Whatcom Landscapes in Lynden

Whatcom Landscapes recently completed landscaping in our back yard, including placement of rock along our fence, placement of several larger rocks, multiple plantings, new irrigation system, and spreading fresh bark. Jon was great to work with in planning this project, with excellent suggestions for plants and flexibility as we requested changes in the plan. He provided very professional consultation. Daniel did a wonderful job of actually doing the work. He was friendly, timely, professional, and provided information freely as the project unfolded. Great to work with! We are very pleased with the entire process in working with Whatcom Landscapes and would definitely use them again.

Zach was here today to install the irrigation system and was on time and professional. Did a great job as I expected from Whatcom Landscapes. First class operation.

These guys are legit! Installed a patio in a very small, hardly accessible backyard and I love it. They worked diligently, showed up everyday and worked from beginning to end. Great communication from Jon and the crew. I d hire them again in a second. Worth every penny and my back is very happy.

The Whatcom Landscapes team did a great job with our garden project from beginning to end! I have a degree in Horticulture, and I love gardening, but there was no way I was psycally able to landscape a new property with the foundation trees and bushes, so I contacted Whatcom Landscapes, who have way more experience than I! I told them Id like a park design with flowering trees and bushes. Color! I got it and boy will things be even more exciting in the spring! I plan on hiring them again in the future for another project, but right now they take good care mowing my lawn!

I had a DIY flagstone patio that after a few years needed to be cleaned up and leveled. Having learned my lesson on DIY flagstone patio, I also wanted a new path created from the driveway to the patio. The job estimate was acceptable and half the price of the other bid received. These guys did not disappoint! The site was kept clean and the crew was professional and friendly. The workmanship was detail oriented and we are enjoying the finished product. I used Whatcom Landscapes a few years ago for landscape work at another property and will definitely use them again.

We moved into a 20-year old home in Whatcom County in May, 2019. The landscape was overgrown, some trees needed removal, the irrigation system needed maintenance, and the water features needed upkeep and upgrades. Knowing no one, we turned to social media sites for reviews, and solicited bids from three different companies. We chose Whatcom Landscapes, and are quite glad we did. To begin, they have excellent customer service. Whether meeting on site with David or Jon regarding work needing to be done, we always get a quick response via phone, and a site visit withing 48 hours. When the irrigation was leaking water and flooding our neighbor s yard basically, an emergency, they were there in an hour. Additionally, all the people who have worked at our home take the time to walk though the job with us, checking in at least a couple of times a day to make sure we are happy with what they re doing. Moreover, they advise, explaining why something should be done one way rather than another. We learned much about proper pruning from Justin (a master pruner) and pond structure from Brent (who rebuilt everything). As a result, we would sometimes adjust our work order because we realized what we thought would be good wouldn t be. Whatcom Landscape now maintains everything on our property except for the lawn, which they would do, except we decided to keep the former owner s long-time lawn maintenance employee because we just like him. One day, though, we expect Whatcom Landscape to take over this aspect of maintenance, too. We believe their prices are fair sort of in the middle of the bids we received. We believe one often gets what one pays for. We were wary when a company said they could remove four large trees (each 20-25 feet tall; up against the house), grind the stumps, clean up, and haul away the debris for a non-binding $1,200.00. That s a lot of money, but from experience, we knew it was a low bid. (The high bid was around $2,400.00.) Whatcom s binding bid was about $1,900.00. They did a great job, and the clean-up was spectacular. Do know this: They really clean up after themselves. My neighbors were most grateful for the clean-up on their side of the fence after a substantial hedge trimming. In short, then, this is a company we recommend without reservation.

We had our backyard converted to mulch, some drains installed, and did some considerable hardscaping in the form of rock paths and steps. We couldnt be happier with the job that Jon, Mark, and especially Brent did. Highly recommend.

Whatcom Landscapes did a large project for us in the Summer of 2020. This project involved removing a rotting wooden retaining wall and rebuilding it with Allan block. Also we had their team build a 10 x 70 enclosed garden and gate off our back yard. The bid was fair, the team showed up on time, worked diligently, and demonstrated outstanding workmanship. We noticed that one of the pieces of wood had a blemish on it and brought it to their attention. Within 24 hrs, the post was removed and replaced. Upon final inspection, Austin noted some scratching on the black deco wire fence panel. He was not satisfied with its appearance and had his team replace the panel. These actions are representative of their high level of professionalism and pride in their work. I recommend Whatcom Landscape without reservation and would gladly hire their team again!

Whatcom Landscape is incredible! My entire property needed to be landscaped, including a large-scale terraforming for a back yard that would eventually have artificial turf (which they installed). From the initial meetings all the way through and past completion it has been a great experience. There was never any pressure or extra fees. Their knowledge of plants and design is obviously deep. The end result is beautiful and high quality. These people are craftsmen.

I am very happy with the landscaping, pavers and beautiful waterfall they have done. They are there for you after the project if there are any issues. The employees are very conscientious. Great job!!!

Jon and his team did a great job putting in our landscape on our house. Daniel his Forman was top notch. They put in a dry creek bed, patio, plants, soil, and drip irrigation. My landscaping is now 1 year old. We had 2 trees that did not make it and Whatcom Landscapes replaced them in the spring. They stand by their work. A great company.

We highly recommend Whatcom Landscapes! Our sloping lower back yard seemed unusable. Now it is easy to access with a set of steps and a path that meanders through planting beds. The upper back yard was an uninspiring space covered in bark. Now it has a deck and path leading to a flagstone patio and planting bed. The project also included fencing the back yard and replanting the front yard. Jon got us off to a great start by listening to our needs and developing a detailed proposal. Gavin, the project foreman, and his crew were outstanding. Gavin was on site for the entire project. Whatcom Landscapes just finished a month-long job at my house. It was not an easy job ... it involved working in tight spaces and a wall with many angles. They did a great job! They were extremely pleasant to work with from the very beginning. Brent, the foreman, was very patient answering all my questions and couldnt have been a harder worker. At the end of every day, the site was cleaned up as much as possible. I would not hesitate to recommend them!
