Update: Our yard is really looking nice. Lawrence (nice young man) was out today and did a good job of spraying combination of weed killer and fertilizer equally and thoroughly over the entire front and back yards. Pleased with TruGreen service. Rough start with TruGreen. Sales Representatives need to explain Plans in detail and better manage expectations. Additionally, when doing initial service, and killing off invasive grasses and weeds, and yard looks worse than ever, TruGreen should offer removal of dead material (i.e. raking) and then offer/suggest aeration and reseeding. Again, goes back to Sales Rep explaining plans and managing expectations. Yard looks really good now, but its a process and that should be explained and emphasized often.

Joseph did both tree and shrub fertilization as well as applying horticultural oil. We discussed issues I was having with a diseased tree and he provided valuable advice

Airration and over-seed service performed on yard and caused damage to backyard. Machine got stuck and dug trenches in yard attempting to get free. Machine had to be pulled out. Truegreen said they would come and fix yard but repairs have not happened yet. I keep being told a manager will call me but NO manager has called yet in 2 weeks. Customer service response to issue is unacceptable and poor.

TruGreen service has objectively made my lawn worse over the year they were treating it. Their treatment may work for some areas, but clearly not mine here in Northern Virginia. The only thing that has thrived with their treatment is crab grass and weeds. I do not recommend their treatment for lawns in Northern Virginia.

I spoke with True Green today and also on 9 Aug. received conflicting information . Delayed service. Horrible phone service, no transparency, untrained folk. Took forever to cancel my service and to beat it all they could not tell me how much the refund would be. NEVER USE THESE FOLK. Would not have given them one star but could not post this comment without choosing a undeserving star.

Weed control is super. However they fertilize too much, too often. No need to fertilize so much in the spring, should only fertilize in the fall. Just feeding weeds and making the grass too green and growing too fast and not building roots. Would be helpful to get more notice than a few hours ahead of visit so I could review pending service. Workers do a good job. Yard looks great. They control weeds that were very difficult for me to control on my own.

Do not waste your money. Absolute worse service, and lazy employees imaginable. Treatments are always stretched to 6 weeks and past that point, and the services are rushed. The straw that broke the camels back for me is that after already waiting more than 6 weeks for my next treatment, the technician Khari sits in his truck next door at my neighbors house for 30 minutes before and after a drizzling rain. I get a text saying your service for today is canceled. I told Khari, well, it drizzled rain for 2 minutes, and now its done, you can treat my yard now. He said his office told him to cancel all jobs for that day. He just looked at me like I had two heads...no effort or common sense applied. Im done with TruGreen. Dont recommend. Try another company.

Terrible Customer Service and Poorly trained technicians use the wrong products on your lawn and landscape. I ve used TruGreen for over a year now and my lawn doesn t look any different then when I first began using them. In fact I have the worst lawn on my street after having TruGreen aeration and over seeding this past fall. I am done with their service. Look at their reviews! No higher than 1.8! I used them on their reputation instead of looking up the reviews first. I wish Google had a (- )

I wish that they had rung my doorbell But luckily, I saw them outside and requested the next time they come they ring the bell before they begin to work.

Entire lawn consumed by a variety of weeds and weedy grasses. Very little tall fescue left growing amongst weeds. First application of a variety of lawn chemicals sprayed April 10th. Hope to see a major improvement by next fall season.

Im really bummed about this because I was looking forward to using TruGreens services. My lawn was supposed to be serviced for the first time on Wednesday (4/5) by Lawrence B. I took off of work and was waiting on my front porch when I got the text alert that he had arrived. 7 minutes passed and then I got a second text saying that the service was complete. However, that was not the case because no one came to my house or my yard. I called and informed the schedulers of what had happened. I was rescheduled for my first service on Friday (4/7). Once again, Lawrence B was supposed to service my home. At 3:13 I got a text saying he had arrived. I was at my front door and saw the TruGreen car parked 3 doors down from my home. At 3:14, 1 minute later, I got another text saying the service was complete and the TruGreen car drove away. Once again, the service was not completed and no one had come to my home. That was two back to back instances of my lawn not being serviced when TruGreen claimed it had been. Had I not been home, I wouldnt have known that no one came and would have been charged otherwise. In both instances an invoice was provided claiming that someone had serviced my lawn. Super disappointed with how this played out.

So I dont have this company, but I will never hire them after today. Some random man from this company was on my property, uninvited, taking pictures of my yard and other things. Ill ask politely in this review to not use this company. If youre willing to have someone show up to a random persons house and step foot on their property stih no reason, then Im afraid of what youd do with our permission.

Technician was knowledgeable, answering all questions about condition of the lawn and what measures could be taken to improve its appearance/health. Recommendations were simple. They included watering amounts and frequencies, how often to mow and what length.

Applied service to yard. Talked with tech regarding yard condition which he indicated there were a few thin spots omin back yard. Per our discussion, he completed the far edge. Thanks, Bruce

Tree and shrub control application was great!

We have been customers for their tree and shrub service for over three years. I commented to the technician recently that azaleas on my property were dying. He took photos and said he would send his report up to management to respond to our concerns. Another technician came out last week to take videos of the shrubbery. We still have not been contacted by anyone in management.

I met with Tevin today. He came to the house very respectfully. He answered all of my questions about how our yard is being treated and what we could do to have more success. He was very polite and helpful. I plan on having my yard aerated to have my brown spots treated. He said that aeration will make sure grass grows on the stump area that we had ground down. Really impressed by Tevin. I do believe that he has truly helped me to decide to continue with our contract!

He told her what to expect with are lawn in the next weeks and answered any questions she had. Then he handed her a card with his picture and his name on it, along with the printed receipt of what was applied. Someone is almost always home and this is the first time they rang the bell to speak with us. I ll be looking for this service going forward and this will become the Gold Standard for my reviews. Tru Green needs to do better identifying problems and correcting them for customers, before they become a major issue. My observation is that they put down chemical , leave generic notes and then depart. No specific recommendations, quality control or follow ups. Each time the process is repeated.

Paid for services in advance. First service was great. Horrible since then. Multiple-no shows, which is awful since they give you a 5 hour window and weve wasted days waiting for them. After first no show, supervisor came over to confirm that service indeed hadnt been conducted as the tech reported, and we were promised it would never happen again. More no shows followed. Had soil samples taken-no results ever provided despite the extra cost. Calling to complain only takes you to an overseas call center and youre lucky if you get a call back- only the first no show got any response. Straw that broke the camels back was a tech supposedly on the way from two streets up-less than a block away. After over an hour, I walked up to where the tech supposedly was, as the wife was on the phone with the call center who claimed he was right there... No sign of any truck on that street or any street in our neighborhood. Requests to speak to supervisor at call center were denied as theyre all busy. Unable to even cancel over the phone. Asked for a local number, dialed it, and got the same call center, twice, if not three times. Horrible, horrible service. Will cancel just as soon as we can find someone to actually talk to.

This organization makes it impossible to speak the person in charge. In my case Mr. Rob Lacey. They make promises and don t keep them. If I were Mr. Lacey s supervisor he d be a former employee. I ve made numerous attempts over a month and some how my service doesn t seem important, as in the customer isn t important. I hope that this careless attitude isn t a Corporate one. If word of mouth is important to a Company you can imagine what my input would be.

I ve dealt with many grass treatment companies and as disappointing as they all have been, Trugreen is by far the worst. What ever treatment they re using clearly hasn t worked. Not only that, they don t show up at the scheduled day and didn t have the decency to notify us that they weren t coming. Very bad.

They have a great product but you have to watch them while they work cause their workers love cutting corners and can be rather messy. We have a pool in my yard and have to watch to make sure they dont throw fertilizer in it. As well as their communication with the customers sucks. Example they rescheduled my service twice now. I just got a phone call saying they rescheduled to tomorrow. 20 minutes later I received a text saying they were on their way

TruGreen uses eco-friendly products that are effective. Their service is prompt and dependable and their staff is always courteous and kind. Prices are reasonable and the work is always done to my satisfaction.

Most of my expensive ornament bushes have died of bug infections, my lawn is full of weeds, they frequently skip over the backyard completely or other large portions of the yard, they are unfamiliar with plant types and how to treat them, and the worst part is spending 45 minutes on the phone with them getting transferred from agent to agent who can t actually help you.

They rescheduled appointments multiple times within 2 weeks. Finally we called and canceled. They told my wife it was canceled. Then they came out to do another service . They left our back gate open which let our dogs run away. Then they tried to charge us. When I called to find out why they claim they never spoke with her and they keep hanging up on me. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureaus.

Service is great, dependable and guaranteed.

The technician failed to perform services. They indicated that service was completed and did not perform task as evidenced by my ring cameras. On numerous occasions spoke with team leadership and they failed to take corrective action. The same gentleman has been cutting and maintaining my yard for 14 years. Twice this year he inquired whether I was still obtaining yard treatment. Not at all happy with my experience and management response and responsiveness.

I think their lawn care service is good, but it really annoys me how theyll cold call their customers to upsell them. Good evening, we were recently in your neighborhood treating your neighbors yard for mosquitos and were curious if you were interested. Might cancel if they call me again trying to bait me with their cliche selling pitch.

Not at all Happy. I had no lawn issues with Virginia Green company only reason I switched to True Green was that they were a little cheaper and I paid the price for this. My lawn is not as green as before and I see alot of Crab grass and other weeds. Called in with my concerns and they scheduled someone to come over to treat but that tech who showed up did not treat my actual concerns but just spread some fertilizer that greens up the grass (as per service notes). So They re-scheduled me for another visit when I called. This time the tech parked in front of my house for less than a minute, marked my appointment completed in system and drove away. I saw all this from my camera and ran outside and waved at him and called out loud. He saw me and still drove away without doing anything. I am just done now with this company. Going back to my previous service provider.

Moved from Hawaii back to the mainland. Have a home with a nice lawn. Calling companies getting quotes for lawn care. Made the mistake of calling Trugreen!! My goodness! They wont stop calling! Trugreen wants to sell me their service 8 applications for $1989.00 When a local company is charging $850.00, I told Trugreen not interested. Now they keep calling. 5 times they have called. 5 times I have said: not interested. Please do not call and take my number off your list. This is starting to be Harassment now! I sent all the numbers and times to the BBB in hopes they will stop calling.

Lawrence came here at 7:17 am I saw him on camera did NOTHING!!!!! Left at 7:19 am and sent text the service is completed!!!!!? This is second they this service company do this!? Rather to cancel it to call for complain !!!! I wish I could send pictures!!!!!! Very very disappointing!!!!! Not sure why I paying $87 each time!

Started out satisfied with them. Last month nothing but problems starting with being charged for a service THAT THEY NEVER DID. Called to reschedule and have a Supervisor from local office call me. Got rescheduled via a phone call from their customer service rep. THEY DIDN T SHOW UP AGAIN. Called and told it wasn t scheduled. When I tried to explain I got call told it wasn t scheduled by whoever called me. It was the customer service 800 number. Told nothing they can do but reschedule it again. Getting close to getting lawyers involved for theft, fraud etc. And I still haven t been able to talk to anyone locally since ALL the calls are routed to customer service somewhere in mid West. Was hopeful they could control my lawn weeds etc, now I just want to talk to ANYONE in their Lorton office and get my ALREADY PAID FOR SERVICES COMPLETED.

You show up when expected, which is a biggie. Additionally, you manage our lawn and fertilizers in such a way that we always have a green lawn. Great job!

Stay away terrible service and responsiveness, I have more weeds than when I had no service. They cant even manage a schedule. 8/8/2022 update: Funny they say contact customer service. Standard response you don t think that was the first recourse. I have contacted customer service more that five time the local office refuses to contact me and they tried to continue rendering services. If I could have give zero star they would have earned them.

Absolute fraud, they were supposed to come to my house to perform an aeration and seeding, they texted me at 11:10 AM and said they were at my house. I have a very large yard. 12 minutes later at 11:22 they told me they had completed the job. The workers never touched the side or rear of my home. I know this because my security cameras documented. I could watch them walking to the rear of the driveway, . taking a look at the backyard and then walking away. Total rip off fraud. Scam! Avoid at all cost !!!

***** UPDATE Manager has been to the property and sent a new crew to fix the yard. Manager was very helpful! More to follow.... New customer, pre-paid 7 visits, first service appeared to be ok, no real difference, after hearing nothing I called 6 weeks later to ask if I needed to schedule the appointments or did TruGreen schedule them, they said should have been 4 weeks apart. Appointment was scheduled, second service - I was emailed receipt however no one actually showed up, customer service said accident we will reschedule, 2 actual appointment guy shows up seen on security cameras get service done in 10 mins, 13000 square feet. 2 days later grass has streaks and is dying. I called 800# was told manager will be out to review in a few days. Get text stating between 12 and 5pm use the tracker to monitor time, 32 mins before tracker says someone will be there, I get a receipt text, states we were at your house and applied 33#s of fertilizer. I was home looking out my window, no one was ever on my property. Called 800# they said sorry, we must have put fertilizer somewhere else!? I asked where? they said they didnt know, I hope who got their lawn fertilized was expecting it, I believe it is harmful to animals if eaten. They advised they could reschedule another visit..... I explained I just need the manager you were supposed to send to look at the dying grass, not to add more fertilizer. Customer Service said, we can reach out to the manager to call you, I explained thats what I heard the last time... This is how the treat your yard. Horrible service, nonresponsive customer services, fake service tickets.

Horrible customer care. I do not get invoices and have asked repeatedly for them. I do not get service tickets and you customer care is sent over seas and is horrible. My back yard is a disaster this year. Will likely discontinue because such horrible service.

I called to schedule a consultation and the sales person was so off-putting and persistent I will never use this service. Someone (sitting at a desk in Ohio!) trying to charge me $700 to treat my lawn in Arlington, VA without seeing my lawn is not acceptable. He clearly too his sales training to heart and wouldn t accept no thank you . Luckily I ve found a local company to take my business to!

Do not give them your phone number. I have received no less than 4-6 calls and texts per day - even on the weekends trying to upsell. I have NEVER seen a company do this so frequently - and for good reason. Oh, I also get a ton of email. I asked him to remove my number and it had to go through some special process so who knows how long that will take.

TruGreen provides good services and keeps you apprised of their schedule via their App. If something doesnt go quite right, they make it right! Highly recommend TruGreen!

We hired TruGreen last fall because we started to get some weeds. We always had a lawn care service at our previous house. In one year our yard went to a nice green yard to weeds all over and brown patch destroying our back yard. Not to mention the fungal disease on all of my shrubs, which I was also paying for a disease and insect control. I had their full package and NOTHING helped my yard, yet it destroyed it! Now I can t get in contact with a manager after several attempts. I wish I would of not hired this company. Our yard was okay the 2 years prior but wanted to fertilize it and keep the weeds away. Now it s so much worse off and paid over $1,000!

Sprayed for pests. Grass not growing. Will wait two weeks for improvements and will repost. Thanks.

Ive had TruGreen service our lawn for only 11 months, and it has never looked better. They started with a lawn overrun with weeds and bare spots, and now I have a lush green lawn. I could not be happier with the results that TruGreen has produced for us. Highly recommended. Updated 7 Nov 22: Just finishing my 2nd year with TruGreen, and I am not renewing for next year. While they have improved my lawn, Im not happy with their service. During fall 21, they did not aerate/overseed my lawn until the first week of November, and nothing germinated. They offered to reseed in the spring, which I declined, but I did ask to be scheduled early the following fall (this year) for aeration/overseeding. This year, they didnt complete it until the 3rd week of October - and again, nothing has germinated, leaving me with bare spots that need to be filled in. Im also not satisfied that all my services are done by a different person, and whenever I call the office, I wind up speaking with a different person. They are either too large to offer personalized service, or they have lots of turnover with their staff.

I have the yearly service. My lawn looks great all year long!

Great results and punctual service

These careless guys dug up our lawn, in a very sloppy and hurried manner. Last year the aeration was fine but this year it is a disaster. This is not acceptable and is the last time TruGreen ever does aeration on our property. Jordan and his crew also broke our sump pump outlet cover. That cover is big enough that anyone who cares would not have trampled over it with the aerator. Obviously, these guys dont know how to use this machine. A local manager was supposed to call me to discuss within 1-2 days but I guess nobody wants to take ownership or responsibility. To top it off, they double charged me: I had prepaid but they charged me once more after the service. Sloppiness, carelessness and lack of responsibility or any professionalism. Different people every time so none of them really know the property. Different problem: last week TruGreen expert comes at 7:20 AM and leaves without knocking, ringing bell or calling. No advance notice. Nothing got accomplished - empty service ticket online with the same lame rationale I didnt knock as a Covid precaution. Yet, no precaution from the technicians this week working the aerator - didnt bother to wear a mask, not one of the three guys, not even asked me when on our property, at our door and not when in the yard.

They killed my grass and then refused to fix it unless I pay more to fix their mistake. I will never use this company again or recommend them.

Malcolm Sumler performed aeration and over seeding today. As a true professional, he performed OUTSTANDING service today! In the past we have had this service provided by various lawn companies - but this is the first time the service performed was exceptional. In the past, technicians arrived and finished within 30 minutes. In contrast, Malcolm took the necessary time to provide complete, thorough and outstanding service. He answered all my questions and provided helpful guidance on how I can maintain a healthy lawn. A top-notch technician!

I needed some work on my lawn a few weeks ago and Kimani came out and did THE BEST job ive ever seen. HIGHLY recommend him! he deserves a RAISE! i will be telling everyone to ask for him from now on. thank you so much!

Tru green ran over my customers mailbox and didnt say a word about it. Their son saw it happen as they raced away. My customer has had no response on fixing their issue. Tru Green SUCKS!

They provide an excellent service that is professionally applied in an environmentally safe fashion. Professionals decide what and how much product is needed to provide for a great lawn.
