a swamp from heavy rains so I asked them to reschedule for a later date. I called in August to see when the second service might be and was told they canceled my service when I rejected the July date. Just as well I guess but really very unprofessional.

We are very happy with the care you are giving our yard. It looks better than it has for years. Green and full grass where it has had problems in the past. Your guys are very polite, friendly, answer any questions we have, and very efficient. Keep up the good work.

The specialists are friendly & helpful. They do a good job on my lawn. I am informed of when to expect service and they usually show when scheduled. I appreciate any knowledge that they can provide concerning my lawn. I think that the value is there for what I am being charged but I really do not want to see any increase in fees.

They generally do a great job getting rid of weeds and making your grass grow so fast you have to mow it twice a week. If you just want to pay for their set plans and forget about it they are perfect for you. I have issues with their sales/business practices. They auto renew even if you didnt go with one of their normal plans. If you want fewer treatments to either save money or reduce how much you have to mow they will most likely forget/ignore the request, treating your lawn and charging you according to one of their normal plans. They will also have persistent spam calls from other trugreen services such as roof insulation and tree care. Again, if you just want to toss them your credit card and forget about it they are perfect other than the spam calls, they are a nightmare to work with if you are looking for anything more customized.

They are very accommodation and great to work with.

The worst company ever, they overpromised results, I prepaid a yearly service, they dont show up and they billed you anyway, I complain to the Regional Manager and general manager for ruining my lawn, they never call me back, I contacted my Attorney to resolve this fraud, Im hiring the lawn DR to fixed what true green did to my lawn....

This company is horrible. They never sprayed the weeds in the backyard. They told me my first treatment would cost $29.95 and I received a bill for over $130.00. I would not recommend them to anyone - ever!!! I couldnt give 0 stars so I gave 1, but they dont deserve even 1.

This was the biggest waste of money. I paid for the weed removal they couldnt do but luckily they gave me a refund - I had to send the manager a picture of my yard! and the mosquito treatment is a joke - they are swarming and I had to cover myself in deet! Just called to complain again! Waste of hundreds of dollars just to have to put on tons of bug spray anyway! Dont waste your money!

The appearance of our lawn has greatly improved--color, density of grass, weed control. We have been extremely satisfied with the different professionals that have serviced the lawn.

I was extremely disappointed that Tru Green scheduled a service on my lawn. Two or three weeks ago, I advised the representative that was calling that I was not happy with the results from the 4 applications on my lawn last year. I received a voice message that Tru Green had scheduled a service on Monday. Luckily, I was home at the time the Tru Green service driver arrived and advised them I had not requested lawn service, in fact, I had advised the representative who called I was not interested for this year. They did not service the lawn. Today, I received an email thanking me for contracting them and that I would be billed. I called the Tru Green number, spoke to Mai and she took the request to charge off the account -- which was never received. I will not be using Tru Green again.

We had great results our first year with a much greener and thicker lawn. We learned simple little ideas from our Tru Green specialist that we easily could do ourselves. One idea was to not mow our lawn so short.The second year we added the tree and shrub care. Thank you! Please come up with a plan to help prevent moles. Maybe some kind of extensive grub control? The professional staff are always so polite.

TruGreen does a great job of controlling the weeds and other non-grass plants from spreading in my yard. They show up on the day they say they will and the times Ive been able to talk to the specialist they have been very very friendly.

The lawn looks better, the weeds are under control. The services were completed as expected. I received an automated call prior to each service, which was helpful so I could arrange access.

TruGreen always does a great job. Not only does my lawn look lush and green; their customer service is excellent! They always call to let me know they are coming and they service the lawn quickly and quietly. I would recommend them to anyone.

The came on 7/10 and did a regularly scheduled application. By 7/13 my lawn started to turn brown, application on 7/10 was a new employee and he did it incorrectly. She said she was sorry that it happened, thats it. I then called tru green talked to someone named Rich, he said he was a manager. I told him how upset I was about what Stephanie had told me. He said people made mistakes, it happens, he said. He said he would send a supervisor out to look at the damage they in spots. I called tru gree and it took them until today to send someone out to look at what was done. The tru green representative, Stephanie Leverington, advised me that the individual who did the had caused. Thereafter, a supervisor came to my house and by telephone he confirmed what Stephanie had told me. He said the lawn should be fine by August, that I just needed to water my lawn 10 min every day. No offer to reimburse me for the cost of the application, nothing, just that I needed to water every day at my expense, for my time and the cost of the water. I am outraged at their behavior and I will never use their service again.

Be prepared to be on hold and transferred several times to get someone out to spot treat weeds. Wont use them again. Oh, last call I was hung up on.

Nothing but problems. constantly having to call them for mistakes on all 3 of my properties. Every time they come out, they send someone new and I have to call for a return service. Not to mention them calling me for payment all the time, even after I paid in advance. I have had them for a number of years and it just keeps getting worse. Next year, I will be using someone else.

The lawn looked great. The specialist was timely, he was very courtous and friendly. He was very professional. He always does a good job. We are always getting compliments on our yard.

My last TruGreen service was for pest control. My specialist, Tom Cenite, took the time to discuss the application with me. We chatted briefly about ants, mosquitos, grubs, and Japanese beetles. I was able to point out that all of those pests seemed much better this year, due to past years pest control service. We also discussed specifics of the application. Tom finished the spraying in no time at all. I am extremely happy with my TruGreen service, both pest control and regular lawn service. I can only wish that my neighbors would use TruGreen.

This was a good year, our lawn looked great all year long. We had a little problem with weeds but they were taken care of and I believe there was only one reapplication. Overall we were completely satisfied. Always on time, knowledgeable, and professional.
