I have had Whatcom Lawns help me with my lawn, sprinkler system, landscape needs and removal of a large tree and dead bushes. Each time the people involved were courteous, friendly, completing the needed jobs, with the removed and cleaning up the area they were working. I highly recommend Whatcom Lawns and will continue to rely on their expertise in keeping my lawn healthy and well maintained.

I ve used this business for many years and written and them reviews before. How ever recently I had even more cause to love them. I had a minor question. I called one afternoon and their quality control guy, Brian was out the next day. He touched up the Moss control, and seeded areas that were above and beyond what they needed to do. Why I illustrate this is that you will always get more than you expect from them, quickly, and with a smile. Can t say enough about this group if you re looking for a lawn organization

No follow through. Had Whatcom Lawns mainly keeping our lawn and brush down on under a half acre, edging. A little rugged but Steve said it was manageable. Started work on our property mid summer. Checked in w/Steve in Fall about random things that weren t happening. He assured they would follow through. In fall/winter they would show up for 4 minutes twice a month. Checked in with Steve in Spring and he came over to check out lawn. Told us crew should have been doing xyz and hadn t been and that he d take care of things. Emailed him after meeting to confirm the tasks he said in person they would do and instead of confirming (made it sound like it wasn t worth his time to even respond to our email), he cut our property from his list. Felt taken advantage of for the monthly price (750) we paid over fall/winter just to be cut right before summer especially when they didn t keep up with entire lawn. Poor communication and no follow through.. almost like Steve would say yes to us but instructions never made it to the crew. He ended up being pretty rude over email, very old school you re the problem vibes instead of taking accountability. Wouldn t recommend for homeowners.

What a fantastic job your crew did on my home landscaping. I haven t been able to trim all my bushes nor get rid of the pesky wild blackberry bushes that have been chocking out the other plants. But your crew swooped in and in a matter of hours everything was taken care of and cleaned up beautifully. Thank you for such excellent, caring work.

We had Whatcom Lawns come out to trim up a couple of long arborvitae hedges. They arrived on time on the day agreed upon and completed the job in a timely manner. We had this same hedge trimmed a couple of years ago by a different company and there is no comparison. Whatcom Lawns job quality is much more professional. The hedge is straight, and the clean-up complete. If I had to use one word to describe the job done by Whatcom Lawns, it would be, perfection. We will definitely have them back in the future.

I waited a while to write this review, but I think Whatcom Lawns is the real deal! When I bought my house, the backyard was a blanket of weeds. I had no idea how Id ever have anything resembling a lawn back there, but from the day I met Steve, Whatcom Lawns was friendly, professional, responsive, and mindful of the watersheds special considerations. After a year of yard treatments, I am now the proud (and honestly, kind of astonished) owner of a nearly dandelion-free yard. I wouldnt hesitate to work with Whatcom Lawns again.

We moved to Bellingham eight months ago to a home with a half an acre of yard and irrigation, after more than 30 years of living in a condo with virtually no yard responsibilities. Whatcom Lawns helped us prepare for the season changes with our irrigation system. Their onsite technician Chris is an outstanding educator; very patient, kind and knowledgeable. He is willing to research your property and make sure you are taken care of properly. We would highly recommend him!

Our HOA has been using this company for approx 4yrs. and despite our consistant communication with them their lawn care service is far from acceptable. Areas go un-mowed, trimming, or lack thereof, is non-existent, and our gardens always have the blown trimmings from the grass on them week after week.

They came out to help us with our sprinkler system. Not only did they fix exactly what we needed but they gave us advise for the future and helped educate us further on our system that we didnt have much knowledge about. HIGHLY recommend this company becuase they were nice, on time, fair pricing, and all around great local company. Thank you guys!!!!

The crew has done a lot of different jobs for me this year and Im pleased with all they have done. They are very patient with me, I ask a lot of questions and will probably never learn how to program my sprinkler system, but they put up with me. Im grateful to have them available for all the tasks this year and those to come.

My wife and I recently decided to have an irrigation system installed to cover our entire yard which consists of trees, hundreds of plants, as well as a small grass backyard measuring 40 x 30 . For the past 3 years, I have been manually moving sprinklers around the yard. Although I had the watering system down to a science, it took me close to 4 hours to water the entire yard. This included using two spigots simultaneously, multiple 100 foot hoses, setting up sprinkles on buckets to reach over some taller plants, and then putting everything away after the watering was done. I couldn t go on vacation during the summer because I had to be at home to water my extensive landscaping. I called Whatcom Lawns since they have been maintaining (mow, fertilize, aerate, weed control, etc.) my lawn since moving into my house 3 years ago. Whatcom Lawns installed the irrigation system in 4 days and I am thrilled with the results. The crew tested the system to ensure the sprinkler heads provided full coverage, and explained in detail how to use the system by accessing an app on my phone. The crew filled in all of the trenches and took additional time to ensure my yard was left in perfect condition before the job was completed. The owner of Whatcom Lawns also stopped by a week after the installation to see if I had any further questions and to ensure I was completely satisfied. The system works so efficiently that it now takes less than 45 minutes to water my entire yard as opposed to hours when done manually. Working with Whatcom Lawns over the last three years has been a great experience. They are great at what they do and I look forward to having them maintain my yard for years to come.

Whatcom Lawns installed a drip irrigation system for flower and vegetable gardens and did a swell job, from start to finish. The communication was good, the price seemed right, and the quality of the work looks high. They got the job done in just under 3 days, put in 4 zones and handled some tricky spots well. They cleaned everything up well, put stuff back in place, and even put some grass seed down at the end. They were good about tweaking the system and adding some pieces at the end to meet specific plant needs. Overall a pleasure to work with.

Thank you to the Whatcom lawns employee who helped me out of a bad snow drift today! He helped shovel me out in the freezing cold and blowing wind and waited to see if we would make it through the next drift up ahead. Just based off of this experience I would recommend them to anybody . Class act!!!

Only services 5 minutes east of Bellingham. Certainly calling themselves Whatcom lawns is a stretch. 7 minutes east of town on Hwy 542 is too far. Worthless.

The crew did an amazing job! I absolutely love the finished project! It looks like a whole different back yard. And I am no longer hanging my head in shame when I leave my house as the front looks gorgeous too! They even reset the stepping stones in a straight line, looks great! These guys are magic - they turned our flower beds from overgrown weeds and scattered blocks to a beautiful area. All the crew was exceptional - you never saw them not working and they transformed everything in a day and a half to include moving a bunch of old pavers, installing sod, and resetting the old pavers to expand the fire pit area. They also handle mowing our lawn (almost an acre) each week, triming bushes in the sumer, and trees in the winter. Without them, wed have to move to a condo since we cant do it ourselves anymore - great work!

We called Whatcom Lawns and spoke with Michael, who provided a rundown of all their services and listened to what we wanted and what we possibly might need in order to maintain our lawn, trees and beds. We have used Whatcom Lawns for several years for applications of weed/feed and moss killer and they have done a great job. We have now started using them for irrigation flushing in the fall, too. We used to have them do lawn aeration, but several of our irrigation valve covers were punctured and broken so we dont have that done anymore (hence the 4 star). Overall they are great to work with - dependable and friendly.

We have had the pleasure of working with Whatcom Lawns for the past four years, two of those years were as an out-of-state landlord, and the last two we have lived in our home in Sudden Valley. Dealing with the long distance was so easy. They kept our lawn trimmed for our tenants and did an excellent job. Then when we moved here we decided to redo our front yard. We removed the grass (sad grass. would have taken much, much work to restore it) and to put in a creative design with stones and mulch. The two men we worked with were excellent: talented, efficients, easy to work with to get just the design and results we wanted. Whatcom Lawns (WL) has been providing lawn care services to us since August 2019, when we moved to our house in Blaine. WL has been responsive, such as quickly removing a tree downed after a recent windstorm. It has handled all care professionally, while observing the local COVID restrictions. The yard looks well cared for and all areas, including driveway and patio, are cleaned up after each visit. We have expanded the regular services and also ordered several special projects, all delivered within the proposed cost and timeline, which are always provided prior to the service. Steve will discuss the projects in person with us and videotape the yard in order to provide his crew with specific instructions. We are quite satisfied.

We had a lawn disaster about 3 years ago. Finally called in Whatcom lawns for the whole meal deal. A sprinkler system, new (re-seeded) lawn and some more landscaping. They arent the least expensive, but their entire team is fantastic. The work is done well and quickly, out lawn now looks the the epitome of a Lynden lawn.

The owner, Steve and the crew are very professional. Steve has always been great with communication and doing what he said he would do. We have used them for a couple years and been very pleased with the service. Their weed control service have our beds and gravel areas looking spotless year round. The crew are always professional and conscious of pets. I also appreciate when they leave the messages about any lawn treatments they performed (fertilizer, moss control, etc.).

Whatcom lawns did our lawn for a year and always were pleasant and professional when I interacted with them but also didn t get in the way at all. They also cut down and cleaned up a large amount of blackberry bushes, I wouldn t have been able to do that on my own!

Not at all pleased with the service. Had an estimator out for a quote and a clear idea on work needed. The day of the work, I again emailed the man, telling him the tell the workers NOT to over prune. They listened to my neighbor, instead of me, the tree owner and the person paying. Where in the world does that happen!? Not pleased and wont use or refer them ever!!
