James does an excellent job--goes way above the competition. He pays lots of attention to detail and charges very reasonable rates. I didn’t actually end up using Higher Standards for my lawn care needs but they had such good customer service that I wanted to leave a review! I called them this morning because my lawn mower broke last week and the grass was already getting kinda long when I went to mow it last Monday… so needless to say, I was really appreciative when James from Higher Standards told me he’d be able to come out later today or tomorrow to get me an estimate, and would be be back to mow in two days or so. As it turns out, my housemate already had a person she’d used before I moved into the house, so it worked out better to just use that same person as before. But like I said, I appreciate good customer service and although we ended up using a different provider, I got very good, prompt, polite customer service from James and that’s the kind of thing that’s worth noting!
James & his team do an exceptional job. We’ve used their services for weekly mowings as well as completing a landscaping job. James is very responsive, personable, & their work speaks for itself!
They did an incredible job with my yard and I was very pleased. In less than 48 hours they did a site visit and provided a quote and cleaned my entire yard way above my expectations. Price was very reasonably and they were extremely professional. I have found my new lawn care team for sure.
Higher Standards lives up to it’s name! The customer service and quality of work is above and beyond. James called me back quickly, was knowledgeable and professional. He not only accepted my last minute job request but worked diligently to make sure he could work my yard into the schedule. He came out when he said he would and routinely communicated updates, reminders and even photos of before and after!! I have had 2 other lawn companies in the past at other homes and Higher Standards blows them out of the water. The work ethic of this team is something that is hard to find anymore, I am truly impressed. I am grateful to have found this company and look forward to doing business with them often. James has been moving my grass for over a year now and it has never looked better. He is very reliable and the quality of his work is excellent. He has also trimmed back my bushes and shrubs. This week, he put in a drainage system in my back yard, planted ornamental grasses and placed river rock. It looks great. He is very professional and I would highly recommend him.

Outstanding! I had an overgrown (I mean, REALLY overgrown) yard that needed cut, and they came out same day to take care of it. Thoroughly professional, good value, extremely responsive. He even contacted me to let me know the price would be a bit higher than initially quoted once he got to the property and saw. I really appreciated his care. Definitely recommend!

I am very hesitant to say the least because so many people advertise a service, but do not live up to it. I messaged the owner Mr. Dennis, he was very quick on his response time. That is a must for me, the next day he was at my home, he was efficient, polite, professional, courteous, price was unbelievably low for everything I wanted done. I can not wait to see this young mans business take off. I will use his business from here on out. I recommend highly to give him a shout to do any and all outdoor needs. He had new ideas I had not even considered. I love all that has been done. He will definitely be cleaning up Louisville in a positive way. His wife also has her own small business. She cleans houses, can not wait to get her estimate for a 4100 sq ft house. 2 dogs and a teenager. Very polite and courteous too. Give her a shout too.
Needed my grass cut but the person that usually cuts stopped showing up. I called James up he showed up on time got my yard looking better than it ever had. I forsure recommend this business for all your yard needs.

If you need ANY lawncare done and you dont use this guy youre cheating yourself. They do excellent work and always on time. He goes the extra mile to make sure you are happy with his services.
I messaged James about doing some yard work around my house and he was very responsive and answered all my questions. Being a single mom to two babies it s hard for me to get anything done. So I reached out to him told him what all I wanted done, he came out to my home and has my yard looking 1000x better. I got home from work and didn t even recognize my house . I will for sure be using his service from now on

James was amazing. He cleaned up all the leaves and the yard looks wonderful. It took him several hours longer than expected, but he kept to his original price.
Within 24 hours they were able to give me a quote and complete all of the work. He far exceeded my expectations for the price i was quoted. He even threw in a complimentary mow to get my yard ready for the winter. Will definitely be using them from now on
