Longs Peak Landscape did the landscaping for my home. The home builder had contracted with them for the front yard and I decided to use them for the back yard. Though I believe the company is capable of doing excellent work, their customer service sucks. My landscape plan included two Colorado Blue Spruce trees. When the Colorado Blue Spruce trees were planted, they didn't look blue but as a layperson - not expert in landscaping - I assumed they would turn blue when they matured. After a year or two of growth, the trees were still very green - not the beautiful blue that most people expect with that variety of tree. I called the owner of Longs Peak Landscape Mike DePriest for an explanations. He said 'Oh, if you wanted a blue Colorado Blue Spruce, you should have asked for them.'! My response was that I did not know BLUE spruce came in any color other than BLUE. Ultimately Mike told me it was my fault and tough luck - he would be happy to replace them at my cost. You have got to be kidding me - how many people would know that there is even such a thing as a blue spruce that isn't blue?! Give me a break. Point is, this is not a 'good faith' company'. I would have expected a full replacement and apology - especially in light of the approximate $20,000 project and the very nice profit margins the company enjoys.
From start to finish, Longspeak Landscape has been a great experience and transformed my front and backyard. Specifically, Craig, Manuel and their team were incredible. Professional, prompt, hard working, responded quickly, listened and created exactly what I wanted done and more! They explained everything to me start to finish, made plans and followed through. They knocked out my whole home in a week! The transformation was beautiful! Overall, I am extremely happy with what Longspeak Landscape did for us and I can't wait to work with them again in the future. Thank you Craig!!!
After vetting several potential landscapers, we chose Longs Peak Landscape to complete our backyard landscaping. When Craig came out to our house, he listened to our needs and drew up a professional plan that we fell in love with. Once the scope was agreed, the team was quick to get to work, and get to a finish point. We're quite happy with attention to detail, the quality of the work, and the resulting 'new backyard.' I hired Longs Peak to install a sprinkler system and small paver patio in my backyard. The crew: Manuel, Eduardo G, and Francisco were absolutely wonderful to work with. They arrived on time, were very polite and respectful to us and our property, and very diligent about keeping the gates and door closed for our 2 dogs so they did not get out. The work was done so fast and of very good quality. I am so pleased to finally have an irrigation system and a patio! Highly recommended!!
We hired Long's Peak to build a new patio/courtyard area for us. The concept we promoted was a modern/mid-century look, as opposed to some of the more rustic/natural designs that are more prevalent in this area. We were extremely happy with the final product. It is incredible. We were also very appreciative of the communication and response times we received during the installation. The design work captured our vision and helped make it happen as closely as possible to our budget. The project manager was available for questions throughout and was on the property to oversee the work, which was top quality. All of the workers were respectful of our property and so kind and friendly. We definitely recommend Long's Peak for any unique projects
Longs Peak Landscaping has been an amazing company. From Craig, the salesman/designer, to Mark, the project supervisor, I have been so impressed all along the way. Craig took all the time I needed to define my project from the design phase to passing it off to Mark, and Manuel, who saw my project go from paper to reality. Even after I paid my final bill, they kept coming back to make sure all the points of my plan were in place. They were receptive to my calls, and never hesitated for a moment to answer questions, or come back to the site to make sure all was done to my satisfaction. I would not hesitate to recommend them to our friends and neighbors.
Highly recommend. We are very happy with Longs Peak Landscape, and the products & services they have provided for us. Craig Smith designed a beautiful landscape layout, and worked with us to keep it within our budget while still resulting in the look we wanted. They were very pleasant and easy to work with, and were willing to communicate and respond quickly via phone, email, and text as appropriate. During the actual landscaping and installation of the irrigation system, fence, etc., the supervisors and workers were all very professional and thorough, ensuring the items were being completed with precision, and in the way we desired. They were also conscientious, tidying up each day, and then fully cleaning up and clearing out all of their materials after the project was finished. Our neighbors commented on how professional everyone seemed during the project, and how nice our front and back yards look now. Follow-up has been very good too. Because of our positive experiences in working with Craig, Pat, Mark, Louana, Chris, and all of the others, we have also chosen them for our lawn maintenance providers, and would choose them again for future services if needed.
Longs Peak did a great job with our backyard landscaping job. They listened to our needs and adjusted the plans accordingly. They are also very responsive and easy to work with. Their warranty is also great and when we had a problem with our newly built paver patio they came right out and fixed it. We would definitely recommend them to others.

Do NOT use this company! Believe the other one stars reviews. Our townhome HOA hired this Longspeak to maintain our common area grounds (lawn, sprinklers, trees, bushes, weeds, leaves, etc.). Sure, they cut the grass, but they failed to do anything else. We spent hours reviewing the issues the Matt Hendricks (our account manager), who lied to us about billing and services. We have damages to our property in areas due to under watering and over watering. Our water bill was four times what it should due to running the sprinklers for hours. We contracted to have quarterly sprinkler audits there were never done. These people are crooks
I talked with Matt at Longs Peak Landscape about having an aeration done on my lawn. They were out within a week and sent not only one, but two technicians out to tackle my lawn. They were in and out very quickly and did a fantastic job! Way to go LPL, it is always a pleasure!
I am not at all impressed with Longs Peak. Service staff is rude. Service is not done in a timely manner. There are many landscaping companies out there. I suggest going with a different company than Longs Peak.
I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. We hired them to fix our sprinkler system, they diagnosed the issue and thought they had fixed it the issue. The next day, our system was still very much broken.We called them back to have them fix it again, since clearly the first time it wasnt fixed. They charged us for labor twice although the first time, the problem wasnt fixed. When we called to ask why we had to pay a second bill, we were spoken to in a disrespectful manner and was told we had to pay. I dont understand why we had to pay an extra $60 for labor, when the problem was not fixed the first time. Im disappointed in how the situation was handled. First and last time using this company.
Great leadership and service
This company was amazing and especially during 2020 pandemic times. They actually returned my calls within 24 hours, were incredibly professional, came through on all promises and the job was amazing. I would highly recommend to anyone!
Its always a pleasure to work with Mike and Longs Peak Landscape.They are very responsive to any questions or requests. Their attention to detail is hard to find in a landscape company. As a property manager, I will continue to refer them to my clients.
I have used Longs Peak Landscaping several times for large boulder retaining walls, stone steps and installing a stone address sign all in a rugged mountain environment. The crews were professional and very good. The fitting of the boulders in my various walls are impressive; no rocking or looseness. I am happy to give 5 stars as a result of my experiences with Longs Peak.
I have known Mike for a year now and found his company to be open and responsible. They take business seriously and operate a professional organization. He is an industry leader and his company reflects that.

Good reliable service
This company does the landscaping in the community I live in. On several occasions my flowers were weed whacked even after putting up a fence around them. I initially contacted them on may 15th with the owner stating they would be replaced. That has never happened. Im so disgusted with this company that I told them now not to replace them. They would just be weed whacked again. I would not recommend this company at all. The mowing is Shoddy, mowed down to the dirt on hills and a sloppy job.
They continue to attempt to charge us for work they did not do. Terrible just terrible.

Longs Peak Landscape did a great job with our new home landscape. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable and the end product was beautiful. I would recommend them for any project!!
Pat Laffan, Operations Manager, just gave me a ride home in what is considered a blizzard in Fort Collins. Talked about his business and it sounds like a great company. What a great guy to stop while I was walking and get me up the hill. A companys values are reflected in the personal actions of the people who work there. We couldnt be happier with the landscape project Longs Peak did for us. They started out with nothing but dirt and some challenging slopes in the back yard and we ended up with a beautiful retreat that is an extension of our home. Our designer Brad really listened to what we were looking for and came up with a design that far exceeded our expectations. He followed the project thru to completion and the transformation was a showcase that we are so proud of. Our Operations manager Pat took the design and made it happen. He was there every step of the way to make sure that the project was done the way Brad had designed it. He was always there to answer questions and kept us posted on every phase. It was amazing that he was able to start the project during the winter months and ended up finishing it early spring so we could enjoy watching our yard come to life with all of the flowers, shrubs and trees. We cant thank them enough and look forward to working with them for many years to come. We just signed a yearly maintenance contract so they can keep our yard looking beautiful.
The weather this spring made it difficult to get our landscaping scheduled, but once we did, they worked hard to get things done in 5 days, did a great job, kept things cleaned up. Really great crew.
I had them come out for a job. It cost 250 dollar. Fair enough. After they left a sprinkler head was leaking. Only then and after they services it. They then charged me to fixed the issue they created. Not impressed.
These guys are the best landscape construction team in the area.
Poor follow-up, less-than-clear billing and overpriced for residential service. I contracted them to do a sprinkler blow-out for a rental property (very small yard, 4 zones). 1) Their service request form asks for your complete credit card information up-front (CC num, CVC, expiration) before they even contact you to book / contract the job. That always makes me nervous. 2) It took them 2 weeks to get in contact with my tenant to schedule the service. I am thankful for an unseasonably warm fall this year or Id be out some pipes. 3) My fault for not asking, but pricing for this service was never disclosed until I received the invoice. (A) they bill for drive-time (as well as the service time) for what virtually everybody else bills as a fixed-cost service. 4) I got an invoice with a single line-item of about 2x what Id expect to pay. Had to call into the office to find out that my tenant no-showed on the first visit and they had to come out a second time to complete the work (and billed for both). That should have been clearer in the invoice. If youre a homeowner with a pretty simple yard, Id probably look elsewhere. Most contractors book this as a flat-rate job less than $50 for a normal yard size.
A couple of years ago, the company took care of our sprinkler system, that apparently was put in wrong when the house was built. They were quick and efficient. However, this year, my husband called 3 separate times to get someone out and even though he was told someone would call and set up an appointment, it never happened. He called back, got an appointment set and no one showed up, nor called. He called again and reset the appointment, with the same result. With us both working and our schedules limited, when we make allowances to be at home and no one shows up nor calls, it is obviously time for us to find a more reliable service. I will also be placing a call the Better Business Bureau.
When my elderly mother was no longer capable of shoveling her own drive, I contracted with Longs Peak Landscape to shovel her drive every time it snowed. Since signing the contract, it has snowed twice, and in neither case did this company fulfill their contractual obligation by removing her snow, essentially leaving her housebound. When I complained about their failure, their snow removal supervisor was supposed to contact me so that we might achieve some resolution, but never did. Clearly this is not a company thats interested in customer service or responding to legitimate customre complaints. If you have an elderly relative in the Longmont area, stay away from Longs Peak Landscape, as their snow removal crew will surely leave them stranded.
Quick to return my initial phone call, quick to schedule, and quick to complete the job (laying sod and sprinklers). Everyone I dealt with was professional, follow-up was excellent, and the yard looks great about 1 month later. I will absolutely use them again!
I had an excellent experience with the staff at Longs Peak Landscape. The staff went out of their way to help in Windsor rake and mow leaves on Walnut. This was not a paid job, but they all volunteered to help on a sat morning. I would say about 10 homes were positively impacted by the kind deeds of the staff. Luke asked his staff to help and many of them showed up and worked very hard. I really appreciate how they were able to help in Windsor. These guys are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
Our landscaping project was greatly hampered by unusual weather during 2012. The dry spring prevented germination in planned native grass areas and later, the installed native grass irrigation was not sufficient for the record setting heat of June and July. And, when it did rain, the deluges overflowed drainage swales to erode sand and dirt not held by the intended native grass. Finally, the record setting heat of June and July caused a fungus to turn much of our brand new turf from a lush green to brown. Throughout these troubles, we benefited from the personal support of Mike DePriest (owner of Longs Peak Landscape) and the expertise and customer service orientation of a dozen Longs Peak Landscape professionals. They each responded by identifying and addressing the cause of each problem and only charging for truly new work we asked for in addition to correcting the problems caused by the weather. This fall of 2012 we had significant re-grading and improvements installed. Again, Mike DePriest personally supported our project and his crew of Longs Peak Landscape professionals worked very hard while applying their ample resources (skilled design, technical and installation personnel; heavy equipment; an efficient and effective material supply network; etc.) to achieve the desired results. Although installation of some new turf and native grass has been deferred to March April, we can easily envision how our final completed professional landscape project will delight the eye with appealing curving, rising & falling landforms and materials (rock, mulch, turf, etc.) and plant and boulder selections and placements. Also, our beautiful landscape will drain naturally with properly sized and functional drainage swales installed by skilled equipment operators. Importantly, our professional landscape design also provides for reasonable and low cost maintenance. Of course, we recommend Longs Peak Landscape to friends and neighbors when they ask us about our beautiful home landscaping.
