If I schedule an appointment and you confirm the time the day before, that means you need to show up. I honestly don’t know how this company stays in business. This is not the first time. I guess I should read the reviews
Jose and his team were fantastic!!! Thank you all for transforming our back yard! They were efficient and creative and exceeded our every expectation! We have worked with at least 3 different landscapers over the years and none have compared. Scope of work included replacing the lawn and adding drainage, a stone patio, adding large privacy trees around perimeter, adding stone around the perimeter, creating new beds, transferring current plants to new homes, the list goes on!! and they did all of this in 5-7 days!!! Thanks for your hard work!
We are very unhappy with our lawn installation as there are huge gaps of missing grass all over our yard. We have called and called and the owner has not responded to this issue. We will never use Alvarado landscaping again. Very disappointed with our lawn and the fact that the owner could not even call back to address this issue made the experience even worse. Very dissatisfied with the lawn installation and lack of response/professionalism.
Jose & his family business were fantastic in meeting all of our grass seeding & bedding needs for our new home. His crew of guys was extremely hard working and their quality was easily a step above the work of other landscaping companies. They round-hounded, dug beds, and seeded our 1/3 acre lot in just 2 days! The quality of grass and mulch (made in-house) was fantastic, and Jose was kind enough despite his very busy schedule to personally help us pick out plants for our garden beds without asking for any sort of design fee, as some places do. Overall my wife & I couldn't have been happier with their work, as they clearly take pride in quality work and will certainly be looking for them to do some beds in our backyard in the future!

I highly recommend. I had my yard rocks refilled, and 2 good sized pine trees planted. Just amazing. Prior to this experience, I had purchase 4yards of gravel for my back driveway. Prompt delivery, excellent prices.
I have been using Alvarado Landscaping to dump excess yard waste, a truck load for $10. Recently purchased 2 yards of their double shredded black mulch and it is the best mulch I have ever used. Front desk staff is always friendly and helpful and the guys in the yard are efficient and helpful. Prices are great, good company to do business with.
They were great! They put in sod and a patio for us and it is beautiful. Some of our sod died immediately so we called Jose and his team came out and fixed it, and then fertilized and did a mulch bed for free for us! I would definitely recommend.

Nasty answering people maria was unprofessional., i was trying to make an appointment, to do my yard and told her just to check the weather to make sure they can do the job and she went off on me real nasty ignorant people just plain ignorant.. they dont have any knowledge of businesses.! NO recommendations whatsoever!!!!!!!!!
My personal experience yesterday was phenomenal I am a local landscaper and was in need of a place to dispose of debris and rocks and they were very close reasonably priced very upfront and honest i will personally recommend Alvarado landscaping and I look forward to the repeat business Thank you Brian Xtravagrass
1 star is too much. Had a delivery set up for a customer of mine. The drivers were disrespectful to the customer. Went as far to tell them Well you can just go to NorthShore ( Their competition). I dont care what your discrepancy is that is NOT how you respond or treat someone elses customer using YOUR services!!

Contracted them to rockbound and plant lawns and flower beds. They arrived and then said because we have a fence they have to use a rototiller. But then they didnt rota tile at all. We questioned them and they said they would put a deeper 3 inch layer of top soil but they didnt do that either. We literally have see sitting on rocks. 6 weeks later we have a very patchy lawn with some very thick areas and some completely bare areas. Then they actually charged us more for the work because they put in an extra planting bed. We should not have paid them until they did it right. We have spent 6 weeks consistently watering hard rocked filled dirt trying to get grass to grow. Do not use this landscaper.

Unreliable. Poor communicator for a small business. Sought out Jose and his team to do landscaping for a new house I had built when I saw the good work he did for my neighbor. Keep in mind, he does do good work. But, getting him to do the work is whole other story, as follows... I placed the first call in May of 2019 requesting an estimate. I was told that he was extremely busy and was one month out from responding in-person to estimates. I understood and was fine with that response. So I scheduled an appointment for mid-June. Jose, the owner, came out and walked the property offering up suggestions on plants, mulch, etc. Long story short, he completed the walk-through and told me he would email me an estimate. I wrote down my email on the back of one of my business cards and gave it to him. Keep in mind, I did not disclose any budget, so his design suggestions certainly would have been profitable for him. I mean..it wasnt like I requested he plant one small sapling then leave. Fast forward, I never received the estimate. Several days later, I called his office. The girl on the other end of the telephone seemed surprised Jose hadnt provided the estimate, but assured me he would send it out by the following day. Next day, still no estimate. At that point, I wrote him off and sought landscaping elsewhere. Two weeks later, his office girl calls me up and said that she had the estimate and was going to email it to me. She didnt ask if I was still interested nor even apologized for the delay, just that she was going to email me the bid. I confirmed my email and told her to send it. I already made my mind up that I no longer wanted to use his services. Rather, I simply wanted to see what his bid looked like. I never tipped my hand to the girl on the phone, simply acknowledged to her to send the estimate. Guess what? To date, after all of that, I still dont have an estimate. Moral of the story? As a customer, if poor communication and lack of attention-to-detail are your cup of tea, in addition to your time not being important to you at all, then Alvarado Landscaping is the way to go. -Jim J.
