Try anyone else - they will do a better job. They overcharge, have very poor, rude customer service, and are incompetent. Save yourself the hassle - open up all your valves to flood your yard, blame everyone but yourself, then send yourself rude emails. It might not be fun, but you’ll save time and hundreds of dollars. I had them out this year for spring opening and fall closing. In the spring, they left a valve wide open and it flooded my front driveway and the neighbors flower garden. In the fall, they left another valve open which was dripping. I had them come out again to resolve the issue and they charged me $125, claiming that a part was defective, even though after the technician rechecked his work the drip stopped. You tell me how a defective part suddenly starts working again ; the technician must be able to perform miracles by touch I guess. To boot, I checked with neighbors and this place is consistently charging $50 over what others are charging for the same services.

Not sure what is going on here - I think there is an inconsistency among the technicians that come to the property that has proven disastrous to the actual service they provide. Moved into a house in which Royal Turf had installed a system recently, so I used them for blowouts and turn-ons. First few visits were great. At one point, needed a large repair, which RT did. The blow out following that repair must have been a failure because the line burst badly. Eventually got them out to repair that pipe, but they were completely remorseless that their actions caused the problem (and the fix was not done properly). When I asked for a lower amount, I was blown off and told to wait (indefinitely.) I will not use again. Problem was fixed by a different company.

Really seems to struggle with quality repairs. Technicians left my system with major leaks on three separate occasions over two seasons. Twice, it was more broken after they left than before. At least they could check the system over after a repair. Seems like techs are more interested in just moving on to the next job than actually getting your system working. Communication from the company is poor.

A bit hit and miss. The system turn on this spring was not good at all. The technician did a subpar job in inspecting the front sprinkler heads. One head was spraying mostly the sidewalk and he never looked at it or just ignored it. The technician who came later in the summer was helpful and knowledgeable. In three or four years I have never had a single technician that suggested anything to improve the sprinkler performance or coverage.

After getting our normal check up we were given the ok. But it turned out that one of the sprinkler heads was cut and gushing. How did that get missed? When I called to arrange follow up I was alerted that the tech who did my work had been released due to unreliability and a new appointment was quickly set and the work got done just fine. I want to commend RT for great honesty and customer service. No company is perfect but the willingness to own up and simply fix the problem is admirable. This seems unusual these days. Great job RT. This is a company that lacks integrity and respect for their clients property. One of their workers broke our gate and didn t tell us. When we called the owner to tell him he immediately became defensive and didn t want to replace the damaged mechanism on the gate. He defended his employee instead of apologizing. If an owner of a company can t handle a stern/critical tone from one of their clients how are they going to handle even minor criticism? Be careful of companies who lack accountability like this one

Absolutely terrible company to work with. I think the owner might be on drugs. I had him out to the house on different occasions and he seemed like a different guy each time. Not very professional, seems kind of dirty and covered in tattoos. I dont think it is a very good look to be covered in ink when you are trying to be a professional company. Thats just my opinion. When they did come out, seemed very agitated and nervous. Had a sprinkler repairman out and he had NO idea what he was doing, charged me an arm and a leg and I ended up calling another company that told me that this company has a reputation in the industry for terrible work. I believe it. I am so glad I didnt accept their work, my neighbor down the street did and they were put the through the ringer. Dodged a bullet. If you are serious about having a professional company out, then try a different one.

2 of the sprinkler heads are still spraying the patio. I paid the bill in full with a credit card at the time of service & was later sent a bill for another 30 cents by email. When I called about this, I was told the bill was actually for 35 cents but I wouldnt be sent to collections for that amount. I paid the 35 cents.

We cancelled their service when they didnt show up. Came 4 days later with a bad attitude when asked up why they were here. Ended up hostile and I ordered them off my property. Now we get an invoice, FIRST one, charging us along with 18% late fees. I cannot recommend them to anyone.

After scheduling my winter blow out for 4pm I got an email that confirmed this time, within seconds got a 2nd email that the appointment was rescheduled to between 3-5pm and then got a reminder that it was 3pm. Called them numerous times asking for a call ahead, because I had a work appoint in town and eventually a rude lady (Lisa) called me back, who made a big deal out of my simple question and blamed me for the reschedule. Needless to say that we moved on to a friendlier, more reliable company and not what you expect from a company that has a lot of competitors. ============================= UPDATE AFTER RESPONSE FROM OWNER: How many lies can you put in one sentence? - I didnt reschedule or approved a reschedule - I was not asking for anything complex or specific, just a heads up call whenever your tech was coming my way to avoid that he showed up while I was out at a job. - The first time I called after the reschedule I got an answering machine, you never called back and never confirmed the call ahead. I have never spoken to you in my life, what on earth are you talking about with we told you we would call ahead the first time you called??? - I didnt hang up... YOU did, while I was asking to never be contacted again by Royal Turf, which you obviously didnt hear and therefore I followed up with an email and opted-out. Mind boggling that companies like yours survive. Unbelievable dishonest.

I struggle a little with this review. Rob was great, just made a mistake. Ben was great, who corrected the error (* see below). It is Lisa, the receptionist that was very rude. I called Royal Turf after they already blew out my sprinkler system - as my sprinkler backflow was leaking. I knew this was abnormal. I received at VM from Patty stating that Rob could come out that day. I called back and got Lisa, and I requested that a different tech come out. That was no problem, said they could get Ben out that day; However, Lisa acted like I was putting her out, while I was trying not to have major plumbing issues this winter. I literally said to her, while she is yelling at me - this is your fault, why are you yelling at me? She yelled, I AM NOT YELLING AT YOU. All I could do was laugh. Ummm, OK. Just edgy and prickly. Company did send someone that day. Ben said she deals with lots of people trying to get free things - I have empathy, but I am not exactly sure what free things I would be trying to get. Ben stated, had he not fixed the issue, I would have had serious issues this winter. SO thanks, Lisa. The least you could do is make me a homemade Italian dish. All customers should be aware that they will charge you $15.00 if you asked to be billed, which no one orally told me about. Update: Had someone working on my furnace today and he stated that there is a steady stream of water coming out of the drip leg - the same pipe/water shut off valve that Ben came by to rectify last night. I have called Royal Turf back and will post an update on how it goes. Update 2: Ben came out again. There was literally a steady stream of water coming out of the shut off valve - and a huge puddle of water on my crawlspace concrete/dirt. Ben apologized profusely. I appreciate someone that owns up to their errors and that is not lost on me. That being said, from 10/12 thru 10/16 it was as if I turned on a faucet and let it run 24 hours a day. That water bill is going to be so expensive for me and the company has not offered to refund me for their error. What about my concrete damage? In the end, it will at least cost me double if not substantially more for using this company. All the other companies I have utilized over the past 5 years did not present with this issue. You ought to refund me.

Took two days to get some one out on a call regarding a leak in the drip line resulting in a $400.00+ water bill for my tenant. This leak begin the day the tech began the start up and yet they claim no fault of their own. The tech did not touch base when he arrived (i was not given an exact arrival time) so I have no clue as to the problem or what he did while here. I asked that they compensate for the water bill and not charge for the call but they have rejected all request. Many issues I have had over the past 4 years. This will be the last. In response to Royal Turf post it was the 2nd day that I finally made progress with getting someone out. The window I was given was around 11am or at end of day.(still have the email) BIG window and he did not touch base with me. Had no idea he was here. As for the water company they came out the first day within the hour of my call. The operation manager checked everything on their end and informed me in was a leak in the drip line and advised me to call you.

We set Thursday, July 29th for gentlemen who does their irrigation system to give me a call since Im off on Thursday s. As of August 4th I have not heard from anyone.

I called Royal Turf back in June 2021 for a quote to put a new front sprinkler system in. They were responsive and the man who came out to bid the job seemed very professional and knowledgeable, he told me they were booked out until The end of August (ok I realize it is busy season). He emailed me the quote. After that is when all communication fell apart I tried calling multiple times to see if I could get on the list but you can t leave a voicemail. I finally was able to get to speak to the guy who deals with scheduling the install. He is downright rude and unprofessional. I mentioned to him I have called and needed to be put on the schedule to which re replied you are on the schedule .uh ok? I never even got to speak with a person after the quote and yet I am unknowingly on the schedule .then he tells me they are booking out until Sept 17th which is not what I was told. I ended up getting a quote and hiring another company and emailed royal turf to let them know got a call from the scheduler (to e rude guy) telling me I was on the schedule for this coming Wednesday?!? What?? No one ever contacted me to tell me. He was clearly irritated when I told him I hired someone else but come on maybe you need to learn how to communicate with your customers! Also I told him I had signed a contract with the other company to which he replies you signed one with us too no I did not I can t speak on the actual work as we didn t get that far but the communication is deplorable at best.

Scheduled a blowout (my neighbor did as well on the same day). Nobody showed to either house. Took 3 attempts over a couple days to reach the company, including a voicemail the day of the missed appointment. Was told I could schedule for a week out again, but with no explanation or seeming awareness of the missed appointment. Didnt feel confident a reschedule was a valuable use of my time. Understand that things happen. Life isnt perfect. But would have appreciated some sort of response, apology, or assurance of a resolution and would have gladly rescheduled.

Justin provided quote for large patio and walkway remodel June 29th, he stated he was 5 months out from the time down payment and proposal was signed. Job was supposed to begin in November 2021. On November 29th when I had not heard when job would begin, I called and left voicemail and texted Justin the owner. I never received a phone call but did receive a letter and a refund of our down payment. Both letter and check were dated 10/20/21 but postmark was November 29th, the same day I called. This letter explained what a hard year he had and how difficult it was to recruit new employees and is getting out of the landscape and hardscape industry for the next year, only doing irrigation. This I understand, what I dont understand that he never called and explained the situation. Had he been more honest and told me sooner, I could have called another company and didnt waste 5 months expecting him to do the job. This is not how you run a company even in hard times like these. Consultation fee should have also been refunded since I would have received credit for fee upon completion of work. This was not refunded.

We used this company when they were brand new years ago and really liked them. Recently moved back into Loveland and needed sprinkler service so sent an email requesting an appointment. After waiting 2 weeks I decided to call but their message said something like, If you have already requested an appointment by email do not also leave us a phone message. So I hung up. After waiting a few more days, called back and left a phone message anyways and nobody EVER called or emailed. I guess they have a successful business and are very busy but it is poor customer service to not respond to people who are trying to choose them over all the other competitors. I will not choose them next time.

My wife and I built a new house in Timnath and had Royal Turf do the entire landscaping. Justin has the best knowledge on plants and trees, and put together a beautiful plan that was far more intricate and thoughtful compared to some low cost landscapers. We gave him some ideas, and he ran with it and came up with a unique design. Ben and his team did the install, and working with Ben was wonderful. You can tell they really cared on how the job was done and making sure our input was heard. Had them come out to fix a zone and they shut my whole system off. Had to have them back 6 additional times to keep fixing issues they missed or just lazy work left half done. Then had to call multiple times to get the correct bill. They tried to charge me for sending people back to fix what they didn t fix in the first place. Took all summer and my trees and yard suffered because of it. Got different answers from every person i spoke with. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing, as well as extremely time consuming.

The sprinkler person came out and the longer I listened the same job kept going up in price. And he kept saying it would be cheaper if I didnt want the estimate it writing! The estimate was on a lined memo pad, not signed and no company name. They wanted to charge me more than double what the job was worth. He said they charge $101/hour said one part of the bid would take 2 hours, so I said thats $200. We went on to the rest of the bid. Then later he said that of course that was 2 people each at $101/hour, so that part was $400 to run a line 15 feet. That wasnt going to happen. They wanted over $800 for a job that 3 other contractors all bid at less than $400.

Royal Turf has been doing our sprinkler blowouts since they took over the book of business from Zak George Landscaping. They have done a great job every time they have come out. We had a split pipe from freezing last year. I noticed the problem EARLY in the spring when I turned my system back on. Due to my own procrastination, failed to call them right away, since the freeze split didnt cause loss of water, I didnt call them until months into the watering season. When I called, there were NO QUESTIONS...they sent a tech right out to verify the situation to make sure it was in fact a freeze split. When the tech came out to look at it...he fixed it quickly, quietly, and efficiently. Again....NO QUESTIONS! I will continue to hire Royal Turf, and recommend Royal turf to anyone who asks.

When everything goes well things are great, but the true measure of a company is how they handle things when they go wrong. You trust a company to get it right, especially with a landscape project where you envision an end result and hope the company you hire can translate that into reality. But if they get it wrong, as Royal Turf did for us, then you expect the company to work with you to fix it, however they are a company that turns on you very quickly and will not easily assist, or even acknowledge, or respond to remedy issues. Later you will likely find the results of their sloppy work which may be a result of them wanting to quickly finish the job since they know you are unhappy. Some things we recommend you do BEFORE signing a contract with Royal Turf: 1) Review CAREFULLY with the owner Justin EXACTLY what is to be done, then be sure to get the work written out explicitly in the quote. Their email quotes are very basic, cryptic and inaccurate (on purpose?) which they will use later to tell you they didn t agree to do work you expected to be done. 2) Walk through the project and RECORD IT on your smartphone, again to ensure the mix ups that are VERY common with them are avoided, or at least so you have proof that what you asked for was missed on the quote. 3) Do NOT agree to sign the paper that puts ALL the responsibility on you for anything THEY miss. They will quickly use this as soon as you discover that they are not completing key work you asked for. 4) Carefully INSPECT all aspects of the completed job before paying. There were a lot of quality issues that we discovered afterwards, including a staple put through a line which leaked, a sensor that wasn t connected, lines installed in the wrong places among others, and we had to pay someone else to come fix as Royal Turf wouldn t return our calls (since they knew we were very unhappy with them). 5) If things are not going well then call and tell them to STOP the project until there is agreement on what will be and won t be done. Once they get to what they consider the end of their responsibilities they will leave and then threaten you with bill collection if you try to get them to do the work that was expected. The lady who answers the phone is rude and short with you, this is what you can expect if ANYTHING goes wrong with your job and is a reflection on the business. In summary, they do not always include what you ask for on the quote, we think it is because they want to do the easy work and not tackle harder time consuming tasks or work requiring them to coordinate with another company which they (conveniently?) leave off the quote. When you discover something they are not doing, but that you asked for and thought was included, then they immediately tell you that you signed an agreement indicating THEY ARE NOT responsible for any miscommunications or requirements not spelled out in the quote. The quote is (intentionally?) minimalistic and does not spell out everything in specific detail, so this leaves it open to interpretation. Do yourself a favor and go with another company as Justin and his crew cannot be trusted. Problems happen, but it is how these problems are handled what separates a poorly run company from a great one. Find an honest company who has a record of quality and working with customers to ensure they are totally satisfied.

There is more than enough competition in this area to merit a higher level of business competency and customer service. Dont waste your time and money with these guys. What a headache. I had a pretty rough time with these guys. A lot of it was blamed on the lack of project manager within the company, various communication issues within the company, assumptions about what was going to be handled by whom. A lot of it was blamed on the miscommunications with email. Here are the highlights: 1. My air conditioner compressor unit outside was in the way of the concrete forms. I had to find and hire an air conditioner service technician to QUICKLY come over and unhook the unit, then come back later and hook it back up. Most companies wanted $500+ but I chose the $250 guy since I was planning on passing on the bill to Royal Turf. I was not reimbursed for this surprise expense. The owner said hes not a concrete foreman, so how was he to know it was going to be an issue! 2. The two gates were removed/open during the concrete pour. Afterward, they wouldnt close (you saw this coming, right?). One gate was left leaned up against my neighbors fence and subsequently blew over in some wind, cracking the PVC. Royal Turf owner Justin King says he thought I was going to take care of the gates. There was no mention of gates prior to the job. He finally did decide to help, and sent over a handyman friend who did a half-ass job. I gave up and just repaired and remounted one of the gates myself. 3. The huge cedar garden boxes were put together quickly and without the highest quality. My wife and I went out afterward and added more supports and screws. Hopefully you cant tell its out-of-level once we get some plants in there, or I will have to bring out the big guns and level this huge heavy garden box structure. 4. We delayed sod installation several months out so it would be warmer. The owner emailed me halfway through the delay and says hes not going to be able to make payroll, so if I could please pay the second half of the job now, that would be nice. I reluctantly ended up paying for all completed work up to that point to try and help him. 5. Accounting woes. Job completed. I get an invoice for several thousand more than I was expecting, because my halfway payment wasnt processed (even though it cleared my bank weeks prior). I explained that I was expecting a smaller invoice for the sod. Both the owner and bookkeeper stated an amount I had remaining to pay. I paid it. Then they said I need to pay that amount again, that they messed up their math earlier. I redid the math and did find that I owed, but it was still another surprise I wasnt expecting. The workers were polite and did put in effort to contain their cigarette butts (I still found a couple); and they worked hard and did quality work. That is the only reason this isnt a 1-star review. I got a hard-working crew, but the business is severely mis-managed. I really do wish this company well, and I hope this review makes them step up their management game. Update May 2015: Huge leak in one of the main lines in the back. Minor leak in a rear zone. Major leak in a side zone. They hired an irrigation technician that is very punctual and knowledgeable. These lingering problems have been fixed by their tech the very next day after I report them. I would normally have lowered my review to 1 star, but the expediency of this new field tech is saving it. Will keep at 2 stars.

Royal Turf did an excellent job on landscaping our entire yard! They also did a very intricate stone wall and patio for us that was of the highest quality! Including lighting throughout our entire yard. The pricing was reasonable and they are very trust worthy. I would highly recommend them; and we will use them again! Jon and Laura
