Ming and the crew at Professional Grounds were great - needed help in a pinch for some grounds repairs and sod and they did it quickly and for a very reasonable price. Ming was very responsive and easy to get a hold of when I needed. Highly recommend.

I dont see very good work at occoquan ridge condominiums. Their trimming/pruning techniques are suspect. There is holeshot in the laurels, lacebug infestation on the azaleas, half the mulch beds dont even have any bushes in them. They backfilled certain areas but didnt even seed those areas, just created mud areas.

Awful. This company does not perform services depicted in the photos. They have a We only cut grass. policy and blows the grass they DO cut & other yard debris onto other peoples s lawns they refuse to manicure. Ironically, grassy areas they do cut appear choppy. That s their specialty and they can t do THAT right? Pro tip: sharpen your blades, PROFESSIONAL GROUNDS, INC. They don t trim bushes. They don t mulch. What am I paying HOA fees for if this company refuses to perform complete lawn services? Reported to my HOA.

I am utterly disgusted by the utter incompetence and negligence displayed by Professional Grounds in their handling of my landscaping needs. Despite clearly communicating to them last year that my front garden was off-limits due to a contract oversight by my HOA, they have repeatedly ignored my requests and destroyed my property. This was after I used my money to refurbish my garden entirely when I purchased the property. Last winter, three of my cherished plants perished due to their carelessness, forcing me to foot the bill for replacements. And now, despite assurances from their management that they would refrain from touching my garden again this year, they have once more ravaged it this winter, chopping everything down without a second thought. After I was told last year that they would not tend to my property. Resulting in my garden growing in directions I did not want, and plants and parts of plants dying. Their lack of communication is appalling. Despite promises to provide proof of my property being on the do not touch list (that my HOA requested I provide to them), I have received nothing but silence after two weeks talking to a manger who said he would personally handle it. Its clear that they have no regard for their clients or their property, only concerned with collecting their paycheck. Professional Grounds behavior is not only disrespectful but downright irresponsible. After nearly two years of conversation and repeated requests, they have failed to uphold their end of the agreement, costing me time, money, and plants. Even though the manager has offered to reimburse me for plants as replacement, that requires me to do extra work and time, he also offered for his team to come back and do it for me, why would I want his staff to touch my property again when they can t listen to instructions the first time? I am beyond disappointed. Do not trust Professional Grounds with your property they will only bring destruction and frustration.

Ive worked with Professional Grounds, and specifically Jon Z, at numerous properties and cannot say enough about how great they are!! Professional Grounds has been our Condo grounds manager for five years. Each year we upgrade our property with new plantings and redesign, section by section. Professional Grounds has provided excellent landscaping advice and worked within our budget to enhance our curb appeal and modernize our property. I was in my kitchen and witnessed them cut tree branches over a vehicle with the only protection being a rake. When I said something they just continued. They finished the job off by using the leaf blower on the vehicle.

Our PM came to the site personally to ensure the specs were accurate prior to breaking ground. The team worked efficiently and got the work done in a timely manner all while being respectful of the property and grounds. If you want top quality all around go with PG. I really love this company, especially when it snows! The crew is really responsive and does the best that they can to help. This is really important to our HOA because we have steep hills that get really icy in snow storms. Erik and the team really work hard and do the best they can do to keep our streets clean. During the summer the crew is just as good, and I wouldnt trade them for the world!

ProGrounds has been handling all our landscaping maintenance and snow removal for the last 3 years. Our neighborhood (Whittier Park in Falls Church) has 75 homes. Customer service and communication is excellent. Difficult to find these days. Ive had one contact, Erik, ever since we switched to them. Also, I see theres a 1 star review posted recently complaining about certain things not being done in their neighborhood. I think that is an unfair review and should be ignored. As HOA president, Ive had residents complain about certain things not being taken care of. Its not because of negligence on ProGrounds part, its because we, as an HOA, had not contracted them to do that specific work, or hadnt asked them to do the work yet. Whenever we need something beyond our standard contract, a quick call/text/email to Erik with details gets the job done. Definitely recommend. --chris

Im an association manager, and deal with many different companies. Professional Grounds, specifically Jason Cave, has always been consistent. They are responsive, do great work, and all around great people. Any time Ive had any type of an issue, Jason has been quick to resolve it. I am completely floored by the work that was done. I had just assumed that we would cancel because the skies opened up and it started to rain right as the team got there. My father-in-law greeted them and instantly made a connection with one of the men who had also worked with explosives in the military (it made my father-in-laws day!). They chatted for a little while and then decided to go ahead and do the work in the rain. Again- not expecting that. They continued to work as the steady rain turned to a downpour. Ive done the leaves, by myself, only one time, and I can tell you I never want to endure that experience ever again. It took me two full weekends. Our backyard is large, and even though we had taken down several trees from our yard, we continue to get leaves from our surrounding neighbors yards. Your team did it in a few hours. CLEAN. They trimmed hedges and cleaned up the garden area. My boys loved watching them use the leaf blower, hedge trimmer, etc. I cant thank you enough for sending such hard-working, kind-hearted individuals to help us during this deployment. There is a possibility that my husband could be home as soon as TOMORROW (YAY!!!), and he will be amazed at what was done for us. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

We hired Professional Grounds to design and install a large front lawn project to include a new sidewalk and landing, retaining wall, dozens of trees and shrubs as well as accent lighting. Richard, our architect, carefully listened to our needs and created a design to meet our needs and budget. Their crew is professional, responsive and finished the project early. They were willing to work in design changes along the way and follow up after the installation was complete. Were extremely happy with their service and will look to use them again in the future.

Professional Grounds did an amazing job redesigning our landscape. From designing new plantings, paths, building out steps and handling drainage issues, they do it all! Marta Carlson, our landscape designer was the best! Our backyard is now an oasis with beautiful plantings, river rock that looks beautiful while helping with drainage and sturdy steppers that now make it a breeze to navigate the yard.

Professional Grounds recently did work for our Community by constructing stone columns to support the new signage for our front entrances and installing the panels once they were received. They took coordination with the sign company completely off my hands and worked with them directly so that their timelines matched. PG also handled the County permits from the initial application through to final inspection and approval, keeping management informed along the way, and worked to resolve any issues when the panels arrived and the mounting brackets had to be modified so that they would attach to the columns. The stonework looks terrific and the finished product is even better than we had envisioned. They kept us informed at each stage with updates when the timeline had to be adjusted for reasons outside of their control. Marta was extremely professional and pleasant and it was a pleasure to work with her. Would not hesitate to use PG services in the future and highly recommend.

I am extremely pleased with the service provided by Professional Grounds! I recently had them install a patio in my backyard. Since the area was small, I had no idea what I wanted to do except that I wanted to remove the wood deck, replace it with bricks or pavers, and enlarge the space. After an initial meeting with Nevin & Richard to get a sense of what I was thinking and survey the space, they created a design that was simple, yet had character. The finished product is amazing. I now have more space and a beautiful little oasis made up of pavers, river rocks (around trees & trim) & a large stepping-stone at the exit. The paver design included a border that added detail and provided a finished look. I simply love it! It was great working with Nevin. He was very responsive and professional. I was very impressed with how he kept me informed throughout the project and followed up at the completion with a thank you. The entire team was friendly and courteous. They showed up on time and were ready to work. Their service is truly outstanding and their price is comparable to other companies. Jon, my point of contact is always extremely responsive, great to work with and cares about the work and the community as a whole. When something is needed in a crunch, I can count on PGI to get it done. The actual jobs and maintenance are done in a timely manner and there have been no issues thus far with the work they have completed. They are one of the most reasonably priced companies, and even carry all the proper insurances (including workers compensation) that are professionally recommended in the industry. From start (asking for a quote) to finish everything was amazing. Marta at PGI was extremely timely in coming to view/asses the job, sending a quote with diagrams of the proposed finished look, scheduling the work around my travel schedule, etc. Plus she showed up multiple times during the process to check on the work. The crew that did the work was also one of the most professional I have ever seen. To show this - there was one stone (I am a bad perfectionist) on my front riser that stood out to me color-wise that I thought should be changed, but I also thought couldnt since it had been set. Not the case, they took the time to remove it and replace it to my liking. Thats going above and beyond since working with natural stones means that the color variations are just that - many variations. I couldnt be happier with the outcome. Everything went as planned and the job was even completed ahead of schedule. PGI is my go-to company for anything landscape related.

We were extremely happy with the services by Professional Grounds. A neighbor cut down her backyard trees, which reduced a lot of privacy. We wanted to install some evergreen trees out back to reestablish the screen and also have some evergreen trees planted on the street-facing side of our home to disguise unsightly utility boxes. Were a young family with a budget to work within. Tim was extremely helpful when he came by the house for a in-person consultation, but also in several follow up phone calls to discuss the budget and the design. When I was not sure of a tree he proposed, he got back to me with a few more options, but also went over his rationale for the selection he originally made. Im so glad I trusted my gut and his judgment--we are so happy with the tree he originally selected! He also was mindful of our budget and selected some younger trees that were a bit less expensive. No high-pressure sales--ever. The installation was set-up quickly and the crew showed up right on time that morning. They were professional and efficient, but thorough, and the final result is just what we had envisioned--trees are healthy and surrounding beds look great. We will absolutely select Pro Grounds for our continued/future landscaping projects and have highly recommended them to friends, family, and neighbors.

Description Of Work: We removed two old retainer walls, regraded steep slope of the backyard, built three terraced two feet retainer walls (techoblock), put the drainage system connecting downspouts with the underground pipes, built dry creek on one side, built steps made of levelled boulders from the upper gate to the lower gate; built walkway from the steps to the lower gate; built patio; built a walkway from driveway to the upper gate and a matching walkway from the driveway to the front door. Member Comments: We started looking for contractors early summer and because the project was supposed to be very complex, we collected about seven estimates and still could not make the final decision. The price range in the estimates was also wide spread with lower end at 35,000 and upper end over 80,000. Reading the clients testimonials we came across very impressive and consistently positive comments about Marta Carlson from the Progrounds. After contacting Marta and outlining all our requirements, she agreed to start the project with us. Unfortunately, at this point we could start the work only in November and because of the weather it was lasting till mid April. Marta worked with us on the preliminary design and then sent a crew with the foreman Chito. The crew had three people including a foreman. Marta was coming almost every day to discuss daily scope of work with the foreman and solve some technical tasks. The crew was very well trained and every day worked practically non-stop with a brief lunch break. Chito had to make decisions on the spot finding the best engineering solutions. All the requests we were making during the course of the project were considered immediately and implemented with high quality. The huge natural Pennsylvania boulders were used for the steps and levelled perfectly. connecting to the walls and to the patio. Patio made of seaport blue stone was also built very well. The project also included two walkways both made of seaport blue stone. One walkway was artfully connected to the boulders. After the work was finished we saw some little defects on one walkway. A week later Chito and the crew came again and replaced the chipped stones. They also brought the topsoil and the seeds to reseed the grass which was damaged during the construction. Marta was responding to our e-mails and phone calls immediately, discussing our requests for additional changes of order and answering all our questions during the whole course of the project. Overall, we are very satisfied with the final outcome of this big project. Special thanks to Chito and his crew. Marta is definitely a valuable asset of Progrounds. Highly recommend.

Professional Grounds solved our flooding/drainage issues. Through re-grading, a new drainage system and rock bed, we no longer sweat out thunderstorms with a bucket and towels in our basement.
